Had an excellent meal, fantastic service. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Cozy place. Nice service. Delicious food and a chef who cooks wonderfully. Maybe not such a big menu, but very tasty.

We sat down for the tasting four-course dinner on Sunday. We had a truly delicious meal. Unique dishes, tasty combinations, and matching wines. We will definitely do this again. My vegetarian dining companion was also satisfied. I just think that you should get a new glass with a new wine. Serving the new wine with a leftover bit of old wine is a bit of a waste of both wines. But otherwise, top-notch. Looking forward to the next time.

The most beautiful village in the Netherlands! And that is certainly due to this special restaurant. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates atmosphere, good service, and above all, expertise. Very beautiful, well-balanced, and often very unique dishes, accompanied by top-tier wines that are still very affordable. And, to top it all off, a sophisticated yet excellent price-quality ratio. Visit that village, and be sure to dine at De Refter!

In the cozy center of Winsum, you will find Bistro Refter. Although it is called Bistro, you get a restaurant menu on your plate. Tasty dishes. Beautiful colors and flavors. But, because there is a but.... The food is good, I enjoyed it and am satisfied, and yet I didn't find it sufficient, so 3 stars. The portions were really small. We often eat at restaurants with multiple small courses in this price range (4 courses 60 euros), so there is plenty of material for comparison. It is a pity, because the ambiance, service, atmosphere, and everything surrounding it is fine.

We managed to snag a spot on a Friday evening. The other restaurant we'd booked at was cancelled. A blessing in disguise, because Bistro Refter exceeded our expectations. The restaurant's decor is very homey—it's a converted living room with a few elegant chairs and sturdy wooden tables. Throughout the evening, you're embraced by Charles Aznavour, perhaps a little too often, but his voice is literally and figuratively music to my ears. I think we were given cheese biscuits to snack on at the start. When we were presented with the menu, we quickly opted for the bisque. Chef Kor also gave us some leeway for another dish: ceviche. The ceviche was silky smooth and distinctive. The bisque was the best I've ever had. The main course, which is usually a disappointment, was a huge hit. Skrei, perfectly cooked and well-seasoned with one of the best beurre blancs I've ever had. A beautiful combination of sour, cream, and a hint of sweetness. The wine list is much more extensive than the menu suggests. There are many wines available to complement the menu. My only complaint is that I'd like a bit more explanation of what's on the menu. But that shouldn't spoil the experience. A top-notch experience.

I've eaten at Cor's a few times now, and every time it's been delicious and surprising! Highly recommended!

I attended Sunday afternoon dining for the umpteenth time. A fantastic concept. Enjoyable with your partner, group, or joining others. Eating is always a treat. In my case, vegetarian. Sommelier Inez explained the wine again. Thanks to Cor and his team.

What a great time we had on this ordinary Thursday evening. Besides the wonderful dinner and therefore to the chef, our compliments are certainly also for the host in the restaurant. This young man ensured a very relaxed atmosphere and gave very competent information and advice about the menu.

Food was amazing. Interesting combinations and chef touches. Staff superb, attentive, inquisitive: not over powering. Ambiance was relaxing, good vibe, fellow diners seemed relaxed and having a good time. Great wine choice. No rush. Overall a fantastic experience.

Der ganze Aufenthalt war einfach großartig. Das Restaurant ist modern liebevoll eingerichtet, im Hintergrund liefe während unseres Essens passend französische Chansons. Der Koch und gleichzeitig Besitzer begrüßte uns persönlich und stellte uns nach unserem Geschmack ein 4-Gänge Menü zusammen. Das Menü war überragend, die Bedienung aufmerksam mit sehr gutem Service. Hier hat alles wirklich perfekt gepasst. Es war ein wunderschöner Abend für meine Frau und mich. Am Ende wurden wir persönlich vom Koch verabschiedet. Nach der ursprünglichen Definition von Michelin ist dieses Restaurant wirklich eine eigene Reise wert.

What a wonderful experience! This bistro truly knows how to make guests feel welcome. From the moment you step inside, you're embraced by the warm atmosphere and the genuine hospitality of the staff. The chef is clearly passionate about his craft, and you can taste it in every dish. The menu offers a beautiful balance between classics and innovative dishes. What I particularly appreciate is the personal touch of the chef (and owner), who regularly stops by to chat with guests. It's a place where you truly feel seen, which is a rarity these days. We'll be back soon!

