We wanted to try this restaurant already for a while and finally went there last Saturday. Luckily we did book as the place was already full at 17:15. And I can imagine why as the food was really very tasty. I wouldn’t pick it only for sushi as the sushi options are limited but they are tasty. We tried the gyoza, kimchi, firecracker cauliflower, Malay gamba, sweet potato fries, prawn tempura, Thai seafood salad, Japanese beef tataki, thinly sliced t bone, mango salad, roasted duck spring roll, shrimp tornado, few nigiri, few different sushi rolls, crème brûlée, cheesy mango, twisted tiramisu, ice cream. Except for few of them, all were very tasty. The Malay gamba and firecracker cauliflower were okeish, nothing super exciting, but all rest were very good. Definitely will visit again.

Unfortunately, I'm not very impressed with this Chinese takeaway. It's like they have a trainee chef in the kitchen every time. What a waste. I've really tried it often enough now. I'm skipping this place.

Asian Spoon Zevenaar. You don't always know what and where to eat, so I thought: haven't been there in a long time, time to give it another try. The restaurant serves sushi and tapas. It is easily accessible from the A12 and has ample parking. The interior is warm and cozy. The kitchen is open. The tables and chairs could be a bit less cramped and are of an “economical” size. The service is polite, friendly, prompt, and fast. The concept is “all you can eat” without a time limit. That last part sounds nice, but I observed that most guests are finished eating after two hours. When I tried to make a reservation on the website, it was only possible for groups of two or more. Many restaurants are guilty of this: discrimination against singles. In practice, however, it has never happened to me that a table wasn't made available. But still…. The dishes must be ordered using a personal phone on the restaurant's website. Three per person per round, and then every 15 minutes. In practice, that is only ten. First of all: do not expect high-end dishes. And if some high-end dishes occasionally pass by, the kitchen deals with them expertly. For example: you won't find duck breast. Most of the menu revolves around chicken and shrimp in all kinds of variations. Serving the shrimp at the right moment is a failure. They probably stand waiting too long for service and continue to cook. They are no longer crispy and, without exception, have a coating that raises the suspicion that they all came straight from the deep fryer. Because they are swimming in an abundance of sauce, this goes unnoticed. If you ordered sole, for example, you get a hard-fried piece of fish in such an overpowering sauce that the whole thing tastes like fries with special toppings. Sole no longer tastes like fish, and the same goes for sea bass. I ordered Chinese tomato soup twice "with roasted pork" to rule out the possibility that the kitchen had made a mistake: not a single meat. The Thai seafood salad was finely chopped, and it was impossible to distinguish what was what regarding shrimp, crab, etc. And here, too, an abundance of sauce. The stir-fried seasonal vegetables looked colorful but had barely seen a wok fire. Inedible. And stiff with salt from the broth. The chicken cubes were not tender but dry and wrapped in the inevitable coating. And so on. The Pad Thai consisted of plain noodles with bean sprouts. You ate every time hoping that the next one would be better. For dessert, I chose the mini dame blanche and the crème de brûlée. The first was flawless, and the latter had probably been sitting near spices. For a drink, I ordered FRESH orange juice. What was served was juice from a bottle and in a half-full (!) wine glass. No juicing in sight. In short: the whole experience was rubbish!

Smoke from many smokers goes inside. It is not a pleasant arrival or departure. For instance, a restaurant is not a smoke-free establishment if you are seated near an open front door. Creating a smoking area away from the front door? That would make a huge difference.

Very good years ago, but nothing is left of that. Dirty chairs, not a nice concept because you have to look at your phone the whole time to choose a dish.

First round: forgotten nasi and bami, most dishes lukewarm, no vegetables with or on them... second round and beyond: the dishes were warm and cooked through, every dish had a wow factor.

