We had plans to get a Limburgse Vlaai for a friends birthday, but the shop we wanted to go to was unexpectedly closed for holidays. We found Vries Brood and were immediately impressed, their selection of pies, cakes, viennoiseries, and bread was excellent. They even had some pies we had never seen before. The place was very busy when we went, but the service was fast and the pie excellent.

First let me say that this is a bakery with good quality products. However, customer service is lacking. My mother had placed a very large order here, including a gooseberry pie, but she had only said that she did not need any foam on the pie. Now the Vries bakery has provided a gooseberry pie with foam and that is no problem for us. But now my mother has been called purely for that fact and addressed in a very annoying accusatory tone that it is annoying for another customer that we have received the wrong pie. This is solely the fault and problem of the baker himself and the baker should not saddle his customers with this, and certainly not with such a customer-unfriendly tone. I remain pending an appropriate response.

Have tasted most of their vlaais and all of them simply taste good. Fresh cream and bread are always fresh. Some of the Vlaai have to be pre-ordered. Beautifully decorated and tasty pastries to match each season and occasion. My all time favorite vlaais - Kruimel Vlaai and Caramel Vlaai

This bakery has been around since I can remember! (40+ years), and has been run by generations of dedicated people. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. The products are always as fresh as you can get and the pastries are out of this world. This bakery is a true asset for the “Boshoven” neighbourhood. People don’t go to a bakery here, they go to the “Vries”!
