We don't give out 10s easily, but this evening was definitely worth it. This is the place to be! The culinary haven you hope to find the moment you walk into a restaurant. Here at Bistro Louis, everything falls into place. Ambience, flavor, and style. Enjoyed it! One for the books. Thank you!

Er was alleen plek aan de bar. Prima, dat was onze eigen keuze. Eten was goed, hoofdgerecht duurde te lang. Het tempo waarmee de barman met de fles in zijn hand een vriend van mij telkens het glas bijvulde tijdens het wachten op het hoofdgerecht, sloeg nergens op. Natuurlijk heb je als gast ook een eigen verantwoordelijkheid, maar gasten dronken voeren, lijkt me ook niet de bedoeling.

Het eten is prima verzorgd. Mijn vrouw en ik hebben hier een 4-gangenmenu genuttigd. De sfeer is rustig, maar de ober die ons ontving was niet bepaald vriendelijk (minpuntje). Over zijn collega's zijn we beter te spreken. De faciliteiten waren goed op orde. Toilet was netjes, stoelen comfortabel, kortom prima locatie voor een goed hapje eten.

Had a delicious Chef's Table 7 course menu, with matching wine arrangement. Had an evening-filling culinary journey in a wonderfully casual atmosphere. Chef Joost Verhoeven of the former star restaurant Cordial provided us with a fantastic culinary evening that was star-worthy.

One of the most charming restaurants in the neighborhood! Very pleasant, cozy and romantic atmosphere. Excellent service. Regarding the combination of dishes, it is better to ask again if you are vegan or have allergies. The dishes have a beautiful presentation and an interesting combination. Portions are not huge, but considering that you are served complementary snacks, you will not go hungry;)

Top restaurant! Delicious meal based on the surprise menu. Beautiful dishes with delicious flavors. And individual wishes are also taken into account. Price may be slightly higher than average, but the food, atmosphere and super attentive service are definitely worth it!

Had a nice meal at bistro Louis. A summer menu, with 2 delicious amuses, a nice starter, a nice main course and a dessert. Relaxed and effective operation. Low-salt and vegetarian possible. Terrace in otherwise deserted street, but yes, Mondays and midsummer. We will definitely come back. Fine!

Super tasty, flavors that I would never combine myself, which together create a surprising taste sensation.

Bistro Louis was recommended by the hotel we were staying at in Oss. It is in a delightful location and was most welcoming, even though we didn't have a reservation. I took the steak tartare for starter and it was absolutely superb. For mains, I took the lamb which was simply exquisite. The white asparagus was excellent and the "sauce of lamb" was incredible. My friend enjoyed her scallops and codfish too. This is a brilliant restaurant with top notch food and great service. The waitresses were very efficient and happily answered all of our questions. Even the chef joined in the banter!

Een toffe bistro waar de gasten zich meer dan welkom voelen.We hadden het kreeften menu dat uitmuntend was gemaakt door een chef die durft af te kruiden. En een gastvrouw die klaar staat voor haar gasten en alles ziet wat er in de zaak gebeurd. Een aanrader en jawel wij gaan zeker terug

Super! We had a delicious meal. It was Valentine's Day and they had capitalized on that with a delicious 5-course menu for 48.50 pp including 2 amuses. - the first amuse was a brick dough with peanut and coconut - the second amuse was a cream of split pea with mustard vinaigrette, crumble of rye bread and bacon, this was really delicious.. - the starter was a crab salad with mango gel, curry vinaigrette, avocado. This was my favorite, my friend still had corvina, but I didn't due to pregnancy. - intermediate course 1 was cod with onion compote, bacon, mushrooms and a cream sauce. Very soft again super tasty. Covering tip: given the plate, a small spoon would have been desirable. - intermediate course 2 was pike perch on stew with sauerkraut, jus de cepes, celeriac and herring roe, (together with the crab salad these were my favorites!) - main course for me was grilled corvina with gnocchi, artichoke, Dutch shrimps, in a sauce of ras el hanout and hazelnut. My friend got deer loin fillet with deer stew, red cabbage, artichoke, gingerbread gravy and lentils. What's great is that this is also served with a bowl of fries! - dessert was chocolate mouse with cinnamon ice cream, a gingerbread and sauce with pieces of brittle chocolate To finish off, we had homemade salted toffee with coffee, which was also really well made! All in all we enjoyed a delicious dinner, the kitchen is not very large and the restaurant was completely full with about 52 covers at a time and the timing was still good. The portions of the dishes were also good! Price quality: 10/10. The only downside is that there were no non-alcoholic wines or bubbles, only crodino, but that's just not my thing. If there had been, we would have spent about 20/25 euros more for 5 courses.

Wow, what a nice thing! Warm atmosphere, delicious food and a super nice young team. Amuse, pata negra, 3 delicious courses, a coffee and all in time for the theater visit. I haven't been able to do that before at restaurants in Oss..... but I did at Bistro Louis. We will come back here!

Bistro Louis, voor mij thuiskomen. My beautiful party yesterday was given cachet by the professional knowledge, service and enthusiasm of the employees. Of course, I was used to the perfect combinations from the kitchen, in combination with an excellent wine arrangement. So I could enjoy the atmosphere and everything around me. Tot gauw collega's uit Bistro Louis. Fantastic!

