Excellent Moroccan breakfast with excellent value. The staff is friendly, and you can fill your stomach for a reasonable price. I highly recommend the Baraka breakfast. Definitely worth a visit, see you soon!

Al Baraka Patisserie, or as they say in Utrecht: let's eat at Baraka! I don't often review "full-fledged" restaurants, because the choice doesn't have to be between cooking at home and eating out, which will eat into your holiday budget. Al Baraka is one such example. We went in the first one to pick up something tasty from the bakery. But it turned out there's a lunchroom attached to it, separated by a half-open wall. If that's not fresh, I don't know what is. Now that's what I call a fun and creative concept. I asked the man behind the counter what he could recommend. It was still early, so he recommended a tasty grilled sausage sandwich. But I could also get a breakfast platter or something from the grill. Frankly, he thought the latter was more suitable for the afternoon, and he was absolutely right. We had breakfast and a grilled sausage sandwich. You can create your own sandwich, including a boiled egg and sauce. Of course, you'll have to try their own sauce; believe me, it goes best with it. The breakfast consists of two fried eggs, olives, sausage, a La Vache Qui Rit (French cheese spread), fresh Moroccan bread, Moroccan tea, and orange juice. We were almost out of commas, but we didn't. You could have paid a fortune for this elsewhere. The tea is perfectly seasoned, the eggs nice and soft (which you can order yourself), and the platter is rich and generously filled. And the sandwich? Finger-licking good, the sauce dripping off it. And because it's delicious, of course! By the way, they also make traditional dishes here daily, and there are countless other options to choose from: grilled chicken/meat/fish sandwiches, French tacos, burgers, kapsalons, and platters. For those who criticize these kinds of places: what did you think when you walked in here? If you made a reservation under the name of [name] and the receipt ends with three digits before the decimal point, then we have a place that actually prepares fresh food by hand, and we're going to tear it down. If you don't like the servers, you'll stay away. You can factor service into your rating, but that's not the focus of your judgment. With all due respect, that's not what people in such a place are paid for. The average person wants a quick sandwich or something else, often on the go or otherwise rushed to get there. From early morning to evening? Be happy that he brings your food politely and kindly. Be happy with the positive attitude the hardworking man brings, instead of the mistakes you remember that a hard worker can sometimes make. Don't hesitate, dear people, if you're in the area. Drive by and treat yourself to something delicious! Al Baraka Patisserie: definitely worth it!

Delicious breakfast at Al Baraka! I think they have the best round msemmen/mloui in Utrecht. The baguette is also delicious. Be sure to go in the morning, otherwise it'll be gone. They have plenty of options.

NOT RECOMMENDED. The bakery is quite good if you want to pick up something. However, the area where people can sit and eat their purchased food leaves much to be desired. There's a bum working there who knows nothing about hygiene. I asked for 2 plates and got 2 dirty ones. After I showed him that they had not been cleaned after previous use, he was very rude and gestured "that this is normal" for them. This is enough for me to never come back. NOT RECOMMENDED

I regularly buy my bread here, and the service is always top notch. On New Year's Eve I called to reserve 2 baguettes and indicated that I would pick them up around 3 o'clock. Due to circumstances I could not arrive until 6 o'clock. Despite the crowds and the fact that everything was sold out, they had neatly stored my baguettes. I really appreciate this! I will definitely come back here more often.

Today I got a sandwich to take away, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The staff seemed completely disinterested and not friendly. There was hardly any service. It's a real shame, because this is not what you hope for as a customer.

Delicious Baraka (Moroccan) breakfast. Good quality but little/scanty for the price. Half a msemen (what do you mean??), bread, 2 eggs, 1 vache qui rit, some sausage, tea and gravy for €10. TIP: more content or lower the price.

Whenever I order anything, it's never the way I want it, for example, tea without sugar is full of sugar, raw vegetable sandwich without onions is full of onions. They don't listen and do what is on their mind. Looks just like Morocco

We have been getting our bread here since it opened. Regular customers because yes, you live in the area and want quality. But the prices have only gone up and the quality has gone down, we enjoyed the bread in the beginning. It was wonderfully soft and now if it is left for 1 day it has the texture of a brick, which is a shame because you can make bread. Cutting costs is allowed, but this should not be at the expense of quality.

We regularly come here for a delicious Moroccan breakfast. Everything is fresh and tasty. You can sit there and eat in peace. Staff is very friendly. When we buy sandwiches at the pastry shop, you can give them to the kitchen and he will cut them and place them very tastefully on plates for you (see photos). We also buy delicious pastries or a beautiful bowl of Moroccan cookies to give as a gift, whatever. is always greatly appreciated by the recipients. If I lived nearby I would buy/eat here much more often, but we come all the way from Rotterdam for them. I also want to come here again for a tagine or something else hot for dinner. Big thumbs up for you.

Ik heb alle stokbroden in Kanaleneiland geprobeerd. Die van Al Baraka is het lekkerst. Daarnaast word je ook erg vriendelijk geholpen :-) Voor wie haast heeft: ze openen vaak om 8:05 i.p.v. 8:00.

Een bakkerij met aansluitend een lunchroom. Mijn ervaring met de lunchroom is prima. Het ontbijt (klassiek Marokkaans ontbijt) was heerlijk en de medewerkers zijn klantvriendelijk en servicegericht.

Heel lekker. Ook verse jus en verse koffie bij de lunchroom ernaast. Je kunt het saar drinken ook aan het kanaal ( er zijn picknicktafels en bankjes). Ook zondag vanaf 8.30 open

Beste bakker! Wij rijden hier 15km voor om elke dag vers brood en lekkernijen te kunnen kopen.

Het stokbrood is uitzonderlijk lekker en betaalbaar. Beter dan bij de duurdere bakkerijen bij bijv. winkelcentrum Kanaleneiland.

De beste broodjes en Msemmen zijn hier te vinden.
