Super cozy place with delicious drinks. You could also order things that weren't on the menu, but the drinks on offer were so special that you could hardly turn down any.

never been (yet) but I had an 'Angela' situation with a friend and they were really helpful. that's immediately 5 star for me

i went to Bar Mokum today for the first time, after being recommended it by others. the decor on the inside is really unique, showing a journey through a night in an Amsterdam street that is immersive and atmospheric. this was made even better by a funky playlist and well curated cocktail menu that separated homecrafted cocktails by flavour palate (i believe of sweet, bitter and sour, as well as seasonal specials) the owner Leroy was friendly, professional and conversational, and it was evident that he was passionate about the bar and the drinks, explaining the menu to me and making me feel at home; which was especially appreciated as i was visiting alone. i ordered the Graftak cocktail, which was based on an Old Fashioned and was made with genever, whisky, and chocolate bitters. i would definitely recommended, as it had a sophisticated and well balanced flavour profile, and had clearly been thought through carefully overall Bar Mokum was a 10/10 for me for drink quality, kindness of staff, atmosphere and interior and i would recommend it to anyone. definitely one of my favourite bars i’ve visited after one year in Amsterdam. Amazing hidden place in Amsterdam in the area of Pijp. One of the owners (Leroy) welcomes you as a friend and makes sure your feel "seen" and comfortable going down to the hidden bar. The drinks are amazing and the vibe is chill and the atmosphere is great for a person who enjoys a very good drink with a high quality. This is defenetly a bar that would be in the top 50's list in the ranking. The womens toilet is also the best one (no sorry, the No 1) you will visit in Amsterdam and this is defenetly is a place to have on your "go-to" when visiting Amsterdam! * No Photos are allowed - to keep this place more misterious*

Amsterdams amazing little secret bar. Away from the craziness of the people soup that is Amsterdam, this little hidden gem lies underneath the streets of Amsterdam. Boasting some of the most amazing mixology you will come across here. Speaking with Leroy, the owner, he is a master of his craft and tailored specific cocktails and flavours to perfect. For the wife, it was the best pornstar martini she's had in any venue and for me, the old fashioned with chocolate bitters followed by a rum creation which, if you closed your eyes you thought you were in the carribean drinking a high end drink in a 5 star resort. Leroys knowledge of spirits blew me away as he walked us through the history and variations of "Jenever", gins older and lesser known origin. The vibe is chilled, the music is a good blend of reggae/chill out mixes and the interior takes you back in time. If you're passing through, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed!

It is not what it used to be. The cocktails are too sugary, selection is still not enough. You need to order custom if you don't like the few cocktails they offer. Nothing special honestly. Ambience is good if you are sitting down at back especially.

Great bar with an outstanding bartender. Every cocktail we ordered was excellent. The service was just as impressive—he was always attentive without being intrusive, refilled our water, explained the cocktails, and helped me choose the perfect drink. I simply described the style of cocktail I was in the mood for, and he created something just for me, not necessarily from the menu. It made the experience feel very personal. I’ll definitely be coming back.

A hidden gem in de pijp. A great bar is only as good as its bartenders and owner. Leroy, was hospitable to our group as we were there for celebratory drinks for our friend. I don’t drink alcohol, but Leroy was able to make a delicious mocktail based on my preference in taste. By far the best mocktail I’ve ever had. Everyone else enjoyed their cocktails. If you’re looking for a drink on your own or with a group I highly recommend coming here. Bear in mind that in September it’s quite busy so you should make a reservation.

We arrived at a place that doesn't seem to exist from the outside, but then we go down the stairs and discover a cool cocktail bar. Excellent service. Excellent and varied cocktails. We only ate crackers, which were also excellent. In short, it's worth coming, even if it's a bit far away.

It’s a small and cozy places with incredibly kind, accommodating and knowledgeable staff. I really appreciated the details such as specifying multiple times the name of their special cocktails and the little funfacts behind some of the cocktails. The cocktails themselves are amazing. I love the intuitive menu design. It makes it really easy to have an idea of what you’re ordering and all cocktail places should take notes! This place is perfect for a rainy day! KThe interior design is made to make you feel like you’re having a drink outside, which is very unique. Definitely on top of my “i know a place” list.

A really fun and cozy cocktail bar! I've been there three times now, and all three times the staff was fantastic and the cocktails were amazing too. They do everything they can to make your evening as perfect as possible and will even create a cocktail off the menu if you want. A really great place for a date night!

Mid drinks; no milky/ coconut cream texture cocktails for all dairy fans. Also the long island ice tea had cola zero. :( the other drinks as per my company were good. But Chris was an amazing host and I hope she gets all the promotions in the world! Groetjes!

Have to agree with the reviews from Arthur and Lisa below - while the atmosphere and cocktails were fine, the attitude of the bartender tonight was awful (09 December). I don’t care if you’re the best bartender in the world (he’s not), there’s no excuse for being so rude and unwelcoming. I don’t expect customers to be treated like royalty, but good grief, this guy couldn’t have been less friendly and welcoming if he tried. So much so that us and another group left after only one drink because we felt so uncomfortable being there. Would not recommend or go back, even if it’s in my neighborhood.

We went there for a drink at 7 and already the reception was cold and we left the bar instantly even if the atmosphere of the bar is good, it reminds us of the red quarters, But the reception very cold and very unpleasant. I’m honestly still shocked. This was one of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve ever had. The cocktails were great, but I have never encountered service like this before. The staff, especially the cocktail shaker/waiter, was incredibly rude. His attitude was openly hostile, and he kept saying things like “Jesus, what…” and “Jesus, this…” while taking our order. It felt extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. It wasn’t just us.. The people in front of us in the queue also commented on how rude he was, and they actually left without ordering anything. I found it absolutely astonishing that a bar like yours has staff behaving this way. It’s such a shame, because the drinks themselves were genuinely good. I work in food marketing, attend many events, and write about hospitality experiences all the time.. But I have never encountered anything like this. Really disappointing.

The moment you walk in, you smell lime and mint. The tropical vibe is infectious: soft lighting, wooden accents, and a bar lined with colorful bottles. My caipirinha was fresh, clean, and not too sweet. The bartender works with concentration, without being rushed. There's sometimes a bit of a wait, but you forget that thanks to the relaxed atmosphere and the holiday vibe.

Amazing cocktails, if you are looking for a chill night with your girlies this is your place. It is sort of hard to find, quite like a speakeasy! Our friend made our reservations so i think its required.

Just a great place all together. Very good cocktails with a very friendly people working there and an absolutely delightful atmosphere. It’s one of my favorite cocktail bars in Amsterdam and a one that I frequent to. You can’t go wrong with whatever you order. But my favorites are the Graftak and Gleuvenrijder. Very sad, i used to love it here. The waiter immediately made us feel uncomfortable from the moment we walked in. The place was completely empty and we were told we’d have to move if a group came in even though every single other table was free. I wont be coming back

I highly recommend this place! We didn't find it right away, but it was definitely worth it. The drinks were delicious, and they prepared any drink you wanted upon request. The staff were also super friendly, and we ended up staying longer than we originally planned.
