Beach pavilion "Zeezicht" in Wijk 04 Bakkum

Delicious coffee and cake; the focaccia with cheese and ham was also very tasty. There's a wonderful, sheltered view of the beach and the sea. The staff is quick, courteous, and extremely friendly. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our stay, thank you!

A great location for a party Good staff and service

The matcha tasted absolutely awful. Please learn how to prepare it properly or remove it from the menu. The waitress, with short black hair, was cutting her nails behind the counter with scissors and putting them back in the drawer. Not very appetizing. Perhaps it was just bad luck, but you couldn't see the sea from inside because the windows were so dirty. A shame, because the restaurant itself is lovely.

Went out for dinner here yesterday. Had a quick drink on the terrace again today. If you order a beer, you automatically get a half-liter right away. And when you want to change in the restroom a little later, you are sent away to a public toilet. The food may be good, but customer service is practically non-existent here.

I still had my drink on the table. Nevertheless, I was asked quite pushily if I wanted another drink. When I commented on that: "Oh, I'm a fast drinker myself." During the meal, I was also asked if the food tasted good. At that moment, because my mouth was full, I couldn't answer. Pretty awkward.

Still the best beach pavilion. Great food and drinks. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Do make a reservation, as it is always busy around lunch/dinner time. However, there is competition lurking. Deining and Club Zand have been renovated and are making great strides in the culinary scene. You can park in the large car park. That is paid, or you can park your car for free along the road or at Johanna's Hof.

The service was friendly, hospitable, and attentive, making us feel welcome immediately. The food was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. A lovely place to enjoy lunch, dinner, or just a drink after a beach walk or a day at the seaside. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommended if you are in Castricum aan Zee.

Cozy place. We had a reservation but it turned out not to be necessary. We were able to pick out a nice spot. The staff weren't the happiest, but maybe the ladies were just having a bad day. Otherwise, the food was fine. Nice that they also have spots in the sand.

I can't say anything about the food, but I can about the service, because there wasn't any. Staff walked past four times without paying any attention; after fifteen minutes I just went to the neighbors.

Nice seating area in the sand where you can sit comfortably with children. It is a real shame, though, that the white wooden chairs and benches have no cushions, meaning you cannot sit comfortably for long.

An atmospheric spot on the beach. Both outside and inside. Relaxed (we were there in May) and quite affordable for a place like this.

Despite a temperature of 24 degrees, we were forced to sit inside, with the promise that we could move outside as soon as a spot became available. However, after waiting for two hours (food and cocktails), new guests from outside were given priority for the newly available tables. The lack of a fair system for guests already present is customer-unfriendly. It would be more logical if guests already seated inside were given priority on the terrace; an option for which I would even be willing to pay a premium when making a reservation. Compliments, by the way, to one of the younger servers for the excellent service, but the policy regarding table changes is a missed opportunity.

Friendly service. Food allergy: Dealing with allergies is still a learning curve for them. Currently (April 26), they cannot yet fry a fish in olive oil. It is only possible in a mix of vegetable oils. As a result, someone with a specific allergy cannot order the fish. And watching the rest of the table companions eat isn't the nicest experience, but it is the solution. I am curious if this will be perceived as an area for improvement in any potential review. Otherwise, a nice place, even in the winter. The food looks good 😉

We had delicious meals for two evenings. There is an extensive menu with plenty of choice. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are all very friendly!

We had a fantastic lunch at Restaurant Zeezicht today. We were assisted in an extremely friendly manner and escorted directly to our reserved table upon arrival. We received our first drinks quite quickly, after which we leisurely perused the clear yet diverse lunch menu. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and sat in a relaxed atmosphere, while the place slowly filled up around us and a queue formed in front of the terrace as well. It was a lively and pleasant atmosphere on this sunny spring day. It is impressive that everything ran so seemingly smoothly with so much new staff, especially during this transition from low season to high season. Thank you, Zeezicht, for the warm service! We will definitely be back.

A beautiful beach restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere right by the sea. Beautiful view, carefully decorated interior. There are also two outdoor terraces, with the lower terrace being right on the sand by the beach - a magical place to sit. The service was quick, the wine excellent. Just a small note on some reviews complaining about sand on the outdoor tables - the restaurant is literally on the beach, so a little sand in the wind is simply part of the experience.

It was quite busy. But it had a nice atmosphere.

