Today we had lunch at Anna Pancakes in Utrecht, but it was a truly terrible experience. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich. The chicken was fried, but it didn't taste good, looked slimy, and gave the impression of being unfresh. She only ate a quarter of the sandwich and then immediately stopped. I had a salmon sandwich. That was also disappointing: the salmon was light brown, didn't seem particularly fresh, and had little flavor. This was clearly compensated for by an excessive amount of sauce, rather than the quality of the product itself. When we pointed this out and asked to have the chicken sandwich removed from the bill, we were met with zero understanding. The staff refused because "it had already been eaten." This left us with the strong feeling that we weren't being taken seriously and as if our good intentions were being questioned. There was not a shred of sympathy or empathy, and the employee's response was curt and sarcastic. When my girlfriend cynically said, "Well, thanks for the good service anyway," she even responded sarcastically. We found this service scandalously poor. Instead of taking the problem seriously and acting customer-friendly, we were treated rudely. For us, this is a clear reason to never return. Absolutely not recommended.

DO NOT ORDER THE MATCHA LATTE We ordered: - Avo dream: very basic avocado toast, could be improved for the price you pay - Biscoff french toast: incredible biscoff cream, very good - Iced matcha latte: NOT RECOMMENDED, it’s a shame to pay about 5€ for a drink that looks like milk with syrup (look at the color). I know it’s not a specialty coffee place but they should really take this drink off the menu

It was a very tasty (and cozy) restaurant! The food and drinks arrived quite quickly. The regular pancakes are a bit too big for a child, so next time I'll try one from the children's menu. 👍

People allergic to gluten must think twice. Contamination is an issue. They should say in advance. For the rest ok

We had lunch here yesterday on the terrace. We ordered coffee and a sweet pancake, Anna Banana, among other things. The coffee was excellent, and it came with a large speculaas cookie. That Anna Banana was the most delicious pancake I've ever tasted. It wasn't just delicious, it also looked stunning. The terrace is also very pleasant. It's a truly peaceful spot in the heart of Utrecht. The service was also excellent: friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The prices may be a bit high, but if you match the quality, it's more than fine.

The food arrived super late. We had to wait over half an hour for our food, and the restaurant wasn't even busy.

The food was delicious!! Really great and the most important :) But it was far from clean. Pieces of glass on the floor in the restaurant, dirty floors in the toilets, broken toilet seats (in both the men's and the women's), and sticky candy in the carpet in the kids playroom (which came across as not having been cleaned well in a while) But again, the food was really good!

Loved the place and the food, the service was fast and the recipes were fascinating.

I stopped by for breakfast and chose the Wafflelicious as you can see in the photo. Everything tasted really fresh and was beautifully arrange. The combination of flavors worked well, and it felt like a lot of care had gone into the preparation. The portion, however, was on the smaller side, especially considering the price of around 14€. It definitely could have been a bit more generous. That said, the overall experience was very pleasant. The staff were friendly and made me feel welcome right away, and the café itself has a warm, relaxed vibe that invites you to stay a little longer. The coffee was good too, which is always a plus.

Lovely little place in the city centre. Amazing pancakes. Great coffee and sparkling lemonade. Pancakes were fluffy, just the right amount with a creamy raspberry sauce on top. Fresh raspberries and mynt. There was a little cup with lemon cream on the side. I’m so happy after this meal. Can highly recommend. They have several locations.

If I had to describe the perfect girlfriend, the pancakes I had here would be the closest thing. Of course there will be haters: my doctor, my dentist and my personal trainer. But, contrary to them, these pancakes do not ask silly questions, these pancakes understand. The shop, the pancakes, she waitresses, everything here breathes cuteness and sweetness. I sure am glad we do not have an Anna Pancakes in Rotterdam, because I would probably eat myself to death.

Super friendly service. When ordering, we were told the food would take about 30 minutes because it was busy. Fair prices, good taste, recommended.

Mediocre. It took a very long time for the food to arrive. The cook was alone and irritated because we didn't have a reservation, even though you can just walk in and it wasn't busy. The food tasted mediocre, as did the service. When we were paying, the lady was very aggressive. All in all, not recommended. The food was also very expensive for what you get. For lunch, you easily spend 18 euros just for a sandwich.

I recently had a high tea at Anna Pancakes with high expectations, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. It didn't go smoothly from the start: the staff sat us down somewhere, but then they seemed to forget about us completely. Only when we said goodbye were we offered a second cup of tea — something you would normally expect at a high tea, and much sooner. As for the food: the variety was minimal. Everything tasted the same, some things didn't even seem to have been baked or heated properly. The cream puffs were even still frozen. The mini pancakes were burnt black. We got one piece of baguette with a standard topping, which is downright meager for the price. In short: for a high tea that costs so much, we would have expected at least some care, variety and hospitality. Hopefully this feedback will be taken into account, because unfortunately we wouldn't come back this way.

The servers are very friendly and flexible with my orders; they were able to easily adapt to my specific requests. There are plenty of customization options on the menu, the dishes seem fresh, and the prices are a little high but seem reasonable considering the quality. The background music is calm enough to relax or chat. A very comfortable and cozy place.

