BAAI in Breda west

We rented a small boat here, everything was fine. Nice atmosphere by the water.

Had lunch at this nice location and it was okay. It is a shame, however, that the price-quality ratio here is skewed. For instance, you have to do some self-service here, but the prices are based on table service. The lunch dishes are not distinctive—let's say they are bland in taste—and that is a missed opportunity because it makes them boring and simple. For example, fried mushrooms without any added flavor are simply not exciting. The carpaccio salad was nothing more than lettuce, tomato, and cucumber with the meat on top—no dressing. So the sauce on the meat was insufficient to give the salad any flavor whatsoever. So, it is a pity; this place deserves better.

Had to wait a very long time, 45 minutes, for our lunch, which was okay; a 7 on the scale. The atmosphere and seating are very nice though. Bad service! I would give 2.5 stars.

The lunch boat was a very pleasant experience. We had a nice skipper.

I was there for a company outing. Despite our group, other guests were also perfectly happy to stay in their own private spot. Boat tours are offered there. Unfortunately, they do not include explanations of what the boat passes. There is plenty to talk about regarding the parts of Breda included in the route.

Terrible service, chaos, long waits. A year (!!!) later, you come back again. Imagine my surprise: chaos, a 45-minute wait for two portions of fries, one of which was cold. My God! #myfirstbadreview (seriously, I have never given a bad review, so here it is).

Lovely location with a nice atmosphere; there is really nothing to complain about there. However, I did find the food a bit pricey for what you get.

Nice place just outside the center. You have to get your own drinks. Ordered food and it took a very long time even though it wasn't busy; the dishes were also very simple, so it shouldn't have taken that long. It was tasty though.

The team is incredibly hospitable and happy to help you plan the best outings to combine with an amazing boat trip through beautiful Breda. The staff is extremely friendly. I received such great help here with the surprise I had planned for my date that a good review isn't really enough to express my gratitude. Thank you Baai Breda! <3

We had a surprise party. We had a lunch boat. It was very well-catered for, with sandwiches, sweet snacks, fruit, and drinks. The captain was very nice and enthusiastic. Fantastic!

Only did the boat trip with drinks so cannot judge the food

Rented a 6-person sloop, no license required. Excellent explanation and service, easy to navigate. We received a map with a route that was easy to follow. We even received a container of ice cubes, even though we had our own groceries for the boat. Definitely worth doing again!

Beautiful location for a summer day. We moored our boat, enjoyed some tasty snacks, and enjoyed a mocktail.

Unique location, cozy on the water

Despite the mediocre weather, it was a wonderful place to be. Plenty of choice for seating. The sandwich was truly delicious. Quite spicy, but exactly what I like. A few comments: the sandwich was served on a plate with a decorative paper sheet underneath. Inconvenient. It gets wet, crumples, and tears. That can't be the intention. It didn't detract from the taste of the delicious sandwich, though. The menu also listed a beer with 6.9% alcohol, but it later turned out to be 5.6%. That did influence my choice. But all in all, a nice place with pleasant music to chat and enjoy a quiet moment.

It was a Thursday, but everything was full. Only a few standing places remained. It seemed like there were a lot of team-building/bachelorette parties. It's a nice place, though, as you can relax on the lounge sofas by the water with a drink.

The location is good. You sit nicely at the water. And it also looks cozy. The service and the food are unfortunately a lot less. The food is also expensive for what you get. Too bad for such a beautiful spot.

A lovely open-air bar with a beautiful and peaceful view. The staff is friendly, and the music and drinks create a great atmosphere. However, the prices are a bit on the higher side, and they don’t offer Belgian beers or any from well-known brands, which was a bit disappointing as a visitor from Belgium unfamiliar with their selection. It’s best to visit during the summer for the full experience, as it can get chilly otherwise. Looking forward to returning on a sunny summer day to relax and enjoy!

Dishonest owner. We had been given an unmanageable boat. We had to wait an hour before someone from management wanted to speak to us, even though he had been there the whole time. The operator refuses to sail the boat, well then it would turn out that it is unmanageable, and refuses to reimburse us (only the unconsumed drinks were returned). The operator eventually just walked away and then threatened that we should be happy that the deposit would not be withheld.

UPDATE After 2 months and many attempts to finally get in touch with Baai, they are getting their money's worth. The deposit will be refunded, but on the condition that the bad review is removed. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way, if you try to defraud people in advance with bad intentions, you also have to suffer when you meet the wrong person. But Bay, here's an update on your dealings with 'customers'. Rented a boat, bad service. Received poor help and afterwards they try to withhold the deposit. Had a big discussion after she tried to recover the damage that was already present from our deposit. Very bad people. If you want to be treated unfairly, you should rent a boat here…

We did not stay there. We wanted dinner without putting our eardrums at risk :))) Thus we made a turn on our heels ;-)

Plek is leuk en daarmee ook alles gezegd. Eten is dramatisch, tafels vies en worden niet afgeruimd. Uiteindelijk gewoon slecht. Er valt zoveel moois uit deze plek te halen

Prachtig weer, heerlijke boottocht op de singels en de Mark, kortom genoten van de tocht op zich. Ook de ligging van de BAAI is idyllisch en gezellig. Service van de bediening prima, snel en attent. Echter ophalen van leeggoed en schoonmaken tafels etc is wel,voor verbetering vatbaar. Eten meenemen aan boord werd ook netjes verzorgd. Al met al gezellig en een mooi uitje.

