Biercafé The Fat King in Wijk 01 Stadskern

Good service on the terrace, nice beer menu, no other idea, was with a group and then always fun

Great pub in Amersfoort with over 600 varieties of different bottled beers.

Delicious local beers too, especially from 't Mirakel! 😃😋🍻

Various options for lunch, dinner and shareable snacks whilst enjoying the enormous catalog of beer (600+) they offer. Server was friendly and even picked some drinks for us when we asked to pick a random one from a category. Didnt dissapoint. Great place to explore and try some new beers

Amazing! Over 600 types of beer. Served in the original glasses!

Cozy beer pub with a really nice beer menu where you can also find special beers. The bartender was a real connoisseur too. Not cheap, but definitely worth it!

Best beer pub in Amersfoort! With the widest selection, although the choice of gluten-free beer could be a bit better..

We really enjoyed ourselves at De Dikke Koning. It wasn't busy when we visited, and we were greeted warmly by the staff. This beer pub has a selection of 600 beers, but just like at many other pubs of this type, they often tell you "oh, we don't have that one anymore." That was the only downside for me, but with such a (clearly) extensive beer menu, there is always an alternative. The staff are very knowledgeable. The nachos were very tasty. The toilets were clean (during our visit).

Zwerrie came to ask for some dinner, otherwise a super nice place and a bible of beers

Good place, beer menu with something for everyone and friendly staff, highly recommended!

Drank some tasty beers on the terrace. A few on tap. Plenty of choice in bottles or cans. The portions of nuts are a bit meager. Nice atmosphere on the terrace.

Lovely place to sample the most unique beers. Some are a true revelation, like the sour beers. Really superb. And very knowledgeable & friendly service!

A perfect terrace to enjoy a nice craft beer in good weather.

Very extensive menu and very friendly staff.

Enjoying a beer on the Appelmarkt.

Well, what can I say? A huge beer selection! Cozy inside and a lovely terrace on the little square. Fantastic!

Many types of beer, including non-alcoholic. The deep fryer isn't their strongest suit, but the loaded nachos are okay. Great location, always lively.

Beautiful café - very friendly (bald) waiter - if only I lived in Amersfoort I would come here every day - true connoisseurs

Great location and cozy atmosphere!

Looking for a place where the beer menu is longer than your weekend plans? Then you've come to the right place! An impressive selection of craft beers and staff who cater to your needs as if it were their own. Whether you choose old-school on paper or scroll digitally, they'll effortlessly guide you to your new favorite. A sunny terrace, a cozy atmosphere inside... this is one of those beer tents where you say "just one more" a little too often. 🍺

Endless choice and excellent drinks platter

Great cafe with a wide selection of beers... will definitely come back here again

Great atmosphere - prices - and bier selection !! Must visit !

Thunder nice place to have a beer!

Very good place with thousands of beers 🍻 I really enjoyed

Nice and cozy with a fantastic beer menu. Wide selection.

Beautiful beer cafe with a wide selection of beers, local, national, and international.

Great cafe. Lots of beer selection.

Great selection of beer and very friendly bartender

I'm always glad to try a new craft beer (or two) and this place has a curated selection of over 600 of them, so there's no shortage of choice. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and all in all probably the best all around bier café I've frequented.

A paradise for those who love special beer.

This was our third time here, and each time it was a pleasant location. A good beer menu with more than enough choices. As a craft beer lover who enjoys adventure, this is a great place. The waiter's expertise was also above average compared to what we're used to. We hope to see you soon when we're back in Amersfoort.

A bit prizy but great beers and a super cool location

We were in Amersfoort for two days and would have eaten there twice. If it were up to my husband, we'd have eaten there much more often. 😃 Great staff, who give really competent advice. Delicious beer and a cozy atmosphere. Definitely a must-visit when in Amersfoort.

We sat on a comfortable terrace next to the bar. An interesting range of beers

Great cafe! We'll definitely be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed the various beers. The evening was super fun.

Best pub in Amersfoort, especially for beer lovers. It would be great if they had a wider wine selection and a better food menu, although the pancakes at Potsenmaeker are delicious.

Great beer café with a huge selection of food. A great selection indeed, because it often happens that a beer is just gone or sold out. It's a real bummer, of course, when you think you've just made your choice. The snacks are fine, not particularly special, but just fine. The atmosphere, both inside and on the terrace, is more than excellent!

Lots of delicious special beer :) and great service!

Great specialty beer cafe with a huge selection, both on tap and in bottles. The waitstaff is also very knowledgeable.

Tons of beer options. Really nice place and reasonable pricing

Awesome! Go there! Super cool concept

A nice and cozy cafe with a very wide range of special beers. Quite a few on tap and many more in bottles or cans. The nibbles with the beers are also great here. We would like to come back here again.

Beer heaven in the Netherlands! So many amazing European beers on tap and in bottle. Along with a great selection of imported beers. An cosy indoor setting with a spacious outdoor beer garden with large and small tables for all sizes of groups. Tried my first Westvleteren 12 here, very special experience. Highly recommend visiting if you are in Amersfoort.

Delicious beers in a beautiful location. Nice staff and an almost endless choice of 600+ beers

Helped by the weather, had a very agreeable time on Fat King's terras situated on a cosy enclosed city square. Large choice of beers and other drinks available with good advice from friendly, skilled staff.

