We came for high tea through the social deal. The snacks were very original and everyone enjoyed their meal. The presentation was beautiful and the atmosphere was pleasant with good service.

I had a wonderful time working upstairs while enjoying a delicious cappuccino and avocado toast. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a comfortable place to work on your laptop! ❤️

We booked a High Tea for Thursday afternoon with a Social Deal for €19.50 per person for two. We arrived much earlier than our reserved time, but that wasn't a problem at all. We found a spot upstairs by the window and settled into comfortable chairs. The very friendly service quickly arrived with tea and a platter of soup and savory snacks. These were delicious. My girlfriend and I had plenty to catch up on, and the relaxed atmosphere made it very enjoyable. After a while, the sweets arrived. These, as well as the smoothie, were all delicious! Vascobelo Haarlem: highly recommended!

What a wonderful place to have high tea! I had a baby shower with 23 ladies. We chose a high tea package. Everything is freshly baked and prepared, and you can definitely taste that on the platter that's served. Everything was delicious. We sat in the sunny courtyard. A truly wonderful experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll definitely be back!

When we arrived, there was no one at the table, so I went to the counter and ordered myself. It wasn't busy, but three people were chatting. A table by the window was occupied by a single staff member who, with his legs over the armrest, was busy on his phone. Not exactly advertising, but okay. My friend had to use the restroom and was shocked by the mess. We had a long drive, so I decided to pee too, thinking it must be men's, but it would be better for women. It wasn't, though. The toilet was covered in poop, the floor soaking wet and full of paper. No toilet paper, but there was a toilet roll to dry my hands. At the entrance to the restroom, a staff member was also busy with his phone. I spoke to him, but he didn't care; he'd worked hard all day. So I quickly told the three people who were still busy chatting that it was a mess. The answer was that it wasn't their problem; they worked downstairs. Do they pee outside? And they thought I shouldn't tell them so aggressively. Aggressiveness isn't in my nature, but I've owned a restaurant for 30 years and feel I can address staff about it in a normal way. But if staff react indifferently, I'm no longer friendly. It looked like a student club, both in appearance and service. Incidentally, the chocolate milk was good, but it had skin on it.

The high tea is definitely recommended and a cozy place to sit outside in the sun!!

I've been coming here for years. Delicious lunch, but especially: delicious espresso! The price-quality ratio is excellent, especially compared to other cafes in the heart of Haarlem these days. The staff are incredibly sweet and clearly enjoy working here, which really enhances the atmosphere. All in all: fantastic! EDIT: Removed the critical review and adjusted the star rating back to 5/5, due to your time and effort in providing such a detailed response, including an apology and the offer of a free lunch. I don't think I'll be taking advantage of that kind and generous offer, but I do appreciate your gesture immensely and think your response demonstrates excellent service! In my opinion, the more negative experience was an outlier and certainly not the norm with you. Keep up the good work, top-notch cafe.

If you're craving good coffee and a fantastic breakfast, you've come to the right place. The service is very friendly, and the food is fresh and of good quality. We sat inside but discovered, when we paid, that there was also a lovely outdoor terrace. If we ever return to Haarlem, we'll definitely be back for breakfast.

Vascobelo is the perfect working/studying spot. The entire first floor is available for work space. They have this system where you can order from your phone, so you don't have to pause your work. The coffee here is of very good quality. It always comes with good pure chocolate, which I think pairs perfectly with the bitterness of the coffee. The yogurt I had was fine.

Really cute cafe. We got a really tasty strawberry iced matcha - perfectly not too sweet. They also had good options for non dairy milks It's a really cozy, relaxed vibe with even a terrace in the back so you can sit outside. Will definitely be back!

I went on a Thursday at 11:00 a.m. There were tables available since the place is quite large. They have an English menu, which is greatly appreciated since not all cafes have one. The service was very quick and good, and the atmosphere is quite pleasant and relaxed.

The atmosphere is good and the service is super sweet and helpful. In our opinion, the food was a bit poor for the price we had to pay. Avocado Smash consisted of a thick piece of bread with a very thin layer of spread avocado, a lettuce leaf and an almost cold egg. I didn't even taste the avocado. Sandwich with 1 croquettes and a bowl of mustard, was tasty but without any garnish it was a bit on the boring side. I think the tea water had been standing for a while. Wasn't so hot anymore. Unfortunately not worth repeating.

