Great place. Good food. Fast service. An additional star for the great arrangements of the food on the plates. You can choose how many courses you want. As the portions are not huge you should go for seven or nine, whatever they offer. It is worth it for sure. The small cheese plate at the end was also very good.

We've dined at Teus about 8-10 times now, and it's been noticeable that over the last two years, the service has been consistently disappointing. Very professional and rather rude. That's a real shame. We also found the food quite salty last time.

Delicious food, pleasantly busy and a good atmosphere. The service varies enormously, the sommelier knows his trade in terms of products but it seems as if he has little to do with people. That is how it came across to us, but it is an important point for a very successful evening. His colleague made up for a lot in that.

Eens maar nooit meer ga ik naar dit restaurant. Op een onbeschofte manier ontvangen door een arrogante hooghartige bitse gerant. Het feit dat deze man nog werkt in dit restaurant is geen compliment voor de eigenaar. Ik zal deze beoordeling niet voor mijzelf houden en delen met vrienden. Wat een teleurstellende avond!

The food is good. But the waiter (tall one) is an absolute disaster. Perhaps he had a bad day, he serviced everyone with no smile, introduced the food with no interest, and I also saw many reviews mentioned this two years ago. Apparently the owner still want him more than the customers. Or he is one of the owners? Sincere suggestion, do not put him OUT as waiter, he APPARENTLY NO INTEREST IN HIS JOB.

The food is excellent. It is an explosion of flavours and the presentation is surprising and looks like something out of a photo album. The staff is absolutely amazing, so friendly and attentive, except for one man who was rather stiff and not very friendly. Fortunately, we did not get him at all rounds of dinner.

Beautiful decor. Some dishes excellent, others delicious. Atmosphere was good.

Een heerlijk 4 gangen menu gegeten met een flesje huiswijn erbij. Mooie presentatie op het bord. Vooral het rund bereidt op de green egg was voortreffelijk.

De ontvangst was nogal koel. Wat jammer is, het is tenslotte de eerste indruk. De bedoening daarna was vriendelijker. Het eten was heerlijk en het wijnarrangement paste goed bij de verschillende gerechtjes. Het tempo van opdienen was prettig, niet te kort op elkaar. Voor het eten zouden we zeker nog een keer teruggaan.

I just had a fantastic meal here, even as a somewhat fussy eater, the fine dining concept is accessible to everyone. Delicious fresh fish and vegetables, and to top it all off, the tastiest dessert I have ever had. The staff was very friendly, and the open kitchen brings a very special dynamic to the restaurant. I would definitely eat here again!

Teus has a beautiful open kitchen including a number of green eggs. They work with fixed menus (number of courses of your choice) and are flexible with dietary requirements, allergies and preferences. The quality of the food is of a high standard, you can spend a nice evening in a pleasant atmosphere.

Het eten is heel goed. Restaurant ziet er mooi uit, toch maar een voldoende en dit komt omdat het personeel klinisch met de gasten omgaat. Er zit geen warmte of persoonlijke aandacht in en ze draaien echt hun ‘nummertje’ af. Het helpt niet als ze voor je neus beginnen met schoonmaken van restaurant terwijl je nog aan tafel zit. Dan geef je de gasten echt het gevoel weg te moeten.

There is no better place to go out for a nice meal in Houten than Bij Teus. Delicious dishes from course 1 to the last. Nice variety of meat, fish, vegetables and everything in between. A lot of wine knowledge available for suitable wines per course. Nothing but praise.

I went to your place today with my boyfriend to celebrate our 2 year anniversary, the service was great, the atmosphere of the restaurant was very cozy, as if you were sitting at someone's home, I would definitely recommend it.

Het eten is het altijd zeer goed. Helaas werd dit helemaal afgebroken door een dame die zee hautain in de bediening liep. Wat een hooghartig persoon, niet echt een warm en vriendelijk persoon. Jammer, want ik kwam nog weleens maar dat houdt me nu tegen, gezien ook het bedrag hier nog een keer naar toe te gaan.