There was a nice atmosphere with comfortable seats, but the service was very bad. You had to wait 10 minutes for your drink to arrive, there was a 5 minute difference between when our food was brought and more than half of the beer glass was filled with foam. Not recommended!

Enough staff, not busy and the wait for a sandwich takes ages.. Orange juice from a bottle 20 minutes? Come on…

We went there spontaneously. We didn't find any space outside, but it was just as nice inside. The atmosphere is simply wonderful. The service was super friendly, and we didn't have to wait long for our pancakes. And omg, they were the best pancakes of our lives! It's a bit pricey, but I highly recommend going there to everyone.

Really good service! Been here with a Social Deal voucher (€10 for a brunch dish). For certain pancakes and brunch dishes you have to pay extra. Pancakes were fluffy and the lemon cream was really tasty :)

We had delicious pancakes for brunch. The Bavarian Apple and the Strawberry Hill were very tasty, and enough to get through the rest of the afternoon 😊 The fresh juices and coffee were also great. As was the service.

Had to wait almost an hour for French toast, it wasn't busy, so that wasn't the problem. The cleaning and hygiene leave much to be desired, apparently nothing has been done about that for a long time. The toilet is very dirty, a lot of dirt on the floor, and no one has been under the trash can or toilet brush for a long time. Definitely not worth repeating, there were several but where we were on location for Clarenburg I don't recommend anyone. Except for a good cleaner/lady

I really liked the Bavarian pancakes, but we had to wait almost 45 minutes for them. The drinks only arrived after 15 minutes. Not enough cutlery and napkins in the holder on the table. A tip might also be to number the tables. You have to pay downstairs and then indicate where you were sitting. Yes, somewhere upstairs, in a corner. And then the clerk has to look for it in the cash register.

Visited February 2025 | The portion size is almost criminal for the price. We tried four different teas, but none of them had much flavor. Definitely not recommended for the price.

We arrived at 9:30. The waitress was opening the restaurant and told people who were waiting at the door that they dont open till 10:00, they walked away. When i said i had a reservation for 9:30 and that the site says they open at 9:00 she said she asked for the time thought it wasnt that late already. We sat down inside (she turned on the lights after). Then she said she didnt know how to start the coffee machine and went to call her boss or colleague and got instructions (through factime) how to turn the machine on. There was no one in the kitchen and we didnt have the feeling she was able to take our order ,make us coffee, let alone make our breakfast. Weird very weird

Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for our pancakes. After 35 minutes we wanted to leave, but they said the pancakes were in progress. The apology from the store was also quite weak

Great pancake café with great interior design. We had Bavarian apple pancakes, a mango-orange-coconut smoothie and a Biscoff latte. Nobody wants to count the calories but everything tasted great. The service was also nice, even if it took a moment. We'd love to come back when we're in town again.

The waffles were okay, the waitress was completely unprofessional. When I asked about Hagelslag, she was like “I don’t even know what that is” with a laugh, I joked saying that’s a shame, I’m sure it is a Dutch thing, to which she rudely replied “Well I didn’t write this menu”

The food options were quite elaborate, and some unique items on menu to choose from. Vegetarian option also great with chips on the side. Cute place in the centre and quick service. The drink we ordered was also refreshing. This outlet is located at Lichte Gaard 2.

Nice atmosphere, quiet but also cozy. The food was delicious, when there were 2 French toast on the menu and only 1 came to the table, an extra one was brought. So good service and good food.

We ordered 2 cups of coffee and a cake along with tap water. After 5-10 minutes, we got the coffee but no cake and tap water. The coffee was already cold when I had it. Since the coffee was cold and we still couldn’t get the cake, we just wanted to leave after paying the check. While paying the check, we were told that there is a waiting time for cake, which is ok. But the way how this was expressed by the staff was really rude. It is not the right place if you don’t want to drink cold coffee, wait too much and be served by rude people.

Probably the worst pancakes I’ve even had in my life. I am not one to waste food but both my partner and I left after 2-3 bites. The savory pancakes had sweet batter and I’ve never had a brunch that was as tasteless as this. I do NOT recommend going there

I was here for the first time today for a high tea which I booked via Social deal. Very cosy and clean and modern place. The service was superb and extremely friendly. The food was delicious. Top from presentation to taste. They also have very tasty coffee and I enjoyed the mimosa. Also the value for money is more than fair. I will be back for sure.

I had a delicious breakfast here with a friend. It is a nostalgic place with friendly staff. The savory pancake morning shizzle looks colorful, with fresh products. The dirty chai latte is creamy and wonderfully spiced. It is a big breakfast, so it is certainly suitable for the big eater.

Just had to wait half an hour for my tea and an hour for the waffles and mango chicken sandwich. Dishes were cold that should be warm. The mango comes from a can and the chicken was not cooked properly. Never again.

Sadly not a second time! For small pancakes you can easily spend 17 euros?! I had the waffle with baked apple. Unfortunately, this was just a heated packaged frozen sugar waffle. My entire dish was also lukewarm/cold even. Pancakes were tasty, but that's okay for the money.