I ate here recently and really enjoyed it. The ordering system works very well: you can easily scan the menu with your phone via a QR code, and everyone can add their own dishes to the order. It is handy, though, if your phone has sufficient battery. The dishes tasted good, and thanks to the all-you-can-eat concept, you can leisurely enjoy various bites all evening. The service is friendly, attentive, and visibly does its best to make guests feel comfortable. There is also a wide selection of beers available. Additionally, the chairs are comfortable, which is nice when you are sitting at the table for a long evening. A minor point of criticism is the dessert policy. You are allowed to order a maximum of two desserts per person, and these are also tapas-sized. That will be sufficient for the average guest, but true dessert lovers might feel shortchanged by this. All in all, a cozy location with tasty food, a convenient ordering system, and hospitable staff. Definitely recommended for an evening of all-you-can-eat dining.

Three big eaters enjoyed the all-you-can-dine formula. A huge selection. We tasted more than 50 small dishes in 7 courses. Everything was beautifully presented, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The service was prompt, though perhaps a bit more personal or friendly.

Eating in is absolutely perfect!! Nothing to complain about! But takeout is a different story. The food was bland and almost cold. So takeout, which we did three times, is no longer an option. Too bad.

I had high expectations based on good reviews. The arrival was unusual. We were greeted late, as was the checkout. We waited a good five minutes. No one was monitoring the entrance/exit. It smelled musty upon entering. I've never seen such a limited menu before. And unfortunately, no sashimi. The wasabi was a kind of cream. All small things that were disappointing. The service was very friendly. That made up for it. We won't be back.

We are always helped nicely when we ask for something, and the staff are polite. The food is super tasty and always of good quality; you definitely get value for money. And even when the whole restaurant is full, you can still hear each other well. It is also nice that we can park close by so my grandma doesn't have to walk so far. This is truly our favorite restaurant.

Delicious and flavorful dishes (except for the nasi goreng with corn and peas... definitely not Asian or flavorful). Most of the staff are helpful and friendly. However, this Saturday, the service was a bit lacking. Clearing the table took too long, and we had to repeatedly ask for it ourselves. Dishes were served randomly and not at the same time. And we also found waiting 25 minutes for our dessert (which was already waiting in the display case!) excessive. No, unfortunately... we won't be coming back here anytime soon. Well, and paying 5 euros for a glass of red wine... nah.

Good food, good concept, but quite expensive, and tables for two people are often very small. This is inconvenient for tapas-style dining. Introducing a drinks package, for example, €9.99 for soft drinks, beer, and wine, would be worth considering to make the price more appealing to customers. A Christmas menu dessert rounded off a good meal.

We went out for Christmas dinner with the kids, partners, grandchild, and a friend (six adults and two teenagers). It was fantastic. Delicious food and friendly, helpful staff.

I was recently driving through Zevenaar and decided to eat there because the restaurant looked nice and had good reviews. But the meal surprised me quite a bit. The chicken satay I ate first wasn't even warm through; it was cold. The tempura was so hard. It was clear that many dishes had been prepared in advance, and that tempura had apparently been sitting out so long that it had become rock hard. The service was friendly, though. Of the dishes I tried, I quite enjoyed the fried sweet potato.

What a beautiful discovery! We are 2 canadians who speaks french, living in Germany and the owner welcomed us and started to speak in french with us. We were able to talk and it made our visit really loveable. We took the chef menu and everything was so delicious. We loved everything in the menu and we left being so full. We would go back for sure with our family.

One star for the food, two stars for the service, and three stars for the cozy restaurant atmosphere. After not being back for three years—partly due to a few unsuccessful experiences in the past—we finally planned our Christmas dinner with the team here again tonight (because all the other restaurants were full). Unfortunately, we were disappointed again. The satay was served lukewarm, the fried chicken (used as a base ingredient in many dishes) was so hard it was barely edible, and the dim sum was so cooled and dried out that we couldn't even get it out of the basket. Even the cucumber was dried out. When almost everything seems to come from pre-made packaging, it becomes difficult to serve a good and fresh meal. Perhaps many dishes are prepared too far in advance, causing the flavor to deteriorate and the ingredients to no longer feel fresh. Fortunately, some of the desserts were tasty, and the service was better than before. And despite everything, we still had a pleasant evening with our team, thankfully. It's a real shame that such a beautiful restaurant can't—or won't—offer decent quality food.

