What a terrible bakery! If you have no taste, go to Vonken! What cheap, factory-made junk. And then there's the often grumpy staff. Honestly, it couldn't be worse.

Not exactly customer friendly while you come to get a pie for almost 30 euros, next time I will go to another shop with friendlier staff

It almost sounds like a mantra, but far too often I've bought things here that made me think they'd already been in the store for days. They also have a lot of room for improvement in terms of customer service. I'd rather go abroad. It's truly fresh there. On August 1, 2025, I gave it another try. Almost against my better judgment. They've made a big leap forward in terms of customer service, albeit backwards. Wow! The look on the girl behind the counter almost made me want to apologize for bothering her. It took a while before she helped me, by the way. Perhaps she was hoping I'd leave? Bread, rolls, and two pastries. "Ten euros for 5!" A colleague of hers did shout "please!" after that, mind you. And that bored look again... This is awful...

We go there often. A delicious slice of pie and a nice cup of coffee. Good price. Definitely worth it. It's also a good place for older people to enjoy a nice cup of coffee.

First time, but definitely not to be repeated. From small things like the shape of the cups in which you get the cappuccino, to the bigger things like a tosti that is not toasted long enough (bread is still white), but also the choice on the menu when you sit down. You are encouraged to order via butleroo, but a simple tuna sandwich, or the well-known lekkerbek from Voncken cannot be ordered this way. Because of the crowds as well as our own time pressure, I thought: I'll just eat it, otherwise it will take even longer. The taste itself was okay, which makes up for that one star.

Way too expensive for a piece of custard and coffee, but tasty, service was rude when asked a normal question.

wonderful place, but unfortunately there is always some mistake or deficiency, they forget, mix up the order, the payment app doesn't work. other than that the staff was very nice, the food was excellent, we had a great time there. we will definitely go back. let's say I had to order 2 portions of breakfast because it was too little, but that's just personal preference

Verjaardag man met een ontbijt gevierd. Zoals altijd weer heerlijk en vriendelijke bediening 👍🏻 Wij waren er met een vriendin en hebben er een gezellige morgen van gemaakt, met later nog koffie met gebak.

Not sure what I bought, but definitely not a chocolate croissant!!! That’s more a like smudge of whatever dark stuff they put inside there!!! The emptiness is screaming inside of that monster cave.

Slechte kwaliteit! Broodjes was niet vers en zeker niet smakelijk. En dat voor bijna €9,00. Koffie kregen we pas toen het eten op was en nadat we navraag hadden gedaan kregen we de mededeling “dat de kopjes op” waren. Slechte zaak. Een broodje en twee cappuccino’s voor bij €18,00! We gaan er nooit meer heen.

Price - quality are far apart here. In fact, breakfast and lunch are way too expensive. There is always something to offer in the service here. Either you get a lukewarm coffee or latte macchiato or you get served a warmed-up but still ice-cold hamburger. If you point this out to the staff, you will receive the answer "go get them" and an indecent attitude from the staff. We had to send the burgers back up to 3 times because they were ice cold, even frozen. After which we even got stomach complaints! Don't think you will get an apology or a refund....

Simple ham cheese toastie was squashed, little garnish with dressing looked pitiful. For the price € 9.95 I think it is too expensive. For the rest we are satisfied.

Signs saying plenty of parking, it's almost all reserved for a another shop. Go ask for a sandwich without sauce.. we don't have that. Ask for viral apple crumble... we don't have that anymore. OK bye then. Felt like I was a bother, not a customer.

Dear Mr Voncken, I regularly have breakfast or lunch in Kerkrade (main location) and pick up bread/pastries. Definitely not cheap, but products are fine. Beautiful location and, in my experience, the friendliest staff. Lost my faith this morning; I went to get 2 half custards for the road builders who are working in Benzenrade. I asked to cut the custard. Employee "That is possible sir, but it costs an extra 1.00". Please ???? * you pay proportionately more for half a custard than for one whole custard. Understandable * You also pay (see now on the receipt) for the box. Madness. How else should I take a custard? * And I pay 1 euro extra for cutting. Service level apparently dropped below freezing. Pure profit apparently a driven company Mr Voncken, Do you never know the story of the caterpillar enough? Suits you exactly.

