A really nice and beautiful place! Delicious food, our waitress was incredibly kind and helpful! Unfortunately, it was very warm because the fireplaces were burning in the excessively hot weather. Management wouldn't even let us open the doors to let the air in despite the heat. The staff were also affected; some people were sweating profusely, which I found unacceptable/unhygienic, as the fireplaces and closed doors were clearly the cause. A major complaint from management; they probably weren't bothered by it themselves. Two points lower because of that.

We were here for a wedding. We didn't eat there ourselves, but I heard from guests who did that it was delicious. The ambiance was absolutely fantastic, and the service was excellent.

We sat on the terrace and enjoyed a wonderful lunch. We ordered the set lunch for two and thoroughly enjoyed all the delicacies. Highly recommended. Good parking, a lovely terrace, and excellent service.

Not 5 stars...but a delicious lunch tasting. The ham wasn't freshly sliced, had a dated flavor, and the profiteroles were a bit soggy. The service was excellent. We come here often and devour delicious lunches.

Top location – Restaurant Het Ruiterhuys What a beautiful location! It was truly an honor to be allowed to DJ at Restaurant Het Ruiterhuys. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail: a beautiful setting, a nice atmosphere and professional guidance from the team. The staff was involved, hospitable and thought along well during the entire event. I look forward to being able to DJ here again in the future. An absolute must for any party or event!

How does your review stand out among the many reviews? By only giving 1 star. They are read. Are you getting married or do you have something else to celebrate? Do you want to eat well? Plenty of other locations to choose from, because here you immediately enter a stable with a few horses pissing on the pavement on the left and right. Then you walk over it to the left for the wedding party I was at yesterday, for example, or to the right for the restaurant. Really. But wherever you go, you smell that penetrating smell of horse urine everywhere. After all, they have been doing this for years. It is an incredible choice by the management to stable pissing and pooping horses in the middle of a catering establishment. As if you are standing in a men's urinal that has not been flushed for a few years. I wonder what the various inspection services think of this. Or the animal protection. Because those pissing horses are also completely stressed in the corner of their open stable and look at you with sad, asking eyes for help or for a final liberating injection. The noise from the party room has completely stressed them out. If you address the staff about the urine smell, they literally say that they don't smell anything... Unbelievable. And I wasn't the only guest who thought it was terrible. It wasn't my first bad experience here either. A few years ago at another wedding, the same story. So if you want a nice party or have something to celebrate? Then look further. There is so much better to be found. Or you have to hate the guests. Then this is worth 5 stars.

Delicious lunch! Good portions and nice service. Pay attention to the parasols, they are not fixed and blew on the table and on us.

Celebrated a wedding party at this location as a guest. Compliments to the staff and the kitchen. My gluten allergy was taken into account during the entire party. I lacked nothing and was given gluten-free snacks or nibbles without asking! In addition, everything went like a well-oiled machine in a beautiful environment. Highly recommended!

Nice restaurant. Spacious and with a large terrace. Considerable investment has been made in solid building/decoration materials. Very comfortable. Service was alert and friendly and the food was very tasty. Despite a lot of space and a lot of wind, we were not allowed to smoke a cigarette. So coming back is not an option, unfortunately.

Even though it is supposedly summer, because it was a cold/rainy day it was cozy warm, with the fire place on. The thai curry soup (today's special) was delicious! I followed that with a small caesar salad with warm smoked chicken, tasty twist on a chicken caesar, highly recommend if you like a chicken caesar. Too cold for today, but there's also a big outdoor seating area. Beautiful grounds, lots of parking. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Will visit again next time we are here.

What a delicious sandwich with salmon, two pieces of salmon on it, just excellent. My sisters had a sandwich with grilled chicken There was almost 400 grams of chicken on my sandwich. In a word, a top location

We have eaten here before but this time we had a wedding. The food and service is always good and the wedding was a romantic ceremony with a nice party.

When it's busy, it can sound a bit noisy. Sometimes that can be difficult if you want to have a conversation. But the atmosphere and the service are great. Nicely stylishly decorated. And the quality is great. Especially the homemade hazelnut meringue cake is recommended.

With a larger group spacious table in a very nice atmosphere. Good quality food and original dishes especially desserts. Children's dishes well priced. Long table, top place, recommended.

The food was very tasty, but the waiting time was a bit long. It's best to reserve a table, but we still managed to get one without any problems. A Dalmatian runs around in the restaurant, but it creates a fun atmosphere and you just have to give him a piece.

Ordered something this week but never received it. Today Monday May 5, 2025 tried to order a coffee and the restaurant was empty but completely ignored by the staff and I left. No service at all. Never coming back and not recommending either.

Beautiful new building, lots of wood used. Just had a drink. Service took a little while (20 minutes for a drink). But very beautiful surroundings. Unexpected!

Nice welcome, super friendly staff, delicious food. Nice atmospheric restaurant. The food was great, but we won't be back anytime soon because the menu is too limited for our taste. This is purely our opinion and taste. But everything was delicious and the atmosphere and staff wonderful. So definitely recommended.

