A very pleasant and intimate bistro restaurant. Delicious dishes with a modern twist and excellent, attentive, and friendly service. The prices are also reasonable for today's standards.

What a gem in Amsterdam! We dined here before a performance at Carré and had high expectations, given the picturesque exterior, the well-maintained website, and the positive reviews. Expectations were more than exceeded. When we booked, we requested a table by the window, and they duly complied. It was a great spot with a view of the restaurant. The place slowly filled up from 5:30 PM onward. It was close together, but certainly not a problem; it perfectly suits the setting of a Parisian bistro with an Amsterdam touch. A small menu with varying dishes for our group, all equally tasty and beautifully decorated. Attentive (young) service, attentive to the guests. A mistake in one dish from the kitchen was promptly resolved by the staff without any discussion. Excellent! We highly recommend this restaurant, especially with a combination of Carré (it's literally right next door). Immerse yourself in hospitality, with a good, unusual menu in an intimate setting. A truly great night out.

We had a really great evening, but that's about it. Nothing was wrong, but I wasn't pleasantly surprised as I'd hoped. Starters: Halibut and Ricotta. The halibut was well-seasoned but felt more like a salad tartare than a fish dish. The ricotta dish was tasty, but more because of the vegetables and the dressing. The cheese lacked flavor and was unfortunately a bit smoky... Sea bass was delicious, nothing to complain about, but the bavette was overcooked, and the pumpkin puree wasn't very exciting. Again, everything was fine, so certainly not bad, but it could be much better. The wines were good, and the service was young, yet friendly and attentive. The decor could be nicer/more inviting; perhaps the fact that it wasn't full didn't help. In summary, a lot of potential, a nice concept, but the decor and quality of the dishes could be better! Price/quality is okay.

A small, intimate restaurant with just three too many tables, making it a bit too close together. Delicious soup and later bavet steak. The vegetarian red cabbage option was bland; I'd have preferred less red cabbage and a mashed potato dish or gratin on the side for a change.

Just like you imagine a French bistro. Cozy, warm, attentive, and good.

We had a wonderful meal in a unique location. It was a bit noisy because of the lively crowd. You sit quite close to your neighbors, and you look at each other's plates. The quality of the food makes up for it. A tip: if possible, install a sliding door between the outside door and the restaurant entrance. The red curtain that hangs there adds to the ambiance, but some people forget to close the other door, and the wind made it very cold where we were. Customers regularly stood up to close the door... Great location, fantastic food, friendly staff, and afterward, a wonderful concert at Carré. It was a beautiful evening!

We had dinner at this restaurant before going to the Ballet and we loved it. Everything was very tasty and the portions were bigger than we expected so we ended up ordering too much food for 2 people. And the vibe is just like a bistrot in Paris.

We dined at Chez Fabrice for a company event with 23 people. The staff were very accommodating when we brought extra colleagues along at the last minute. Furthermore, the service and the food were excellent. We ordered shared dining appetizers and a la carte main courses with a large group. The wines were top-quality. Highly recommended!

Delicious food, great menu! The price-quality ratio is excellent. The only downside: when the restaurant is full, it can be a cacophony of noise. A huge plus: one of the few restaurants that serves a real Irish coffee: kudos! Highly recommended.

This charming little restaurant/bistro is tucked away right next to Carré, in one of the most beautiful spots on the Amstel River in Amsterdam. Don't let Chez Fabrice's size fool you, the quality of the food is superb. Delicious dishes prepared with passion and skill. Beautifully presented and served by friendly staff. Highly recommended for a truly pampering experience. Affordable, top-notch food. Our evening at the Opera couldn't have started better.

Wonderfully tasty French bistro

The location of the restaurant is very convenient if you’re going to a show at the Carré or the Hermitage Musuem, however our experience was not great. We arrived and despite making a booking there was no table ready for us, when finally seated one of the servers asked us if we were going to be having dinner and we confirmed that indeed we had booked dinner at which point she said would have to clean the table and get it ready for us. We were then moved to another table just in sight of the bathroom and kitchen, which wasn’t ideal. It took another few minutes to get menus and when we were ready to order drinks, I had to call over a waitress to assist us. The food also didn’t live up to the description. We had barely cooked ravioli without any type of sauce and served with lettuce. The whole experience was lackluster for us as more than anything the service made us feel unwelcome. Would not recommend.

