Unfortunately, the pancakes were cold, with very little apple and/or banana. The pancakes upstairs were not cooked properly and were incredibly thin. They don't fill you up at all. After reporting this, I received a new pancake, but with even less apple :( Nice place, but no pancake experts. I would love to teach them after having owned a pancake restaurant myself for 8 years. A pancake should fill your stomach.

This used to be a very nice place. Unfortunately, over the past few years, the menu has become smaller, the portions have become much smaller, and the prices have gone up considerably. If you order lunch today, you will probably still be hungry afterwards, but without enough money left to buy something else. They should bring back the old menu and serve normal-sized portions again.

Had lunch here with friends. The staff was very friendly and quick. However, I felt the price-quality ratio was disproportionate. The rolls were supposed to be country bread, but the slices were just thinly sliced ​​bread. The fillings, such as the salmon with crab (sparsely topped), 19 euros pffff, were not worth it. The vitello tonnato had a lot of sauce with a lot of Parmesan. The tables were very sticky, and fortunately, this was resolved by a friendly staff member with the menu. However, when another staff member saw this, a remark was made to us: "don't break it." I found that very inappropriate. I would not have lunch here again.

First of all, we made a reservation including a high chair; Venneper Lodge itself confirmed this in the confirmation. Upon arrival, there was no high chair to be found. We asked 4 times (in a friendly manner) if we could get a high chair, and also asked the same girl multiple times. That doesn't seem very complicated to me. When the dishes were brought, we asked for it for the 5th time. We got a high chair with great difficulty. As I already indicated, the food is okay and fine, but it doesn't seem normal to me that pancakes with hair are allowed to be served. The pancake was 50% finished when we discovered that there was a blonde hair in the remaining part, caused by the pancake with cheese. None of us are blonde, so this clearly did not come from us. After we pointed this out, a young female employee responded nonchalantly. Despite her reaction, you assume something will be done about it; at Venneper Lodge, apparently not. Once at the cashier, the receipt is printed out and we are asked if everything was to our liking. “Well no, there was a hair in our food.” This young man, who claimed to be the manager that day, didn't even respond to this, so we just asked if he thinks it's normal for this to happen and that it is scandalous in the first place that the message never got through or was shared internally. Compensation and an apology seem normal to me. According to the same young man, they normally do nothing about this. Excuse me? With difficulty, we managed to remove one pancake from the bill. I think they don't get it at Venneper Lodge; it's not about the money, but the lack of service. Incidentally, this is not the first time things have been simply disastrous at Venneper Lodge. We had an unpleasant experience here a few months ago as well; I won't share the details, but if the “manager” gives a 50% discount on the bill because everything went wrong, that says a lot. Despite that, we kept coming back, but I wonder if that will still happen now. Useful tip: if you hire teenagers, it is good to train them on how to handle customers and the food properly.

We have been to Venneper Lodge a few times already, and we always appreciate the great environment. We also noticed your new menu, which looks fantastic! However, after our most recent visit, we wanted to share some constructive feedback. Unfortunately, the service was not what we have come to expect. The waitstaff was very slow to approach our table, and we felt like we constantly had to chase them down. For example, after finishing our main meal, we had to wait more than 10 minutes just to find someone to ask for the dessert menu. From a business perspective, we would expect staff to be proactive in asking if customers want to order more; the delay almost made us want to leave immediately. When our dessert finally arrived, there were more mistakes. We ordered strawberries with milk chocolate, but it was served with white chocolate. Additionally, a waffle was served with a small spoon instead of the proper cutlery. I don't necessarily blame the waitresses themselves, but it highlights a clear need for better management and training. Finally, when we requested the bill, someone came to our table very quickly to acknowledge it, but then she completely forgot about us. We eventually had to walk up to the payment machine ourselves to settle the check. We understand that restaurants get busy, but as we left, we noticed several employees outside taking a smoking break. We highly recommend improving your staff training and adjusting break schedules so that not too many employees are off the floor at the same time.

