Spectacular food and great ambient. Highly recommended.

Chateaubriand, being a very low-fat piece of steak, needs to be cooked carefully otherwise it turns to a chewing-gum. For that price, they didn’t even manage to get that right. Meat was overcooked and dry. The only « good » thing they pulled off was the smoky smell. Next, the waitress was so rude to my mother who couldn’t understand properly what she was saying due to language barrier. I’ve been living in Amsterdam for years and never found a place where I felt the need to leave a bad review until now.

I left without ordering main dish, because I dropped completely hopeless after starters. I think owners only keep this place open to insult people who know good food. If you want to spend 20 euros to bland sauce and Albert Heijn quality smoked salmon starter - this is perfect place for you.

SenT is a quintessential brasserie, and their team is the epitome of a restaurant doing it perfectly. The waitstaff and chef kept us happy from start to finish. Warm welcome, quick & efficient service, charm, great wine, and excellent food. Can't wait to come back.

Best place we’ve eaten in a while. Chosen randomly while walking down wonderful green streets, full of colours and flowers. A small outdoors table was free and we’ve decided to give it ago. Eccellent meat, fish and wines. Waiters and service were exceptional, really attentive and kind. We’d recommend it to everyone – it’s a real gem – we’ll definitely be back.

This was an extremely disappointing dining experience. The restaurant had no air conditioning and refused to provide even basic fans. Guests were forced to dine in an unbearable indoor temperature of 37°C, or sit outside under direct sunlight. Neither option was remotely acceptable. During the meal, me and my partner declined to order a pre-dinner drink. To our surprise, we were told that ordering a pre-dinner drink was mandatory. The justification we received was absurd: “too many Chinese customers don’t order drinks.” What does that have to do with us? Only after making this blatantly discriminatory remark did the staff attempt to clarify that drinks are their main source of profit. But again—how is that the customer’s responsibility? Just a few months ago, when I visited, there was no such forced requirement to order drinks. We later learned that the restaurant had been promoting itself heavily on Chinese social media to attract tourists. Now, after benefiting from that exposure, they seem to resent those same customers for not spending enough. The hypocrisy is staggering. If you’re looking to experience poor service, discriminatory attitudes, and a self-inflicted “indoor sauna” dining environment, then by all means, this place will deliver. Otherwise, I strongly suggest you stay away.

On a suggestion of a colleague I reserved a place here,I saw in the reviews that their Chateaubriand and Côte de Bœuf are excellent. I had a starter of Ravioli, really nice, not traditional. And I had a main course of Côte de Bœuf- although this was on the menu for "2 persons" (I missed that), I could order it. This came with a marrow bone, on fire for the presentation. No need to say I ate this first, it's a delicacy! The Côte de Bœuf was as it must be prepared: rare and in nice 1cm slices. Loved it! The wine selection (limited for those by the glass) is not bad either. I've added this to the good restaurant list!

Very nice brasserie, especially outside. The octopus was overcooked for me, but the BBQ pork was fine. Friendly service and a nice spot outside.

Had a fantastic dinner at Brasserie SenT! The ravioli starter was delicious and set the bar high, but the côte de bœuf was the absolute star of the night, so tender and cooked perfectly. Great vibe, amazing food. Will definitely be back!

Terrible experience at Brasserie SenT. Don’t ever go to this restaurant. This restaurant's staff seemed to be arrogant enough to disrespect customers. Time to train your pathetic servant to treat your customers with smiles and kind services. Nothing else could be more terrible than this. The service was so terrible that nothing else was enjoyable. The male waiter on the 29th of May 2026 was completely RUDE AND RACIST. A complete nightmare. I’ve never been treated so disrespectfully.

The only downside is that it is a bit expensive. But the cuisine is super tasty; in my opinion, a 9.5/10, so 5 stars. The staff is also professional and very nice.

Environment is good but the beefsteak is like chewing gum

Steak was nice & had a nice smoky taste. Small portions for the price. Some vegetables at the side would be a nice touch. Chef is working hard in the kitchen but the waitress serving is letting the side down. Not friendly & unhelpful. Serving you as quickly as possible with as little contact as possible. The service does not complement the quality of food. Would not return due to how unfriendly the waitress is who is serving.

