V.O.F. Cafetaria 't Huukske in Wijk 01 Mierlo

After reading the mixed reviews, I took a chance on trying those delicious, fresh fries. I assumed that after so many bad reviews about the quality of the frying fat, they'd do something about it. Unfortunately, they didn't; worse, they had the worst fries I've ever had at a chip shop. I mentioned this to the young man at the counter. He apologized for the quality, but that was it. I understand he can't do much more than report it to the owner. The tables were dirty too!

Things have gone downhill there. I see plenty of comments from dissatisfied customers about the fries; unfortunately, I've discovered it myself. I'd never seen chewy satay sauce before, but Reintje sells it.

On Saturday evening, October 11, 2025, around 6:00 PM, we went for dinner with a group of 8 people (without a reservation, but it's recommended). 6 adults (one of whom was vegetarian) and 2 children. Pros: - Extensive selection on the children's menu. - The children's menu is nicely presented. - Extensive menu, including vegetarian options. - Everyone's food was served at the same time. - We were asked several times if everything was to our liking. Cons: - Not noticed.

The only one in the area with truly delicious fries. Eethuis Reintje is the only one with FRESH fries instead of frozen ones. (You can also get frozen fries at the supermarket.) The fries are usually labeled "unsalted." Because they're unsalted and super fresh, your taste buds are stimulated, and you'll experience the difference between standard frozen fries and the flavorful, artisanal quality of traditional fries. Besides the owner, the staff consists mainly of young people. They work hard, are cheerful, and do their best. (The owner provides guidance when necessary.)

For the second time, they're not keeping their promises. You order a chip van, and then another company shows up without us knowing. Today is neighborhood day, which we discussed months ago, and now no one is showing up. So bad. If they have a bigger party, they just skip the smaller ones.

I ordered a family-sized portion for four, but no one finished their plate. The fries were hard and tasted old (see photo). They also had a foul odor (like old grease?). A very disappointing experience.

Got food from here for the second time yesterday. The fries were mostly small, very hard, and therefore inedible. They tasted like they'd been fried in old oil and were stuck together. The croquette had burst. The bamischijf (noodle slice) was good, though.

Fries say no fries and unfortunately for sale is happiness. For your future

We had dinner here yesterday, and when we came in we immediately felt rushed. We couldn't calmly look at the menu without being looked at in a mean way by a girl who took the order. While eating they kept looking at us and just started pointing. Other tables had dirty plates on them and the staff walked past them but didn't clear them up. We were also here last year in October and the owner was there himself and he treated us great, but you can't say the same about his staff. There were more customers who were not satisfied. I hope it's better next time.

Delicious food, let's be honest! The stew is highly recommended! However, a small tip: it is better to serve the salad in a bowl on the plate. My croquette was soaked in acid.

Ended up here via Google because it was one of the few that was already open at 11:30! Hupakee had some delicious fries Snacks were also very tasty! There is a nice atmosphere inside, just as if you were at someone's home

We ordered two different schnitzels. I had one with kebab, with sauce, and my meat was undercooked and the fries were cold. The meat smelled too sour. But my girlfriend had a schnitzel with mushroom sauce, well I don't call that a sauce, it was just too thick, soggy, and lumpy. Very disappointing. She came to ask if she liked it, and I said no. The meat was undercooked. Then the girl working there said, "I'll get someone." We chatted for a bit. She came back with the bill. She said, "Okay, do you want something else to make up for it?" But I was so done, I wanted the bill and left. She said, "We took a schnitzel off the bill." It just went downhill at the chip shop. I thought I'd eat there once, but okay, the last time I went there to look at my own chip shop, and the tables were probably not cleaned properly.

Experience with collecting fries & snacks: - delicious fresh fries that are cut fresh every day. (Instead of frozen fries at others) - standard tasty and well-filled snacks - there is sufficient staff available, which keeps waiting to a minimum.

Restaurant experience We recently (October 25, 2024) had dinner at Reintjes with 6 adults and 3 children aged around 8. Adults all had a schnitzel menu and the children had a children's menu. The children received a nice surprise which helped keep them "calm" until the food was served. The food was ready in normal time and served to everyone at the same time. The service was good and not pushy when we asked if we wanted something to drink or something.

I went here with my wife on Saturday October 26 to eat in the restaurant. It was rainy, but enough parking space in Christina street. It was around 6 p.m. and we were allowed to take a seat right away. I ate a Chinese tomato soup and a schnitzel, my wife a goulash soup and satay menu. The schnitzel was very tasty, the tomato soup was on the less sweet side than what I was used to, but the owner said that it is freshly made, and therefore not from a can. My wife was very satisfied with the goulash soup and satay menu. My wife thought the place was attractively decorated and the background music was at a nice quiet volume.

