We had a wonderful meal on the peaceful terrace. It's a great concept where you can order three dishes plus a dessert. You also get an amuse-bouche as part of the menu. There's even a small appetizer on the house beforehand. And what great service! The staff is super friendly and has excellent wine pairing suggestions. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll definitely be back. Small tip: add a drinks menu so we know what you offer in addition to the wines. 😁 For those who have to drive... 😉 Question: how often does the menu change?

Heerlijk gegeten voor een prima prijs. 4 gangen voor 45 euro kom je nagenoeg niet meer tegen. Aanrader als je in omgeving woont of verblijft.

Really nice lunch in the Gorsselse woods. Nice formula with a choice of many small dishes in a menu at a fixed price. With two pieces plus delicious dessert our bellies were full, but not too full to still work. Nice wines and not too expensive wines by the glass, enthusiastic young sommelier.

Jansen & Jansen, located in the wooded area of ​​Gorssel, offers a pleasant terrace on a summer day where you can have a bite to eat. The service is attentive and friendly, which contributes to the relaxed atmosphere. However, the interior is somewhat dated and dark, which detracts from the experience. The four-course menu was tasty, but the portions were very small. Given the pricing, a more generous size would make the total experience more complete and be more in line with expectations for such a menu.

Last minute reserved. What a delicious menu, a real treat. After offering to help move something, we even got a free drink on the house. Too bad it's not near us, otherwise I would come here more often. Keep it up!

Ate with 3 families. It took almost 4 hours before we had all the dishes. Fortunately the children enjoyed themselves there. You pay a lot for what you get. We were very disappointed with the food. The service was also bad. Plates after the different dishes remained standing. No cutlery received. Not for us again.

Food was fine and nice playground for the children. After ordering drinks I asked at the bar if I could have some water for my 5 year old daughter who had a sore throat while waiting for drinks. This was not allowed, but we could order spa blue. I explained to the lady that we had already ordered drinks but that my daughter wanted some water for now since the drinks were not there yet. And it also took a long time before we got drinks. The response was still no. Then I wanted to get water from the toilet tap with the plastic cup that was on our table because my daughter was in pain. I was stopped by the barmaid. Another guest who saw all this happening then offered me water from her child's water bottle. I was really surprised about this antisocial behavior. This while we had ordered several courses of food and drinks with a large group. We are talking about water for a child. Not exactly family oriented this behavior.

Super fun restaurant for children's parties! Snack buffet was very nice. They can play in the space next door. There was a big jug of lemonade ready for them. We have only had lunch there ourselves but will definitely come back for dinner! Thanks.

Atmospheric restaurant located in a beautiful, wooded area. In addition to the accessible lunch menu, you can also order small (slightly more luxurious) dishes here which tasted very good. We started with a luxurious snack platter and extra bread with dips. Deliciously filled with mackerel salad, sausages, nuts, bitterballen, crispy chicken pieces, cheese, pulled pork, olives and delicious tapenades. Afterwards we ordered some 'inbetweens'. I had the beef bavette with asparagus and potato mousse and a dessert from the chef (mango pannacotta with dried apple, coffee cake crumbs with fresh sorbet ice cream. Both super tasty! This was enough for me. We sat on the cozy terrace and when it got a bit chilly we went back inside. There is an indoor and outdoor playground where the children can play. Valuable addition. I didn't have to worry about it. Friendly service.

Second visit with a year in between. Location is beautiful, in the woods, silence and lots of play area for kids and in- and outside sittings. Quality of the food is good, one can say it looks very high class. However! Service and hospitality is worthless. First time we visitited, last year, our reservation was missing. Lots of trouble when we got there (group of 6 adults, 3 kids), eventually they made arrangements to fix it and we had a nice dinner. This time my mother in law made the reservation via phone call for 6 adults and 3 kids (and a baby) which she all made clear. She even checked and called back again after a few days to make sure everything was correct this time. When we got there they only had a reservation for 6 people in total. When we said that my family alone has 5 (2 parents 3 kids) and my in-laws (2 elderly 75+ and my brother- and sister-in-law ánd their 13 yo son would join, they needed to discuss weather they had enough table space. We were seethed at a large indoor table and waited for the rest of our party. When my parents-in-law came we told them about the reservation trouble. My in-laws went to the woman at the desk to ask about it and for what seemed to be the hostess of the evening, came right to us too. She kept saying they only had written down for a party of 6 including kids and basically saying it wasn’t her fault. They had other reservations and thuss couldn’t do anything else. She said she had a picknick table made for us outside where we could sit but there was no room for the kids. I asked her, are you seriously expecting 2 75+ yo and 4 adults to sit on a wooden picknick table without back support, for hours? Well, since she didn’t know what kind of people our party would be, she didn’t see the problem. She then proceeded to tell my mother in law that some people are actually smart by expressing what they needed at their reservation, for instance a high chair for a baby. My mother in law teared up and I said to the hostess she crossed a line by suggesting my mother isn’t smart by not mentioning our ages at the time of our reservation. I said this is unacceptable to treat people this way! My mother in law then again said she was sure to have mentioned we were a party of 6 adults ánd 3 kids (and a baby)! The woman said she would wait on others first and then try to move some things around on the terras to accommodate our wish to sit outside. Eventually we had a terrible experience, the service was lazy and late. They forgot multiple things, like the bread basket on the house, asking our order twice and forgetting to clear the table of empty glasses and bottles. I wish we left. I wanted to but since we were with a group it felt undoable. And where would we go then, since it was mother’s day. So we ate, left earlier then the rest of our part and hoped my father in law didn’t leave a tip.

