Bakkerij Gorthuis in Hoofddorp

We slipped out of Schipol airport early morning after landing from the US, and stopped at this bakery after walking through the nearby park to get some breakfast to enjoy with the sheep and chickens at the park's farm/petting zoo between our flights. Overwhelmed by the choice of breads and deli meat/cheese, the staff were extremely friendly, excellent English, made us a couple of sandwiches from our choices. Locals love the place, joked with us that we'd be back in another hour for more. Just a fun quick local experience during international layover -- 15-20 min walk from the train station, direct from Schipol airport. I was not disappointed that we chose a stop in this village instead of trying to rush through old Amsterdam with our limited time.

A very nice baker has delicious bread and pastries.

I love chipolata cake, so I decided to order this cake for my husband for his birthday. I asked for a round cake in blue. I asked 10 times to make sure we understood each other. The answer was yes. They even called the baker to clarify. In the end, I got a rectangular cream cake 🤦‍♀️ with double fondant, first transparent, then blue. The photo shows how it looked when cutting the cake 🤦‍♀️. I can make a cake like this myself with dry mix and a jar of cream from the supermarket. This cake cost 35€ for 12 pieces. I would have been better off just getting 12 pieces of chipolata. I've learned my lesson.

The best, tastiest, healthiest, and most delicious bread in Hoofddorp.

Delicious, two ancient rolls for €1.30 each. Unfortunately, it wasn't the first time, so this was the last.

Great bakery, super sweet owners and staff. Everything they make is delicious 😋 We only eat bread from Bakkerij Gorthuis now. Also very convenient to buy at Jumbo!

The cheese croissants and the butter cake are really my favorite!

Here you can get the tastiest filled cookies

Always tasty bread, a neat shop, super fresh bread and very friendly and helpful staff

Delicious products and friendly staff 😃. I have previously bought some tasty treats from another bakery, whose name I will not mention, but leave those tasty treats out, not to be done. Once upon a time but never again 😤 Keep up the good work Gorthuis bakery 👍👍👍 Nowadays Bakkerij Gorthuis also offers various regional products, such as delicious fresh milk, fresh drinking yoghurt and various types of delicious creamy ice cream. 😃 Enjoy it again. 😋

Bakery is selling less and less choices over time sadly, like cured ham, cheese, which is a real miss. They should provide more relevant choices for breakfast and lunch. The (lady) owner is really not friendly at all somehow, no clue why, been coming there for years, not really sure what the problem is?! Don’t give feedback, they get very defensive, angry, and won’t listen to the feedback anyway. That said, most of the food/products is of great quality! Of course, far too pricey, but that is choice of course.

Friendly help, they are not afraid to make a tasty sandwich, but unfortunately no cucumber, tomato and lettuce, so the big sandwich is delicious

It is that they sell such delicious bread, but the service and customer friendliness is unfortunately very lacking at this bakery! What a sour plums there during the week, you could do with being a bit more customer friendly. In any case, I will never come to this bakery again, you have lost a good customer!

What delicious sandwiches, friendly staff. Keep it up

Bakery, supplier, brought a sandwich, it tasted delicious, especially in the crust!!!

Friendly employees. Very tasty bread.

We were helped well and very friendly by the saleswoman. White Sourdough and raw Bolster Sourdough taste good to us.

Super nice staff, breads are legendary. I mean think, almost every bread they make has a crust so crispy and delicious 😋 you just think they are masters of the crust. Lots of other variations, you can set yourself a quality breakfast before your day starts. Highly recommended.

Heerlijk brood, zeer prettige bediening en hele sociale eigenaars. Denken ook aan de minder bedeelden. Kom er al jaren. (Gerard)

Empfehlenswert!

Altijd goed, lekker ambachtelijk. De glutenvrije stroopwafels zijn heerlijk!

Delicious bread and pastries, opens early morning. Be sure to try the "desem" bread.
