The rye bread is very disappointing; it's not real rye bread, dry and too loose in texture. Rye bread is supposed to be "tender," but this was more like something from a factory. I'm a granddaughter of a true Frisian baker, and rye bread is sacred to us. Incidentally, I get the impression that this baker no longer bakes himself, at most buys and bakes bread, and is more focused on pastries.

Great bakery! Good and fast service, fresh daily. And don't forget to order the wrap cake or a "delicious little man"!

It's been a while since we stayed overnight at Landal Huizen and ordered from them. What a huge disappointment. We ordered on Sunday for delivery on Monday. Sausage rolls, a regular croissant, a chocolate roll, sunflower seed spelt bread, apple turnover, Kitty, a filled cookie, and chocolate truffles. The sausage rolls were tough and stone cold, just like the regular croissants. Apparently, they were out of chocolate rolls, so we got a cheese croissant instead, and why a cheese croissant?! How can they be gone when you have to order in advance? The filled cookie and apple turnover weren't fresh either, and the chocolate truffles were too small. The sunflower seed bread was okay but nothing special. It was clear that everything had been baked for the weekend and kept refrigerated. Which is simply unacceptable for a bakery that claims to be a top-notch baker and charges high prices. The baker didn't respond to my email about my experience. Such a shame.

Got bread on January 3rd. NOT fresh! Only after paying did I discover the bakery was still closed after the holidays. It's ridiculous that a baker sells stale bread; it should have been freshly baked that day!
