Nicely decorated restaurant and friendly service. However, the food was mediocre: among other things, I had the halibut with tagliatelle ... but where is the tagliatelle; oh there I see 3 strings. I also found the sauce quite tasteless. And the cheese platter also did not excel with special cheeses. Too bad because the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere.

Bij binnenkomst valt al op dat de zaak zich behoorlijk uitgeleefd heeft in gebruik van kleuren. Geen steriel minimalisme hier. Personeel is gastvrij en aardig, maar ook jong en onervaren. Geen vraag of er prijs gesteld wordt op water. En wat meer onhandigheid. Het eten smaakte uitstekend, het hoofdgerecht en het dessert waren echt goed. De kok kan absoluut goed koken. Kan het zeker aanraden deze zaak.

Made a reservation on Friday evening, then you come on Saturday and are told that a reservation could not be made. I think this is very bad because they should have said that

Delicious food on a beautiful terrace

The food was delicious and the portion size was perfect! We even got a taste of an amazing soup after telling that we are vegetarians and therefore didn’t ate the little tuna amusegeulle. Sitting outside was lovely and the staff was kind and helpful.

Inmiddels twee maal geluncht bij Het Alternatief en beide keren was het uitstekend. Vriendelijke bediening, ruime keuze op de menukaart en heerlijk gegeten.

Very nice, stylish but still cozy atmosphere. Lots of places outside too. I was greeted and served very friendly. The food was really quite excellent! The waitress's beer recommendation was also spot on. It was a very nice stay for me. I'd love to come back.

Service was nice and the food was also tasty, but the owner was very disrespectful. He had no patience and very arrogant. I don't think you can treat guests like that. This really needs to change. The dishes, on the other hand, were very good. I would give this one all stars if I could.

Recent experience 2023/24 The new owner has renovated the tent absolutely beautifully. Have now been here once for dinner and drinks. Service average to poor, music too loud and price too high. Had a drink after a round of cycling. Received a lecture from the owner that “the bank” was the owner and not him. Staff were busier texting than serving. If you ask the question “is everything to your liking” when I don't have anything to drink yet or have taken the order, then you really don't understand. Before the long wait you are offered 2 drinks that then turn out to be on the bill, you have ruined it for me. Recently “had a drink together” with 6 people. A few drinks per person, 2 x appetizers to catch up and then the moment came to pay. A couple left a little early and paid their share. The next couple said, I think we paid for everything... Unfortunately, the bill turned out to be €180, so €60 per couple. This was really the last time. This is about nothing. And no, we didn't go home feeling sick. Experiences from: 2019 5 ⭐️ Have eaten here several times. Lunch, dinner, inside or on the lovely sunny terrace. Service friendly and involved. Yes and of course the delicious food. Maybe we could've forgiven the extremely long waiting times for the menu, WRONG ENGLISH MENU, ordering, drinks, food, etc. as it was a little busy - but our server was so extremely rude and annoyed! Big nose, according to our bill named 'Beneer'. He constantly groaned, sighed, rolled his eyes and gestured annoyedly at us and the other waiters/waitresses. We planned to stay in for longer, but he made us feel so uncomfortable we decided to leave early. When we asked to split the bill his colleague told us he was the only one that could do it at the moment. When we asked 'Beneer' he straight up lied to our face, 'No' and threw the payment machine on the table. Later on we saw him outside being extremely rude to random passerbys from his bike... The food was mediocre and overpriced. Try going into any of the surrounding restaurants first, you'll almost definitely get better service and food than we did.

Good food, easy to make reservations, good service. The only 2 comments I have is that the tables are quite small for 2 people. It's all fitting and measuring. And that an extra service charge is added to the bill. They call it a kitchen charge or something like that. That should be known in advance. But that doesn't detract from the atmosphere and the food and the service. Update April 24. The food was delicious again. Good quality. Only the creme brulee was so terribly sweet that your teeth almost fell out. What was a bit annoying is that it took more than half an hour before our orders were taken. There is only 1 person in the restaurant who does that and that is not enough. Lots of service, but probably inexperienced, because other than bringing a drink and eating, they don't walk around to see if anything is needed or more drinks. You have to wave or wait for that one person to order something. I forgot to ask for some fries, which actually come with it, but the order taker didn't ask for that either. And we received a wrong bill which they found out after payment. Not that big of a problem, but again by 1 person who is just way too busy.

Super leuk café/restaurant met Heerlijke dingen om de kaart. De mediterrane planken waren lekker gevuld en mooi opgemaakt en smaakten super. Gezellig aan de rand van Hillegom met een terras. Gezellig geborreld met de meiden van school op het begin van de zomervakantie

Kom eigenlijk nooit in Hillegom,maar we hadden een familie uitje. Prachtige eetgelegenheid. Heerlijk en goed eten. Erg aardig personeel én wat voortreffelijke biertjes op de tap. Een biertje met chocolade smaak geprobeerd op advies van een jonge ober, die zelf nog niet mocht drinken. Was heel bijzonder en heel lekker. Je kan hier prima vertoeven.

Mijn recente bezoek aan restaurant Alternatief in Hillegom was werkelijk fantastisch! De ambiance is warm en uitnodigend, het personeel straalt vriendelijkheid uit en het eten is ronduit voortreffelijk. De menukaart biedt een verrassende variatie aan heerlijke gerechten, en wat ik koos, overtrof mijn verwachtingen. De smaken waren verfijnd en de presentatie was prachtig. Het is duidelijk dat het team hier toegewijd is aan het leveren van een buitengewone culinaire ervaring. Ik kan dit restaurant van harte aanbevelen aan iedereen die op zoek is naar een onvergetelijke avond uit in Hillegom. Het heeft alles: geweldige service, een warme sfeer en voortreffelijk eten. Ik kan niet wachten om terug te keren!

mooi restaurant, vlotte bediening (pas op dat je niet binnen 30 min klaar bent) prijs is echt stevig.

De gerechten en drankjes zijn super lekker, je krijgt een grote portie, service super vriendelijk, prijzen zijn wat hoger dan bij vergelijkbare tentjes in Hillegom, maar je krijgt er ook wel wat voor. Zeker een aanrader 😊

Prettige bediening Mooie ambiance , art deco en Tiffany glas. Een haard in het midden van het restaurant maakt het knus. Uitzicht op de straat vanuit de serre. Alles smaakvol ingericht. En Ook goed eten!

Dîner en terrasse, service impeccable, rapport qualité/prix correct.

Heerlijk geluncht op de verjaardag van een vriendin op het mooie terras. Heerlijke gerechten maar ook de koffie met supervers gebak is zeer aan te bevelen. Eigenaar Mimo komt vaak bij je langs of alles naar wens is. Het is hier erg gezellig op een top locatie aan het begin van dorp Hillegom.

Lekker gegeten wel jammer dat eten er in snel tempo doorheen werd geduwt.

De sfeer en inrichting van het restaurant is heel prettig, wij hadden na een werkdag geen zin om thuis te eten, reserveren was makkelijk en er stond een tafel klaar, wijn is goed kwaliteit van eten is goed. Wij hebben helaas ervaren dat met de rekening niet goed afgerekend is en dat hebben wij ook gemeld echter het werd door een van de medewerkers uitgelegd dat het door het systeem zus of zo wat onprofessioneel overkomt en bv een gerecht dat 18.90 € kost word afgerekend als 25.80 € Goed advies om de rekening te controleren en helaas is dit een min punt voor klanten en iets om te verbeteren van het systeem en klanten service van het personeel. Correct was om het meteen te corrigeren ipv een zinloze reden te geven. Door dit punt is score 7 voor ons.
