BackWerk in Oude Stad

I thought about getting a nice sandwich at Backwerk. Well, unfortunately, that wasn't going to happen. What an arrogant attitude those employees have. The women, in particular, seem like they'd rather you leave than be loved. A real missed opportunity for this sandwich shop.

The sandwiches have less and less filling inside every time I visit. The Kaas gezond baguette now has 2 pieces each of egg, tomato and cucumber for €5,50! Dreadful value, so I've given up. I had a coffee last week, and I'm sorry to say it's as rough as Starbucks now. The staff are always friendly & pleasant though. They must deal with a lot of complaints, but always manage a cheery greeting. If you head through the station to Albert Heijn at the back, you won't get so badly ripped off for a freshly-made sandwich. Really give this place and its sister outlets a miss.

I buy my sandwiches here almost every day. The service is excellent, and the sandwiches are delicious and fresh. I recommend it to everyone.

I just got a cream cheese bagel, but it was completely sour. I tried calling the store, but no one answered. I was at the station, and my train was arriving, so I couldn't make it back. The lady who helped me was very friendly, though.

It's an excellent option on the go. They don't have the same concept as other shops, but they have a wide variety of breads and sandwiches, both vegetarian and vegan. The smoothies are made in the morning. They have good and affordable options: coffee and croissants for €3.95.

What a meager sandwich. It tasted like it had been there for 2 weeks and it was half cooked.

TERRIBLE! I was hungry so I had a sandwich here. Worst choice ever. The bread was as dry as cardboard, the filling tasted like nothing. And the price is as expensive as a hair transplant! If there was an option for 0 stars, I'd choose that!

I went here every day before work to get a sandwich. I am a vegetarian and often had the egg salad sandwich. I've had it 3 times now that suddenly there is pacetta or bacon on it. So I always look very carefully now. Because this can differ from day to day. If you say something about it, they say yes, head office doesn't know what he wants. Very annoying. I just walked back in hoping for a veggie sandwich. But unfortunately again Meat on the egg salad. And only 1 other vegetarian option. Which I just don't like. Head office or manager make a choice about that sandwich. With or without meat. And make sure there are plenty of vegetarian options. Very dissatisfied

Super tasty sandwich, just picked it up before school. Fresh and lots of choice!

Most meager sandwich I got for 5 euros, which I also had to wait a long time for as almost all those bread bins were empty. Not satisfied.