Bad service. Management has nothing under control. They can't handle groups. There were 9 of us, including 3 children, not even very big. But reservations had again not gone well, and not last year either. Then she wanted to put us at a picnic table and 4 children between 0-13 years old had to sit on her lap or play. No backrest and then a grandfather and grandmother of 75+! I found it very customer unfriendly and inhumane. When the lady who seemed to be in charge felt it necessary to point out that other people are at least "smart" by indicating who is coming (ages) when making the reservation, tears came to my mother-in-law's eyes and I was angry. I said she is crossing a line with this and really can't say this! In the end, she first went to provide other people with their drinks and then see if she could move something so that we could sit on the terrace. That worked, but the way she communicated it was below all standards of decency. The service then remained slow, forgetful and inauthentic. At the end of the 2nd course the manager tried to make up for it by spontaneously asking if we wanted another drink instead of us having to ask for it ourselves. Never again for us and I will not recommend it to anyone! Our 4-year-old daughter also didn't want to go there anymore “because it all takes so long, mom”.

Visited Jansen and Jansen together with my wife. Restaurant is located almost in the middle of the forest. Cycling for a few minutes in a really dark forest has something 'sobering' 😀. But of course we have not forgotten the food, the relaxed atmosphere and the varied tables. We highly recommend this restaurant. Whether or not you have been married for 42 years.

Excellent food with interesting concept. You can choose 'in betweens' that's kind of small portion of food so you can have multiple dish to try. All also delicious and beautiful. Super nice service also.

Delicious food and drinks. When asked for a glass of tap water, the laughable answer is: "Too much lime in the water. We don't drink it ourselves." A reason never to go back and ask the water company what kind of excuse this is.

Nice to eat something not so standard for once

Wanneer je recent vanuit het westen naar het oosten van het land bent verhuisd is het weer even opbouwen waar je favoriete restaurants zijn. De eerste hebben we te pakken. Een fijn ontvangst door een vriendelijke dame, een slimme kaart voor lunch en diner met in-between gerechten. Wij waren er voor de lunch. Het eerste gerecht kwam vlot. Een tweede dame kwam uitruimen en stelde zich netjes voor na een intro dat we haar nog niet aan tafel hadden gehad. Dit kwam heel professioneel over. Bediening met aandacht voor de gast. De aubergine en bieten gerechtjes waren precies goed op smaak. Bij het tweede gerecht, kalfsburger(tje) en buikspek een portie friet en salade gedeeld. Was ruim voldoende. Na aangegeven te hebben niet gek te zijn op veel chocolade en caramel was het verrassing dessert een heel fijne verassing van citroen hangop met pufjes van citroengel en honing ijs. Het laatste heel subtiel van smaak en alles mooi in balans. We hebben genoten en zijn benieuwd naar de uitvoering van de dinerkaart.

Prima diner. Leuk concept, drie keuzegangen en een dessert. Gerechten varieerde van redelijk (Wild Zwijn, Zeebaars) tot uitmuntend (Kalfsburger, Hertenbiefstuk, Aubergine). Ongedwongen sfeer en lekkere wijn, wel wat aan de prijs.

Ate here with a group of 16 people. Service was slow and we had to place orders several times. Drink delivery was between 15-30 minutes. The food tasted very good, but not all dishes were warm. One person had to wait for his food until after everyone else had finished it before it was served. This restaurant has potential, but this was very disappointing.