Very disappointing. Even though part of the restaurant was empty, we could only sit at a table in a draft, which meant my girlfriend had to wear a coat. Our table was surrounded by people in sweatpants and children running around. Fortunately, we didn't have FOMO for Lowlands because there was a playlist playing that was perfect for a techno party. After a while, we just asked ourselves if we could order some drinks and see the menu. After that, it took so long for someone to come that we also asked ourselves if we could order. The taste of food is up to each individual and was fine in itself. We did send back the strange bavette we ordered because it was overcooked. We had to walk over to the wait staff ourselves for this because no one came to ask if everything was to our liking. Even after we received a new bavette, which was again overcooked, no one came to ask if everything was to our liking this time. It is a nice location, fine for a children's party. But for the 60 euros we spent per person, I expect a bit more than this.

For young and old. For groups or alone. You are always warmly welcomed and assisted.

There were 4 adults and a number of small children on Sunday around 11:00 AM. It is a nice location that we visit often. It wasn't busy at that moment, but it took quite a long time before our food order was taken. Then we also had to wait a long time for the food to arrive. The food was tasty, but there wasn't enough of it. The portions were so small that we went home to eat afterwards, even though we all just ordered items from the lunch menu.

Enjoyed dinner with daughter and grandchildren. There was a bouncy castle, so we jumped as high as possible together.

A nice place to eat in the Venneperhout. A bit stingy with the wine. Or the glass is too big 😄 Otherwise, a beautiful building. Very suitable for parents with children. Also perfectly fine for others if you don't mind a bit of noise.

To be honest: this place has really gone downhill. Since the new menu was introduced, I have eaten here three times now, and something went wrong every single time. Twice, the starters we ordered simply weren't brought. Another time, the ordered side dish (fries) was missing. Additionally, on one occasion we had to wait over 25 minutes before our order was even taken, even though it wasn't busy at the time. Once can happen, but when you come to eat three times and something goes wrong three times, it really starts to become a pattern. It's a real shame, because my experiences here used to be much better.

There is nothing to complain about regarding the food; it was really good. The starter was a chef's mix. Tasty little dishes. Main course: steak and fries. But the service, hopeless. The place was far from full. There was more than enough staff present. The waiter who served us took our first drink order. That went fine. Second round, after 20 minutes, still nothing. It was for 1 Pepsi and 1 glass of wine. I inquired with the same waiter, and he said, "Yes, it's on its way." And then with the main course, I wanted a small bowl of cucumber and tomatoes. Asked the waiter again, and he said it would be arranged. Half an hour without a bowl of cucumbers and tomatoes. Asked the waiter again, and got a snapping tone as if I was at fault! "It's on its way, YOU KNOW." Maybe they should take a course on how to deal with customers. I am entitled to expect a bit of service when your bill is over 400 euros. When we got to dessert, we wanted to sit outside to have dessert. Another 30 minutes waiting to be served. Food top-notch. Ambiance fine. Staff awful. If you want good food but receive no service, come to Venneper Lodge!

Last year I really enjoyed it here and had a great meal, but this year was a real disappointment. It is so outdated not to offer a single cruelty-free dish and to direct vegans to the kids' menu (fries or a lactose-free pancake)...

I always enjoyed coming here regularly with the children. But… the service here has really gone downhill. We were seated right next to the playground along with another couple sitting next to us. The other couple clearly knew the staff, because members of the wait staff kept coming to sit with them. The result: they got their food and drinks quickly. But they kept walking past us… we went inside twice ourselves to let them know we wanted to order something. And it took us two hours to finally get our food. Side note: by then, the colleagues next to us had already finished eating and gone home. My husband wanted to leave after asking a second time if someone would come to take our order, but no one came. But the children were still happily playing… so we were eventually able to order because we approached someone ourselves. But to be honest, we won't be coming here anymore and will go to De Beleving or Berg en Dal from now on. What a shame!

Great service, delicious food, very suitable for families with children

It used to be a nice pancake restaurant, but as a vegetarian you are now only allowed one dish or a single pancake. Unfortunately, the filling for that has also been subject to shrinkflation. The atmosphere for children is great with the bouncy castle, and the staff is fine as always (though sometimes it takes a bit long).

Large restaurant with a large terrace. Easy to reach. Plenty for children to play with. I did feel that I had to wait a long time to order this time. A few more small things: It was warm, but we didn't get any ice cubes. I got a slice of lemon in my glass, but no muddler. We had to eat the dessert with a teaspoon.

