The taste was overall decent, but the flavors were muted and lacked any true depth. Looking at the prices, we were expecting refined brunch experience, but the place and food quality was closer to a basic take away joint. The place could not satisfy my cravings for Asian food, and completely missed the mark for a chic brunch date. Also, the servers seemed disinterested as well.

They used to say that once in Amsterdam you need to try Indonesian. And this place was a great find. Very simple interior design yet welcoming with a sort of vibrant warmth and easygoingness. Very friendly staff is always a great addition. But of course the food stole the show. We decided to order a variety of bites to try a bit of everything. The flavors tuned by the spices all mixed perfectly, creating an explosion of taste. The chicken was cooked to perfection, the fish and tofu balls were delightful and the shrimps were just spot on. I’d definitely recommend this place and will come back once in Amsterdam.

If I could I would give 0. I've got poisoned in the restaurant which ruined my trip. Definitely skip this one. I won't mention that it is super overpriced even for Amsterdam and portions are not that big, which turned out good in my case bc if it was larger i would probably be in hospital rn.

Love this place so much and I have been there a lot of times. The fried chicken and pulled chicken are sooo good. The flavor is just in very good balance!! During the weekends it’s best to make a reservation but no need to week days brunch.

Amsterdam felt like my city so I didn’t find it that exciting. But on my second time to Amsterdam, this restaurant remains one of my favorite experiences. I wish this chef works in my city. Great service and smiles. More importantly, the presentation.

Food:5/5 Services: ouch... Please do not accept booking at 8pm if you need to put us out at 9pm. Starting the vacuum cleaner.. taking away dishing while not everyone finished... is not nice for us... we felt we had to hurry up from the moment we started...

It’s a thing—when in the Netherlands, one must eat Indonesian food. For some reason, most of the Michelin-recommended spots are outside Amsterdam, and I really regret not having tried a top one while in The Hague. After a few weeks in Europe, I was seriously craving some Asian flavors, so we found this spot that was open for lunch (most are dinner-only). The menu was simple, mostly fried dishes, which wasn’t exactly my favorite. The curries were more like soups than the rendang-style curry I was hoping for. Still, the food hit the spot and satisfied my cravings, and the service was very friendly. The ambiance was casual, perfect for a quick bite. Funny enough, all the other tables were filled with American expats! Here’s what we had: Udang Mayo Green Rica-Rica: Fried shrimp with green chili sauce. Very mild, not spicy at all. Tong Seng (Lamb “Curry”): More of a subtle soup than a punchy curry—definitely not the bold Indonesian flavors I was expecting. Fried Chicken Rica-Rica with Rice and Yogurt Salad: Meh. Overall, it was alright—good enough to satisfy a craving but not a must-visit destination. The bill came to about $65 USD, which felt a little on the pricey side for what we got.

We visited Amsterdam for the first time and we’ve never had Indonesian food before. I saw that this place was a must and IT IS! It was pretty close to where we were staying so getting there was easy. The vibe is super casual though having a reservation is a safe bet. We tried the Fried Chicken (Green) Pika Pika and the Ribs Pika Pika - both came with rice, a small cabbage salad, and yogurt. We loved them both - SO delicious! Staff was very nice despite being so busy. Highly recommended when you’re in Amsterdam!

This was my first exposure to Indonesian food and I fell in love with it. I ate what I believe it’s called Coto Kip. It’s so full of flavor and texture that every spoon tasted amazing. Well done to the chef. If I ever return, I’ll make it my mission to visit it again.

I walked 8 kilometers to this place (why even use transport in AMSTERDAM?). And I can say it was worth it! Tender chicken with an insanely crispy bite. The perfect amount of rice to go with it. Every song on the playlist — MY FAVORITE. And the staff member whistling along to the music was such a vibe! When I arrived, I was the only one, but later more people came and the place came alive. Cozy atmosphere. Only the hand dryer in the restroom didn’t work, but that’s not a big deal. And yes, it’s card payment only, keep that in mind. Thanks for the lovely atmosphere 🥰

Most of the food was good but the flavours should be more stronger, don't be scared to use more pepper, salt, lemon. Not to spicy but just enough you wrote on cards - sorry but not enought at all.