I don't know if it was the type of food, but the hamburger was very simple and not completely warm. And therefore also too expensive for what you get.

We've been there twice. Both the afternoon coffee and cake and the dinner are highly recommended. The service was very attentive and friendly both times. Great sea view, from the terrace in the afternoon and from inside the restaurant in the evening.

As sea swimmers, we are welcome here. What a lovely place with hot tea and a delicious cup of coffee with real whipped cream. They don't mind our sandy feet. Very nice, and we love coming here. Hospitable and a real difference from the neighbors across the street. See you soon!! (I never eat here, so I have no opinion on that)

We managed to get a table outside around lunchtime. Unfortunately, it was covered in sand. It wasn't cleaned even after we ordered and received our drinks. That completely ruined our appetite for lunch. Hence the negative review.

We always enjoy coming to Zeezicht in Castricum. Sometimes we spend hours on the terrace, and other times it's just for a quick drink. We're always satisfied, and that's the main reason we keep coming back. Unfortunately, our recent experience was disappointing, and that's why we're writing this review. This is a point of attention for the team. We started on the terrace. We were actively asked if everything was to our liking, and someone regularly came by to check if we wanted to order anything. We decided to move inside. A friendly lady led us and indicated that we could sit at the tables without a reservation sign. Perfect! Shortly after, a gentleman came to take our drinks. His other colleague brought them. From that point on, we spent 45 minutes making eye contact with the staff inside to order something. At one point, there were five people inside, but no one looked around. You wonder, "Why didn't you just get up yourself?" A valid point, but it wasn't that busy anymore. Part of hospitality is regularly checking on your guests (something they were already doing incredibly well outside!). After a ridiculously long wait, we decided to go home. No dinner for us at Zeezicht. Again, I'm a huge fan of this place, but at a quiet time of day, you can't lose sight of your guests. Hopefully, we'll have a better experience next time.

We had a wonderful time outside, sheltered from the wind at the best beach bar in North Holland! The view was stunning, of course, and we treated ourselves to a delicious focaccia toastie—a solid 10!

Nice, cozy place on the beach. I've eaten here several times and every time it's been good. The food is good, and they have a wide selection of beer and wine. The staff is very friendly, and there are plenty of them, especially the neighbors, who are very pleasant guys. A tip: the apple crumble trifle is perhaps a bit too big, but very tasty, but a bit much for such a delicious fish meal.

We've been coming here for a long time, and it's a really nice place. What we've noticed lately is that the service has been a bit less "friendly" than usual. The enthusiasm and genuine friendliness are lacking, especially among the newer staff. That's a shame, because it really adds to the overall experience. I hope they can raise that to a higher level again.

Unfortunately, I can't share a positive experience. We waited about 20 minutes at the pavilion, but no one came to take our order. When I asked a waitress if someone could help us, I was told someone else was taking orders—fine, but even after that, our table was ignored. The terrace wasn't busy, and we noticed the person taking orders looking around. Meanwhile, other tables who had arrived later were being helped. When an older couple then came in and were served immediately, that was the last straw for us. We ended up leaving without an order, feeling like we weren't welcome. It was a disappointing experience, and I hope that in the future, more attention will be paid to customers who wait.

Delicious Tom Kha soup as a starter and unfortunately ordered risotto...as a true risotto lover, I was very disappointed. Two shrimp and seven mussels, and a lot of dry rice with a lobster-like color. I squeezed in a lot of lemon myself to create a bit of creaminess, but no...too bad, too bad... Otherwise, a wonderful atmosphere and great staff.

My mother and I had the pleasure of celebrating our party at Zeezicht beach pavilion in Castricum aan Zee. We all know the feeling of going somewhere and saying afterward, "It was fun, but I felt a bit disappointed in this or that," or "I actually would have preferred it this way or that." We can honestly say that this wasn't the case at Zeezicht. Everything was perfectly taken care of. We were able to discuss various matters with the incredibly hospitable staff, and our wishes were listened to incredibly well. The food was incredibly delicious and exceptionally well-prepared, they made sure everyone had enough to drink, and the venue is truly beautifully decorated. Our guests were also very impressed with this beach pavilion. Dietary requirements were also very well taken into account, and we received compliments on that as well. If you're thinking of hosting your party here, we wholeheartedly say, "Do it!" You won't regret it.
