We were quite late at the bakery, and there was still plenty of choice when it came to flans. And that is what we came for.

Let me start by saying that this is a bakery with high-quality products. However, the customer service is lacking. My mother placed a very large order here, including a gooseberry pie, and they only requested that no meringue be added. Bakery Vries delivered a gooseberry pie with meringue, and that's no problem for us. But now, purely for that reason, my mother has been called and told in a very annoying, accusatory tone that it's inconvenient for another customer that we received the wrong pie. This is solely the baker's fault and problem, and they shouldn't burden their customers with this, especially not with such an unfriendly tone. Awaiting a suitable response, I remain.

I was the first at the counter for my takeaway order and was completely ignored by an unfriendly employee with red hair in a ponytail, who showed no sign of customer friendliness whatsoever and didn't even look at me or greet me/ignored my greeting. I was skipped over while a later customer was served immediately. Only later was I noticed after all. Her blonde colleague who took over afterwards was friendly and helped me correctly. The difference in service was enormous and this was a very unpleasant experience.

Absolutely delicious and a true craft, but the downside of the "Rice Cherry Special" is that you'll have to spend the next few hours and days answering all sorts of questions from family and friends, like "Is it really gone yet!?", "Can you save me another piece??", and "Who ate the last one?😔" No, just beware of people on a binge who will start wandering around the kitchen, completely untrustworthy. 🍰🔒

We had plans to get a Limburgse Vlaai for a friends birthday, but the shop we wanted to go to was unexpectedly closed for holidays. We found Vries Brood and were immediately impressed, their selection of pies, cakes, viennoiseries, and bread was excellent. They even had some pies we had never seen before. The place was very busy when we went, but the service was fast and the pie excellent.

Have tasted most of their vlaais and all of them simply taste good. Fresh cream and bread are always fresh. Some of the Vlaai have to be pre-ordered. Beautifully decorated and tasty pastries to match each season and occasion. My all time favorite vlaais - Kruimel Vlaai and Caramel Vlaai

This bakery has been around since I can remember! (40+ years), and has been run by generations of dedicated people. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. The products are always as fresh as you can get and the pastries are out of this world. This bakery is a true asset for the “Boshoven” neighbourhood. People don’t go to a bakery here, they go to the “Vries”!
