Wan Pipel in Oude Pijp

One of the best roti shops in Amsterdam, their sandwiches are also delicious. They do need to work on delivery, but eating there or taking away is always great.

I went there yesterday, I went in and greeted the lady as if she wasn't happy that I was there, very rude, then I ordered cod sandwiches, a bara and a baka bana and 1 the prices weren't visible 2 it took a while for only 4 small things 3 baka bana was mushy and the peanut sauce was so blocky 4 the cod sandwiches were very soft and had no color plus the cod was very sweet and hard, bara was better than the other things I had gotten but still a bit hard. FOR THE PEOPLE WHO READER THIS AND WANT TO TRY IT PLEASE DON'T IT IT'S NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY.

I should of checked these comments and ratings before ordering at this place. I don’t recommend this place for their lack of responsibility and reliability. I wasted my valuable time waiting for the food to arrive, only to call them and for them to tell me they have a shortage of stock, thus they could not complete my order. SMH

ordered at 22:30 at thuisbezorgd. At 23:08 I get a call that my order is not coming, due to a shortage of stock and delivery people, terrible!

I love Suriname food, so decided to give it a try. The food was well prepared and tasty, and the cook was very friendly and did her best to give us some nicely cooked roti, lamb, veggies and rice. The flavours had a strong Suriname and Indian influence. Unfortunately, the place is a mess (outdated, untidy and not so clean) and needs a serious upgrade. I can’t recommend it.

Placed an order around 16:00 for delivery at 17:30. 18:00 still no food so I call the restaurant. Turns out nothing is coming because they didn't have things in stock, and they tried to call me but didn't use the right number that I had correctly given and now it's going to take too long. So money back!!! Very bad solution and bad service!!! Not to be repeated!!!!

The staff are friendly, and the food is delicious! The pumpkin roti is highly recommended; I'll be back regularly for that.

Ugh, what a disgusting restaurant. You order food, they cancel it over the phone, and then tell Thuiszorgd that your food has been delivered.

Filthy restaurant inside and old food. Monday 1:00 PM Vitrine literally had 1 container of old bhata, it already gave me loesbere but I thought okay. I order 2 hot chicken sandwiches (from another refrigerator), but the lady didn't have enough, too many hearts and stomachs between the chicken. Ordered a blue Fernandez, it just had dead flies on it. Madam was nice P.s. I am writing this from toilet with loesbere

We ordered from Wan Pipel at the Milan Summer Festival in The Hague (they had a booth there and told us their restaurant in Amsterdam was near Albert Cuyp Market). We ordered bami satay and a roti roll, and both were delicious! As a Surinamese-Hindustani, I'm truly impressed and will definitely visit again when I'm in Amsterdam!

Am at milan in the zuiderpark waiting 45 minutes for my food. Veg bami. What did I get a bowl of rice with some lettuce. That cost 14 euros. Asked for money back. Luckily got it.

Omg!! I don't even know where to start... We ordered a Telo and a baka bana. After 1 bite I could taste it: telo tough, bakkeljauw old and hard. That baka bana was like chewing on an old sponge. Definitely do not eat here! We nice woman.

Ordered food apparently half an hour before their supposed closing hours for delivery on Thuisbezorgd, its 01:43 now They're unreachable. I'm probably not going to get my food. awful service

I ordered roti and it was very tasty, true Surinamese, and a bakalauw sandwich

I ordered there at 3 o'clock to have it delivered at 5 o'clock and it is now 10:30 and I haven't received my food yet.. in the meantime I called them and then they said that it will be shipped out at 4 A few minutes later I get a call again and they say there is no pie left so I opted for a spring roll... (but they were already on their way...) and now I'm still waiting! So in short, people, don't order here, it's incredibly bad, now I just have to hope that my food comes and is good.

Very bad service. Order placed via home delivery. After waiting 2 hours I still hadn't received anything. I contact them by phone only to be told that they are already closed and that he will provide feedback as to where the delivery person is. I then had to call again after fifteen minutes and was told that I had not received my order after more than 2 hours of waiting (even though it was ordered within opening hours). I will never order from here again.