Great spot, enjoyed sitting outside and the côte de boeuf was fantastic.

With complete honesty, the food is great, atmosphere is super nice! works great for a date night or a nice family dinner (or anything really)! Regarding the service, I just feel that they needed to be a bit more attentive to some tables to enhance the overall experience! But otherwise, really great place!

I went here last week for my birthday dinner, and it was honestly the best steak i've ever had. We also had dessert and wine and everything was perfect. Also 10/10 costumer service :) def recommend

The best steak I've ever had at a restaurant! At first glance, the portion size in the picture (for two people, 77 euros) seemed small, but it was actually just right and satisfying with the salad 😌 The meat was truly delicious; I was still thinking about it the next morning. The only downside was that the restaurant was too small and crowded; you had to shout to be heard.

I was really looking forward to this restaurant because of the positive reviews of the steak. The steak was good but we felt the service was very rushed and pushy, which made the dinner experience quite disappointing.

They have amazing meat cooked in green egg and the meat is very soft, amazing octopus as well. Definitely a spot to try!

Great restaurant and accommodated us well at last minute. Would definitely return again. The simple menu means you know what to expect and based on the popularity you definitely get it in spades. The staff are wonderful and the food top notch!!!

Quick service, great steak, BUT rude attitude from one of the waitresses and terrible acoustics. We were seated next to the group of guys who were talking and laughing extremely loud, so that we could not hear ourselves. The napkins need to be replaced (see photo)

Very poor acoustics, and the service was extremely rude. I'd barely started the aperitif and the main course was already here. €38 for a piece of meat, without fries included? And you have to pay another €6 for fries? Luckily, we were able to swap the table next to the restrooms for a more normal setting.

One of my favorite spots in the city. Octopus, ratatouille, steak all are great. They have Smokey salt you can add to the steak if you want. A repeat spot for sure

A gem in our city. Fantastic chateaubriand, perfectly cooked. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. SenT is a small restaurant with a lovely, homey feel. Parking is within walking distance in the parking garage. We will definitely be back!

We stumbled upon this small, family-run brasserie after the Christmas market closed for the evening, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable meals of our trip. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming neighborhood feel, with an open kitchen built around a Big Green Egg grill. Nearly everything on the menu spends time over the coals, which gives the dishes a deep, delicious smoky character. We ordered a bottle of Gigondas and started with a soup that had been finished on the barbecue. It arrived rich, savory, and lightly smoky, topped with the house-smoked salmon. It was the fabulous. For my main course, I chose the leg of lamb, which the owner told us had been sous-vided for hours before being grilled and smoked. The result was outstanding. The lamb was tender, deeply flavorful, and easily the best I have had in a long time. My wife ordered ravioli filled with porcini mushrooms, served with grilled king mushrooms, smoked almonds, and a mushroom broth finished in the Egg. The flavors were earthy, aromatic, and perfectly balanced, and she loved every bite. For dessert, we shared a cheese plate paired with glasses of Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise. The wine was sweet and floral and matched beautifully with the cheeses. What truly elevated the experience was the people who run the restaurant. The owners were warm, genuine, and clearly proud of their craft. Before we left, we took a photo with them, and it felt less like a tourist stop and more like being welcomed into a local dining community. Between the cozy atmosphere, the wood-fired cooking, and the heartfelt hospitality, this brasserie delivered an exceptional dining experience. It is the kind of place you remember long after the meal ends, and we would happily return.

We had dinner here on New Year's Eve 2025 and we were thrilled. The appetizers, the main course (Chateaubriand), and the desserts were all delicious. The service was also excellent. If we're ever in town again, we'll definitely come back. 👍🏼

We had a fabulous New Year’s Eve dinner here. The restaurant was packed full of diners, and the staff were super busy yet the quality from the kitchen was maintained throughout our evening. A great bottle of red from Veneto added to our fine evening before moving on to Museumplein for the fireworks.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere warm, and the service outstanding. We had a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner.

Everything is good, but the price is too high for my liking, and the portions are too small, which is a shame. It's still a good restaurant, though!

