Bar-Restaurant Het Groene Paleis in Burgwallen-Oude Zijde

we were met by a very nice man, we ordered our food and got it in a reasonable time, but it was kind of chilled, not warm. we were also told that the kitchen would close soon, and if we wanted dessert we could order straight away, and get it after we sere done eating. WHICH WE DID NOT. we got our lava cake, and two scoops of ice cream, while we were in the middle of our main course. The ice cream also was partly meltes at arrival. But overall the service was good and the food, except for the fact that it was chilled, and the servers was not at fault for this situation.

I asked the waitress for information about a juice, and she responded in a rude way, saying that it was written there “milk is milk and juice is juice." She also looked at me almost laughing. I didn’t like it at all. I wouldn’t want to come back.

Very nice place, we had some troubles with the payment and they sorted it out very nicely and professional. Also the food was very good and the staff was great. Overall 10/10 experience and would love to return when we’re back in Amsterdam!

We were received in a super nice and friendly way! The carpaccio sandwich was really delicious! Best carpaccio sandwich ever :) The Pornstar Martini was also really top-notch.

I wanted to grab a quick drink here. As soon as I arrived, I asked if I could take a seat on the terrace, to which I received the answer "it doesn't matter to me." I was quite surprised by that, but anyway. We took our seats and waited 10 minutes for a drinks menu, and then spoke to the waiters twice, to whom I received no response. So I just walked away.

Company outing with about 20 people. After a short wait we were seated and had drinks within a few minutes. Nice, because it was 35 degrees outside and we could use it. The bar was nic and cool. The service was good, friendly and quick. The food was great, we had a preselected menu with limited choice, but all options looked equally great. The salmon tartar starter had seaweed and hints of wasabi, very nice. The pork loin was cooked to medium and very juicy. Desert was okay. For a group of 20 service was great with all plates being served within a few minutes. And cleaned up quickly too. Good location with outdoor seating as well.

The service was very nice, they spoke perfect English so I had no problems with communication. The food was also very delicious.

We ate as a group of 14. Everyone who ordered pizzas was disappointed. They lacked flavor and cheese. The price was a bit high, but the location was decent, right in the city center. The servers were good. Even though individual payments weren't possible, we were required to pay the entire bill by card.

The Razzle Dazzle (zero Alcohol) on the left was tiny, tasted okayish (just like a soda), but still costs 13.50€ like a normal cocktail. What a rip off.

Good afternoon, I'm sharing my experience. The place is very nice and the location is great, but the customer service is awful. A man named Alex came and told me he was the owner and asked me to leave. We came prepared to spend money and have an unforgettable afternoon, but the way he treated us made me leave… I would never return.

The atmosphere looked really relaxed. We just happened to drive past it because we were actually on our way to another place. On the way back, we thought we'd stop in for a quick drink. Strangely enough, the service was really odd and incredibly unfriendly from the start. There wasn't a smile when we ordered – nothing at all. It seemed like he didn't care about his job at all. I knew right then and there: he wasn't getting a single cent in tips.

We've been here twice in as many days and can't recommend this place enough. You're on one of the main boardwalks, lots of sun lots of people and you can just chill and enjoy. The food was very satisfying. Very Wideh choices in the menu, including some healthy selections. You can have whatever suits your fancy. Staff are friendly and attentive. Recommend this place highly okay

We had a wonderful dinner here during a bachelor party! It was a set menu arranged by another organization, but unfortunately, some misunderstandings arose on their part. The staff at Het Groene Paleis helped us out really well; we were able to make some adjustments to the menu in consultation, and everything was resolved quickly! Good communication, fast service, truly top-notch! The food was tasty, and there was a wide selection of drinks and cocktails (even the 0.0 options were very good). The atmosphere was great!

If you’re in a large group, as in 40+ people, they can accommodate your party! The vibes are there, the drinks are good. If you’re looking good food and a good time? I highly suggest having dinner there. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

I had a really good burrata salad, one you could easily get in Italy! Finally, something that wasn't too spicy. My son had a Margherita pizza, but it had too much mozzarella; I'd avoid it; it was too heavy...