Food was not good. Schnitzel Switzerland ordered "cheese, more cheese and cheese sauce." But the cheese sauce was gone. The Schnitzels were dry and the fries not tasty. As a regular customer, no more repeats. I complained about that to a waiter! He told me the cheese sauce was gone. He also thought it was strange that it was sold after all.

Super friendly staff, especially Louise was very nice. Oh yes, the fries were also very tasty. I will definitely come there more often, what a great place!

Got fries today, was the first to come in. Waited 25 minutes for my fries. . Fries really not tasty. Undercooked and limp. Satay croquette also not tasty and the satay sauce was much too thick and seemed as if it was not fresh. For the first time I didn't eat my food. Too bad I don't think this is worth repeating

Got fries today but threw away all 5 portions and quickly got them somewhere else, I think these fries had been reheated about 4 times, shriveled, dried out and very hard

Very bad experience, we won't be back! Went for dinner with 4 adults and 1 child. It took a very long time, then the fries were cold. We reported this and received a plate that we could share. Not agreed. We all wanted our fries hot. The fries were undercooked and there were also a lot of hard fries, poorly cooked! My husband got his snacks when we were almost done, 2 special viandels, 1 of which was also cold. We received the old snack with the new fries that had been fried, so it was also cold again. How much can go wrong in 1 order?! We got a €7 discount on the dirty food. Guests behind us didn't want their fries either, the fries were undercooked and the satay sauce was cold.

Passionate, clean shop and incredibly friendly staff. Always good help, even with the chip truck, they are everywhere. And always delicious fresh fries. And delicious schnitzel in all shapes and sizes.

Reintje is altijd onze favoriete friettent geweest. Echter gaan we na de ervaring van vanavond naar een andere friettent in Mierlo op zoek. Niet voor de 1e, niet voor de 2e, maar voor minstens de 5e keer hele slechte friet. Dit over een aantal maanden tot een jaar verspreid. Een enkele keer heeft er wel een goede bakbeurt tussen gezeten. De friet is mega slap, soms lijkt hij nog niet helemaal gaar, terwijl de kleur toch wel redelijk is en de frietjes niet te wit zijn. Vanavond vergeleken we het met friet die van een warmhoudplaat af komt. Dit terwijl het niet druk was en er maar 2 tafeltjes bezet waren in de zaak op zondagavond 17:00 uur. We belden en binnen 5 minuten kon onze bestelling klaar zijn. Het autoritje kost ons precies die 5 minuten, maar toch stond onze bestelling al op ons te wachten. Besteed liever nog een minuutje langer aan de friet en laat de klant een minuutje wachten op de bestelling dan dat je kwalitatief slechte friet mee geeft. Heel erg jammer. Over de snacks niets te klagen, deze zijn geweldig en zullen we zeker missen als we bij een andere friettent gaan komen. Ook over de wachttijd hebben we echt niets te klagen. Reviews met het gegeven dat het lang duurt bij Reintje, klinken ons vreemd in de oren. Ze zijn eerder (te) snel dan te langzaam. Wellicht kunnen we over een tijdje nog eens komen testen, maar voorlopig geen slappe friet meer voor ons.

Kwamen eten met 6 mensen. Ik ging voor de kibbeling, maar was meer friet dan kibbeling. Naar mijn mening is friet een bijgerecht. Werd ook niet gevraagd of ik knoflooksaus of remouladesaus wilde. Was echt heel erg chaotisch. Een uur wachten op eten vind ik niet echt tof.

De service en het eten is fantastisch! Een echte aanrader!

Snel geholpen, ondanks dat het druk niet lang hoeven te wachten op mijn bestelling. En het eten smaakt naar meer... Kersen kroket zijn bij uitstek de lekkerste kroketten ever.

Wij kwamen langs dit eethuisje, en hebben daar heerlijk gegeten. Vriendelijke eigenaars, adviseerde om een andere saus tenemen bij m'n broodje kroket. HEERLIJK !!

Het is onze favoriete friettent om zowel aan tafel te eten en om van mee te nemen. De laatste periode merken we wel dat de kwaliteit van met name de friet aan het schommelen is. We zijn geen experts in friet bakken dus weten niet of er verschillende aardappels gebruikt worden of dat door pieken (wij halen altijd op vrijdag tussen 18:00 en 19:00) in drukte de baktijden schommelen...
