Fantastic location and delicious food. The staff is very helpful.

We had lunch here yesterday and really enjoyed it. There was a wonderful Christmas atmosphere, and there was a small fireplace burning outside, which made it even more cozy. The staff was friendly, and the food was delicious. We had the steak sandwich (Ruiterhuys sandwich) and a chicken brioche. Both are highly recommended. We'll definitely be back!

The coffee was nice and hot, and the ginger tea was delicious, especially with the homemade butter cake or brownie. Enjoyed it together.

A beautiful location, with plenty of outdoor space and a great atmosphere, even with the animals. The menu is extensive, and vegetarian options are well represented. The quality of the food is excellent, and the prices are commensurate with the quality. The staff is welcoming and down-to-earth, making you feel right at home, and nothing is too much trouble.

We were here with a group for brunch. Everything was perfectly taken care of.

Very nice restaurant, good scenery. Chose the burger of the menu, which I received as being tapid almost cold even. The new burger was proper hot but this time with the cheese on it (special request for no cheese). After sending it back again my group already finished their main course. Staff offered me a free desert which I declined, since apetite was gone. Upon receiving the Bill, the big surprise was the burger appearing again, this was another disapointmemt. The Staff took it off and apologized. That's the context for my review.

What a lovely place, we had a delicious meal with my boyfriend. We started with a bread platter, and soon after, we were served the carpaccio. Huge compliments on that, and the steak was deliciously smoky and flavorful. Unfortunately, the staff was a bit too pushy at times... I had another sandwich in my hand and the menu was already being shoved into my other hand. Despite this, they were incredibly enthusiastic and friendly!

Everything was FANTASTIC! The staff were super friendly, the food was amazing, and I felt like I was on vacation. The cod was the best I've ever had, so delicious, and the honey cake was also delicious. It might be pricey for some, but it's more than worth it! The atmosphere is absolutely festive around Christmas, so that's especially recommended.

We had a party. It's always well organized.

November 15, 2025: We went to this extremely cozy restaurant in Bakkum. We also saw Henny Huisman there. I thought he was the owner. The menu seemed to have a lot of green things on it. Not my thing. As a result, I found the selection for a tasty sandwich rather limited. I ended up with a hamburger. It looked neat and tasty with tasty, dry fries. However, the hamburger turned out to be bone dry. I gave it a 3 out of 10. Another thing I found annoying was that the fries had been sprinkled with salt. The third downside was the price. 23.50 for a hamburger and fries isn't exactly cheap in my opinion. The service was otherwise excellent. We did have to wait fifteen minutes before being seated. The wait after ordering wasn't too bad. We had our sandwich within fifteen minutes.

Six of us dined here. Beautiful surroundings and a charming restaurant. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our seats. The service was exceptionally friendly. You immediately felt at ease. We had a delicious meal and were well looked after. A place we'll definitely return to. Highly recommended. So go and see if I can tell you a thing or two.

We went there for a wedding. It was fantastic: the staff, the snacks, and the food—the wedding cake, the appetizers during the party, and the croquette sandwiches later—it was all delicious, fast, and very friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful meal in the restaurant, and the waitress (Yvonne) was super nice and helpful, keeping a close eye on us to make sure everything was to our liking and that we had the right time. After dinner, we had a wedding at the Ruiterhuys. Unfortunately, it's not around the corner for us, but we definitely recommend it! Now for part two of our evening and the venue. Friends got married there that evening in front of 100 guests. What a beautiful venue! Everything looked perfect, the snacks were delicious, the staff was super friendly, and we had a fantastic party!

A very nice place. Perfect for a cozy meal or a workshop or similar with a small group. It's also perfect for lovely outdoor walks.

One of our regular spots for lunch or a drink after a dune walk. It's a beautiful converted farmhouse. It exudes a cozy atmosphere. The chairs are comfortable. In winter, the fireplace is lovely. In summer, there are charming animals wandering around the terrace. The menu is extensive. I've enjoyed lunches, snacks, and high tea there. Everything was beautifully prepared and always makes me want to come back for more. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. They provide exceptional hospitality. The price is worth what you get.

It was like a horse stable with a pleasant atmosphere. We felt very well looked after. Even without a reservation and with the place full, we were welcomed with pleasure.

A really nice and beautiful place! Delicious food, our waitress was incredibly kind and helpful! Unfortunately, it was very warm because the fireplaces were burning in the excessively hot weather. Management wouldn't even let us open the doors to let the air in despite the heat. The staff were also affected; some people were sweating profusely, which I found unacceptable/unhygienic, as the fireplaces and closed doors were clearly the cause. A major complaint from management; they probably weren't bothered by it themselves. Two points lower because of that.

