It's scandalous how the owner treats his customers, I will never come back here again.

After a review on TikTok, I was very curious about the sate ku batata. I called to order when the owner, Johnny Li, answered. Given the distance I had to travel back home, I asked if the food was freshly prepared. I shouldn't have asked. I was scolded. At first, I thought he was joking. I arrived at the restaurant. Once I realized he was genuinely angry, he was completely unreasonable. He yelled while pointing at his equipment and spoke in a rude tone. As if I had offended him. As if I should have known. I was truly speechless. The woman at the counter said she understood me, but was quickly dismissed after she justified his behavior. He'd had a long day, and people should just accept his behavior. Because he is who he is. Fine. I left empty-handed. And a good thing, too, judging by the comments below. I would never support someone like that. Not everyone knows how to run a business and interact with customers, and it looks like they're going to lose a lot more. On the way home, I could laugh about it. I honestly didn't know what had happened to me. But one thing is certain: never ask if the food is freshly prepared.

Delicious food! Price is great for how much you get, you can easily eat for 2 days from a large portion. It was a nice experience in the business. Very cozy. Good music. Worth repeating!

Got 16 chicken pieces with sauce and pickles as a snack; It. was. smack. Very good value, friendly service, delicious food and free lollipops for the road. Top tent.

In one word: great! I came here for the sate ku batata, but the shrimp cutlet and porkchops were also great. Too much choice and everything is surprisingly tasty. I like to drive to Weesp for this, from Amsterdam.

Super food, and just read the reviews, the waiting time is not too bad, especially because of the pleasant atmosphere... (delivery is longer to others and less pleasant), you immediately feel welcome and the food is really super good, fresh, lots of it and warm. ..Highly recommended...the last photo was of the schrimp but it is much smaller than I received because my kids had already taken it because it is really too tasty...in other words, highly recommended.

NEVER experienced something so nasty. Believe me, I'm used to something, but this is really next level. Screaming, fighting, drinking, kicking people out, cutting a cucumber on a board with raw chicken and waiting an hour for your order. You get it all included with the Saté ku batata.

The nasi was really old and had a strange taste/smell I must say. I only ate the sate ku batata and the peanut sauce also had a strange taste. Too bad... I threw away the rest of the food. What a disappointment. Years ago I always had a good meal at World of Food, but this time it was seriously below standard... very unfortunate! I won't come back for it again. Sorry

Good food. And a real Antillean atmosphere.

Very arrogant unfriendly owner. Even though you act very friendly, the gentleman doesn't even look at you and sounds very irritated. In addition, there was bright green/blue chewing gum in my food!!!! To everyone's surprise, the gentleman was also chewing gum. The case doesn't look fresh either. The chicken was very dry and the food expensive. I would never come here again purely because of the owner, what a special man who doesn't really look fresh and the chewing gum in my food was the icing on the cake!

From having a serious (fist-throwing) argument with your son (World of Food) in front of customers, to addressing your employees with konjo (l.u.l.), to reacting aggressively if customers do not indicate quickly enough what they want when placing their order and then hanging up still calling the caller as konjo with “I'm already so busy”. Nice one-man show, but I understand why he has no employees or why they no longer work together. Well, you can already tell from the first few sentences. The food may be tasty, but what I recently saw, that he started smoking just behind his sight and then blew out the smoke while peeling a cucumber, was the last straw for me. What you do behind the scenes is fine. Doing this in front of your customers shows no respect for your customers and their food. You have Chinese and you have these kinds of Chinese 👎🏽. I'd rather spend my money on the combination of tasty food and hospitality/friendliness. Never again with Johnny Li!! Hopi mal manera e kens ei tin, mi sen no ta bai ei nan NUNKA mas!!

His food is tasty and exactly what you would expect from an Antillean Chinese. He has been in the profession for a long time and is a household name in the Antillean community. However, he is a terribly rude man who drinks too much and is not customer friendly. You just have to take that for granted with him.

You have to come from there to enjoy this beautiful Antillean atmosphere, service and food. Just plain old-fashioned

Owner is very aggressive and argues a lot. Doesn't take the neighborhood into account at all with its loud music. My former 85-year-old neighbor never sits on the balcony anymore because it is so noisy. No way to do it in a residential environment

We rijden hier graag voor om. Alsof je op Curaçao bent, zo goed! Johnny staat altijd live vers te koken, werkt altijd zo hard! Niet komen voor een fluwelen behandeling, zeg wat je wilt hebben en laat johnny zijn werk doen ;-)

Johnny's eten is altijd lekker.

Vanuit Amsterdam naar Weesp gereden om bij Johnny Li eten te halen. Ik moet zeggen dat we ontzettend lekker hebben gegeten! Goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Vriendelijke kok/ eigenaar. Je proeft de liefde in het eten terug. Wij komen hier zeker nog een keer. Al met al echt een aanrader!

Zoals altijd heerlijk eten. Wel ruim vantevoren bestellen want het is meestal erg druk met bestellingen.

Wir sind gerade im Urlaub und waren auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant und sind zufällig auf Johnny gestoßen. Wir hatten Lust, sein Essen auszuprobieren und mitzunehmen. Also sind wir hingefahren. Er ist einfach unglaublich nett, hat uns alles erklärt (was er hat, wie wir kombinieren können usw.) Man kann ihm zusehen, wie er die Gerichte zaubert. Außerdem kann man wirklich, wirklich mega leckere Süßspeisen wie Pudding, Gebäck (alles traditionell gemacht) bei ihm im Imbiss kaufen. Die Portionen sind gigantisch, selbst die kleinen. Alle Zutaten sind frisch, das Gemüse knackig und jedes Gericht top gewürzt. Wir haben so viel übrig, dass wir morgen noch einmal davon essen werden. Sollten wir jemals wieder hier in der Nähe sein, werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Johnny, deine Speisekarte haben wir mitgenommen und werden diese in unserem airBNB auslegen, hoffentlich werden weitere Gäste den Weg zu dir finden. Alles Liebe und danke für's naschen im Laden, die Kekse sind köstlich!

Food is absolutely amazing! Came all the way from amsterdam to here just to try out Johnny’s amazing cuisine! Portion is huge, sauce is on point. The vibe is good in store.

Ik had zo een zin in hun eten. Jammer van hun medewerker het verpest de telefoon die geen manieren heeft om mij netjes te benaderen telefonisch. Next time TIP !! Laat een klant uitpraten als je geen geduld heb.

Goede prijskwaliteit verhouding. Eigenaar is een gepassioneerde kok en dat proef je. Altijd lekker.

Erg lekker gegeten van Johnny! En wat een aardige man is het ook nog eens. Porties groot genoeg. Verse producten gebruikt! Echt goed. Jammer alleen dat er geen bezorg mogelijkheid is.

Ik ben vandaag voor het eerst bij Johnny Li geweest sinds dat hij naar Weesp is verhuist. Mijn ervaring hier was geweldig! De beste man was heel vriendelijk en heeft me goed geholpen. Ik heb gezien dat hij de tijd en moeite neemt om het eten met liefde te bereiden. Ik ben helemaal vanuit Utrecht naar Weesp gereden en het was het zeker waard en het is ook zeker weten een aanrader voor iedereen!

Dushi dushi, Antilliaanse eten ! Kende deze restaurant uit Amsterdam, maar hoorde via via dat hij naar Weesp was verhuisd.
