Bakker van Maanen in Nieuw-Vennep

Very impressed by this bakery! Especially the tampuce of the week, a new flavour of tampuce every week, how amazing is this! There are also other good looking cakes. Very pleasantly surprised by this place, and people are super friendly.

Products are good, but wow, they (like many others) have become incredibly expensive in such a short time. Bread is almost becoming a luxury item. It's really nice that they regularly give children a currant bun.

I am a huge fan of Bakker van Maanen! Their products are top quality and you can taste that everything is made with love and craftsmanship. The croissants are nice and fluffy, the cakes are finger-licking good and the bread is always fresh and tasty. The staff is also always friendly and helpful. If you are looking for really good bakery products, you should definitely visit Bakker van Maanen in Nieuw-Vennep. Super tasty and definitely worth it!

Moldy bulb saga: After noticing earlier that bags of white bulbs were sometimes frozen (and having reported this several times in the store), we experienced the following yesterday and today: I bought a bag of small bulbs late in the afternoon, and in the evening, it turned out there were specks/spots of mold on the bulbs (see photos), which is quite unusual for so-called fresh bulbs, but oh well. This morning I went back to the store in Getsewoud and reported that the bulbs bought yesterday were moldy. So far, everything went well, but the employee insisted that the bulbs were fresh and that this shouldn't be possible. We walked to the shelf where, to our surprise, there were even more similar bags of bulbs with mold. They still insisted that everything was freshly replenished, even with proof of several bags of mold. The excuse was that this can happen due to the heat. I think the Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority has a different opinion on this! It shouldn't be the case that fresh rolls come out of the freezer, or even get moldy in a bakery, and then they take no responsibility or offer an apology. After 15 years as a loyal customer, we're unfortunately looking for another "hygienic" and reliable bakery. Mistakes happen, but please take action and responsibility for them, and don't give trivial explanations that are immediately dismissed.

Very friendly staff. They greet all customers as "you." Delicious products at Van Maanen bakery. Fresh daily. Delicious fresh bread to enjoy for breakfast or lunch.

Such bad apple fritters!!!! NEVER again for us

Quality products! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Piggy savings system. The lighting gives off a cool feel despite the warm brown colors of the interior. If the staff is standing behind the counter when there are no customers, it makes you feel less welcome when you enter the store (as if you're interrupting them).

Apple fritters cost half as much (€ 2.25 each) than in a luxury pastry stall that still contains whole apple slices! We would also like to give the small shops a livelihood. Fried air with a little apple puree, much too expensive and certainly not a quality product!

Unfortunately, we are back to square one, the hazelnut meringue pie is back to the way it was, lots of greasy cream and little foam and hazelnut. Very unfortunate, but better for the line, because I don't have to buy those anymore...... Bah! WOW!!!!! The hazelnut cake FOAM cake turned out so incredibly delicious. Wow... lots of hazelnut, much more foam, not too much cream but it was very tasty, very tasty (but bad for the line of course), nice layers, but people, what an improvement compared to before! I don't want anything else anymore, super, really super tasty - never change the recipe again! My grandson even left his Sinterklaas pastry for the hazelnut meringue. I am a fan:-)
