Xin Hua in Wijk 00 Harlingen

We came here to eat an Indonesian rijsttafel. At other restaurants in The Hague, Amsterdam, etc., this consists of several different dishes, each served in a separate bowl. Here, everything arrived on one large plate. Gradually, the individual components mixed together, so that by the time we ate, it was just a jumbled mess. We also only received one bowl of rice. At other tables, where two dishes were ordered, each dish came with its own bowl of rice. Ordering extra rice was impossible because we were ignored. What was also irritating was that the fried bananas were placed on the plate with the side dishes, peanuts, roasted onions, and fermented white cabbage. By the end, they were, of course, cold and stale. Perhaps the plated dishes are better. I would never order a rijsttafel here again.

We had a fantastic meal; a tip from the host: order a rijsttafel and share it between the two of you, as the portions are too large for the elderly. A good idea, and we will definitely do that next time. Because the Chinese restaurant in Franeker has gone down a different path and the delivery food has become very poor, we switched to Xinhua, a solid restaurant from the past. By the way, we were not the only “refugees”

The food was quite mediocre. Be aware that "Indian" in the Netherlands is Indonesian. Therefore, all the dishes were basically the same old Chinese fare.

We regularly purchase their Chinese catering in the form of buffets, and have done so for many years now. Our guests enjoy the flavorful dishes, which, in our experience, are not only exquisite but also consistent in taste. So, with our years of experience, give them the label "magnificent." Host Rudolf, for every successful event.

The food was good, the service good, and the atmosphere was okay.

It is and remains the best Chinese restaurant. The tastiest food, the best service, super atmospheric ambiance, Chinese music, nicest staff. It is not for nothing that it is pleasantly busy every single day of the week.

The staff were super friendly and the food tasted very good, prepared with fresh, crisp vegetables and a very tasty sauce.

The food was delicious. When we got there, there was no one there. The staff was friendly. Because the restaurant wasn't busy, I did get the feeling they were checking in on us. I thought that was a real shame. Otherwise, I highly recommend eating there.

Delicious dishes and an extensive menu at affordable prices. Beautiful view of the harbor and its brown fleet. Everything is clean and very tidy. Super friendly and fast service. We will definitely be back.

Ordered food, delivered within the time window. Warm and tasty (noodles and fuang hai). The chopsticks were a bit dry, hence 4 stars. This is a better Chinese restaurant than the Great Wall (which doesn't deliver).

Always delicious and service is classic

The food was delivered neatly and quickly, for the second time. The first time we ate in the restaurant and that was fine. However, we had it delivered twice now and we won't do that again. Both times far below par!! The bami is just cooked but still a bit hard. The Nasi is much too dry, as if you fry cooled rice with a flavour without fat or anything, inedible. The chicken satay is much too dry, impossible to eat, so bad. The tenderloin dish of no less than 24 euros was good to eat, but for that price there was far too little meat in it, 75% vegetables. That makes you feel a bit ripped off. We know quite a few Chinese restaurants, but the food here is quite disappointing.

Delicious food and good service. Deliciously crispy Babi Pangang and beautiful roasted Peking Duck. Highly recommended.

The chicken curry perfectly balances between existentialistic sauce needs and ontological rice pleasure. And if you asked me to describe Xin Hua in one word, I would say: really delicious.

Order Chinese here every week, it is always tasty and you get a lot for little money. Where at Levels you pay 25 euros for weak fries and a burger, you get enough food for 2 people here and it is also cheaper!

eten is goed qua prijs maar je moet geduld hebben als je ophaalt kans bestaat dat je meer dan een uur moet wachten en komen mensen die naar je komen om om te bestellen die gaan ook voor je.

We ordered on Boxing Day at 6 p.m. and were able to pick up the order at 7 p.m., according to the lady on the phone, but we didn't receive the food until 8:10 p.m.!! An agreement is an agreement and time is time. The food was good (had 1 other product in between) but waiting that long and no excuse is really unacceptable!

Christmas Day at the table at 6 p.m. after reservation! What turns out? All people who pick up go first? The service didn't look our way either. After more than an hour and a half of waiting, the food finally arrived! This was delicious, but I think waiting that long is out of proportion!!! This is a bit of a shame.

On a Sunday afternoon the place was empty, which I thought was strange. Unfortunately, everything has become more expensive again and you pay a lot for the small portions, you shouldn't be too hungry. Furthermore, friendly and food was tasty.

Tonight we ordered a monthly menu from Xinhua, instead of the foe yong hai we got the tjap choy with taufu, which was very nice because I eat vegan myself and the entire monthly menu consists of meat and egg. When we got home we only noticed that we had received tjap choy without tofu, when we called about this they almost acted as if we were crazy, even though we had been told that it was possible. Our problem was not handled normally and we had to order an additional bowl of tjap choy, while we had initially just ordered this but had not received it. Shame…

We found this place on google maps as we fancied chinese……very friendly service, good food and good price…..I don’t understand some of the reviews before…..everything was tasty, clean and friendly……we really enjoyed it. Thank you for an early dinner……and the leftovers, we eat tomorrow 😉 perfect 👍

I have to agree with the previous speaker, Bodo B. The service was great and friendly. The food was a disaster. I had crispy duck with Chinese mushrooms. The duck was slimy and the mushrooms wobbled with the meat in an indefinable jelly. My wife had shrimp skewers with peanut sauce. It was a simple satay with a thick sauce and didn't taste good at all. It's a shame actually.