For me, Voncken bakery is a place of rest: if you go here, you know that the food/drinks, service and atmosphere are good. I would love to come back here again, partly because the staff is nice and communicates well.

Ben met mijn man en vriendin geweest,bediening was op zich vriendelijk.Maar toe ik mijn sieke kipsalade kreeg voorgeschoteld vroeg ik waar de kip gebleven was.Zeer ondergewaardeerde kipsalade,ze lachte even en liep weg Naderhand toen ons tafelrje werd opgeruimt herhaalde ik dit tegen een andere medewerkster dat de salade veelste duur was naar wat ik kreeg.Ook hier werd niks mee gedaan,terwijl ze zei dat de baas ook nog rondliep Van mijn man moest ik mijn mond houden want hij zou hier toch niet meer teruggaan Want anders....

Waar is de klantvriendelijkheid gebleven en zoveel dingen al op. Bijzonder jammer voor een zo’n mooie vestiging, waar ik absoluut anders van gewend ben.

Mediocre, take away or eat here options vary enormously. Machine cappuccino very pricey and not special. Had a spicy taco sandwich, spicy was hard to find. People are waiting next to you to prey on your table...One-time experience. Shame

Het is me al vaker opgevallen dat de medewerkers tijdens de lunch het geheel niet onder controle hebben met bedienen van de lunchroom en klanten die lunchbroodjes komen halen. De medewerker die mij bediende wist blijkbaar het verschil niet tussen een broodje hamburger en broodje gehaktbal. Na 2 keer gevraagd te hebben of ze wel de juiste broodjes had gepakt werd ik afgewimpeld met het antwoord dat ze heus wel wist hoe die eruit zagen. Maar ik had ipv broodjes hamburger dus broodjes gehaktbal gekregen. Mijn reclamatie hierover werd weer weggewimpeld door dezelfde verkoopster en toen uiteindelijk mw. Voncken in hoogsteigen persoon zich ermee kwam bemoeien werd mij gewoon medegedeeld door haar dat ik deze bestelling moest nemen en niks anders kreeg. Geen vraag om uitleg of enige blijk van empathie, gewoon wegwezen. Schaam u diep mw. Voncken!!! Zo ga je echt niet met klanten om.

Definitely worth a visit if you fancy Limburg pie and are still in the area because you are visiting snowworld, for example. Friendly staff and good coffee and sandwiches. Easily order and pay for food via QR code.

Was extremely busy. It was not clear whether the waiter at the table came to take the order. Could be stated more clearly. When we placed the order at the cash register, we unfortunately had to wait a long time for the food. The people who came after us and ordered via QR code received their food before us. After I asked at the cash register where the food was, they found out that our order had been ready for a long time.

You can sit there very comfortably, outside and inside. That's the positive. Lunch wasn't really that great. Omelette with bread was way too salty. The croquettes, on 2 slices of bread, were so tough that I had to cut a lot to get through them. All in all, it's a shame because the atmosphere is great.

It is very cozy, clean, attractive, the staff is nice and there is plenty of parking space. Highly recommended!

To this day we have enjoyed breakfast here often. The quality of the products is good. Despite the rather high prices, we were always very satisfied. Today, however, we waited over 30 minutes for a Strammen Max. When I politely asked after 30 minutes if it would take longer, I was told that it was my turn. After another 5 minutes the food came. The quality was good again. I think 35 minutes of waiting is definitely too long. I will consider having breakfast here again in the future if I have other appointments. Too bad.

Unfriendly service.....ordered 2 healthy sandwiches without asking, brown baguette instead of white and you needed a saw so badly. Not worth repeating.

Large cup of coffee for that price

Always pleasant there to discuss, hold and eat.

The place is nice. We were there and each wanted a piece of cake and a coffee. When we chose something at the counter, we were told that you couldn't cut a single piece of the cake. We were with 4 people. You have to buy the whole cake or at least buy half of it. We have never experienced this anywhere. This can not be true. Everywhere else you can choose individual pieces of cake with your coffee. We were there at 4pm and the place closes at 5:30pm. Then you can imagine what happens afterwards to the cakes that were not sold in full or in half. Ordering at the table is not possible, only with a cell phone and QR code and this is not or not at all suitable for older people or people without a cell phone. We know several people who no longer go to this restaurant for these reasons. You should think about it.