Wij hebben wederom een heerlijke avond gehad bij Teus. Het persoonlijke ontvangst icm de warme huiselijke sferen zorgen voor een warm welkom. De passie bij het personeel is goed zichtbaar mede dankzij de open keuken. Wij hebben gekozen voor een 7 gangen diner icm een wijnarrangement. Het was meer dan een mooie beleving, dit alles mede dankzij de uitgebreide toelichting op de wijnkeuze icm heerlijke gerechten. Zeker een aanrader en voor ons zeker voor herhaling vatbaar

At Teus... it could be that a rough, rugged, perhaps even farmer/countryside feeling comes up when you think of Teus, then that image is completely lost when you visit this restaurant. An evening of dining with friends, catching up and enjoying good cuisine. At Teus you will find the perfect setting here, we love round tables and even though the interior looks robust and rough, the restaurant has added just enough elements to make it attractive and warm. Starting with a small appetizer is always nice and a soft, beautiful little dish wakes up our taste buds. The bread with dip is on the table before we sit down, which is special and smart when there are not many staff, but also special because how long has it been there? There is a choice menu and we are asked almost immediately how many courses we want, but also whether we want to start with an oyster, which is quite strange because we indicated in the reservation that two of us did not want oysters. But this can happen, the dinner is very surprising and full of creativity with special elements that are tasteful and surprising! Everyone who comes to Teus experiences a special evening out. The wines have a good taste and are an addition to every dish, so a wine arrangement is highly recommended. We enjoyed a cheese board instead of a dessert and this has an additional cost and even though this was not mentioned at the table, we had read up on it and it was no surprise on the bill. The only and surprising element is the toilet. Such a view of the men's urinal, very special from the ladies' toilet. We enjoyed a beautiful evening and Teus is highly recommended, keep it up! Het was echt 5 sterren waard geweest als de bediening had meegewerkt om de avond speciaal te maken. Er werd hard gewerkt, de gangen waren voortreffelijk, maar we hebben weinig vriendelijkheid ervaren..

We komen hier al jaren met veel plezier en ook dit diner met mijn man was een heerlijke avond vol culinaire verrassingen. Bij Teus maakt verrassingsmenu’s aangepast aan de dieetwensen van de gasten. Omdat veel gerechten hierbij opgebouwd zijn rond vlees en vis, betekent dit dat ze voor die ene vegan van de avond (ik dus) iets heel anders moeten klaarmaken en dat doen ze met zoveel verve dat ik me altijd welkom en verwend voel. De chef verricht wonderen met groenten en alle plantaardige gerechten zijn mooi, creatief en heel erg lekker, terwijl mijn man en vrienden genieten van hun vlees-en visgerechten. De bediening is vriendelijk en vertelt met kennis en enthousiasme over de lekkere bijpassende wijnen. Een aanrader!

Price-quality very good. We had the 7 course menu which included some very interesting flavors. Some were a bit too similar in my opinion (and whitefish, whitefish, whitefish, vegetarian, meat, meat) but all in all a nice experience and worth repeating.

Wij hadden onze vrienden (echte fijnproevers) uitgenodigd voor een 4-gangen diner. Op het terras werden wij bij aankomst aangesproken door een wat norse gerant? met de vraag of wij wel gereserveerd hadden. Overigens draaide hij in de loop van de avond volledig bij maar het gaat toch om de eerste indruk (en die is meestal goud waard). Soms moeten mensen blijkbaar "warm draaien". Het eten was weer (wij hebben er verschillende keren gegeten) verrassend, smaakvol en mooi uitgeserveerd. Ook onze vrienden waren zeer verrast door hun kookkunst en de ambiance. Ik voelde me echter even in verlegenheid gebracht doordat ik, na keuze, naar de prijs van de wijn moest vragen omdat dit niet goed leesbaar was in een overigens originele handgeschreven wijnagenda. In zo'n ambiance is dat niet gepast denk ik. Een laatste tip: vermeld altijd een eventuele meerprijs voor een gekozen gerecht (in dit geval het dessert). Maar...... het blijft een restaurant waar ik zeker voor om blijf fietsen ; )

