Made a reservation for 12 people. Unlimited food and a bit of everything. Very tasty and good service. We had a lovely evening. Thank you.

Had a delicious lunch at De Babbelaer. The caramel latte macchiato was delicious, as was the sandwich!

The food was delicious and I highly recommend it. Definitely choose the set menu, and for bigger eaters, the all-you-can-eat option.

Tasteless food, oriental-style chicken stew is boiled chicken in colored water. The cod is also boiled. A glass of wine at Babbelaer is two sips for €5.10. Highly recommended!!!

De Babbelaer has a cozy and inviting terrace. The service is friendly and attentive, which contributes to a pleasant atmosphere. The food was generally excellent. The goat cheese salad was tasty, and the burger was also good quality. Inside, the decor is pleasant and inviting. One minor point of attention is the restrooms, which could use a bit more attention. All in all, highly recommended for a pleasant afternoon on the terrace.

A fantastically lovely place for lunch. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient. The seating is excellent. I think it's a popular restaurant; it was packed. We ordered the deluxe snack platter. For about 27 euros, you get an incredibly good lunch. Fried snacks, bread, various meats, cheeses, salmon, and so on. In short: highly recommended!

Als we in Lochem zijn, dan gaan we altijd naar de Babbelaar. De kwaliteit van het eten lijkt helaas wat afgenomen te zijn. De bediening blijft wel goed en attent. Dit keer kozen we het vegetarische hoofdgerecht. Hier klopte de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding totaal niet. Groenten te doorgekookt en te kleine portie.

“Cozy” having a drink on the terrace at the Babbelaar?! First we asked to wipe our dirty table with a cloth but unfortunately there was already egg yolk from the previous visitor in my clean pants. Ordered two limoncello spritz. And moved inside because it was still chilly outside. The table inside also turned out not to be clean. And unfortunately there was no limoncello to be found in the limoncello spritz. A bad lemon juice with sparkling water. We live in Lochem but we will never come here again.

Had a lovely lunch with 8 people. Had a cosy round table. Service was quick and dishes were delicious.

The food is ok, a bit pricey. A la carte a bit limited. The wine list for white is really bad unfortunately. A good full chardonnay creamy and fat would be nice. For me important for choosing a restaurant. Terrace is very cozy decorated.

Very expensive for quite tasteless food. The 30 euro snack board is filled with garnish left over from lunch, which is really, really bad. The service is very friendly by the way.

Food was good, good service. I often forget something, but that can happen. However, what bothers us is that there were 5 menus on the bill. While we were 4 people plus a child. Got cents back. Only, our child (16 months) had already eaten at home. In consultation, we ordered fries for us, which could be included in the menu. She ate two more fries from that. These fries were also extra popular. We gave a tip of 15 euros, because we always keep 5-10%. We only found out about the extra menu afterwards. However, we found that it was expensive after this mistake. That couldn't go back. It's a shame that a nice evening ends this way.

Babelaertjes menu is highly recommended, you can choose from several starters, main courses and desserts per person from a more than sufficient quantity. More than enough side dishes are included and more can be ordered for free. Attentive service and a pleasant informal atmosphere.

Ate tapas. It's not how it used to be. Mexican vegetables, are just peas and carrots, looks like frozen. Cremebrulee was just vanilla custard. It's not all that bad and a lot of it looks and tastes like ready-made food.

Come here often. Always good. Great that it is a gluten-free restaurant! But it is also delicious food and drinks for people without a diet.

We made a late reservation so there was only a bar table available. When we arrived there was one person almost behind the bar, not a suitable place to eat quietly, so we left. Maybe we will go there again, but at first it seemed small and dark, so it remains a doubt.

Aardige bediening, fijne sfeer in het restaurant. Eten niet bijzonder en niet in verhouding prijs/kwaliteit. Niet vers. Het is leuk om buiten de deur te eten en dan verwacht je ook iets bijzonders op je bord. Deze geserveerde borden kan menig thuiskok beter vullen en creatief opdienen. Lekkere cappucino :-)

The entire menu is gluten-free. There is gluten-rich bread, but this is kept outside the kitchen. So you don't have to think about anything else. The food is delicious, we had Babbelaertjes (small dishes). Friendly service too!