Nadat wij bij Sail Amsterdam waren gingen wij koffie en drankje doen bij het Ruiterhuys. Heerlijk op het terras gezeten, prima stoelen en 'n hele aardige kelner!

Next to the campsite where we're staying with our caravan, we and our family were truly welcomed like royalty. We were given an excellent table with a view of a fantastic wedding in the garden. Our menu selection was also taken, brought, and expertly served in an extremely friendly and enthusiastic manner. Highly recommended for a great lunch. I think the same will be true for dinner. We'll definitely try it out.

We had dinner here with my family. The staff is very helpful and hospitable. Even though we had a reservation inside, we were allowed to have a drink outside first. Lots of personal attention, a charming location, and delicious food. We will definitely be back. Great for kids too.

We were here for a wedding. We didn't eat there ourselves, but I heard from guests who did that it was delicious. The ambiance was absolutely fantastic, and the service was excellent.

Everything was taken care of down to the last detail: a beautiful setting, a nice atmosphere and professional guidance from the team. The staff was involved, hospitable and thought along well during the entire event. I look forward to being able to DJ here again in the future. An absolute must for any party or event!

How does your review stand out among the many reviews? By only giving 1 star. They are read. Are you getting married or do you have something else to celebrate? Do you want to eat well? Plenty of other locations to choose from, because here you immediately enter a stable with a few horses pissing on the pavement on the left and right. Then you walk over it to the left for the wedding party I was at yesterday, for example, or to the right for the restaurant. Really. But wherever you go, you smell that penetrating smell of horse urine everywhere. After all, they have been doing this for years. It is an incredible choice by the management to stable pissing and pooping horses in the middle of a catering establishment. As if you are standing in a men's urinal that has not been flushed for a few years. I wonder what the various inspection services think of this. Or the animal protection. Because those pissing horses are also completely stressed in the corner of their open stable and look at you with sad, asking eyes for help or for a final liberating injection. The noise from the party room has completely stressed them out. If you address the staff about the urine smell, they literally say that they don't smell anything... Unbelievable. And I wasn't the only guest who thought it was terrible. It wasn't my first bad experience here either. A few years ago at another wedding, the same story. So if you want a nice party or have something to celebrate? Then look further. There is so much better to be found. Or you have to hate the guests. Then this is worth 5 stars.

Delicious lunch! Good portions and nice service. Pay attention to the parasols, they are not fixed and blew on the table and on us.

Celebrated a wedding party at this location as a guest. Compliments to the staff and the kitchen. My gluten allergy was taken into account during the entire party. I lacked nothing and was given gluten-free snacks or nibbles without asking! In addition, everything went like a well-oiled machine in a beautiful environment. Highly recommended!

Even though it is supposedly summer, because it was a cold/rainy day it was cozy warm, with the fire place on. The thai curry soup (today's special) was delicious! I followed that with a small caesar salad with warm smoked chicken, tasty twist on a chicken caesar, highly recommend if you like a chicken caesar. Too cold for today, but there's also a big outdoor seating area. Beautiful grounds, lots of parking. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Will visit again next time we are here.

Nice restaurant. Spacious and with a large terrace. Considerable investment has been made in solid building/decoration materials. Very comfortable. Service was alert and friendly and the food was very tasty. Despite a lot of space and a lot of wind, we were not allowed to smoke a cigarette. So coming back is not an option, unfortunately.

Het personeel was uiterst vriendelijk en attent, waardoor we ons de hele dag welkom en verzorgd voelden. Daarnaast was het eten van uitstekende kwaliteit en heeft het bijgedragen aan een geslaagde en feestelijke dag. Wij kijken met veel plezier terug op onze bruiloft bij het Ruiterhuys en kunnen deze locatie van harte aanbevelen aan iedereen die op zoek is naar een bijzondere trouwlocatie.

Today our sister's 90th birthday, celebrated in the Ruiterhuys What incredibly warm people Our sister was congratulated by all the staff Then we enjoyed brunch. What a delicious sandwich with salmon, two pieces of salmon on it, just excellent. My sisters had a sandwich with grilled chicken There was almost 400 grams of chicken on my sandwich. In a word, a top location

We have eaten here before but this time we had a wedding. The food and service is always good and the wedding was a romantic ceremony with a nice party.

With a larger group spacious table in a very nice atmosphere. Good quality food and original dishes especially desserts. Children's dishes well priced. Long table, top place, recommended.

When it's busy, it can sound a bit noisy. Sometimes that can be difficult if you want to have a conversation. But the atmosphere and the service are great. Nicely stylishly decorated. And the quality is great. Especially the homemade hazelnut meringue cake is recommended.
