What nice staff, food was great!

Atmosphere and staff perfect, delicious food

My partner and I got a delicious burger in terms of taste. But unfortunately the burger was cold and in addition the structure of the bun was too soft / soaked with sauce. Finally, we were very shocked by the cocktail stick that was in the middle of the burger, the cocktail stick was not visible from the outside and halfway through eating my girlfriend almost swallowed the cocktail stick, then I saw that I also had a cocktail stick where I could have badly damaged my mouth with a big bite. This is a serious food safety violation and that is why I am writing this review and I hope that the company takes our complaint seriously and, for example, puts a flag on the cocktail sticks.

I order the gyros platter every time and although it is a bit pricey at around 17 euros, you really get a lot of food for it, so definitely worth the money. Super friendly people and it is ready quickly every time when I wait. I just wouldn't stay there to eat it there.

Super bad, yuck, yuck. What a disappointment. The fries were old and disgusting, reheated six times. The sauce was rubbish. The frikadel looked like a walking stick. The meat was inedible, old and hard. 30 euros paid was worth another 5 euros. yuck, yuck, never again. yuck, yuck, yuck.

I'm Greek. I live in the Netherlands for 5 years. I have tried almost all Greek in the country. it really is the closest in taste and quality to Greece. Basically, it is truly a real Greek. the belly pork, the gyro, the souvlaki, the sausage! I don't know what to say first. worth a try. Impeccable service and Mr. Antonis fantastic! It really is my favorite! Everything wrapped so Greek.. a store like that was missing. thank you!

Apparently a new owner has come in. Previously the best Greek in Utrecht, now really worthless. The menus have become more expensive but portions have been halved. The bifteki has turned into a small minced meat stick..? Chicken fillet and giros totally tasteless. Pita giros €9.50... I was a regular customer but not anymore

VERY BAD!!!!!!! We have been eating at Cafeteria Akropolis for years, which has always been good, never had any complaints, only the last year when the old owner was still in it, things deteriorated somewhat, so we stopped ordering in the last few months before closing. We saw that there is a new owner and we thought we would try again but WHAT A DISADVANTAGE VERY BAD bifteki was still half raw souflaki a lot of fat and stuffy Giros was so small really scandalous a good tip DO NOT ORDER FOOD HERE VERY POOR QUALITY

Vegetarian pita is a big disappointment. A pita with white cabbage, a stray slice of tomato and limp fries. Goes into the trash.

Very good food and service. We ate round pie and with souvlaki, perfect! The kebab from the best we have eaten. Burger with amazing flavors! Definitely our hangout in Utrecht.

Recently reopened under new ownership. Only the name has remained the same - and what a change! This is Greek street food as it tastes in Greece. You can see it in all the new reviews since the reopening, Greeks know where to find this cantina right away. Folks, go here if you want to experience what real Greek street food tastes like. The new interior is also very attractive and the service is very friendly. You can pick up, but eating here might be even more fun. Highly recommended, the Rivierenwijk has a gem!

We just tried the food from Kantina (aka Acropolis) and we’re really pleased with the quality of the food! We had a pork souvlaki, pork gyros, and chicken souvlaki, all of them juicy and really tasty. Great service and the portions are also really generous! We’ll visit again soon!

Tasty large pitta's filled to the brim with meat. We tried chicken, gyros, beef and burger, they were all very good. Seating is available in the shop but I would recommend take-out or delivery instead.

An absolute lot of delicious, creamy crust, crispy gyros and fresh vegetables. The tzatziki of the right texture and balanced spices. Picked up or delivered always made promptly.

Unfortunately, 1 of the 2 dishes was not as ordered. It was delicious. Akropolis then called with apologies and that the correct dish was still on its way. Neat solution. Next time for us Acropolis again!

We order often and the food is always delicious. I think they are great! Just now we made an order for dinner and the delivery was a bit late which unfortunately made the food being cold. We called them and they immediately send a whole new order. The delivery guy was extremely polite and apologetic. Thank you! We will definitely order again.

We have been ordering there for years but there is something almost every time. Not enough fries this time. I order a portion of fries for 2.75 and only get 190 grams of fries. A normal portion is 250gr. Can you please pay attention to this?

Unfortunately not anymore for us. The delivery time was 35 minutes. But the food was pitiful. Lukewarm, tough, dirty, and caked and even forgot to deliver an item! Had the chicken gyros on the recommendation of a friend. But yuck, little dry pieces. 3 pieces of onion and a nasty coleslaw that was very sour. The fries have an unsolicited and unknowing seasoning all over them. Leave this up to the customer as a choice option! The pita that was ordered extra was not included and was paid for! The fries were very full of fat...seemed like they were fried in old fat. Lots of hard engorged little pieces. The snacks were also shocking, the chicken nuggets were fried way too hard and for too long. The Mexicano was tough and nasty and the frikadel was just not good (spoiled) in our opinion. Just the smell that came off and one bite made me want to puke. The large garlic sauce for €3.30 was caked on the inside so not fresh from this day! Very dirty. We also tasted a small bowl with the gyros, but it was not tasty! The tzaziki warm and not tasty. Mayonnaise was a kind of Zaanse sour mayo unfortunately. And the peanut sauce wasn't tasty either. It is a whole post full of not tasty, only positive one was delivered within 35 minutes. But unfortunately I spent €45 and had to throw everything in the trash. Very disappointing! Not for us anymore!