Any normal person who orders one of their dishes expects what's written on the menu; here they serve minuscule cuts, come having eaten dinner at home or you'll go hungry.

nice food, but not the nicest waitress

The food here is genuinely very good, but the portions are surprisingly small for the price. The octopus, for example, amounted to barely four bites — at other places, the same price usually gets you a full, generous tentacle. It almost feels like they cut it in a way that hides how little you’re actually getting. The beef was also delicious, but again, quite small considering the cost. Even the crème brûlée was the tiniest I’ve ever been served. Another downside was the noise level. The table next to us was talking extremely loudly, which made it hard to enjoy the meal.

We first came here 8 years ago. When we were finally back in Amsterdam, a return visit to Sent was a must. What can we say? The meat was perfect, as always. I've never eaten a comparable Chateaubriand anywhere else in the world. The steak tartare appetizer and the gin and tonic sorbet dessert were also unbeatable. Unfortunately, this time we had a very, very loud group next to us, so it was a bit too noisy. As a result, the server misunderstood something. However, the mistake was rectified immediately. We can wholeheartedly recommend Sent. It's not exactly cheap, but always worth a visit. Thank you! 🙏

Quality - price ratio was quite good for the city, but service was rude. The waiter who brought us food explained some stuff in Dutch and we asked if he could speak in English, he rolled his eyes and left without saying anything. I don't expect chit-chat, just basic politeness.

The lamb was tender and tasty, without any odor. The restaurant isn't very big, but it has a nice atmosphere and is quiet. ^^ The other dishes were all equally delicious.

I’ve been caught by the rating on Google maps, as there are not that many places in Amsterdam that can be proud of theirs lol and it didn’t disappoint. The food was really delicious, we’ve had octopus & tartar for the starters and they were fenomenal! Totally recommend! They’re small, so one per person as a starter would work great, but if you want to be full - don’t recommend. The main dish - ravioli with mushrooms were not cooked well, so I can’t really talk abt them much.

On the most charming street in De Pijp/ Oud Zuid border, this place is so unassuming, cozy, and delivers. The cote de boeuf was perfectly flavored and the chimichurri was excellent. Perfect neighborhood spot and think best steak I’ve had in Amsterdam??

Food would have been 5 stars, but dessert felt like a scam. For 12 euros, berry "Cheesecake" was literally a tiny dome the size of a cookie, and 3 berries. It tasted good but the plate was unacceptable. I love the steaks here. It's a relaxed, unpretentious place to have good food at. Steak for two is 80 eur. Service is casual but fine.

We came here on a day trip from Amsterdam, with no plans and no reservations. I called just half an hour before opening time, and, thankfully, there was a spot available for us right at opening time, even though they were practically fully booked. We received a warm welcome and were given free seating; our coats were even hung up FOR US. The atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming, with warm and friendly service that felt like old friends. My only criticism is that I think we had every server on duty that evening at our table; unfortunately, I missed the feeling of personal service. Furthermore, it took a bit longer than I'd expected for the food to arrive. But once the food arrived, it was nothing short of excellent. The smoked sea bass was like melting butter, and the leg of lamb was perfectly seasoned with a delicious sauce (for those who prefer it). This is highly recommended, regardless of the price. An absolutely outstanding steak restaurant! 🥩 The meat was cooked to perfection – buttery tender and full of flavor, simply a true feast for the palate. The side dishes and the cuisine as a whole were also fantastic. The ambiance is a dream – stylish, cozy, and romantic at the same time; you immediately feel welcome and at ease. The perfect place for a special evening for two, but also to simply enjoy good food in a relaxed atmosphere.

Intimate, wonderful service, great food!

I visited this brasserie with my partner during our trip to Amsterdam. It was our first dinner there, and we couldn't have asked for anything better. The place has a soft atmosphere, with tables adorned with candles, which makes it all the more charming. We had excellent meat, truly delicious. The staff is fantastic and always smiling. Highly recommended.