Delicious food, mouth-watering dishes

Voor het eerst in ons eigen dorp "bij Teus" gegeten. Wat een culinair genot! Zorgvuldig opgemaakte gerechten, giede balans en heerlijke bijpassende wijnen die per gerecht geschonken kunnen worden. We zaten naast de open keuken waardoor we het soepele samenspel tussen de (chef)koks en bediening konden aanschouwen. We hadden 5 gerechten gekozen met als optioneel aperitief dimsum en bij het hoofdgerecht friet met truffelmayonaise. Deze laatste 2 gerechten hadden we achteraf gezien niet bij hoeven te bestellen. De 5 gerechten waren voor ons voldoende geweest. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar!

After many positive stories about the restaurant, expectations were quite high when we put it to the test ourselves. This restaurant works with a concept where there is no menu and you are surprised with the chef's choice. What is also special is that they do not work with a wine list, so you really have to rely on the advice of the staff. The spoiled wine drinker has come to the wrong place here. We opted for the 5-course dinner and it certainly did not disappoint. The courses were tasty and the flavors were good. The chef-owner can serve excellent dishes. We had a delicious meal and there is nothing to complain about. What is a huge shame is the service. That will make or break your evening and there is still a lot to be gained in that area. There was 1 young man in charge of the 2 other waitresses and what a pretentious arrogant look this boy has. This is noticeable in his attitude and hospitality. Very unfortunate. The other young lady didn't fare much better. There was one who was friendly and attentive. The other two could learn something from that. Then coming back to the wines, the price-quality of the wine is completely skewed here. It's ok, but no more than that. Pricey for what you get served. Conclusion: good food, but not worth repeating for us.

Yes, Bij Teus is fun!! I once dined at the invitation of friends and then returned many times, but never wrote a review, so here it is: the fact that we often come back says enough. Whether it's for a planned fancy dinner, or the evening I don't feel like cooking, it's always good and fun. The "men game" evening was also great. The skills and knowledge of the service is good and this is shared with you in all friendliness. It is great that the atmosphere is always well assessed and this helps to create a top evening. The food is good, the wines too, good and beautiful flavors that are well combined. My compliments to the entire team

Had a great dinner here with a team of 9 people. Food was good, presentation was impressive and the service was on point. We had 7 rounds and I was able to do a fish only version of their courses. Restaurant has a fancy vibe and plenty of parking options outside. Overall a great dining experience.

Yesterday was another date night with a girlfriend. This time we went to Bij Teus, a beautiful restaurant in the old village of Houten. Even though I've lived here for so long, I've never been there before, so it's about time. And what a delicious meal we had and, above all, a fantastic chat in the lovely atmosphere of the beautiful restaurant. Dishes are not only a feast for the eyes, every bite is a party. The portions are quite small, but you can choose from 4 to 7 courses, so it's all good as it is. Even though the tables are close together, you won't be bothered by your neighbors. The lighting is a bit on the dark side, reading glasses are a requirement for the elderly among us. Fortunately, you don't have to read much, as the menu is a surprise for you. I found this exciting, but certainly successful. We ate tuna and halibut. So we thought we would get a fish menu, but I would call it a water menu. After the fish we got duck. That was my first time eating duck and I was not disappointed. Everything is fantastically laid out with matching garnish. Very colorful too, really beautiful. Dessert for me was a chocolate lava cake, without lava, and for my friend a cheese board because of no sugar. You can indicate in advance whether you will not eat certain things. We had not done this, but despite this, our wishes were still taken into account. No alcohol and mushrooms for me, no sugar for my girlfriend. Unfortunately, no non-alcoholic wine on the menu, which I think is a serious shortcoming for a beautiful restaurant. Nowadays there is so much delicious choice that this is actually no longer possible as far as I am concerned. Everything has been taken care of down to the last detail, with a complete view of the open kitchen where everything is prepared. In my opinion, highly recommended.

