This is a lovely spot if you visit Arcen to enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee with a delicious piece of freshly baked flan, cake, or cookie. You will be served kindly here by the knowledgeable staff. And once you are rested, there are still many sights to see in the village of Arcen.

What a nice shop with friendly staff! Unfortunately, we found the orange tompoezen very disappointing. Dry and not properly flaked. A shame. We are going to try the flan another time because it looked delicious!

Fantastic bakery and eatery; this is where you get the tastiest flan. If you are in the neighborhood, you simply have to stop by and get something. You can also enjoy a cup of coffee with a treat there. The atmosphere and ambiance are perfect, and the staff are very friendly. We also took something home with us.

Coffee and authentic Limburg pie at Arcener Bakhuys is always a treat! A real treat! There's plenty to choose from in the display case; check out their website for all the varieties and freshly baked products. This time, we enjoyed the special gooseberry pie.

This is our favorite little bakery when we are in Arcen; you can enjoy a delicious coffee there with a large piece of Limburg flan—highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the sourdough bread turned out to be just brown bread, the sambal sweet chili sauce and the minced meat were nowhere to be found.

ARCEN hosts six annual weekly fairs, attracting large crowds with stalls selling fast food, clothing, jewelry, bags, belts, and other items. Arcen is beautifully situated on the Meuse River, with delicious restaurants and a lively music stand featuring live singing during the fairs. Arcen is also known for its castle gardens, which are definitely worth a visit. Best, John

Delicious pies, good bread. What could be improved is a quick greeting, even during peak hours. Waiting isn't bad, and it's understandable, but feeling like you're "invisible" in the store because everyone is busy and looking past you, I don't appreciate that.

We have been coming here for years when we spend a week's holiday near Arcen. Always excellent quality. Ordered 2 baguettes today €5.90. When we got home, both were broken, which must have been caused during packing. Normally these are wonderfully crunchy, but now they are very chewy. Too bad, but we're not used to that. staff very friendly. Hopefully better next time

Beautiful bakery where you can also sit for a cup of Lavazza coffee and a good piece of pie. Beautifully situated right on the river and in the middle of the characteristic village center of Arcen

We didn't know there was an event in the village. People are busy and not friendly. No apologies. We thought it was strange that we didn't know this. If you stand at the door with your hands full, you have to wait for someone to open the door. Better information on the site would be useful. Then we would have gone somewhere else and come back another time.

Unfortunately I can only give one star, although the food looked delicious, we wasn’t able to try it. We went in and sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. I eventually went to the counter and asked if I needed to order there or of it was table service, to be assured that it was table service. I could see that it was busy so we didn’t mind waiting a little while. Until a table of people that arrived 15 minutes after we did was served within 5 minutes. I cannot abide rudeness and in my opinion it was the hight of rudeness. We’ve been to the Netherlands 4 times in 2 years and have waxed lyrical about how wonderful and welcoming we were made to feel. What amazing people the Dutch are and how patient they are with us as we can’t speak Dutch passed a few words and please and thank you. I have no idea why we were so rudely ignored by the staff, but I’m not going to spend €60 euro on lunch in a place where we are clearly not welcome. Such a shame as it did look great.

Returning home today after a midweek Arcen. First we walked in the Maasduinen and then we wanted to have lunch in Arcen. Amenities enough. Since we bought a delicious pie at the Arcener Bakhuys yesterday, we called to see if we could have lunch there too. This was possible. Nice little lunchroom, friendly atmosphere and wide choice. After having taken a rather cuddly, animal-friendly wasp outside, we enjoyed a good lunch with coffee and tea and a glass of juice. So that you can enjoy a delicious pie at home, I brought a quarter of a rhubarb pie for tonight with coffee/tea. the Arcener Bakhuys is highly recommended for a good cup of coffee/tea, but also for lunch.

Today during our bike ride to Straelen we had tea and latte machiato with strawberry pie. In a word great!! This is a baker who does not skimp on the pieces of pie. Twice as big as your neighbor's ice cream parlor!!! The service was also very friendly and the toilets were super clean. We would love to come back here one day!!!

It's really difficult to choose what to take, because everything looks delicious. Great choice of various types of pastries and of course real Limburg pie. We opted for rice pie and gooseberries, i.e. the special variant; and we didn't regret it. Coffee and capuccino included. Then the day can't go wrong anymore. The only pity is that the terrace has no afternoon sun.

You have to take a closer look before you realize that there is a small bakery with a café here. When you come in you are greeted by a special atmosphere that takes a long time to find here in Germany! The cakes and pastries make your mouth water. I can only recommend coffee and cake to everyone. You will be helped here with a lot of friendliness and willingness to help.

Vriendelijk personeel. Op het terras voor de bakkerswinkel hebben we genoten van een lekker stuk (Limburgse) vlaai.

We came from the far north and love pie. In recent years, the quality of pie has improved considerably in the rest of the country, including the north. But... we also really like rice pie and in the rest of the Netherlands it is thinner and often comes with a thick layer of whipped cream and chocolate. The rice pie that we can sometimes buy here does not resemble the rice pie in Limburg. Fortunately, at the Arcener Bakhuys they had a rice pie without whipped cream, but a thick layer of rice. He was delicious!. We also wanted to get acquainted with real sausage rolls and on our last day in Limburg we were able to buy them from them. Thank you!

Delicious pies. Terrace very small. There is room inside. When we ordered and were sitting in the coffee area, we were told that our dog was not allowed in. How inhospitable, the dog lay quietly under the table, why shouldn't that be allowed? Perhaps because in the bakery section the pies are displayed on tables unprotected and unhygienic, so that everyone can scatter their loose hair and bacteria over them. But of course we didn't walk past that. Too bad, quality was good.

After an extensive bike tour, we stopped at the Arcener Bakhuys. The cake and coffee were good. The staff was friendly and everything was clean as we found it. You can only order and pay at Bakhuys. There is a tiny little “but”. The day before my wife had coffee and cake with a friend, which was charged at €9.50 per person. It would have been better to have addressed it straight away. So it was no longer possible to trace it without a receipt.

This bakery is located in the middle of Arcen. You can sit here inside and outside for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc. It is very cozy here. You can choose on the spot which pie you want. They are on display. So ideal. There is also a wide range of bread.

Tasty sandwiches, good prices, just had to wait quite a long time

Very cozy bakery-café in Arcen, just a few minutes' walk from the beautiful castle gardens. Huge selection of different cakes and baked goods. Both the cake and the coffee drinks that we ordered from the friendly service tasted excellent. We would come back at any time.

Delicious coffee and the pastries were certainly delicious. Definitely worth it. I come there more often, now also on the terrace!!