Went here for dinner yesterday. My girlfriend had a round steak and I had a venison steak. For that price you get a good piece of steak with salad and warm red cabbage and good hot fries. The round steak was good, but could have been a little warmer and rested a little longer. Taking the order took a while, but once you ordered something, it arrived quickly. Nice place for lunch Nice atmosphere and tasty food

Always very busy, especially between 12 and 1 for lunch, but there was still room for 2. We ordered the salmon salad and steak sandwich. Both were generously topped and tasted fantastic.

Was fine! a bit much for a lunch... but better this way than the other way around... nice tent and nice staff.

Unfortunately we couldn't go to our favorite restaurant tonight, but I certainly wouldn't recommend De Babbelaar. Friendly staff, and although I had the 3 course menu, my colleague was waiting 45 minutes for his main course. The fries were good, as was the salad, the diamond hare was tough, broccoli was stale, the salmon wrap probably came from the microwave, the ends were rock hard...really not tasty. Quick payment, and politely reported that it was NOT to my liking, and reported my grievances about the food. I will definitely not go here again....how nice. I am used to the staff coming over during the meal to ask if everything is to my liking.... not afterwards (mustard after the meal)

Very good food, friendly service, nice atmosphere, got a nice spot at the bar where we had a lovely sit with the 2 of them and it was neatly indicated in advance that there might be a spot at the bar. Highly recommended!!!

Disappointing experience – not for us again! We regularly eat and drink at this restaurant in Lochem, both privately and with our staff. After a long day of hard work, we wanted to relax with a drink tonight, at 9:40 PM. To our surprise, we were rudely sent away with the message that they wanted to close at 10:00 PM. This unfriendly and customer-unfriendly attitude is the final straw for us. For a restaurant that depends on regular customers, this behavior is unacceptable. We will not return here in the future. It's done!!!

Great, great service and a delicious lunch

The food was tasteless twice. The fries were fried twice, so they were hard, the broccoli was burnt and the asparagus was hidden under a tasteless sauce. More sauce than asparagus. So this rematch was also disappointing.

We came there especially for my mother to eat gluten-free, which is really good here! Service was not great for us.

Had dinner here tonight. What a huge disappointment. We opted for dishes a la carte. A chicken stir-fry and a trio vegetarian dish. This restaurant claims to heat the dishes in a steam oven, but it was more like heating in a microwave that was set too high. The chicken was dry and had dark brown edges, but at the bottom the chicken was tasty and the brown edges were missing. The fries were a mixture of freshly baked fries and fries that had been fried a second time. The stew from the vegetarian menu was absolutely tasteless. The broccoli was brown on top from heating too hot. We indicated the above after the waiter asked if everything was satisfactory. Something from the house was offered as compensation. We did not use that. When you go out to eat, you want people to cook for you with passion. And don't eat in front of you at this low quality level. If we, as a Mystery guest, had had to rate this here, it would have been a very poor score. Too bad because the restaurant is in a great location in Lochem and has a nice appearance. In any case, we won't be going here again.

We didn't really feel welcome. We asked if there was room inside. There wasn't. While others were given a place inside shortly after us. And they had not made a reservation. We decided to sit outside anyway. Sat for 15-20 minutes without anyone coming to join us. While people walked past us several times. We went to another restaurant. Even though it is busy, and you know that during vacation time! You treat every guest with courtesy and hospitality.

The food was delicious and the pace of serving the dishes was excellent. Very cozy terrace outside and even though it was full, you did not have the feeling that it was very busy and you did not look directly at each other's table.

Great atmosphere on the renovated terrace. Very friendly service. I didn't think the food was as good. I had chicken stir fry which was very flat in taste and dry. Fries were fine, but the lettuce was not really dressed with a tasty dressing. I've eaten here before and it was fine. Tonight was really disappointing unfortunately.

Wonderful place for lunch, dinner or drinks. Inside or outside. Not complicated, nice concept and excellent price quality.

We ordered lasagna and chicken stir fry. Friendly service. The food was blackened and didn't look good. No attention paid to the food at all. The bowl, which contained pieces of broccoli, was even dirty and burnt black. This was also not edible (Friday)! Only the lettuce (simple) and the fries were tasty. My husband's chicken was tender and had a nice sauce. Mine also burnt and dry. The girl who served us was very nice and made every effort. She made sure that we did not pay for 1 lasagna. Never eat here again, there is no love whatsoever in preparing it.