Lovely meal in a very cozy space with friendly service. We were excited for the variety and chose two items from every category on the short but very thoughtful menu. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. Favorites were the fries, which were the perfect texture, with tangy, almost sweet mayo; the lamb with carrot and yogurt, lots of flavor and the meat perfectly cooked; and the true standout, the peaches and cucumber starter with feta, walnut, and radish, the sauce from which we mopped up with bread and I could've licked off the plate. I could eat those peaches daily. The dessert of date cake with tahini cream was also very unique and fun, the cream tasting almost cheesy. The staff were welcoming, including to our three-year-old son, who was treated with kindness from beginning to end. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were politely warned that our food may take a bit longer to be delivered because the place was full and some tables had just been seated before us. However, the wait was not very long at all for our drinks or our first choices. The service was so warm and the environment was very relaxing. At the end of our meal, the space had cleared out. Our server offered some of her favorite sites to us, to consider for our visit. Our son had fallen asleep in our arms after his share of dessert. We all felt very comfortable and welcome. Thank you to Chez Fabrice for such a wonderful evening.

Before the performance at Carré, we had a surprisingly delicious meal at Chez Fabrice. The dishes were delicious and unique. There's something for everyone, even if you don't want to eat meat or fish. The service is very friendly. They explain the dishes and are very attentive. If you're going to the theater, I recommend booking a "theater shift." This way, you can enjoy your dinner in peace, knowing you'll definitely be on time for the performance.

Great place for a bite to eat, but don't expect culinary delights. The service was pleasant. If you come during peak hours (before the show at Carré), you'll find it very cramped.

Beautiful weather so we started outside with a drink, called inside on time, delicious food, right on schedule, quite busy ... we arrived at Carre on time.

We had a delicious three-course meal at Chez Fabrice! The menu is small and changes frequently, with something for everyone, and everything is fresh. The wines are all organic, and the chef specially created a dessert without cow's milk. The atmosphere and service are fantastic. Because most customers are attending a show at Carré, the kitchen closes relatively early.

The food was delicious, the service was fantastic, and everything went smoothly but without being rushed. From the moment I walked in until I left, I felt completely taken care of and served fantastically. The menu is clear, yet challenging and varied. It's not the standard dishes you often find in bistros. There's also plenty of choice and variety for vegetarians. In short, a great place with excellent value for money. A two-course meal for €36...? You can't fault it, and it's affordable for everyone.

We wanted to eat at Carré before the show, but it was already full. A Carré employee recommended Chez Fabrice, in the theater's old cellar. We had a wonderful time! The dish of the day was sea bass, and I think it was the best fish dish I've ever had. The service was incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

In a cozy bistro setting, you can enjoy excellent French-Mediterranean cuisine. We had lamb pâté and smoked ribeye as a starter, and an excellent entrecôte for the main course. We stumbled upon this restaurant before a theater visit to Carré, and Chez Fabrice was a real discovery and a surprise! Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience at Chez Fabrice! We ate here before a show at Carré, which is almost next door. Plenty of time, no stress to catch the show. Delicious three-course dinner, consisting of a special gazpacho of paprika with strawberries as a starter, ravioli with feta as a main course and a strawberry Romanov and a coffee for dessert. Exceptionally high quality and very nice, relaxed service. We will definitely come back!

Cosy bistro at the Amstel bank, in rather silent and low-traffic area. It has some chairs outside so one can enjoy the view at the Amstel lock. Small in size, offers delicious snacks, proper choice of beverages, wine and spirits, and a friendly staff.

We went to a performance in Carré and had booked in advance. But due to all kinds of traffic jams, we arrived at the restaurant quite stressed much later. In no time they had relieved that stress with a nice glass of wine and all 3 courses served neatly one after the other. We actually wanted to skip dessert given the time. But everything went smoothly. The atmosphere was great and the food delicious and all for a great price and the staff actually 6 stars. If I go to Amsterdam again, I will definitely eat here again.

Very nice restaurant. We had a delicious meal before we went to Carré and it was ready on time.

Too bad I expected more. The price-quality ratio is completely out of proportion. The food was tasteless for both of us. A large group had arrived with us and the service was gone, we were asked once (upon arrival) if we wanted something to drink. The ladies did their best but couldn't pull it off. Yes, the restaurant is conveniently located if you want to go to the Carré theater, but I will not recommend this restaurant for dinner.

It was a bit chilly that evening and I wasn't prepared for it. The atmosphere here warmed me right up. A few steps down from the street, it was like entering a rabbit's borrow. A cozy table for two. A bottle of wine. The service all smiles and kindness. And the food was excellent. Kept me warm the whole walk home.

A small, busy restaurant that primarily attracts guests after theater and ballet performances at nearby venues. They offer a set menu rather than à la carte, though you can order individual dishes, but it’s not really worth it. It makes more sense to go for at least two courses. We particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon and ravioli. The mussels, however, could have been fresher and more creatively seasoned. The interior is a bit too dark for my taste, and the service… well, it’s typical Dutch service. Overall, I’d recommend this place only if you're looking for a quick and simple dinner in the area. The food isn’t bad, but if you’re after a proper culinary experience, you’re better off elsewhere.