Nice quiet restaurant close to walking and cycling area on the edge of the forest. Nice, quiet food and drinks. Lots of choice on the menu. Nice helpful staff.

We komen binnen en na de mededeling dat we een tafel kunnen uitzoeken worden we meer dan 10 minuten genegeerd terwijl er maar 2 andere stellen zaten. Duistere ambiance met duistere service. Toen we de barman en het koffiedrinkende personeel gedag zeiden bleef de reactie beperkt tot een “oh”. Nu bij Gastvrij De Hoek, een aanzienlijk betere locatie.

Enjoyed a delicious meal with some more special dishes through a choice of multiple dishes, so you can taste more and that's fun. For me the guinea fowl and monkfish. My choice afterwards is the guinea fowl. The service was good and friendly. Only there was some talking while I was praying, I'm assuming it wasn't seen because this rarely, if ever, happens in the many times a year I go out to eat. I think the ambiance is chic and the warm colors have been used, which makes you feel at home.

Excellent coffee and delicious spoon cakes. Then another cocktail and extensive drinks board. Friendly service, attentive owner and fantastic kitchen crew. Very satisfied. Nice place, quiet location, beautiful outdoor terrace and an outdoor playground and an indoor playground for the children. There is good parking space directly at the business in the wooded (walking) area.

Eten is redelijk van kwaliteit, porties te klein. 4 gangen menu gekozen, maar je kunt beter naar de zusjes gaan is een beter concept. Partner een toetje genomen voor 12,50 aardbeien met vanille ijs. Helaas geen echt vanille ijs maar een chemische goedkope imitatie en de aardbeien ver te zoeken. Geen aanrader.

Beautiful restaurant located in the woods near Gorssel. After a bike ride, we settled down on the terrace. We had a small plate with a delicious wine.

I really like what is offered here. Not an incredibly extensive menu, but sufficient variety, including cold and warm dishes. Service is friendly. Restaurant attractive, terrace needs to be "decorated" a bit more (now).

Na een lange fietstocht zijn we beland bij dit restaurant. We kwamen er voor koffie en een lunch. Mooi zonnig terras. Toen we een cappuccino bestelden en ook vroegen om een glas water kregen we een onvriendelijk antwoord dat er geen kraanwater werd geschonken. Dat was de eerste onaangename ervaring. De menukaart zag er niet echt professioneel uit. De lunch was zeer karig. Een broodje met 2 kroketten op een groot bord zonder enige toevoeging van een sla garnituurtje of anders. Toen er gevraagd werd of alles naar wens was en ik daar iets van zei werd er niet of nauwelijks op gereageerd. Onvriendelijk personeel. Prijs/kwaliteit laat veel te wensen over. Jammer, we gaan hier dus nooit meer heen.

Fijne plek met leuke indoor speeltuin! Maar als je iets vantevoren doorspreekt met de manager is het niet perse goed geregeld of georganiseerd als je er bent, en er wordt vervolgens slecht over gecommuniceerd en op gereflecteerd, zodat koffie en voorbestelde taart 1,5 uur na elkaar komen. Ook geen nabericht of enig begrip hierover. Jammer!

Fantastic place to have a bite to eat with kids. The food is very good and the play area is huge and fun from 3 to about 9 years old. You see your children a few times a evening to refuel. They are guaranteed to have fun!

Na een wandeling in de regio, zijn we hier neergestreken voor een late lunch. Wat een heerlijke plek, zo in het bos. Binnen is het wrg goed vertoeven. Op comfortable stoeltjes zaten wij met een glas heerlijke verdejo te genieten van het houtvuurtje in de openhaard. Om lekker op het gemakje te kunnen blijven zitten, kregen we schoottafeltjes aangereikt en konden we onze lunch bij de haard eten. Fantastisch! Overigens ziet de rest van het restaurant er ook ontzettend sfeervol uit. En de lunch zelf: de oesterzwam kroketten en het brood waren heerlijk, maar ook de sandwich kip was erg smakelijk. Wij komen hier zeker terug om de "inbetweens" een keer te proberen!

Goed ontvangen, fijn personeel, gezellig gezeten aan de open haard en een heerlijke lunch voorgeschoteld gekregen. Zeker terug voor een diner.

Delicious food, but it's a pity that the bill was incorrect. We were 4 people. 1 of us ordered sandwiches with spreads. These were 4 small slices of baguette with a small cup of butter and a small cup of garlic sauce. However, this was calculated for 4x 4.95 instead of 1x. This because we were 4 people...?? In the end they took away 2, but I also thought it was strange that they still calculated it twice. That's why no extra tip this time. We've had a similar experience before here at Jansen and Jansen. Then extra glasses of wine were added to the bill (which we had not ordered and did not consume But..... the lunch (4 courses + appetizer) was DELICIOUS!!