My husband and I have lived in the neighborhood for 3 years but have not had the chance to get here until tonight. WOW! How have we missed this?! We started with the ravioli appetizer for 2. The raviolis are so well prepared and textured. They were served in this smoked broth was absolutely fantastic. Then there was the meat! The meat was so tender and delicious. The big green egg just gives it that something oh-so special. I love how they serve the Chateaubriand with béarnaise and chimichurri sauce to give you that choice between creamy and acidic for each bite. The plate that you put your meat on has a pretty little variety of sauce dots on it and a yummy potato thing too for even more variety. Oh and the frites! They were perfectly cooked. All of this served with wonderful wine pairings that our server recommended and finished off with a lemony crème brûlée. We can’t wait to come back!

One of the best meats you can get in Amsterdam. Why 2 stars? Because I left the place hungry. It's not normal to have to share one small portion of fries between two adults when the cart said that my choice included fries. Think about it.

Amazing Lamb and really lovely service

WONDERFUL place. My partner and I came here for a celebratory dinner post-Amsterdam City Swim. The place had a really lovely, cosy atmosphere, and the staff were really friendly. We ordered the steak and fries, which were beyond delicious, accompanied by a lovely glass of champagne and a glass of red wine. We had such a nice evening and have said that we'll need to come back!

Delicious chateaubriand, perfectly cooked and well-seasoned, not to mention the wonderful chimichurri. Great wine options, I love Valpolicella. I personally didn't think the Gin & Tonic sorbet was that great; a splash of Gin over ice, a bit basic. The cheesecake "ball," on the other hand, was a real hit. This is one of those restaurants that knows what they're good at and delivers. Red meat, red wine, great evening!

A restaurant to keep in mind in Amsterdam. Off the beaten path, with a very good value for money compared to the city's average. Good meat with a more than acceptable béarnaise sauce. As for desserts, the most recommended is the Creme Broule.

One of the best steaks I’ve ever had, the chateaubriand is a must have! We started with octopus and steak tartare and those we to die for, the octopus in particular was not chewy at all and had delicious flavor. The wine selection was varied and full of options 😍. The service was impeccable, the servers so fun and amazing, and the owners were so friendly and accommodating, absolutely will be going again.

Always love coming back to this place. Best steak in town by far, handmade chips, well paired wine offering all at a very accessible price. When I want to go out or impress someone, O being them to SenT!

Great service, even better food

One of the most delicious steaks I’ve ever had. It could be slightly softer, was a bit hard to chew but I mostly gulped it down 😀😀 The boned marrow alongside the steak is a very good idea.

The standout of the night was undoubtedly the Chateaubriand—expertly prepared, tender to the bite, and served with a duo of sauces that were luxuriously creamy and rich in flavor. Service was equally impressive. My server, L (regrettably, I didn’t catch the full spelling of her name), was gracious, attentive, and genuinely warm. Will definitely be back!

Go for it! The restaurant serves late, so we were able to dine at 10 p.m.! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The setting is very pleasant in the Pijp neighborhood. And above all, the food is excellent! I recommend the lamb, which was divine! (And it's really affordable, too.)

Wow- we’ve been living in Amsterdam for almost 2 years now and this was one of the best meals we’ve had so far. We had the chateaubriand (exceptional) with sides, plus a bottle of wine and crème brûlée for dessert. The service was very attentive and kind. We will keep coming back for sure.

We ordered the Chiteaubriand steak for two and a starter with smoked salmon and white asparagus. Both were wonderful. The meat was especially super tender, juicy with a nice smoky flavor from the grill. It did come a bit more on the rare side so it’s good to ask first. Good service. Staff were friendly and offered tap water when we tried to order water (which is sadly rare in Amsterdam’s restaurants today).

El Chateubriant estaba espectacular y las papas que lo q ompanaban buenísimas también , venía acompañado de un Chimichurri que le da a la carne un toque delicioso . Als je in Amsterdam GOED vlees wilt eten ga je naar SenT. De Chateau Briand, maar ook de cote de bouuf is van eenzaam goede kwaliteit en ruim bemeten portie. De sfeer is prettig, de ontvangst hartelijk, nette toiletten. Gelegen in geup-grade volksbuurt, thans yuppenwijk. Ruime parkeergelegenheid op 5 minuten lopen