Just had lunch here with my wife, it looks nice, easy to drink, it took a long time for the food to arrive, the burger was overcooked and therefore tough, the taste could have been better, the fries were nicely cooked, my wife's sandwich wasn't particularly pricey either. I don't think the quality matches.

A friendly welcome. There are a few options for eating. Tapas idea, 2 dishes at a time or unlimited tapas or the menu. We opted for the card. I had Salmon Wrap, the excellent round steak and Dame Blanch. This 3 course menu was delicious. Everything served pleasantly by the ladies. Great atmosphere and definitely recommended!

Had dinner here tonight with friends at the cozy round table. The shop and the terrace were completely full. The staff did their utmost to ensure that everything went smoothly, but things did not go smoothly. It's nice that there was open communication about this with us, so there is understanding. We saw that they were working hard... The kitchen stayed open a little longer so that everyone could order enough and we got a cup of coffee on the house. All in all a pleasant evening, the food was good.

Lochem is a nice place in itself. After enjoying a delicious lunch on Monday 17-06-24, I asked about the options for dining on 18-06-24. After an explanation, we called after 11.30 am on the 18th because it is often full, so we did this. As far as I'm concerned, a 10 with a pencil

Well, what was once a very nice place to eat is now a place we will never go back to. We had dinner again last night and it was really a drama. Waited half an hour before we could even order drinks. Everyone got a bowl of chips beforehand, but we didn't. Very long wait for the food. Asparagus was inedible. Received a drink once and never asked for it again. After 1 dessert we no longer received a list to order. Very strange. The waitress was downright antisocial. And everything under the guise of "yes, but it was so busy". Half the place was full. What do you mean it's busy? And she "forgot" the rest. Stop it. Huge amount of money for bad service, bad food and 1 drink. Never again. 👍🏻

Een sorbet besteld, krijg je 2 bolletjes ijs met cassis en een beetje slagroom. 5 aardbeien niet schoongemaakt en een paar bessen. Ik heb nog nooit een sorbet met cassis gehad, er na gevraagd maar is niets mee gedaan. Geen topper.

Delicious food. Reservations are wise. Dog was allowed inside. Of course it is nice if owner and owner treat each other with respect. In any case, it is not our fault and the owner's fault. The Babbelaartjes concept is great. 2 types of dishes per course with 3,4 or unlimited options. It is also nice to relax on the terrace

Wij hebben fantastisch gegeten. De bediening is perfect. Het terras was op het eerste gezicht helemaal vol,maar ze hebben toch met een beetje passen en meten een plek geregeld. Het restaurant heeft een prettige sfeer beleving. Wij zouden deze zaak aanraden.

For people who have to eat gluten-free, this is a true heaven. The entire dinner menu is gluten-free. Delicious carefree food. Indistinguishable from gluten-free. Highly recommended. Make sure to book in advance, because it can be very busy.

Cozy restaurant with friendly staff and a good menu for food, beer and wine. For dinner you can choose ala carte or Babbelaertjes (tapas). The Babbelaetjes are neatly served for the entire table at the same time. Make sure to make a reservation in the evening, because it is (almost) always full. Can't help but give five stars, they deserve it!

I have celiac disease. De Babbelaer is a true paradise for me. If only there were more restaurants like this in the Netherlands. Looks very nice, is a nice thing.

We had a booked a table for 3 on there. website and this worked out very fine. The whole restaurant serves gluten free food for everyone (minus the real bread basket) but there is gluten free bread basket as well. Orange juice, beer and a rosé, together with one menu of tapas (Babbelaertjes), cod (a senior portion) and red meat for my brother (kogelbiefstuk), veggies, fries and a salad completed the meal. Dessert was one crème brûlée. The bill came to 109 euros for 3 persons. We had great lovely service with a smile!

Food was decent! Goulash tasted okay but the puree was clearly warmed up. Not tasty!! Puree was also included with the other dishes so...... also warmed up. We were there for dinner at 5 p.m., so still very early. We had the feeling that what we had ordered had already been prepared earlier and was therefore heated up. Very sorry. We went here on the recommendation of another local restaurant which was closed that evening and so we could not go!!

Het babbelaer 4 gangen menu gehad (wat betekend 8 gerechtjes). Heerlijk gegeten en voldoende! Gezellig restaurant en echt een aanrader. Fijne bediening.