Really chilled l, friendly staff. Ordered the food and a beer and all out within 10 minutes. It was quiet but still incredibly quick. Lovely flavours, small portions (perfect for lunch), so starter & mains if you're a bigger eater.

Very inauthentic. We were hoping to order a rijstafel but this being mostly a casual lunch place didn’t have that on the menu. We decided to share the vegan gado gado, the chicken plate and a fried chicken starter. The gado gado contained rogue ingredients such as raw spinach, rucola and goji berries and ice cold egg noodles. Missing in action were boiled potatoes, tempeh and tofu. Proteins due to tiny quantities. Tempeh was sliced paper thin and deep fried to oblivion. It reminded me of cardboard. Very thin slices of cold store bought deep fried tofu puffs drizzled with soy. Everything was lukewarm at best. The best of our order was the fried cjicken starter which was at least warm. The sambal which is available for EUR 2 was good. It contained lemongrass and terasi. Service was cheerful, helpful and quick.

The cappuccino overflowed the rims of my cup. The food tasted okay, but there were hard stems in my sauce. The fried chicken was bland. The table and chair wobbled. My friend's dish was ice cold (including the peanut sauce...), and he didn't feel well afterward. I got the feeling that little love and attention was put into the food, while the prices are high for what you get. First and last time here, unfortunately...

The food was good and had the basics. The peanut crunch and sauce could be more tasty as I did not taste the peanuts sufficiently. There was one red chili as normally food from Bali has more chillies and spices. Maybe it is adapted to the local taste. My lemonade could have more flavour as it has too much ice and less extract.

If you have a desire for amazing Indonesian food in Amsterdam I highly recommend Bali Brunch. We go to Bali regularly and the food here is better than what we typically find there. 100% authentic

OMG, the food was so tasty and fresh had lots of flavor. We got the dumplings sate Sauce and fried chicken rica-rica. We wanted some light and easy to share. Also played great R&B pop music I was loving it.

Fried chicken is good, chicken plate is not-- the chicken was overdone. food's too expensive for what it is-- it's neither good enough nor is there enough of it to justify the 20EU plates. Bring your own water because they charge for a glass of tap water.

It's probably a confort food joint for those of this descent - as curious visitors we did not find the food particularly interesting and pretty slow despite not being crowded.

The taste is good, a combination of sour, sweet and spicy. Although it is fried, it is not greasy. I don't know what kind of milk is used to make the latte, but it has a special fragrance.

The food is amazing here. It's really good and tasty. But it's not 10-20 per person. the average dish is 19,20 euros. There are not some snacks which cost on average 9 euros. Of the minuses, they charged us an additional 8 euros for live music and didn't tell it beforehand just silently put it in check. I don't know if it's normal for this country, but i guess you have to inform visitors beforehand. They dont take cash. Which is a minus for me personally. Also, to take 4 euros for lemonade, which tastes average is a steal. The receipt should be improved.

It was full, we had no reservation, and they pulled out an extra table for us. Food was really quick and tasty, and the service was great. Everyone was so kind! The lemonade and the ice tea are definitely recommended as well!

First time Indonesian food for me and I was blown away. My friend had tears of joy in her eyes. Delicious. What's more, the owner and really all staff are attentive, open to chatting and very sympathetic and the whole place gives you that heated, busy asian street food vibe between skyscrapers and haggling merchants only without the noise and with a lot more comfort 🤩

The place itself is nice. They brought the menu for a long time, but the staff is also nice. The food is not tasty at all, I could not eat this food. I ordered a dish "green chicken", there are nasty seasonings and disgusting sweet (why?) yogurt, a disgusting combination of flavors. My boyfriend ate a little of the dish, I did not eat, only tried. In Bali, they cook tastier! I do not understand where these dishes come from. Disappointment, I do not recommend.

