I found this place by chance about 3 or 4 years ago and had a latte. The aroma when you bring it close to the cup, the smooth texture, the soft taste - everything is perfect. The inside of the shop is filled with a wonderful aroma. I had the impression that the owner was always busy brewing coffee by himself, but apparently another person joined the shop three months ago, specializing in specialty coffee. I enjoyed a wonderful cup of coffee while talking about how this would probably be my last coffee in Haarlem.

Apparently it closes at 16:00, no problem, but if you are sitting down at 15:55 and the neighbors are still being served… maybe you can tell us instead of ignoring us for 15 minutes. Like literally, sorry we are closed… no worries!

Our first visit to Haarlem and we found the best coffee! We had an amazing experience at this café, the cold brew was absolutely delicious and the latte was perfect. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and best of all, our furry friend was able to join us! Highly recommended for coffee lovers

They have really good coffee and very nice and friendly staff. It is way too small, you can sit in their backyard but that is small and very deteriorated

For Coffee Aficionados ☕️ this is a must. I go there every time I am in Haarlem. The machine is everything, and the bean, and of course the owner, who loves Coffee ☕️ ❤️ and knows what he is doing. Nothing more, nothing less. Just Coffee, but just "the best"!!!!! Never tried any food... therefore, no stars on that one, but it looks nice

AX Speciality Coffee in Haarlem is a great little place for a coffee break. The cappuccinos were excellent, creamy and smooth with great flavor. The espressos were decent too, though the cappuccinos stood out more for me. One of the highlights was discovering the next-door offerings: delicious pasteis de nata and a focaccia with ham that was absolutely packed with flavor. It was a nice surprise and paired really well with the coffee. Overall, it’s a good spot with quality coffee and some tasty bites on the side. Worth a visit if you’re in Haarlem and in need of a cozy coffee break.

I had a Cortado here for the first time today and absolutely loved it. It came in a small shot glass and was perfectly balanced. both the coffee and the milk were delicious. I could really feel the owner’s passion for coffee in every detail. Even the customer next to me was enjoying the same drink, which made the experience feel even more special. I might come back again tomorrow!

Ax is the coffee bar in Haarlem With Insanely Delicious Cappuccino, the Beautiful Authentic Building "next to the butcher" has a few spots inside, a seat in front of the door and a Friendly Barista / Owner who has a passion for Coffee. Highly recommended for all coffee lovers!

Hands down this is the best coffee experience in town. By town I mean Netherlands, or Europe, or maybe the world, because I think of this place every time before having coffee anywhere else in the world. True story.

An amazing hole in the wall coffee place. Ax, the owner, was friendly and made an amazing flat white. And the banana bread was delicious. The tables down the corridor felt like Harry Potter. Super cool!

Top tent for coffee ❤️ I ordered a few cappuccinos and it was made quickly. It also tasted really good compared to other places in the area. Even the cups were of better quality. Price is also cheaper than the normal tents I go to The tent also has matcha for lovers and cakes 🧁.

I was there in Juli, definitely the best cappuccino in the Netherlands, probably the best I’ve ever had. Perfect acidity. Almost pear and orchard fruit flavours, but caramel and nutty at the same time. Organic milk frothed to perfection, beautiful latte art. Stunning atmosphere, directly on an old town street with canal view and water sounds. Perfect experience!!👍

Best coffee in Haarlem. (Point). The difference between Ax and other coffee places is that the owner makes the coffee himself and not his staff. He throws all his attention, passion, knowledge, experience and love into every cup, made for you. And you can taste that You don't come across that much anymore And that's why it's the best place for me

I love everything about this place. The fact it’s small, the variety of options and how good their coffee is. It’s relatively close to Haarlem station and if you could be lucky to have a seat, you would enjoy a nice gather. The guy who helped us was super nice and friendly

a little less milk and a little more coffee (in terms of taste) in the flat white would be perfect. it is very difficult to find a good flat white in the Netherlands if you are used to Aus ;-)

Klein, knus, gezelligheid en bovenal kwaliteit! Waarschijnlijk het kleinste koffie zaakje wat ik ken maar het is de moeite meer dan waard om even in de rij te wachten. De koffie is keer op keer geweldig en alle cakejes, koekjes en gebakjes zijn heerlijk. Absolute aanrader!

Echt goede koffie! Blij dat we dit tegen zijn gekomen. Super gastvrij en welkom gevoel. Hadden onze hondjes mee en hebben achterin gezeten gezellig. Aanrader!

Best coffee in town, als je het mij vraagt. Ax is attent, geïnteresseerd en onthoudt je bestelling als je vaker komt! Buiten op de stoeltjes of bankjes kun je lekker mensen kijken, binnen (als je geluk hebt) is het knus.

Haarlem Kruisstraat heel fijn koffie drinken bij AX specialty Coffee. Zeer sfeervol klein zaakje met een vriendelijke barista/eigenaar. Entree en winkel zijn in een oude en sfeervolle ambiance gemaakt, wat zeker bijdraagt aan de totale ervaring. Lekkere koffie en prima bediend door de barista. Gezellig kletspraatje gehouden met de eigenaar en andere klanten in de zaak. Zeer zeker een aanrader voor een bezoek, ik kom zeker terug voor een kop koffie bij AX special coffee.
