Super expensive! I paid 10€ for 2 cup of coffee

Great service!! We were very surprised that they made the frappuccino with real ice cream, which made it even more delicious and creamy 🤭❤️ It's definitely worth the price!! I recommend sitting upstairs in the cafe, so you can enjoy your drink with a beautiful view of the market hall. The chairs could use a good cleaning soon, but otherwise, I think this is a real hidden gem 🫶🏼

An unpleasant barista who curtly replies that "we're in Holland" to justify serving a café crème without milk. The muffin, still frozen, is slapped onto the plate without hesitation. A disappointing experience: I do not recommend either the service or the products.

Płacę is ok. You can have good coffee with a cake or ice cream. The whole Markt is very interesting.

This ice cream is perfect and served quickly.

It is clear that these people have no sense or skills in handling a business or customers. It was clear on the spot too. Not sure how they can stay around in a civilised country. Earlier: Not very friendly staff. Wanted to go upstairs to take a quick video around, maybe to get a drink. They did not allow me upstairs, and bluntly said, only if I buy first, as it is "private". I get this, but since I haven't seen the place, it is hard to decide if I want to buy anything. So will check out another place. Seeing other reviews here about their manners, maybe it is better this way.

It's a great place that places the importance of its name on the end of the Byzantine empire, and the beginning of the Ottoman. Nothing weird in that!

Espresso is simply ok personnel normal not so friendly as I read here, but worst is I had an ice cream and immediately after I felt very bad in my stomach, I believe it was spoiled. Not again for me!

I think you can get the best cup of coffee in the market hall here, nice and strong, just the way I like my cappuccino. A plus would be if you had service upstairs, but you have to order downstairs, pay and take it upstairs yourself. But hey… then you have a great spot!

Great spot to grab a coffee and relax on the upper level with a view of the Markthal, especially on a first visit. Coffee was well prepared - it's not the cheapest place for coffee but it's fair for the location and available tables.

When I visit the city of Rotterdam I occasionally come here to take a walk. The cappuccino at this Café is really top notch, wonderfully creamy and just right in taste. perfect layer of milk foam, so smooth too. The nice thing about 1453 is that you can also buy ice cream. Perfect for summer and spring. The Markthal is really a place where you can also enjoy good food, so if you are in the area, 1453 is a perfect stop for a delicious cup of coffee.

Having cafe latte @ this place. Love ❤️ the coffee and 🥕 carrot 🎂 cake. My wife has Mazala Chai with Blacava. Costing 17 euro. We love the foods and atmosphere. Best place to have coffee and enjoy the music.

Contrary to other reviews, we had a very good experience with the service. The man behind the bar did his utmost to please us, by making my wife a drink that was not on the menu, so that she also had something tasty to drink. Had a very good cappuccino, and my wife had a kind of iced coffee with milk and vanilla. Shared a piece of cake, otherwise it was fine. On the terrace you sit nice and quiet above the busy market hall, which is a nice change.