The fish trio was served on a brioche bun (so sweet), which resulted in a strange flavor combination. Additionally, there was very little food for the price. The price-quality ratio was really poor. Not even a sprig of salad with it. It used to be much better. €20.00 for the food alone was really too expensive.

Good morning We were there last night with a group of 9, and 4 of us ordered the chicken satay, but none of the 4 were tasty. Eaten here for the second time. The first time, everything was delicious. Ate here again yesterday, but what a disgrace. The satay menu was cold, the pancakes tasted good but were lukewarm, and the spareribs could have been swimming in oil and were lukewarm too. The service was also slow; over half an hour for our drinks and an hour for the starter. Definitely not recommended for eating here again. And far too expensive for the amount of food on your plate.

In this case, the staff forgets that they are there for the customer and not the other way around!!!

The food itself is fine, but I am not enthusiastic about the new menu. The selection isn't huge, and if I want a steak or chicken satay, I want it without the fuss that I have to pay a hefty price for. For example, a "new style" Dame Blanche with Oreo crumble and brownie for €14! And I find €25 for two satay skewers quite pricey. Also, 4 tiny bread rolls as a starter for 3 people is very meager, and the herb butter has been scrapped :-( A clearer description on the menu of what a dish entails would also be nice. I am not familiar with modern cuisine; I don't know what apple gyoza or strawberry Romanoff are. The latter apparently comes with alcohol, but that is not specifically mentioned. I had to Google half the menu. The service seems a bit inexperienced, but everyone is friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant.

Last Thursday, I went for breakfast with my girlfriends. We had a €50 gift card. It was originally for the intermediate station in Lisse, but due to a new owner, we could no longer redeem it there and were sent to Venneper Lodge to redeem it. Upon arrival, we explained this situation, and the employee confirmed that this was indeed possible. However, after we had breakfast and wanted to pay, suddenly it was no longer possible???? Furthermore, no solutions or compensation were considered. A friend of mine had to leave her name and phone number, but to this day, I still haven't heard anything. How are you going to resolve this??

Today the staff was having a bad day OR this place has unfortunately gone downhill significantly. Drinks that are ordered are rung up but not delivered. The waitress said she would check this, but then forgot? Eventually, I had to go to the bar myself. This doesn't necessarily have to be a problem and can happen once, but when it turns out that the Korean chicken is 15 euros on the menu but 16 euros in the system, and I am dryly told—when I ask for a price correction—that the system is correct and the menu is wrong… then the manager has made a huge blunder here. Correct the menu, with a marker for all I care, or correct the price in the system, because this is simply unacceptable. So, a TIP for the next visitor: be sure to check the prices on the final bill with the actual menu..

Had a delicious meal at Venepper Lodge. The catch of the day was truly fantastic and, for me, the highlight of the evening. Highly recommended. Compliments to the chef!

I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich for €16.50 and received two small, very thin slices of bread with 5 pieces of chicken, very little sauce, and a small handful of lettuce! At my request, I received another slice of bread, but it was so dry because the lettuce and chicken were also without dressing or anything.

Best truffle fries ever, crunchy and a good portion of truffle sauce and parmesan. The pancakes are tasty.

The beer was lukewarm, and the ice cubes and orange juice were gone. Otherwise, it was fine.

Had lunch with a friend on Thursday; it was good, but at the end we couldn't split the bill, which was a real shame because you hardly carry cash anymore, so this is a real downside of the Venneper Lodge!!! Never experienced this at any other place!!

We had reserved, and we were in time. After some time we ordered. Unfortunatily the tortillas were so hard that we could not really ate them. The chicken tasted excellent. Perhaps a liitle too greasy we ordered a steak medium it was too close to raw. The cheece burger meat was way too burned and dry. The starters were excellent.(See pictures) The service is was also good. I do not know were this went wrong, perhaps too busy or not enough staff.