We had to put up with a group of Germans who were talking extremely loudly and in addition, at the beginning we ordered a carafe of water and instead we were brought a bottle of water, it cost €8.50 (we found out at the end when the bill arrived).

Extensive lunch menu, great service, prices are also reasonable for Amsterdam. Spacious.

The Classic Salad – oh my god. Everything else pretty good too. But the Classic Salad. Oh my god. Cool place too. Lots of different seating including a row of seats at the massive front window which are great for people watching.

This is the 14 euro "brownie". I don't recommend.

After a stroll through Amsterdam, we'd worked up a bit of an appetite. Het Groene Paleis looked appealing from the outside, and thankfully, it was no different inside. The welcome was warm, and we quickly found a nice spot by the window. After ordering—kudos to the extremely friendly staff—and enjoying our first drink, we were amazed at how quickly our—excellent—food was served. After a second drink, we couldn't help but conclude that Het Groene Paleis is highly recommended. Thanks to the staff and kitchen! We'd love to come back again.

Perfect breakfast, the two yogurt bowls and the salmon and avocado pita were exceptional. Tomas was very friendly, professional, and kind.

We went for breakfast in the morning, ordered five dishes, and after explaining that one of the girls was celiac, the waiter said there was no problem. When the food arrived, besides bringing the wrong dish, he became aggressive when trying to admit his mistake and started blaming us. We repeatedly asked him if the dish was truly gluten-free because it didn't seem so, but he insisted it was. Unfortunately, my friend suffered for the rest of the vacation because of this guy, and nobody can give us that back.

Pricey lunch and not too large portions. It tastes good, though.

It was so nice that we were served in Dutch! What a lovely girl, lovely to chat with, and the food was delicious and plentiful!

For what it's worth, the best poached egg I've ever had (and good eggs I've had). Had the 12 o'clock, served to perfection. Soup, croquette and benedict beautifully presented and in good portion sizes. I feel full but the quality and taste has left me wanting more. Avoid dodgy tourist trap, hit and miss restaurants, by coming here instead =]

I went into what seemed to be a lovely place to have a coffee. I had low battery and asked if I could charge my phone. They said they were not allowed to accept but that they had power banks for 2 euros. Annoying, but I understood. One of the waitresses showed me the way to the power banks and just told me to put my card against the machine, and I had my power bank. Very, very bad surprised when I left 1 hour and a half later and realised it had charged me 12 euros !!!!!!!!!!!!! Very disappointed that they misled me and did not explain that it would charge me that much. They just said 2 euros. And I later saw on the machine that you had options to choose from (30 min vs full day etc.) but I was not told this. Therefore, i would not come again, although I enjoyed the coffee.

Had a wonderful meal in the heart of Amsterdam on Rokin. A great combination menu with lots of choices, including vegetarian options. Delicious celeriac carpaccio.

We ordered fresh ginger tea. It wasn't presented very well; it was a stick with three ginger pieces on it. The hot water had cooled down considerably, so there wasn't much ginger flavor. The lunch of tomato soup, dark brown bread with croquettes, and egg was very tasty. We sat on the terrace, where it was a bit of a squeeze to find the right seats. The tables and chairs were quite close together.

Great place, croquettes with bread, just the way they should be, just good bread, no thick piles, butter is at room temperature. And delicious croquettes and mustard.

The main course was good. The dessert wasn't good, way too sour for a cheesecake. We had to wait an incredibly long time, and the staff didn't speak Dutch.

We're sitting here waiting for the pizza, but they're not even preparing it; the waiter simply ignored the order.

Fantastic food and atmosphere, menu choices good and reasonably priced. Staff were great and service quick.

Very disappointed. I lot of misstates on our orders. Order water with ice and lemon, they brought only water, we asked for a pancakes with syrup, but got pancakes with jam and a lot of berries, which had too much flavour for little kid. I ordered salad with sauce on the side and extra chicken as I just wanted plain salad with chicken, but got very small portion and everything mixed up. Aswell started came last one and not what we ordered. So we asked to take it back.

I ordered a cappuccino and it was the most delicious cappuccino I had in Amsterdam.. A very beautiful restaurant and worth a visit and a try.. I chose it for breakfast 😬