Very disrespectful and indeed they call you to say that certain food is not available, it comes much later because they still have to make it. Then when you want to collect your money she laughs at you

Ordered at 5:15 PM. There was no food yet at 8:00 PM. Canceled the order. You are being kept on a string. She claimed it was on its way and would call for an update. Nothing is true. Dredging company.

Sehr netter kleiner Imbiss der surinamesischen Küche. Empfehlenswert ist der Sauerbraten und die Leber. Sowohl ihm Brot als auch mit Reis eine echte Delikatesse. Vegetarische Gerichte gibt es ebenfalls. Die schlechten Bewertungen kann ich keinesfalls nachvollziehen. Dazu auch noch preiswert und nette Menschen hinter der Theke. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Very nice service on site in the restaurant. Had the shrimp and beef in the bread. Super tasty, highly recommended! Very fair prices. Paid a total of €16 and got enough of it.

Gisteravond bestelling geplaatst via Thuisbezorgd. Bezorger kwam aan, vriendelijk, kon eerst de verdieping niet vinden, heeft ons netjes gebeld om te vragen voor welke verdieping. Roti kip was overheerlijk, zeker toppunt van de bestelling. Bami kip: beide goed bereid alleen smaakloos/ geen Surinaamse smaak/ toevoegingen in merkbaar. Hopelijk zal de persoon die deze maakt deze snel upgraden. Kortom: Zeer positieve eerste ervaring en voor de roti kip/ aardappel: deze graag zo houden! Halal: hopelijk is het ook echt halal allemaal zoals wordt vermeld, maar dat denk ik wel. Tot snel weer!

Hartstikke lekker. Om 17:52 gebeld en kon het om 18:15 ophalen, dus denk dat onderstaande comments op de belabberde bezorging van thuisbezorgd slaan, niet op de snelheid van Wan Pipel’s kokkin/kok. Alles was heerlijk vers, goed van smaak en op juiste temperatuur. xxx meisje met de hete kip

Moet super lang wachten voor je besteling eten komt koud aan en hebben niet alles van jullie menu lijst steeds maar laten het wel staan

De reacties hier zijn onterecht.! Mensen zijn tegenwoordig ongeduldig. Iedereen weet ook als de intrieur niet hip is, dat juist dan het eten super lekker is, en dat is hier ook zo. Ik kom als kleine jongen hier al. Het kwaliteit zit hier in het eten en niet in het intrieur. Ik ken plekken met wat mensen noemen een geweldige intrieur maar het eten smaakt bagger en is aangepast op de Nederlander. Dus ik vind dat die negatieve recensies hier onterecht zijn. Ik denk dat bepaalde mensen gewoon verwend/verwaand zijn. Ik kom speciaal uit Drenthe om hier te eten, want ik houd van echt surinaams en dat zegt heel veel. Dus 10 sterren voor deze plaats.

Om te beginnen zijn ze idd een beetje laat niet zoals de afgesproken tijd. Maar ondanks dat is het eten wel te doen de smaak zit er goed in alleen hebben ze geen pepper gezet en dat moet je niet vergeten vooral bij surinamers! Want we houden van pittig!jammer wat ik net hem gelezen over andere reviews van klanten.kan gebeuren maar kan ook bij andere eethuizen En soms ergere dingens Dus gaan wij Wan pipel niet afkraken maar hopen dat in de toekomst het beter gaat.

A nice place. The food was fresh, though the interior looked ages old. Nonetheless the chicken was juicy and had a nice flavor. The staff was really helpful in giving recommendations. Nice and affordable Surinamese roti place.

Prima eten en goede bediening. Mooie ligging aan de Albert Cuyp Markt

Wat is er gebeurt met de keuken anno 2013? Een aantal jaren geleden was de kerrie krachtig van smaak en nu moest ik er gewoon zout bij doen. Ik hoop dat jullie dit serieus nemen!