So expensive for what you get...something went wrong with my order and I was charged full price. A drink was picked up, fortunately, because who is happy with that strange alternative cola? And don't put a children's corner on your site if you have a play kitchen without anything to play with and just a TV. Children don't like that! I found the staff friendly, even after my nagging they remained sweet ❤️

I have to say I am disappointed by my experience here. I have had quite bad stomach issues all my life, which limits the foods I can eat quite drastically- I tried to order a cheese and ham toastie off the kids menu as the rest of their dishes, despite sounding delicious were just too intense for my stomach to handle. They refused to let me order (after I told them I had issues eating) it as I’m not a kid. I was with two other people who ordered large meals and accompaniments so there was already a sizeable bill, and I ended up getting the banana bread which cost the same as the toastie. For the sake of some abstract rule that only kids can eat tosties, you made a customer have a bad experience and guaranteed that I won’t be a repeat customer. I’m leaving this review as advice more than a complaint - please put your pride aside and consider people’s personal eating issues when determining what you will and won’t sell to them based on some arbitrary rule. Food was fine and staff were friendly but this was unnecessary

The pulled mango chicken was not pulled chicken but instead pulled out of a freezer. Big chunks of chicken that were a little bit dry. The waffle & egg was great however. Odd combination of sweet and savory but very enjoyable. Service could have been a lot better. Food took a while and a second round of drinks was never offered.

Had lunch here last week. Staff is friendly, but disinterested. The food is good but the prices are high for what you get. Small flammkuchen 14.50. My daughter had pancakes that would come with a brownie. When we reported that this was not included, we were first asked if we had not had any (as if we were lying about that) and then we were told that they had run out. But you do pay for it.

If you have taste and appreciate good service you would not go here. Went on a saturday so we didn't expect quick service but it took 30 mins after ordering for our coffees to come, and 50 mins for our pancake and sandwich... We said, "it'd better be worth it." Nope, it tasted bad, no cohesion in the dish. We were so hungry so we ate in 10 mins and left right after. Whoever designed their menu should be stopped.

Me and my girlfriend and baby came for a nice breakfast. But it wasn't that fun. We received the wrong order 3 times. Then we still had to pay for it. We won't be coming back here again! We left without breakfast and indicated several times what exactly we wanted and yet we always received the wrong order. So people don't eat here! It cannot be eaten

We went to brunch with friends. The pancakes are good, nothing more. The burger on the other hand was really not good. Dry bread, accompaniment like very hard vegetable "chips" and not much taste... The drinks were ok and nice service :) In short, not incredible, I think there are ways to find better in the area!

if i could i would give zero stars. When we came in there were dishes everywhere, but no waitress felt responsible for clearing them away. Instead, everything was just put on another table. We also had to wait two hours for our food and when it arrived it was a very disappointing (it wasn‘t even busy). Everything was very, very sweet, extra sugary and otherwise relatively boring in terms of taste, or tasted like nothing. Waiter was friendly. Wouldn't recommend this place unless you want to have diabetes.

It was one of my favourite places, I went here many times, I organised some small gatherings, but this will be the last time I will suggest this location or I will personally book and organise. The place is becoming really expensive and the quality of the food is not matching the price increase. Toppings are less of what they used to be and some dishes (like the french toast) seems to be a little bit on the small side for the price. Tables are often all so woobly... Waiters fix them with napkins that are really soft, so tables keeps shaking anyway. Staff is also rude, handles everything in an unprofessional way and seems to be constantly annoyed. Today, a waiter did neither bother to check the reservation name properly when I arrived and she was sending me to another location... It is true that there was a change in number of people to my reservation and I said the wrong number when an additional person was added, but she did not bother to check the details (did not ask for the reservation name) got really annoyed, slightly raised her voice when we asked why she was sending me elsewhere. I had also the "pleasure" to have the same waiter when I needed to pay and it was not pleasant to deal with her again... She seemed so annoyed all the time. Eating here is not cheap, I would be happy to pay good money for a place that gives me a good experience but this one is not the case anymore...

I’m writing this review while enjoying the Pink Panther Pancakes and a strawberry-orange juice. The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming guests with full energy and kind words. I didn’t make a reservation, and there was only one spot left in the corner. They politely asked if I was comfortable sitting there, without making me feel pressured.

First time in Utrecht and we were looking for a place to have a nice lunch and start our city tour. And then I discover Anna... What can I say about this place? Cozy, warm, friendly staff and the pancakes? A massacre, I would say in the image of the establishment. I honestly had trouble getting to the end because the portions were so generous... I advise everyone to discover this place. 😉👌

Korean waffles: waffle, mesclun, korean fried chicken, mango, pickled onion, cherry tomato, parsley, maple syrup Chicken was really good but it did not blend well with the too sugary waffle for me

We ordered for a cocktail and they mentioned it was not available -which is perfectly fine. So we ordered something else. However after we came home and checking the bill , we realized they infact entered the cocktail to the bill and we paid for something that was not available! This is not okay and they really need to step up their service.