It took almost 2 hours for the food to be delivered and the phone was not answered several times (I live just around the corner). Meat was bone dry and salty, the fries were cold. Most of it was thrown away. I will never order anything here again.

Got fries gyros yesterday. The fries were very hard fried and saltless. The gyros was not well seasoned, very bland in taste. It honestly didn't even look like gyros. This may have been a one-time thing - perhaps I forgot to season the meat (?), because normally it's always fine.

Delicious food, always delivered quickly and easily accessible if it takes a little longer. Ordering via their own app works even better.

Ordered here last weekend, and the food was delivered fairly quickly. Quality of meat was fine, but very overly seasoned. The gyros tasted very tasty with the mixx grill, but the chicken fillet had far too strong a marinade/herbs taste. The fries served with it were unfortunately not tasty and were fried way too hard, they looked like chips.

I see a lot of negative reviews below. With us the opposite. Ordered food and it was delivered within half an hour. The food was fresh, hot and tasted delicious!

Placed an order via Home Delivery at 7:05 PM. Almost 3 hours later and still no food. I finally contacted the store at 8:33 PM, which is also very difficult to reach, and was told that the food would be there in 20 minutes. Very bad service, I expect my money back and I will never order from here again!

Always been a regular customer. Not anymore.. fries look like 6 days old. Greasy and rancid... ordered often... and thought my stomach ache and nausea were a thing... it could happen... but always when I ordered there! Make sure your fries are good... your gyros will also be more attractive... and serve the rest with fries!

The sparerib menu was missing fries. Called, these would be delivered. A little later it turned out that those 2 fries and gyros were secretly only 1. Called again. Everything was completed within a time that you could reasonably expect. Nicely attended to, neatly resolved, delicious food. This is how you deal with customers, something goes wrong for everyone sometimes.

Very good. We had the lamb chops and the spareribs. Was super tasty. Fries were nice and crispy and even the coleslaw, which normally only tastes like mayonnaise at most restaurants, was really tasty. Worth repeating. We ordered via Thuisbezorgd and it arrived within 30 minutes. Compliments!

Extremely bad service!!! I ordered my food at 7:00 PM. Two hours later I called to see where it was, but there was no answer. Then I didn't get the food until 11 p.m. without an excuse, discount or anything extra. It was also cold... Had to pay in full. Not customer friendly at all!!!

The food was really not tasty and was really cold not good food

Extremely bad service. I tried to order via home delivery and they said it would take 1 hour. I've been waiting for 1.5 hours now so I tried calling. After 10 voicemails I get someone on the phone who immediately says: "one moment sir" but then he quietly leaves you on hold for 5 minutes and no response. Do not order here!

Food just never arrived. Not available by telephone, not even for home delivery customer service. Very hungry now, because of this store. Ordered at 6pm for delivery at 8pm. received nothing. Attached is a photo of my "dish".

Food was okay, not as good as elsewhere. However, they had to wait more than 2 hours while they were 7 minutes away by bike. After an hour and fifteen minutes I called to see if it was on its way and it would be there within 15 to 20 minutes. In the end it took another 50 minutes before it arrived. No apologies, nothing. We certainly won't order from here again.

Definitely one of the best (order/takeaway) tents and Greeks in Utje! In the meantime I have tried almost everything on the menu. (hyet fresh) Meat is well seasoned, nicely grilled and stored in an insulated tree so you can take it home warm. The ultimate highlight are those delicious, tender chickens swimming in delicious metaxa sauce. You get standard garlic sauce with your fries. An interesting choice, but also a good one. Goes much better with the flavors of the dish than simple mayo. Unfortunately no great vegetarian options. I don't care if you are Greek or not, you can (try to) add it to your menu.

Ordered and paid via Ubereats, delivered at 4:24 PM after two phone calls at 5:45 PM Delivery time given between 4.50pm and 5.10pm later 5 minutes later.. About the food at the hair salon you have to look for the meat there and hot is different. 👉🏻 Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.

As cycle tourists, we stayed in a B&B on Het Goylaan in Utrecht for one night and were looking for a restaurant in the evening that was within walking distance. Lt. Google Maps alerted us to the Cafétaria Akropolis, Rijnlaan 58, 1.4 km from the B&B. From the outside it doesn't look like much, it looks more like a chip shop with a few "cat tables". The lady behind the counter who took the order was extremely friendly and we ordered a plate of gyros, souvlaki, coleslaw, tzatziki and fries for an astonishing €11.50. It was a decent portion that we enjoyed very much and was filling. Chilled beer was available in the fridge for self-service. Conclusion: The visit was worth it, please don't be fooled by the appearance of the Cafétaria Acropolis, they know their business!