Yesterday, October 16, 2025, we had a wonderful meal at Asian Spoon. After our trip to Japan, this was a welcome surprise. What delicious dishes, each one more delicious than the last and beautifully presented. A great tasting concept. The Oikonomyaki is especially delicious. We were celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary, and we received a lovely surprise. Great service. Fantastic!!

Oct 25: Ate here again, this time with friends. Very tasty food, friendly service. It was very busy, but we didn't notice it, the food was delivered quickly and was of good quality. Sept 25: Ate here again with family for the first time in a long time, and it was delicious! Great, friendly service, you can order your dishes via QR code, and they were all of excellent quality and flavor. Two sushi orders were missing, but when she heard this, she asked if she should check with the kitchen. This was resolved perfectly. We were able to choose two desserts to finish, and we went home satisfied (and full).

We've been coming here for years and it never gets old. Every month, they offer new dishes and cocktails. The staff are all friendly and always up for a chat. There are many original dishes on the menu, and everything is delicious. You definitely need to come back more than once to get a taste of all the goodness. The last time we were there, the restaurant was packed, so reservations might be recommended. The restaurant also has ample parking on site.

Just back from a delicious meal at Asian Spoon! The flavors were truly fantastic, so authentic and fresh. I had the Pad Thai, and it was perfectly balanced—not too sweet and nicely spicy. My partner had the green curry and absolutely loved it too. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. Definitely recommended for anyone who loves Asian food in Nijmegen!

I have to be honest, I didn't find it anything special. There were no sweet potato fries. A lot of the menu is in Chinese, and I find it difficult to choose the right one. Everyone is on their phones, so conversation at the table is lost. It's very unsociable because you have to look everything up on your phone.

Initially, there was a lot of variety and refined flavors. Unfortunately, the second experience, six months later, was already a bit less so. Fewer choices and less refined flavors than the first time. We also often received the wrong dishes or only half of what we ordered. The desserts are still delicious, contemporary, and accompanied by a good coffee. A pleasant atmosphere for a large restaurant thanks to the well-designed interior. Reasonable price/quality ratio.

Super tasty food, top restaurant

We made a reservation for the Early Bird Menu. We started at 4:00 PM and left before 6:30 PM. Plenty of time for us. This was our first time here, to see if it's something we'd enjoy coming back with family. The selection is more than ample. The quality and taste are excellent. Everything is delicious. You order by phone, and the order is delivered very quickly. It got a bit busier around 5:00 PM, but that didn't affect the delivery time. The dishes continued to arrive quickly. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful location, great atmosphere, ample parking, excellent service, and above all, delicious food. Tables are quite close together and could be spaced out a bit more for privacy. You order via an app, which is simple and easy to use. Be careful not to accidentally order extras while scrolling through the menu, and double-check your order before submitting. I unknowingly ordered a Pornstar Martini, which was thankfully removed from my bill.

Asian Spoon is a cozy and atmospheric restaurant. It doesn't look like it from the outside, but once you enter, it's a beautiful and well-maintained restaurant. The staff makes a point of welcoming you warmly, primarily with humor. The food is good and served quickly. They also clear the table frequently, so your table isn't full. You can order your own food and drinks using the digital system, so you don't have to wait for service and can choose how much time you want between orders.

Asian Spoon restaurant in Zevenaar is an excellent restaurant to visit with friends or family. The concept of ordering small dishes of sushi, meat and/or salads allows you to try out new flavors. You can have as many 'rounds' of ordering as you like. Not the cheapest restaurant. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. Cutlery and menu cards aren't always the cleanest. It was another great evening with live music and delicious food. Our favorite restaurant for years. They stay relevant by regularly adjusting and adapting the menu. Last night was well organized again. Great staff, good live music with a nice atmosphere and the personal touch.

Have eaten at Asian Spoon several times. What struck me now is that a number of things that were on the menu were no longer available, such as sweet potato fries. Shrimp that are not breaded on the menu, but are breaded when you order them... carpaccio has completely disappeared. The choice is no longer huge. And what surprised me most is that you have to pay extra for a lot of dishes, while the price of more than 40 euros in the weekend is still above average.
