I had a hard time choosing what to get for breakfast because they all sounded good and picked the banana bread in the end! No regrets; the bread was soft, warm, and delightful. Choose a seat on the terrace by the canal! It makes the experience so much better! (Except for the bees / other flying insects though 😵‍💫)

An unusual time for a breakfast that actually tastes more like brunch. Therefore, even the option is technically a hybrid, with the classic cappuccino, a trademark of Italian style, accompanied by pancakes with a Greek yogurt sauce, cereal, walnuts, almonds, and honey. Excellent location, a stop on a barge at anchor on the canal in the heart of Delft.

We have been coming to Delft for years, and wanted something different for a change, so we chose Bij Best in Delft. We enjoy a delicious breakfast every weekend, and you wouldn't do that if it wasn't good; whatever you choose, it is always delicious. The quality is always good, and the service is very friendly and spontaneous, which isn't found everywhere in Delft, so you will be seeing us many more times. Rik & Ilona

What a lovely spot this is in the center of Delft. We thoroughly enjoyed an extensive breakfast here in a very pleasant atmosphere. Everything looks so fresh. The combination of fresh fruit and crunchy granola, in particular, was a real treat for the eyes and the taste buds. The presentation with the candle on the plate completed the experience perfectly. It is absolutely highly recommended for anyone looking for a good start to the day. We will definitely be back here again.

For quite a sum—€18.50 for a continental breakfast—you get very little food. A small plate with a small fresh croissant, a small glass of yogurt with granola, and barely half a glass of orange juice.

The pancakes and the flat white were very tasty, you sit right "on" the water, truly a wonderful place.

Yesterday morning, we went for breakfast at 'BIJ Best' Breakfast, Lunch & Coffee with my husband, children, and two grandchildren. The various breakfasts were wonderfully prepared and very tasty. The children could play happily while we had an extra bite. Everything was finished and it was all very affordable. The service was pleasant, friendly, and unobtrusive. I don't leave reviews often. This was so unexpectedly well-presented and delicious that I was flabbergasted. What you see here only costs 18.50 EUR. Freshly squeezed orange juice, a cappucino, croissant with cheese, pancakes, and an amazing omelette. Hands down the best breakfast I've had. Cannot recommend enough.

I consulted Google beforehand and ended up at BijBest. Good reviews, beautiful photos & videos of the menu and interior. I had a delicious lunch and had a birthday person with me; I mentioned this by phone beforehand. And sure enough, a beautiful burning candle on the sandwich for the birthday person and they sang to me! The birthday person was surprised and I was super happy! The order: 2x Latte macchiato 1x Coconut & Hazelnut: Delicious! Continental Breakfast & Egg-squisite Sandwich, tasty! The side dish sweet potato fries were delicious!

Went there with the family as a surprise on Mother's Day. There were delicious pancakes. And croissants. And eggs. And smoothies. Absolutely fantastic. Cozy atmosphere too, and friendly service. This is a good choice if you want to combine that living room feel with good food and good service.

I’ve been coming to Bij Best for a long time and always recommend it, which makes this review even more disappointing to write. I visited today for my birthday brunch and had a really unpleasant experience. I ordered a tea included in my breakfast, but after receiving it I noticed it contained liquorice root, which is not recommended during pregnancy and wasn’t mentioned on the menu. I politely asked if it could be swapped. Instead of a simple solution, I was met by a manager who was visibly irritated, insisted I should pay extra, and made several rude comments. Most shockingly, she questioned my food choices and implied I “don’t care about my baby,” which was completely inappropriate and frankly unacceptable. In the end, I didn’t receive a replacement tea and still paid for something I couldn’t drink. This really ruined what was meant to be a special birthday brunch. I’ve never experienced this kind of treatment here before, but it has definitely changed how I see this place now.

Go at your own risk; definitely not recommended. We were a group of seven people and had made a reservation last week. This reservation was duly confirmed. Today, we arrived at the agreed-upon time. Before we were even properly seated, a staff member rudely approached us and told us to "move over, because if it gets busy, other people might be seated." To clarify: it was a large table with an L-shaped bench on one side and individual chairs on the other. Our group included two elderly women, between 80 and 85 years old, who deliberately wanted to sit on chairs because it's easier to get up. This was completely ignored. A second staff member simply said, "My colleague asked me to move," and did so several times in 10 minutes. Without any attempt to offer any assistance or a solution. That makes me seriously wonder: what's the point of making a reservation if you still have to move so other people can sit with you? Then the entire reservation system is essentially pointless. What made it even more annoying was that we saw no effort made to check our reservation or the situation, even though the staff had time to chat about our table with other customers instead of politely resolving it. Furthermore, we were treated as if we were lying. One staff member said out loud, "I didn't say that." You didn't know, and there were three staff members present. "De-escalate? No, let's escalate, ladies?" We also found this disrespectful and completely unprofessional. We also noticed that the menus were stuck together and the table wasn't clean. This poor service and hygiene made us feel uncomfortable eating there—food poisoning wasn't on our agenda today. We ultimately decided to leave. Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant experience for us, and we definitely won't be back.

Arguably one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had!

A really nice place with good food and friendly service. The matcha they serve is ordered from a wholesaler, who pre-mixes the powder with sugar, so you don't get real matcha, but a sugar bomb. This isn't mentioned on their menu, so I assumed it was real matcha. I can't have sugar, especially not that much. Unfortunately, I still had to pay for the matcha, arguing that matcha is served with sugar everywhere in the Netherlands, which isn't true. A tip: please state on the menu that the matcha is pre-mixed with sugar; this prevents confusion and doesn't force customers to pay for something they didn't order. Otherwise, it's a really great place!

