The best sourdough bread in the neighbourhood. Friendly staff and efficient. Only con: dogs are not allowed inside :(

It's a real shame, the store constantly has a very foul smell that just won't go away. This problem has been going on for almost a year, and nothing has been done about it. It's annoying for the customers, but not as bad as it is for the employees who have to work in that smoke for several hours at a time.

It's expensive, but very, very delicious! We were impressed by the incredible crispiness. The staff was also very friendly.

Here you can find the Best Bread ever: Hollands Nature (only mondays and wednesdays) I love it!! Also one of the girls waited for me a bit after 17:00 so that I could pick up my order 🫶🏻🫶🏻really sweet they are always super nice and their bread and croissants are amazing!! i ve been coming to this bakery for 4 years now (at the location in oud zuid, zandvoort and the maasstraat) and its amazing

As French person living in amsterdam, I’m so excited every time I go to this bakery as their croissant, baguette etc is as good as what I could find back home. Service is always great whether I speak English or try to practice my Dutch. Fully recommend.

I've been coming here for quite a while, and it's really going downhill. The croissants, cheese sticks, and chocolate rolls are often burnt in the mornings (and they're not cheap either). Sometimes in the morning, there aren't even any croissants available. Standing in the long line is often not worth it. Yesterday, I paid for my croissants in cash, and didn't get enough change from the vending machine. "They didn't have any change left," I was told to come back. Well, I came back from my night shift to get a croissant. Ridiculous! So bad.

Delicious sandwiches, quite high priced especially the extras like chocolate or home made muesli. But all very tasty.

Way too long queues and certainly in the mornings on weekends. I walked out several times. Tip: It is not so much about the staff, but mainly about the number of employees. See if you can better handle peak hours on weekends and mornings. If you use a junior, you cannot count on that capacity. Hope you can do something with this and get started

Been buying breads and fresh bakes from here the last few years, as our local neighbourhood bakery. The breads are delicious! Our favourites are the sourdough, croissants, cheese sticks, cinnamon buns and fresh coconut cookies that are absolutely delicious. They also do great apple pie and chocolate cake. Definitely on the pricier side and service can be a hit or miss, but generally we have had a good experience here.

The bread is outstanding. Maybe best baguette in Amsterdam. But also the worst service, every time. Tip to owners: get a customer service professional in to train staff or hire people who want to work — people who are willing to make eye contact, smile and say hello, answer questions (and know about bread), and who hustle when it’s busy. The change will transform your business and the people who visit. Sadly, when I visit now, I leave frustrated. Means I often just don’t stop on my way past.

I had a lovely pain au chocolat sold by a very friendly employee, even checking for me if it is still crunchy in the afternoon 🫠

Regarding taste this is actually a pretty descent bakery. Since they have become more busy, their overal attitude has really become pretty awfull, arrogant and rude. One thing if they would be working their ass of when it's busy, but they work at an extremely slow pace and if you have any questions about their products they get upset. Shame

Great bakery with lots of delicious products

We are deeply shocked by the quality of products in this place. We have bought a bread and a chocolate bun there. To our terrible surprise bun had a (very) sharp piece of metal inside! How is it even possible? What other dangers can we expect here?

I wanted to pay for my products and the cash register cannot give change. No offer from the seller. Left with nothing at 10am. When we have a business we ensure that the customer can pay in happy money if it is permitted!! The basis

Reasonable bread, but unhealthy range, very expensive and always a queue, partly due to the constant changes of staff. We long for a second bakery nearby...

Very tasty bread and great service. No wonder there is often a queue in the morning. Recommended are the croissants, chocolate rolls, sourdough baguettes and the foam cake.

I have been buying my bread and tasty pastries here for years, but today I feel sorry for the sweet, smiling and hardworking employee and I am very disappointed in this company. How can a new face manager in front of other employees and customers bring such a nice girl down like that. Is this the female Mathijs van Nieuwekerk. A shame. I hope this girl finds a workplace where she is appreciated. And I, as a customer, will miss this radiant, heart-working employee, but no one should work for a company where they make fun of you like that.

Really super disappointed and quite angry that my order for Mother's Day has not arrived. I stood in line specifically for it 2 days in advance and ordered a Mother's Day version of the hazelnut meringue pie. Made my mother happy that she was spoiled on Mother's Day with the hazelnut foam cake she loved. So NOTHING!!! Really really bad!!!

Adorable neighbourhood bakery, we got the sourdough loaf, it lasted for three days and was as fresh. The chewiness, aroma, texture ah everything about the load was perfect. Ideal pairing for tons of snacks and dishes

A nice bakery with good bread but very focused on basic bread only. I went on a Sunday morning but the offer in small breads was Limited and not so good. The bread I bought was good but not spectaculair, a whole lot better than supermarkt bread though so still worth going

Very nice bakery but the employee couldn’t tell me which grain the bread consisted of, resulting in me going out with the wrong bread and buying less than I intended to that day.

Rude little boy who know nothing about bread and pastry he was eating and talking. No hi no thank you his friend who was sitting there handing was more polite than him! Also very small variety of bread! Never again!

I love this bakery so much. One of the best in the neighborhood, their bread and treats are always impressive. The employees are all very helpful. Even though the bakery has several locations, this location feels like a part of the community.

What a party. Everything is too delicious. Not cheap, but quality costs money. If you don't understand that, it is indeed better to get your bread at the supermarket. The cheese sticks and pretzels are really delicious.

Excellent pastry and coffee. Wonderful granola cookie. We had a taste of the red velvet cake and it was dense and delicious!!! Great friendly service too.

During Covid we would regularly pick a coffee and bread from here. We love the freshness of the products here. Today we took friends to the bakery. We ordered croissants and coffee . I like my coffee strong and hot and Floor made the best coffee. We asked her to warm our croissants and they tasted so good. I totally recommend this bakery for friendly staff and fresh products.

Really good products. The service sometimes were a bit hectic. The staff would change often and the service would vary from the best to the medium quality.

De vriendelijke en deskundige dames zijn soms met andere zaken bezig dan de klanten. Goede kwaliteit brood!

Ja bakkerij van Vessem,wat kan ik daar nou over zeggen? Heerlijke gevulde koeken,(echte) lekkere kwarkbroodjes, maw topbakkerij ,brood zonder,en met gluten,vrij van van alles.,en de klap op de vuurpijl brood van Spaans of Frans koren,spelt uit spelgie,nee ff serieus goede bakker met lekkere verantwoordelijke waren,ze hebben zelfs een prijs gewonnen!
