Weesper in Weesperzijde

Walked in for a drink. The staff seemed disinterested. The music coming from the kitchen was different from what's playing in the restaurant, so you could hear it all mixed up. Not a pleasant atmosphere. Such a shame, it used to be a nice place.

I enjoy the traditional dutch food in Weesper like the homemade apple pie, as well as the signature Bitterballen. Not only that the waitresses that served me are also extremely kind and helpful, giving me some recommendations for dutch cuisine. Finally, the location of the restaurant is top notch, giving me a great photo spot for a magnificent sunset view. Truly incredible, would go there again.

We only sat here on the terrace for a drink. The Riesling we ordered was unfortunately served unchilled. The staff also leaves much to be desired. After my visit to the restroom, I was approached in a very arrogant tone by the bald man behind the bar, accusing me of only going into this establishment to use the restroom. While it's perfectly understandable that you only allow guests to use the restroom, you should be certain who isn't a guest before treating them so antagonistically.

Tuve una extensa conversación por correo electrónico sobre la reserva, describiendo lo que estaba buscando - fueron muy útiles y estaba emocionado por el evento. Cuando llegamos, el lugar es precioso y teníamos tres mesas grandes. Sin embargo, insistieron en que solo podíamos pagar la factura como un grupo, lo que fue un problema sustancial ya que somos una asociación estudiantil y es imposible pedir a un estudiante que pague una factura de varios cientos de euros. Después de hacer varias sugerencias, pudimos dividir el proyecto de ley en tres tablas, pero esto aún fue extremadamente estresante de manejar y aquellos que pagaron las cuentas todavía deben dinero que probablemente no podrán rastrear. Si perdonamos el tema de la factura, ya que una factura por mesa puede ser común en Amsterdam, los cócteles en sí mismos fueron una decepción. Inicialmente sentí que 9 - 12 euros era bastante barato como Amsterdam va, pero descubrimos que vienen premezclados de una botella y por lo tanto no se pueden hacer alteraciones para ellos. 10 euros por un cóctel de una botella / caja es una locura, y ninguno de ellos eran muy agradables. La guinda fue que nos dijeron 15 minutos antes que necesitábamos irnos antes de las 20: 00 ya que nuestra reserva era solo 2. 5 horas y tenían otro grupo grande entrando. Esto no se comunicó conmigo en absoluto en el correo electrónico, y no vi información al respecto en ninguna parte. Esto fue realmente lamentable para nosotros, ya que todavía teníamos grandes grupos de personas en camino de unirse, y tuvimos un evento de segunda fiesta a partir del 22 : 00 , lo que significaba que teníamos que encontrar otro lugar que tomaría una gran cantidad de personas sin previo aviso durante 2 horas! En general, el personal y el gerente eran educados y trataron de ser ser serviciales, pero la sensación general era que el lugar tenía poco personal y las decisiones tomadas por encima de sus cabezas con reservas, bebidas, etc son bastante basura. Es una pena realmente como el lugar es se ve muy bien, pero la experiencia lo decepciona. Si decides venir aquí con un grupo grande, te recomiendo llamar al lugar y hablar con el personal con antelación para entender los detalles, ya que claramente hay una inconsistencia o falta de comunicación entre el sistema de reservas de grupos y el lugar.

Lovely place, good veggie options. Please add a Bloody Mary to your cocktail menu and I'll visit more often! :)

The burger was okay, but nothing more. The portion was really small, but the food was served quickly. The price-performance ratio is not good. In our opinion, the ambience inside was also not that pleasant. Therefore unfortunately no recommendation.

I thought what a nice atmosphere here and we wanted to have a drink because it was raining outside. I ordered a glass of wine and a mint/ginger tea. No, tea was not possible because the coffee maker had already been cleaned. 🤔. Is this how you close, I asked? No, the last round is in 5 minutes.... Anyway, I don't think this is the pinnacle of customer focus and so this beautiful place in itself is seen in a different light for me.

Unfortunately not organized for large groups. Fries forgotten during main course, then served too quickly and raw. Missed opportunity.

Before we went to CC-Amstel we had a delicious meal at Weesper. The Caesar salad is great, very well filled with chicken thigh, bacon, egg, parmesan cheese and little gem. Others had ordered the croque monsieur and the vegan beetroot burger. Also recommended. The staff is very friendly. If you are in the area, I would definitely stop by.

You pay a lot for little! Where you used to get standard fries with your satay, you can now pay €5.50 for a lousy bowl of fries. Satay was absolutely delicious, the wine too! But price-wise for what you get, too expensive and too little!

Enjoyed going here for dinner. We didn’t need any reservations when we went here a Tuesday. The house wine was nice and the chicken dish was delicious, would very much recommend that.

Good beer, good place, staff is very kind and friendly, but sometimes orders get mixed up

Apparently it is not really difficult to be nice and put tasty drinks snacks in front of your guests, because here they act as if that is the most normal thing in the world. Absolutely great.

Nice café on the Amstel with friendly service, good prices and excellent food. A good drinks location for after work. Suitable for large and small groups. I ordered the Poussin with lemon, it was tasty and tender. The salad had a nice dressing. I can recommend this eatery.

Wat een vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk gegeten.Onze kleinzoon was ziek toen werd er een boterham met chocopasta gesmeerd.Het is een aanrader na een bezoekje Carré zeker een hapje daar gaan eten.