Very simple that card; but good, lots of beer (in type, color, brand, etc) good slop If you want wine. So me: nice and atmosphere, I just try and do it.

Great pub with an excellent beer selection! Great food and snacks too!

If you're looking for a real beer bar, you've come to the right place. The menu of beers never ends. Great service and really good beer. Simply brilliant.

Had delicious 0.0 beers. Tasty, not too hoppy IPA

Slight bias; this is our favourite public house and we are well acquainted with the publican. That said, excellent selection of over 500 beers in every style and price category.

Nice place with a bartender who really knows about beer!

Half the job is to find the place. But once inside its a great vibe and LOTS of beers! A small part of me does still wish they had more German beers to choose from

Good beer list with very nice staff and audience. Music is not too loud, you can have a good conversation

Nice extensive range. Lots of local beers. Nice café for the enthusiast.

Cozy café with good explanation about the many special beers. Good background music, really a cafe to come back to!

Last visited October 2024 Friendly staff, great atmosphere. Very good selection of beers. A must for beer lovers.

Lovely cozy pub with countless (lesser known and heavier) beers. Can be quite busy

Had a few special beers, extensive beer menu. Tasted good.

Large selection of Good beer, and very reasonable pricing. The staff are friendly as well as competent. They make it easy for you to be comfortable. All of the above is still true, except that now they have a stonkin Huge selection of beers. :)

Cozy beer cafe. Lots of choice. Top spot.

You can hardly think of a beer that they don't have here. Very good and relaxed atmosphere.

THE place to be for (craft) beer in Amersfoort. I cannot even begin to count how many beers they have on the menu. Cozy seating outside on a small square.

Friendly and committed service who really took the time to think about a choice with us, compliment 👍 lots of choice in beers. However, the appetizers are disappointing, they could be better.

Our favorite terrace in Amersfoort

Cozy place with great service. A nice place to spend your evening with an option of 600 different beers available!

Super cozy cafe with friendly staff and a very extensive beer list.

Nice place. I was there with a tap take over. There was wonderful music, a good atmosphere and a delicious well-stocked drinks board. I will definitely go there more often

A paradise for the specialty beer lover. The hundreds of beer types are neatly sorted in the beer bible, and the place exudes a pleasant atmosphere. Snacks also fine.

Best place on earth. Once you get here once, you will always come back!

They are allowed to hang air freshener in the toilets

When drinking beer is considered eating. Then it is great here for more than 600 types of beer. Good map with explanation. Good advice from excellent service.

A Beer Lover's Haven at The Fat Cafe in Amersfoort The Fat Cafe in the center of Amersfoort is the ideal spot for beer enthusiasts looking to unwind and sample a diverse selection of brews. They offer an impressive variety of both craft and bottled beers, catering to all tastes. The atmosphere is laid-back and inviting, perfect for relaxing after a long day or catching up with friends. Wrenches in the fridge, nice place nice beer list!

top selection of beers and a nice terrace. staff is always friendly and the snacks are tasty too

Of course there is a lot of choice in beers. Large range on tap (changing). Inside a brown café, outside a beautiful terrace. Ordered a mixed appetizer. Could be better. Mediocre quality or is it the air fryer? Friendly staff.

Really loved this location that I visited today. Great place to enjoy a beer. They have 8 of them on tap and many more to order as bottles/cans. The staff was very friendly and kind. Highly recommended!

Nice brown beer pub, extensive choice. Pleasant background music, enough space to sit and chat. And incredibly friendly and helpful service, who can recommend something if you're feeling stuck due to the stress of choosing from the enormous beer list.

Nice selection of bottled beers. Offer on tap is limited. Staff has knowledge about beer.

Nice place with a large choice of tasty special beers and nice, friendly, professional staff.

Cozy cafe with an unprecedented amount of beer types. We were surprised by the friendly staff and we really enjoyed it.

Totally unsuitable for people with choice stress! 600 types of beer on the menu. But nice atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and among the 600 choices also suspiciously tasty beers.

Many types of bottled and draft beers!

Great pub! Whether you are with friends or alone! Nice staff, darts for yourself and a club that plays on Tuesday evenings and a slot machine to play behind. Oh yes, and a delicious beer not to be forgotten! Highly recommended.

Nice cozy pub in the city center.

Nice and cozy beer cafe, tasty special beers and good 0.0 beer, friendly staff

Tasty bar snacks including, nuts, tacos, tostis. Friendly service. Chilled rock music playing whilst I was here. They have many outside tables in the pleasant square. And a lot of beer.

Great pub, lots of bottled and canned beer. Nice and easy and excellent service

What a great pub What a great game of jenga.

Flinke bierkaart, vlotte service en goed advies van de kastelein !

Fantastisch, schitter magisch ✨✨✨

This is a fun place to visit. Friendly staff and a great selection of beers.

Altijd onwijs gezellig! Vakkundig en vooral ook gezellig personeel.

Amazing bier selection. If you do not know which bier to choose from, ask to be surprised. Also, it is pet friendly.

Good café that serves a multitude of beers. Relaxed atmosphere, music at normal levels and friendly staff. Please like this review if found useful. Thank you.