Update: We've been here a few times for dinner and it remains good and nice! The outdoor lighting has been installed and the paving has been finished/repaired. So much better and safer this way. Enjoyed it again on March 26th. Many thanks for the good care, the hospitality and for another nice card for our daughter! Until next time! What a wonderful place and nice ambiance! The staff is really neat, warm and very friendly. That's half the story with me! We live nearby, but have never (unconsciously) eaten here, but always hear good stories. Now that our daughter has turned 10, we wanted to have a nice bite to eat that day (during the week) in a restaurant with at least a children's menu and a nice ambiance. That's how we ended up at Het Ruiterhuys. When we entered, we were asked if they could take our coats and then we were escorted to our reserved table. A round table in a nice corner. With a candle, flowers and a dimmable mini lamp. Ideal! Once seated, our hostess introduced herself and also let us know that she would be replaced by another colleague (end of work day for her). It was nice that she let us know in advance. Then our daughter received a sweet card with a handwritten text with congratulations! And then 2 more employees came to say goodbye and congratulate her. She felt extra special about her birthday. Very sweet, attentive and not self-explanatory! We also thought it was nice that she got her own menu. Children's menu or not, as a gourmet I go to enough restaurants where this is not done or asked. It is precisely this kind of detail/service that makes everyone feel welcome! Even the little customer. The food was beautifully presented and was truly delicious. There were tasty beers on tap and nice wines! The attentiveness of the hostess was just enough and pleasant. Practical information: - Separate cloakroom - Parking in front of the door is not possible, but (with heels) approx. 1.5 minutes walk, so completely fine. There is some lighting on the path - Separate doors to the ladies, gents and disabled toilets - Sufficient lighting in the restaurant.

What a beautiful restaurant. Very nicely decorated. We had a tasting. Was delicious! And gluten free! Everything is possible, everything is allowed. The staff is very nice and cooperative. The environment is also so beautiful! Just take a look at the stables and those horses simply live in a 5-star stable. Very nice, clean and pet-friendly. I like coming there!

The property, food and staff are fantastic. Definitely recommended. Only the acoustics are not good. As a hearing impaired person, it is a cacophony of sounds that sometimes makes it difficult to understand each other. A few cloths on the ceiling could solve it, I think.

Yesterday I had dinner with my friend at the Ruiterhuys. We enjoyed it very much. A warm welcome and top service! I also really liked that a message was written with the bill!! My compliments. We also had the opportunity to look at the horses, pigs and rabbits in the stable. I definitely recommend having a delicious meal here!

Het Ruiterhuys is a very nice restaurant in Bakkum that used to be owned by a well known Dutch TV presenter called Henny Huisman. His daughter took over the place and turned this place in to a gem on its own, with offerings sourced from own garden and farm. Meat lovers will not be letdown with culinary pieces of art. They also have very nice dishes with fish or pasta. They also have a wide variety of vegetables and dishes for vegetarians. Me and my 8 colleagues were all very pleased when we visited yesterday.

There was a crow on my plate! I still had to wait 69 hours for my drink! Terrible taboo! Monkey sandwich story! Well done! Croquette sandwich was very dry but vegan!

After a walk we decided to have a bite to eat at the Ruiterhuys. It was already quite busy but space was made for us. Clearly expectations were created. Our hostess was Sanne. Super friendly and attentive lady. Clear explanation of the dishes. Fast service. We chose cheese flatbread in advance, highly recommended. Then a really delicious dry aged ribeye for 2 people. As a tour for the husband an apple dessert and I a delicious whipped cream truffle with cappuccino. We enjoyed the atmosphere, fantastic dishes and perfect service.

Very cozy furnishings next to a horse stable. Very friendly staff. Excellent cuisine but quite expensive. You can easily park there and they have a beautiful terrace. Reservations are necessary because it is often full 2 ​​weeks in advance.

Nice restaurant, looks neat from the outside and inside. At the time of our visit, the driveway was being taken care of. The ambiance is great with a fireplace and beautiful conservatory. We did not like the acoustics in the building. The service was very smooth and attentive, that was fine. The coffee (latte and espresso) was excellent. We had lunch here, we thought the dishes were reasonable to good, not very special. The portions were not large compared to the pricing.

Ate here for the second time, atmosphere a big 10, service not bad at all, so also a big 10 (Kiki was our hostess), we sat upstairs, but the main course could have been (slightly) a bit warmer, that's the only downside... otherwise definitely a restaurant to try out for a fork here!.

What an atmospheric place this remains! We had a delicious meal here. Service attentive and nice. Everything nice and clean and cared for. Food fantastic. We had the cod and salmon fried on a plank. The fish was perfectly cooked with nicely falling apart flakes. Then a delicious dessert of coffee meringue with cherry ice cream. Tasty combination. A small critical note is that I expected a small bowl of fries/potatoes for a dish costing 27.50 and should not have ordered separately. But it's forgiven! We will definitely come back.

Wonderful evening for my father's birthday. Under the beautiful Christmas tree in the beautifully decorated Ruiterhuys, always a pleasure to come. Delicious food and ended with the always delicious ice cream fondue. And as always with the very friendly staff, great evening!

Unfortunately, the cutlery was dirty (sent back), you were not taken enough care of and you had to wait a really long time for a drink. Also, some (deer) steaks were overcooked... very unfortunate for such a beautiful restaurant, not recommended.

A nice living room atmosphere has been created, making it a nice casual meal! Perfect location for large groups too!