⚠️ ❗AVOID THIS PLACE ❗⚠️ We ordered two burgers and a kids' nuggets menu. The restaurant was far from busy, we waited an extremely long time without receiving our food. To make matters worse, we watched several customers who arrived after us get served before we did. When we politely asked if everything was okay with our order, we were repeatedly dismissed with vague answers such as "it's coming" or "it will be ready soon." No explanation, no update, and no effort to resolve the situation. We eventually decided that enough was enough and informed the staff that we would pay for our drinks and leave. At that point, any professional restaurant would at least apologize, explain the delay, or try to make things right. Instead, the response was simply: "YOU CAN GO." No apology. No concern. No accountability. Nothing. The entire experience left us feeling completely unwelcome. I even tried ordering in Dutch, yet the staff immediately switched to English and their attitude towards us felt noticeably cold and dismissive throughout the visit. We left hungry, frustrated, and shocked by how poorly the situation was handled. ⭐ 1 STAR IS STILL TOO GENEROUS! I WILL BE SHARING THIS EXPERINCE WITH EVERYONE I KNOW.I

Sit down for a bit for coffee, a drink, and some snacks. We had to wave quite a bit to be seen ;). The coffee was fine, but the cheese sticks were really not how they should be. Not crispy and the filling grainy instead of creamy. Returned the first portion; the second portion was baked a little longer, but the filling wasn't cheesy at all again, a shame.. A fine place for a short walk in the area and to sit for a while, but quite busy and noisy.

Nice and child-friendly place! Next to the location is a lovely playground where children can have a great time. During the Whitsun weekend, there were even bouncy castles, which was an extra nice surprise. Unfortunately, we were given a table at the edge of the terrace, where the parasol pole blocked one side of the table quite badly, making it uncomfortable to sit. The table was also very close to another table, making it difficult for me to get into my chair. The food itself was tasty though: a delicious burger, tasty pancakes, and a nice lunch menu. Definitely recommended for families with children!

We visited this location for high tea. It was very well taken care of. We arranged the table setting ourselves, which was no problem. Dietary requirements were communicated multiple times, but initially things went wrong. Kitchen staff came to the table themselves to mention this, and it was resolved properly.

We had a bite and a drink here after a walk in the Venneper Hout. The weather was lovely and we were able to sit comfortably on the terrace. The food was tasty and looked beautiful and well-presented. The staff was also friendly, but mostly quite young. We were able to enjoy the drama being discussed among the staff, which was being discussed at length on the terrace. Not very professional, but for us, no reason not to come here again. We had a great time here and thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine, a bite, and a drink!

Not recommended! There are better restaurants to be found in the immediate vicinity. The atmosphere is nice, service is inconsistent but average. Quality, quantity, and value for money are extremely poor. Top price for a minimal amount, quality is hard to find, and products are not fresh. But the worst part is that they apply the price-quality ratio of a Michelin-starred restaurant. This was quite different 5 years ago; back then, you still got value for your money here. Normal portions of good quality and good service.

Hello everyone! We stopped here for breakfast before visiting Keukenhof Park. We only had 20 minutes, so we grabbed some quick bites: cheesecake and apple pie. The girls were friendly and smiling.

This Friday around 10:30 AM, we wanted to grab a quick coffee; we were politely welcomed and told to just find a table. It was quite quiet. We waited 20 minutes, but no one came by and we didn't see anyone again. We left to get that coffee somewhere else. There was no one at the counter/cash register anymore either. Too little staff or no interest?

A peaceful spot for a delicious lunch, dinner, a meeting, or a drink after a walk. There's a playground for the kids and an indoor play area. A secluded patio. And plenty of free parking.

We ate here tonight in honor of Grandpa's birthday. We received a nice cushion for Grandma as requested because the chairs are too hard for sitting for a long time. There is certainly nothing to complain about regarding the food either; that was fine, but the waiting times are truly absurd. We were inside for well over an hour before a sandwich finally appeared on the table, and our drinks, which were ordered immediately upon arrival, also took more than half an hour to arrive. This is really way too long, especially with 4 children.

I come here regularly, but this time I came for the high tea for the first time. What a disappointment! A pot of tea was nowhere to be found, and no one asked for it either. They mostly kept asking if we wanted soft drinks or coffee. The high tea was basically the same as a lunch trio, but with a slice of banana cake on the side. Very disappointing, especially since I am normally quite enthusiastic about the dishes they serve here.

Why it took so long is a mystery to us. Then we received our tray with the high tea on it (cup of soup, 2 small sandwiches, a slice of sweet, and chips). The tea wasn't served and didn't arrive until 50 minutes later, when the food was finished. For dessert, we had a slice of apple pie with whipped cream. The staff was friendly, the food was adequate, but the wait times were far too long. A shame.