Anti-customer policy with their outdoor activities unfortunately

This has been a meeting point for many people since day one. They have a dock and you can rent boats. They organize events and play cool music from time to time. Can be very crowded and noisy st the weekends.

Voor de verjaardag van mijn man een bootje gehuurd en aansluitend hapje drankje gedaan. Mooie locatie, gemakkelijk online te boeken. Goed geregeld en kregen goed hulp om 2 slecht ter been personen in en uit de boot te helpen. Bij de boten voor 6 of 8 -10 kun je zelf sturen wat als cadeau nou juist het leuke was. Budgettair was het ook fijn dat je voor op de boot zelf eten en drinken mee kon nemen. ( Klein tasje blikjes en een doos bonbons is tijdens die 2 uur op het water echt wel goed). Naderhand diverse hapjes en een drankje per persoon op het ponton aan de waterkant. Lekker, vlotte bediening gezellig en goed geregeld. Bestellen aan de bar waar je drinken gelijk mee neemt zelf en hapjes werden gebracht, alleen pin betaling. Al met al een leuke ervaring, zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Mijn man kreeg eens wat anders dan een cadeaubon of artikel, na 58 jaar is cadeaus bedenken best moeilijk. Maar dit is dus een aanrader!

Cruise with lunch. Joris, the captain, told many facts about Breda in a fun way. Unfortunately we had some rain but plushies and ponchos were provided. A paper plate and napkin with lunch would be useful. And for 8 people it is better to have mini sausage rolls, mini apple turnovers and mini brownies instead of fewer large pieces. Then everyone can just grab something. Everything else is great at the Bay.😀

Rented a boat for a bachelor party. Unfortunately the deposit was not returned. Baai stated that we suffered damage, while that was absolutely not the case. Update: After a lot of back and forth emails and calls, we finally received the deposit back after more than 5 weeks. All this was a very difficult process.

We had reserved a boat on the spot, at one of their locations a little further away, there was room available in half an hour. We went shopping and had to withdraw money because we could only pay in cash. When we returned, the place had suddenly been reserved by someone else, so we were not allowed. There was an offer that we could sail at the end of the day while they were actually closed. Strange way of doing business... Then we walked to the main location, the lady behind the bar was very friendly and tried to arrange something, but unfortunately it didn't work. Ultimately we went on the cruise, but we were not allowed to consume the lunch/drinks we had purchased and had to pay for the trip by card, because cash was not allowed. Cruise was fine, nice to see the city from the boat, skipper was friendly but didn't know much about the sights. So after the cruise we immediately left to eat our lunch. The tent looked cozy.

Please note that if you want to rent something here, take pictures of all scratches and damage because they will sew you right in front of you (they will report damage to you that was already there or never was).

Boating looks great and fun there

We had a great bachelor party with 25 people at BAAI, the boat looked good, the food was delicious and there was more than enough drinks! Top location with a nice terrace. The contact in advance was especially good, they thought a lot about what we wanted and they were flexible with scheduling :)

Last Saturday team outing on the BBQ boat. There you pay 74.95 PP. Text on Bay's site promised a lot of good things. We were looking forward to it. Well unfortunately it was just disappointing. 5 piece(s) of meat PP. Baguette with a little herb butter. 2 sauces. You had 1 type of beer and some soft drinks. White wine and rosé. All in all, absolutely not worth 74.95 PP. So we were still hungry afterwards. It's better to just go out for a nice meal where you get value for your money. Gas bottle was not sitting quite right. Then it personally asks if any of us know how to connect it!? Compliments to the skipper. Furthermore, very once, but never again.

At the beginning we received little or no explanation about the boats and then set off, which did not go well. Only after 30 minutes of messing around did we receive help. And then afterwards we don't get the deposit back because we caused damage, even though we didn't collide with anything. We are extremely dissatisfied with poor communication about this. Don't rent a boat here!

Can I have 2 toasted sandwiches and 2 cokes please, that will be €29,- Sir. Excuse me?!? Then I also expect very good toasted sandwiches for €11.50 each. Unfortunately the two slices of bread were as thick as 4 fingers. With 2 pathetic slices of cheese. Melted in the oven, I think. A pathetically small and far too salty piece of ham, which was also fried in the pan. There was no sauce and the rest of the plate contained a mountain of rabbit food. No... for me it's Bye Baai. Never, Never, again!!

Had a company outing. Cozy place, friendly employees. We chose the Escape City Game as an activity, which was generally quite vague, but fun. The lunch boat was also well organized, although the food did not exactly match the allergies and dietary requirements. They were on the other boat. All in all we had a nice day, despite the too hot weather.

I expected a little more from the food. The atmosphere was good. I actually liked the locker games.