Ask 'Can I have the beer list?' Answer 'but sir, we are a French bistro!'. And well, every idiot knows that a French bistro doesn't have a beer list. Just look at the definition of French bistro in the dike van Dale: 'a usually overpriced restaurant with tiny dishes of which every ingredient is explained in detail. A bistro never has a beer list, because that's for the crowd. Here people drink wine and the bistro immediately determines which wine goes with what. After all, taste is personal, but not with wine. Well........ So much for the introduction. Then the food; starter was mediocre (and as expected: small). We took no risks with the main course: ribeye of 450 grams, so that was sufficient. Nice and tender, but hardly seasoned and at best: lukewarm. Pity. Ambience is quite nice but there were three tables occupied and they put us next to them. The neighbors' conversation - about 65cm away - could be followed literally. Why not spread it out a bit more? Then the hostess/service; to stay in style one word: haughty. In summary: Bistro Louis is not it for us!

We opted for the "Chef's table menu": 5 courses that were chosen for us. Every course was exquisite, the staff extremely friendly and attentive. No comments, it was GREAT.

Delicious food (chef menu, 3 courses with wine package), and great service. Casually mentioned that we still had to go to the cinema and all the dishes were brought out faster. It's nice that there are still people listening.

Unfortunately not an overall good experience with Bistro Louis. Ordered cod as a starter. This was particularly good but small in portion (I fully realize that this is a relatively expensive fish). However, after this the service and quality went downhill. This did not improve the atmosphere. Ordered "flat iron steak" as a main course, but it was so hard in structure that I could not possibly cut it in half. Asked for a new knife and it was brought with some reluctance. Even then I was unable to cut the meat and I pushed my plate in front of me. My table companions also noticed this. After this no further attention was received from the waiting staff. Apparently not enough interest to inquire with me in the meantime or to offer an alternative (e.g. ask to prepare a different piece of meat). It was not busy, only 6 tables. After about 25 minutes the waitress came to collect the plates. She questioned my account by saying that no one in the restaurant has problems cutting meat and indicated that she would take it up with the chef. Response came across as cold and distant. I was then told that it was indeed a bad piece of meat. It is remarkable that this has not previously been noticed by the chef during the portioning and serving of the dish. The disinterest of the waiting staff after this is also noticeable in a negative way. In short, leave the restaurant feeling hungry.

We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. Compliments to the chefs for how they managed to combine the flavors so well every time and also with the right wine every now and then... delicious. For us, we did not need fries with the main course, as we felt it detracted from the quality of the menu and the chef. Great!👍🏼🤩

Walked in and felt like I was in New Orleans with the music & decor 🤷🏾‍♂️ we had the 5 course with wine pairing for 3 of us. Everything was excellent! The time between meals, the service was warm, friendly, present but not overbearing. The food was 👌🏾 the steak was my favourite. Can’t go wrong here!

Attractive decor but very noisy, making it almost impossible to have a conversation and the explanation about the wines and dishes could not be understood. Delicious wines that paired well with the dishes! Bavette was tasty and tender, a pity that the red wine sauce was lukewarm. Service friendly and hospitable. Just a tip; When you cut the bread, handle it with a napkin and not with your bare hand. Don't carry wine bottles under your armpit or grab them by the neck when you walk up to a guest to refill. That doesn't look right. We work hard and professionally in the kitchen! And the dishes are great!

Very pleasant food in the nicest street in the center of Osse. Tables nicely laid out, nice atmosphere and ideal background music. Staff is exactly polite, but still very approachable. It's a shame that the waitress needed help serving the plates, she asked us to accept the plates, this may be because we (6 people) were sitting in the corner of the restaurant. Furthermore, an excellent dining option for a chic dinner to celebrate a special occasion.

Delicious food, 4 course menu with wine arrangement. There is a nice atmosphere, spontaneous service. We had a nice evening. One downside, it's a shame that the noisy tables were set up for the next day.

If you want the feeling of eating in a luxurious restaurant without paying too much, this is the place to be! The restaurant has a beautiful and attractive appearance. Don't be alarmed if there aren't many people inside at 5:30 PM, it only starts to get busier from 6:30 PM. Staff who still know etiquette, but not too formal. A sandwich and appetizer on the house! Delicious food, beautifully presented and certainly not too expensive. Really super excited! We enjoyed!

A beautiful Saturday evening, good wines and the ribeye is an absolute must. We come to the bistrot a few times a year. I think the langoustines as a starter made my wife and me sick. Vomited on Sunday morning and so on. Not nice, I still say,... 'it has a strange taste'....

Good food, but nothing really special. Accompanying chat from staff about food and matching wine is sad. The price you have to pay for this is completely lost. Perhaps they are trying to catch up here due to the Corona regime? It won't work for me anymore, we won't come here anymore. Update following telephone contact with Bistro Louis. Good conversation with owner about posted review. We quickly came to the conclusion that the large group of people present that evening did not help with setting the atmosphere. The service may also have unexpectedly lost some attention this evening. We agreed together that if I were in the Oss area again, I would like to take another chance to show Bistro Louis that other reviews show the correct image of a fit restaurant. I would not be exaggerating if I say this was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to and I have been to quite some Michelin star restaurants! The flavors were rich, complex and really amazing. This restaurant is a must try if you are visiting Oss. One last note, the dessert in the picture; AARDBEIENSLOF, is just the most delicious dessert ever! Thanks so much to the restaurant staff who really gave us a great experience and evening.