September 24, 2023 we organized our family afternoon here with twelve adults and four children. Beautiful location and very suitable for young children because of the play facilities and the option of a buffet for the children, such as fries, small snacks, etc. We had a three course menu for the adults. When the main course was served, no side dishes such as vegetables and fries were served. When we inquired, we were told that these had to be ordered separately. The annoying thing was that this was not mentioned when we communicated the main course and this was not stated on our menu (A4 paper), so what could we adjust? The employee we asked about this responded in an unfriendly manner to the customer and did not think an apology was necessary.

Met 4 man gegeten, alleen 2x een tussendoortje per persoon en 180 euro verder:..ik vond t al bijzonder dat je de menukaart online niet kon vinden. 3x Bakje friet a 4,50 per zielig kommetje ! Beetje onhandig, zenuwachtig personeel…wat van het huis is betaal je later gewoon voor arrangementen die je niet bestelde “ja dat doen wij nu eenmaal zo” oh dus een gewone koffie of cappuccino mag je niet bestellen? Nee dat bestaat daar niet….9,95 voor bonbons. Wees duidelijk in je menukaart zodat je mensen terug kun ontvangen zo blijft het een eens en nooit weer verhaal! Gemiste kans…volgende keer gewoon weer Loetje

Vandaag voor een lunch geweest aan de telefoon werd al moeilijk gedaan dat het druk was bij aankomst bleek er meer dan genoeg plek en deze plekken bleven ook leeg. Lunch besteld carpaccio salade was een zak sla met een carpaccio van de supermarkt er op gekwakt 2 stukjes komkommer en 2 stukjes tomaat en olie terug gegeven en een ander broodje gekregen deze was oké maar niet uitnodigend om nog een terug te komen. Jammer want het is een prachtige locatie en de kinderen hadden het enorm na hun zin.

Heerlijk gegeten op een rustige en mooie locatie! Prima service en eten en drinken werden op een perfect tempo geserveerd. Niet te snel; maar zeker niet te langzaam.

Heerlijk gegeten. Wij konden uit zoveel lekkere verschillende soorten dingen kiezen dus komen zeker nog eens terug. Lekkere structuren en wisselende smaken Wij zijn geen grote eters we hebben dan ook geen bijgerechten erbij genomen en zaten precies genoeg vol. Normaal eten wij te veel of te zwaar en hebben er vaak last van. Met kleine kinderen kan je daar goed zitten er zit een binnen en buiten speeltuin bij. Personeel heel vriendelijk/behulpzaam beetje onervaren maar dat was voor ons niet storend.

Echt heeeeeeerlijk gegeten hier! Wel enkele puntjes van feedback: de ingang mag iets duidelijker, was nu even zoeken ;) Ook kregen we een rekening voor €6,- euro voor twee mini broodjes, persoonlijk vind ik dat achteraf te veel (ik had verwacht dat de portie die we kregen voor 1 persoon was). Ook bestelden we een cappuccino en toen is ons geen keuze aangeboden voor een gewone cappuccino (6.50 in totaal) of een cappuccino met bonbons (9.30 in totaal). Later bedacht ik me dat me dat best verkeerd voelde, want die keuze wil je zelf graag maken & nu werd het voor je gemaakt. Er werd immers alleen cappuccino besteld. Ook kan de bediening wellicht nog iets meer “getraind” worden. Dit zit ‘m in net wat meer vriendelijkheid (vanaf aanvang), het bestek wat netter serveren, glazen meenemen etc. Tot slot is het wellicht wat netter om de menukaart niet op papier te doen. Persoonlijk denk ik dat het restaurant hierdoor nog veeeeel beter kan worden! Want voor ‘t eten alleen al zou je hier absoluut nog ‘es heengaan! 😃😃😃

Toprestaurant met leuke formule, je eet in feite alleen 'in betweens'. Was heerlijk met tevens zeer vriendelijke service, always with a smile. De prijzen zijn niet direct mals, maar zijn voor het gebodene toch schappelijk. Leuke atmosfeer en gezellige inrichting.

Heerlijk eten en mooie plek in het bos met prima speelgelegenheid. Zou 5 sterren krijgen... Minpunt was wel dat we naast alle reguliere drankbestellingen geen kraanwater mochten drinken, dit moest ook njg een fles sourcy zijn....