Management is well prepared and thinks along with you and offers an alternative.

Had dinner with you. Looked good. But lukewarm when we got the food. When you are 10 minutes further. So it is cold. Very sorry. Lost 60 euros. So I barely missed anything from the plate. Not again.

Looks dated in terms of decor and the music is unfortunately not Chinese. The food is great! Tip: dish 257, Peking duck with very spicy sauce, is highly recommended. We will definitely come back for that.

Picked up a rice table, ordered in advance by telephone. The food was lukewarm, not for the first time unfortunately. A lot of fat in the babi pangang, the stews contained quite dry chunks of meat. Too bad, in the past I often enjoyed taking away and also eating there.

Very poor quality food was lukewarm upon delivery, certainly not fresh, the gado gado resembled spring roll filling with satay sauce, no different vegetables.. satay was dry, the noodles were reasonable, but the noodles were almost cold and squashed in the container, looked unappetizing without I won't have to spend the money a second time, it was delivered quickly, in this case no advantage because a whole menu of meat dishes, vegetable dishes, noodles and noodles in 15 minutes after ordering doesn't promise anything good...

At 8 to 7 we were allowed to pick up the food, when we got there we were told "almost ready". Only received at 8 o'clock. If you cannot handle the crowds, please let us know honestly.

Food was ok, but we had to wait almost 1.5 hours for our food. Called several times "it's coming" but it never came even though we were with a large group. A number of things were also forgotten & not properly cooked, i.e. raw. Shame

The meal was tasty and of excellent quality. The portions are not 'huge' and therefore ordered extra. The price/quality ratio is considerable. With 4 people we spent €195,- including drinks. That is quite expensive for a Chinese Indian meal.

Delicious food. Fast operation. If you have to go to Vlieland or Terschelling by boat, they will take that into account. Nice staff. Food was fine.

I liked it very much. The service was nice and attentive. The menu was even in German. I ordered Tippan (Tie ban) Peking duck with garlic sauce, there was a choice of rice or noodles. The duck was tender and not greasy. The portion is more than enough. The dish was flambéed with brandy and the sauce was seasoned just right. The atmosphere could have been a little more comfortable.

Prima Chinees in het centrum van Harlingen. Eten, service en prijzen zijn mooi in balans (je wordt gastvrij ontvangen). De kaart is behoorlijk uitgebreid met naast Chinese gerechten ook Indische gerechten. Sfeer en inrichting zijn alleen wat minder (vandaar 4 sterren). Maar al met al een prima restaurant 👌👍

Prima Chinees eten. Een rijsttafel voor 2 met drankjes en de rekening bedroeg €63. En je krijgt echt niet alles op!

Heerlijk met mijn zoon hier gegeten, en er was meer dan genoeg voor een 2 persoons menu! Volgende keer gaan we de loempia speciaal proberen!

Niet echt lekker gegeten. De nasi is nauwelijks gebakken waardoor je flauwe gekookte rijst zit te eten, ook het vlees had wel wat meer smaak mogen hebben. Mij zien ze daar niet meer.

Ik haalde af. Werd kortaf te woord gestaan. Betalen, zitten, wachten. Maar het eten is prima en royaal.

Resto bien situé. Parking facile. Plats beaucoup trop copieux et pas vraiment rafinés. Ambiance restaurant chinois, comme tous les chinois....

Voor als je even snel wat wil eten is dit prima. Vindt de kwaliteit van de gerechten niet spectaculair en de prijs nogal hoog als ik die afzet tegen prijzen elders.

Went to Xin Hua for the first time, had a really big meal with very delicious food. The platter has nice variety and the food is of high quality. Friendly staff and amazing service too.

Kwaliteit is de laatste twee jaar flink omlaag gegaan, gerechten minder gevuld, laatst weer geprobeerd met een maandmenu, gerechten te zoet en helaas ook een lange haar in het eten waardoor mijn eetlust wel verdwenen was. Jammer, was jaren terug een fijne chinees, ik had liever dat de prijs omhoog was gegaan in plaats van deze keuze die nu gemaakt is.

Haben Essen zum Mitnehmen bestellt - war köstlich. Nur zu empfehlen!

Die jungen Servicekräfte waren freundlich und zügig bei der Arbeit. Wir haben uns durchaus willkommen gefühlt. Die Speisen waren gut zu essen, allerdings nicht etwa besonders lecker. Das übliche, was man mindestens im Chinarestaurant erwartet. Es ist kein Fehler hier einzukehren.

Lekker eten en vriendelijke mensen. Genoeg keus uit de verschillende menu's en gerechten.

Wij brachten een bezoek voor het diner. De bediening was vriendelijk. De voorgerechten waren echter erg vet (loempia, pangsit). De soep was iets wat vettig (wantan). De hoofdgerechten waren niet vers van de eend tot aan de mie. De mie was droog. De eend was koud. De nasi Singapore was erg versterkt met kleurstoffen. De kip in zoetzure saus deed ons denken aan Chicken tonight. We rekenden ong 100 euro af. Slecht prijs/kwaliteit. Geen aanrader dus!

Vanaf de boot hier gegeten. Uitstekende Chinese maaltijd tegen een redelijke prijs. Vlotte en vriendelijke bediening,

Voor een familieweekend een buffet besteld voor 45 personen. Erg smakelijk, zag er verzorgd uit, goed warm en netjes bezorgd en opgehaald op de afgesproken tijd.