Had good lunch here on a Friday afternoon. Good burgers; vegan and meat eaters were happy.

Na een middagje Amsterdam en een afsluitend bezoek aan het Youseum met onze kinderen wilden we nog wat gaan eten in de omgeving. Zodoende kwamen we bij Weesper terecht. Helaas bleken ze geen kindermenu te hebben tot teleurstelling van onze kinderen. De aardige serveerster bood aan om even in de keuken te informeren of er wellicht iets te regelen viel. De vriendelijke kok kwam vervolgens persoonlijk naar ons toe om te vragen wat de kinderen wilden eten, en bood zelfs aan om kosteloos iets te maken wat de kinderen eerst mochten proberen. De gebrachte kipstukjes bleken in de smaak te vallen bij onze kinderen, waarna we met het hele gezin lekker zijn blijven eten. Ter afsluiting kregen onze kinderen ook nog gratis een bolletje ijs aangeboden door de kok, waardoor hun dag niet meer stuk kon. Geweldige service en met name onze complimenten voor de kok. 5 sterren.

Enjoyed an evening with colleagues here on a summers day in Amsterdam. I had the burger which was really yum. The waiter was very attentive and the atmosphere was lovely.

Stopped by for lunch on their terrace. Perfect for a lunch, good drinks and small but delicious lunch selection, great terrace on a sunny day.

Mooie locatie zo aan de Amstel. Op deze do.avond was het super druk vanwege een borrel maar achterin kregen we een goed plekje. Goed bediend en eten was heerlijk.

🌟🌟🌟,5 Weesper is a pleasant spot, though not extraordinarily outstanding. The waitresses here are incredibly friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend trying their delicious tarte, it's a must-have! Overall, a good experience with great service.

Zondag 2 april rond half 2 wilden wij koffie drinken. Wij vroegen aan de bar of dit mogelijk was. Ja, dat kon, als we aan een bepaalde kant van de zaal gingen zitten. Dat deden we (in het zicht van de bar), maar daarna gebeurde er... helemaal niks. We zagen minstens 4 meiden van de bediening lopen, om zich heen kijken, kletsen, maar niemand kwam naar ons toe. Omdat wij geen uren de tijd hadden zijn we maar opgestaan. Je zou verwachten dat er alsnog iemand zou komen, maar nee hoor... nog steeds niet. Het kon ze blijkbaar echt niks schelen. We wandelden de zaak uit zonder dat iemand ook maar reageerde. Nog nooit zoiets meegemaakt.

Classic upscale amsterdam bar. It's hip and modern. Same usual drinks but do try their vegan bitterballen. They do a coconutty flavored one. Better than the meat option in my opinion.

Nous avons été convenablement accueillis par une jeune serveuse, souriante et qui parlait bien anglais. L'autre, plus âgée, semblait plus sévère et plus rude, moins bavarde, souriante et avenante. Nous avons pris le filet mignon et le burger, le tout était très bon, plein de saveurs. Les ingrédients semblent être de qualité et frais. On sent une bonne maîtrise derrière. Très bonne surprise pour les frites qui accompagnaient le burger, elles ont beaucoup plu à monsieur. Malheureusement, les desserts semblaient sortir du congélateur (moelleux au chocolat et cheesecake). La glace n'avait aucun goût et il y avait trop de croustillant. Le vin était bon. L'ice tea sans intérêt.

Verständigung auf Englisch ist kein Problem, sehr netter und freundlicher Services. Preise sind auch völlig in Ordnung.

A bit surprised about the very low quality. A rubbery overcooked burger (14,50) and factory frozen fries (5,-) Chicken salad poor as well. No soul and expensive. Embarrassing to find this poor place on such a nice location. Staff is friendly.

Mooi restaurant, altijd heerlijk eten en goede sfeer!

Gebelt voor glutenvrij waarbij aangegeven door Weesper dat er glutenvrije mogelijkheden waren. Bij aankomst waren dit ongeveer 2 keuzes. Waarvan patat wat glutenvrij word aangegeven niet glutenvrij is. Slecht geregeld wat betreft allergenen….

Came here on a Sunday and tried to order lunch. We had our drinks but after asking twice to please order some food and being told 'give me two seconds', no one came back. So we asked for the bill, which also took a long time, and went somewhere else for the food. It wasn't that busy, but the servers just weren't interested in us. Shame, a really nice place otherwise!

Fijne service en goed terras en menu

Wouldn’t split the bill. Made us pay in one. Wouldn’t have been that big of a deal but the server was really rude about it. He just said “I don’t care. Do it yourself we are busy. I don’t care.” It really put me off. I rarely write reviews but it was pretty rude and made me feel unwelcome here. Wouldn’t go again, food was very average as well and not worth it.

Hoewel ons tafeltje voor twee personen een beetje klein was, was dit ook echt het enige aan te merken op ons etentje. Het vlees, Cote de Boeuf, was alleen voor 2 personen te krijgen. Wij snappen nu waarom. Wat een geweldig stuk vlees. Heerlijk klaar gemaakt met een limoen dressing en verder alleen op smaak gemaakt met wat zout! Erg vriendelijk personeel en de espresso martini’s achteraf waren lekker!

We namen in de Weesper een snelle lunch op het aangename terras. Verzorgde maaltijd en lekker. Prijs/kwaliteit zeker aan te raden.