The food was amazing! Super vibrant flavors. Good size portions. The robs sate sauce was sooo good! As was the dumpling sambal. The fried chicken rica rica was good but not as good as the ribs. Definitely worth every penny. My only complaint was how hot it is in the restaurant during the Spring

We went to Bali Brunch 82 and it was truly spectacular. We tried four dishes: the Coto Kip, the Tong Seng (lamb curry), and two rib options: the Rica-Rica and the Sate sauce. Each with its own style, but all with that powerful, spice-packed, freshly made flavor that you can taste in every bite. The Coto Kip is like a chicken soup with coconut milk, noodles, and vegetables that's comforting and surprising at the same time. The lamb curry comes with a brutal mix of spices, is incredibly tender, and very well balanced. The ribs, both the rica-rica and the sate, were juicy, flavorful, and with sauces that made you want to clean your plate with the rice. Not a single one was left. For drinks, we went for the Good Jamu, which is like a herbal soda with turmeric, super refreshing, and the Harujitori, a cocktail with hibiscus, gin, and tonic that goes perfectly with the meal. Everything arrived freshly made, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was very friendly. We loved it and will definitely return. If you like food with real flavor, spices, and an exotic touch, this place is for you.

I really hate to rate this place so low because the food truly was amazing. However, the service was really bad. My husband and I reserved a table for our honeymoon and were really excited to try this place based on the high reviews. We arrived and ordered and were sitting waiting for our food for about an hour. Meanwhile people who came in half an hour after we did received their food before us. We were starving and frustrated as we had clearly been forgotten about. Finally our orders arrived and the staff did not apologize for the lateness! It felt incredibly rude and frustrating. I understand these things happen but all we were really looking for was some sort of polite acknowledgment of the situation.

Had fried chicken rica rica and chicken green rica rica and dumpling. Everything was nice and tasty. Portion size was a bit small for 18,50€ but it was surely tasty. I would say go for it!

Great relaxed atmosphere to grab some Indonesian food. Had the Fried Chicken Rica Rica - the chicken was crispy and the yoghurt provided a good balance to the chicken. Also had the BBQ Lemonade which was very refreshing. The service was friendly and quick. Highly recommended!

By no means is it bad it’s just.. meh. The food and reviews sounded very promising but I found it not very flavourful at all, and the hibiscus tea I had was lacking in flavour too. Paired with the fact my food was served in disposable cardboard dishes over plates, which by no means affects the food itself but for a place where you’ll be spending upward of €20 to dine, you’d expect better presentation.

Really meh. I had the satay fried chicken: lots of rice, not enough sauce and vegetables. All with 1 beer and chips. All 30€ per person! I don't understand the comments touting good value for money. The dish is sold for €18.50 even though it's not even street food (anymore? Saw the old photos) served on a plate. Very disappointed I do not recommend it.

My new favorite Indonesian spot. The appetizers are great and the rica-rica verde is excellent, I’ve ordered it twice now. I’ve found myself putting the leftover sauces of the appetizers in my rice given how delicious they are. The restaurant always has a good vibe, the decor, the owners, and they’re always playing good music too

imo. Only steamed chicken “GREEN” rica2 worth to order. Other stuff didn’t hit the sensor pallets. And please avoid their new item on the menu “Batagor”, taste like bla 😭

The food wasn’t authentic Indonesian—the flavors lacked depth and that signature kick. This applied to all the dishes we tried: Tongseng, Fried Chicken Goreng Rica Rica, and Ribs Green Rica Rica. That said, the fried chicken itself was done and fried really well. It was just the sauce that felt like it was missing something to tie it all together. They served really good Lemonade and Lemon Tea 🍋

I've been already 2 times and the food is just amazing! The Luca Ambon cocktail was so fresh too! The only "bad" thing that I found was that on winter the food was not that warm anymore when served, maybe the plate was not warm so it got cold faster (but still so delicious, I swear!) cause on summer was good and warm

Who knew the first time I would have Indonesian food would be in Amsterdam 😅 Cozy little space next to a major tourist spot. Very flavorful dishes! Will need to take your time however as it’s manned by about two people.