It's a matter of pretension, but they don't live up to it at all. The food is reasonable, but the flavors are not sufficiently matched. The portions are far too small, standing outside hungry is a bad experience as a restaurant. The food is not cooked properly. Towards the end of the evening, the open kitchen is scrubbed with brooms. Then there were still 30 people sitting at tables. You no longer feel welcome there. All in all a letdown.

Very nice restaurant in the heart of Houten. You sit around the kitchen, which creates a very nice atmosphere. The interior looks a bit industrial but very creative. You have fixed courses, only a choice of an aperitif, choice of the number of courses, but of course diet or dietary requirements are also taken into account. Very friendly staff, even asked afterwards what their favorite dish was. The courses follow each other smoothly, not too quickly, but perfectly fine. Because the courses are already reasonably prepared (except for dietary requirements), you will also come across very special combinations that you would not normally choose. In short, very nice, not very cheap but definitely recommended for a nice dinner.

It has been a while since I was last here, but this restaurant is certainly one of the gems in Houten. The food was excellent and the accompanying wines were surprising and delicious. You really come here for a culinary evening. Most tables have a nice view of the open kitchen where, among other things, the green eggs are doing their work.

We have had better food here in the past. For someone who does not eat game meat, this was simply replaced by salmon, served with sauerkraut, which was completely inappropriate. The wines are extremely expensive. The first course was already served while we had received the aperitif just before.

Lekker eten, originele mooi opgemaakte gerechten. Prima voor zowel vega, vis als vlees. Geen michelinster, maar wel een sterrenmaaltijd. Fijne bediening, veel kennis van eten en wijnen. Enorm verschil in wie je verwelkomt, de een is bot en arrogant, de ander attent en vriendelijk.

Eerste keer hier, maar een ervaring die zo goed is dat wij zeker terugkomen !! Mooie ambiance, prettige en deskundige bediening, bijzondere en zeer passende wijnen. Kortom: alleen maar lof en complimenten. Eten is prachtig in opbouw en van hoge kwaliteit.

Wil je iets anders, dan anders? Ga dan naar Bij Teus. Geen menukaart, eten wat de pot schaft, maar houdt wel rekening wat je niet lekker vindt of evt allergie. Aanrader!!!

Heerlijk veganistische gerechten

Fantastisch restaurant. Je eet er niet a la carte maar je kunt kiezen uit diverse meergangen menu's. De gerechten waren heerlijk en waren mooi opgemaakt. Dat alles in een gezellige sfeer met zeer goed personeel.

Wat een feest om te mogen eten. Alle gerechten even smaakvol en fantastisch opgediend. En als je dan ook nog heerlijke bijpassende wijnen geserveerd krijgt door een vriendelijke medewerker met absoluut passie voor zijn vak, dan is je avond compleet

Geweldig echt in een woord! Ok, eentje erbij, fantastisch. Genieten van een geweldig menu, mooie wijnkaart. Het is echt snoepen op deze leuke locatie. Ze hebben een authentieke locatie midden in het Oude dorp in Houten. Je kunt er zowel buiten als binnen zitten, chefs Table of even chillen. Van cocktails tot water :) maar met name de goede en vriendelijke bediening weten wat de Chef gemaakt heeft. Vraag ze gerust wat ze creëren in de keuken! Ben je net zo nieuwsgierig als ik, vraag dan naar de chefs Tabel en gluur mee. Bezoek aan het toilet (klinkt idd vreemd in deze post) is ook erg leuk, een cliffhanger… handenwassen.. Dus bezoek ze, parkeren geen probleem (elektrisch laden is mogelijk) en laat je verwennen! I’ll be back ;)

De entourage is super, het eten precies wat je ervan mag verwachten: erg smaakvol! Zeker een aanrader.