We entered at 16:35 but we weren’t welcome anymore. “Last round has already been served, we close at 17:00”. Unbelievable. Hospitality is something altogether different.

This place is quite cozy, with a pretty upstairs. The downside is there's a tight layout and narrow door. I've ordered an earl grey tea and pastel ne nata. The pastry was nice but tea was disappointing. The leaves were organic black tea in a roomy back. The issue was that the water was waaaay to cold to brew black tea and I couldn't enjoy it properly. In addition, the kettle was also a bit run down and the glaze was chipped - that's quite a health hazard. The overall experience was meh. Wouldn't come again or recommend it to someone.

Vascobelo in Haarlem has a cozy atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. On Sunday afternoon at 1:00 PM there was a lot going on. Everything with chicken and egg (no pun intended) was gone. I wasn't told that all at once, but every time I made a new choice, because my choice had run out, I was told that that too had run out. Fortunately, my fifth (!) choice was there and we had a delicious lunch.

The gorgeous Vascobelo. There’s much beautiful architecture in Haarlem, but cafe interiors and courtyards that are as pleasing to the eye? There’s no competition for Vascobelo. It’s a stunner—see the photos of how the place looks now. The courtyard is in secret-garden style, hidden right at the center of town. As much taste has gone into this space as the indoor spaces. Its elevated hedge is favored by birds too. Then, when the coffee could fail to live up to the aesthetic, they serve my favorite coffee in town. The cakes, too, go well beyond the earthy apple cake & carrot cake Dutch staples, though the also earthy oak cookie is my own favorite.

We came here for lunch yesterday. Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly guy who warned us that it was busy and that there might be slightly longer wait times. No problem of course. Our order was taken quickly. However, after 45 minutes, we were still waiting for our sandwich and fries. In the meantime, drinks on the house were offered to the tables next to us, even though they had only sat down after us. In the meantime, our ''empty'' glasses were already being removed even though there was clearly still Coke in my glass. After another fifteen minutes we were asked if everything was OK. No, because we still hadn't received our order yet. For us, ''waiting a little longer'' does not equal more than an hour. We were then also asked if we could be offered something to drink, because we had already been waiting for more than an hour. We thought this was a friendly offer and we took advantage of it. Pretty soon after the drinks we also received our food. This was fine, although the fries were limp and lukewarm. The toast was delicious. After paying, it turned out that we had been charged for all drinks. Too bad, because you had made up for a lot with the offer of two drinks on the house. This was the final straw for us. We can imagine that this is a nice lunch spot (good atmosphere, cozy decor, nice menu), but yesterday the service was really below par. Awaiting your response.

Used to be my go-to lunch and coffee place in Haarlem but today I have been rejected there for the 3rd time already, this time because the kitchen was closed at 15.05. The last time because of illness of a colleague and the time before that I wasnt allowed to sit upstairs. Farewell Vascobello Haarlem have to find a different go-to place.

We had lunch at the bar, which looked nice and cosy from the outside. Upstairs is a study place with self service, downstairs they serve lunch, coffee and cake. Although it was okay, the lunch was not that good: the brie toast had fig, but the cheese taste was dominant over the sweet taste. Not well balanced. The normal toast (Croq monsieur) wasn't special either. The home made ice tea, unfortunately also wasn't that good. Instead of tea, it had a strong thyme taste. Nothing wrong with the service and atmosphere, and probably still a great place for a coffee only.

Zaterdag met partner warme chocomel en uiensoep besteld. Na te lang wachten kreeg ik lauwe chocomel. Na nog langer wachten kreeg mijn partner ook lauwe uiensoep. Primeur voor mij: uiensoep zelf naar de keuken gebracht met vriendelijk verzoek om hete soep. Na weer 15 minuten wachten hebben we de chocomel betaald en zijn we ergens anders gaan lunchen. Beste horeca onder: klaag wat minder en investeer in goed personeel. Werk het personeel in; dat kost eerst geld maar die investering kan je dubbel en dwars terugverdienen.