The food was not good. The continental and English breakfasts were not appealing and the quality wasn’t great. I really don’t recommend this place.

Had a fantastic breakfast here. The sandwich and soup were lovely, and my partner had the pancakes and said it was ‘one of the best breakfast’s she’s ever had’. They had gluten free bread for me, we felt welcome and noticed the server double checking ingredients to make sure they were safe. Would highly recommend :)

It is a nice place with a boat and friendly staff. Their breakfasts look extensive on the menu but they disappoint with how little protein they contain. You normally expect two eggs on a breakfast and a few slices of a cold cuts, but they give you one of each… Still, their croissants are quite OK and coffee is great.

Great location, the terrace boat has a very atmospheric atmosphere. The only downside is that it takes an unusually long time. A 45-minute wait for two sandwiches is not really okay. Breakfasts are tasty, but if you serve a croissant and two slices of bread, then add one mini slice of cheese and one mini slice of ham, you're left with bread without any toppings. More toppings with breakfast, please! Otherwise, it's excellent, 4 stars overall.

Besides their famous Bij Best Breakfast, I strongly recommend adding a Banana bread to your order. By far the best banana bread I’ve had. Their service is super nice as well. My omelette was a bit salty to my taste, and they quickly made me a new one after I brought it up to the staffs.

Quickly picked up a breakfast to take home. Surprisingly delicious. My daughter also got a kids' breakfast. Unfortunately, when we got home, it turned out there wasn't any lemonade or a surprise, but that can happen. We'll check next time we make it. I have nothing but good things to say about the food.

Another one of those places overrated by the ratings, but which we ended up going to, fooled by them. We were only there for breakfast, but the options weren't extensive or delicious. Quite expensive, and the waiter had a rather arrogant attitude. I won't be back.

Best used to be a household name, with award-winning sandwiches and delicious roasted chicken. Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated considerably. You now pay €20 for a salad that is nothing more than a simple salad mix with smoked chicken from the supermarket. Very disappointing.

Lovely place to have a weekend breakfast in Delft. My wife and I visited on Holy Saturday (19-04-2025) and although we did not have a reservation we were given a table (on high chairs, but we were happy with that). The menu is quite large, we chose to have (and share) the continental breakfast and the homemade banana bread. It was enough for each of us, but if you want to make sure you have that "full feeling" after breakfast then I recommend getting the continental breakfast for yourself only. Getting just the banana bread would not be enough to give you that "full feeling". The ambiance was pleasant and the staff were quick and efficient, although I would not necessarily say friendly. Overall, we are happy with the choice we made and happy to recommend to others visiting Delft and needing a place to eat breakfast around 09:30 am on a given Saturday!

Had a very delicious meal with the family on Easter Sunday. Great service and a nice atmosphere. The "Deuce Point" surprising combination is recommended, especially if you include the bacon.

Bij Best is one of our favorite places in Delft for breakfast, lunch or just a delicious coffee. An extensive and accessible menu in an attractive restaurant. In the summer, Bij Best has a terrace boat in front of the door where you can optimally experience the atmosphere of Delft. One of the few breakfast/lunch restaurants where you can make a reservation! Compliments for a hospitable and enthusiastic team.

The sandwiches are bland and ok like you would expect. The soup and small snacks are 10 on 10.

The weather was nice so we were looking for a lunch place with a terrace. At 'bij best' they have a small terrace (1 bench and a table with 2 chairs), but we were lucky because 2 people were just leaving. We were sitting in the sun and you are sitting on a small road overlooking a canal so you can enjoy people watching. The service was very nice. They have special combinations for lunch. These are not standard sandwiches. I went for the children's menu. My sister had a bratwurst and my girlfriend a sandwich with cheese and omelette (Eggs Squisit). We had sweet potato fries with it. This one is definitely recommended. It is very tasty and crunchy. We had truffle mayo with it, but they were actually very tasty without it. The Butter scotch latte macchiato is also highly recommended! 1) Terrible! I don't recommend it, I will never come back! 2) Too bad, below my expectations, I won't come again. 3) Ok, nothing wrong with that, but nothing special, nice for once. 4) Fine, worth coming back. 5) Excellent! I recommend, I will definitely come back!

Great experience! We went there for brunch. When asking to leave the chicken off, they were thoughtful enough to put a slice of cheese in its place! Everything was super tasty, very friendly staff and the price was right! Really worth it if you are in Delft! Booking in advance is recommended, it was pleasantly busy!

We ordered pancakes, they were soggy as they were bought from supermarket, ( I think they were from Albert Heijn) pretentious but not so delicious food. The combination they created with yoghurt and granola was also not brilliant. I don’t recommend.

Ordered the Crazy Croissant based on the item from @renze on RTL4. Beautiful crispy croissant with delicious bitterballen. Highly recommended for you if you are in picturesque Delft. And not to forget, the very friendly people in the service!

Gezellig drukke lunchtent met een huiselijke sfeer. Uitgebreide kaart met onder andere all day breakfast en diverse broodjes. De broodjes zijn ware kunstwerken. Ik had van het all day breakfast menu de Drizzelisious. Absoluut een aanrader! De smaak was echt tongstrelend en ook dit was zeer mooi opgemaakt op het bord. Personeel was ook super vriendelijk en enthousiast. Zelfs toen het super druk was bleef men aandacht voor je hebben. Kortom, zeer goeie eerste ervaring met dit restaurant. Hier komen we zeker nog een keer terug.

I had the Drizzelisious from the all day breakfast menu. Definitely recommended! The taste was really delicious and it was also very beautifully presented on the plate. Staff was also super friendly and enthusiastic. Even when it was super busy, people continued to pay attention to you. In short, very good first experience with this restaurant. We will definitely come back here again.