Restaurant van hoge kwaliteit met prima eten en kundige bediening. Mooie variatie aan gerechten die stuk voor stuk mooi geserveerd worden met goede uitleg.

Dit is een plek om in het weekend een avond te genieten en je vrije avond goed te besteden. En wellicht ook doordeweeks maar in ons geval was het een zaterdagavond. Onze keuze was het maximale aantal gangen, als je hier naar uitkijkt en ver vooruit samen afspreekt kan je het het beste gelijk goed doen. Een deel van onze tafel koos voor het bijpassende wijnarrangement, heerlijke bijpassende wijnen steeds voorzien van goede uitleg. Het andere deel voor alcoholvrije cocktails, die waren ook goed gelukt. En over het menu zelf: alleen maar lof. Heerlijk van smaak, prachtig qua looks en met steeds een goede timing tussen de gerechten. Vriendelijke bediening, spontane eigenaresse. Precies zoals we het het liefste zien: lekker eten zonder dat het een saai en te formeel is.

Super lekker gegeten, bij elke gang andere wijn waar ze ook genoeg over wisten te vertellen. Veel nieuwe smaken ontdekt. Komen zeker nog een keer terug!

Wat hebben we genoten bij Teus! Geweldige sfeer en heerlijk eten

Dit moet je zelf een keer ervaren. Het eten, de sfeer, het personeel... Alles klopt. Ga er langs en verbaas jezelf.

Elke keer optimaal genieten van het menu, de wijnen en de excellente bediening.

Eten is erg goed. Leuk concept, zonder kaart. Je weet vooraf niet wat ze gaan serveren.

Fantastische avond gehad! Iedere ronde was weer een beleving en alles klopt. Wat een top tent en top team! Jullie staan voor kwaliteit en wij zijn dankbaar dat we dat mochten ontvangen deze avond. Ons zie je heel snel weer terug!

Voor de tweede keer weze eten Bij Teus. Wat een slechte ervaring dit keer. Alsof we een vergeten tafel waren. Erg onvriendelijke bediening. Het eten was prima. Jammer dat alles heel gehaast moest waardoor ze continue dingen vergaten. Flinke rekening voor een teleurstellende ervaring. Het kaas bordje met een supplement van 6.50 sloeg nergens op. De glaasjes wijn die ze schenken bij het wijnarrangement zijn ook karig.

Ingang van het restaurant was effe zoeken (ga op zoek naar de voordeur met de bel, want je moet aanbellen!). We hebben genoten van een zesgangendiner. Voor mij was het genoeg. Overal top eten en fijne service!

We hebben met 9 man hier een 5 gangen diner besteld. De entourage is super. Het is een open keuken met 2 green eggs. De bediening was in het begin wat stroef. We begonnen met een amuse. Die viel een beetje tegen. De 5 gangen (€ 55 per persoon) varieerden tussen 4 en 5 sterren. Ik vond het supplement voor een kaasplankje tov zoet (€6,50) duur. We kregen toch ook geen korting op een vegetarisch menu? Wel goed dat je kraanwater kan bestellen maar om hier dan €4,00 per karaf voor te rekenen?

Aangenaam restaurant met attent en vriendelijk personeel. Er is geen menu maar je kunt kiezen uit het aantal gangen en kunt aangeven dat je allergieën of bepaalde afkeuren hebt. De gerechten zijn variaties op klassiekers maar zijn lekker en origineel. De bijpassende wijnen die we erbij hadden waren goed maar niet exceptioneel. We hadden het zeven gangenmenu met 4 bijpassende halve glas wijnen ongeveer € 75 per persoon. Middenklasse prijzen in mijn ogen. Met de zeven gangen zonder aperitief waren we ruim 3 uur aan het tafelen. Aan te raden. In mijn ogen het beste restaurant in Houten op dit moment.

Top restaurant, informele sfeer. Eten is op topniveau. Verrassende gerechten, mooie wijnen. Als je je wil laten verwennen op hoog niveau, is dit de plek waar je moet zijn.