Unfortunately, it was a quiet evening, which didn't suit the overall atmosphere. Delicious food, delicious wine pairings, and a lady who knows how to serve. In short, definitely recommended. I didn't take any photos because the company was too nice.

Great atmosphere, nice service and a listening ear from the chef who does his work with enthusiasm

The food is delicious. But you have to be very patient before you're served and before the food and drinks arrive. We had a five-course meal and received one course and drinks after two hours. The restaurant only had seven tables to serve, five of which were staff members. The service could have been better; there's much more room for improvement.

Beautiful dishes, rich in taste, without unnecessary fuss: Groningen at its best. A cozy, atmospheric entourage. And all that for a "down-to-earth" honest price. No wonder this restaurant has been given a place in the Michelin Guide 2024. Really recommended!

op de kaart staan dingen als bouillabaisse en doperwten risotto , dat was ook de reden dat we kozen voor dit restaurant en we hebben er geen spijt van gekregen , beide gerechten waren heel lekker, de wijnen waren ook meer dan goed, de kaart is klein maar fijn net als het restaurant zelf als je niet standaard wilt eten maar voor een nette prijs wat specialers en -veel- lekkerders wilt, dan is de Refter een goede keus , de bistro is een ruime woonkamer met dicht op elkaar staande tafeltjes die mooi gedekt zijn, er klinkt een prettig geroezemoes , het is er meestal druk begreep ik , reserveren is wel nodig

Fantastisch gegeten met 4 vriendinnen! Heerlijke desem broodjes met boerenboter en olijfolie met zeezout on the side. Amuse knappertje. We hadden verrassingsmenu vd chef, verrassingsmenu vega, en 2 hadden een prachtige asperge soep en hoofd entrecote. Desert vd chef en creme brulee. Alles was mooi, lekker, compleet en voortreffelijk met liefde klaargemaakt. Het vega menu was smaakvol en verrassend. Attente chefkok.

Super lekker eten, en hele vriendelijke service!

Op zondag aten wij het nieuwe menu van de chef. En dat beviel erg goed. “Herfsttinten” in het menu in de vorm van inktvisrisotto, perfecte eend, rode kool, pastinaak. Wellicht niet erg revolutionair, maar wel met veel smaak bereid. Leuke wijnen! Wellicht ook aardig om te weten: mooie prijs- kwaliteit verhouding.

Bijzondere, originele gerechten. Ingredienten zijn van goede kwaliteit. Alle tijd om van het eten te genieten.

Heerlijk Frans restaurant. Fantastisch gegeten, fijne bediening. Bierkaart en non-alcohol wat magertjes maar de wijn en de French coffee op verzoek waren top!

Mijn partner en ik hebben de kalfssukade met aardappelpuree en spinazie gehad. Echt lekker en malse moet ik zeggen! Boven verwachting.

Wat hebben we daar bijzonder goed gegeten. Geen groot restaurant dus verstandig om te reserveren.

Super fijn restaurant in hartje WInsum. Heerlijk eten, fijne sfeer, goede wijnen en vooral hele lekkere desserts :)

Cor en zijn team bezorgen ons elke keer weer een heel genoeglijke avond. Het eten is altijd overweldigend en de sfeer en ontvangst eveneens.

Gisteravond opnieuw heerlijk en gezellig gegeten bij De Refter. Geen standaard menu, iets bijzonders voor en betaalbare prijs en met zorg klaargemaakt ! Ook de bediening was prima.

Veur n goud bord waarm eten! Van haarten aanbevolen. As ie joe gastronomisch en hoog op smoak ais vernuvern willen is dit n aibelse beste stee om ais uutgebraaid noa n ommelaandse raais te plaaistern. Wat doar aan degelke hoesmanskost en drinkerij mit Grunnegs-Fraanze flair op toavel komt is gain mondjeploag en t Is hier goud wezen.. .

Erg lekker vegetarisch menu, en erg vriendelijk

Heerlijk gegeten in Winsum. Super leuke, sympathieke kok eigenaar die fantastisch kookt; sterwaardig! Er is meer dan je denkt boven Groningen.

Heerlijk eten voor een goede prijs. Goede bediening

Gisteren 4-gangen kerstmenu opgehaald (...corona...) en vandaag op mijn verjaardag als nieuwkomers in Winsum gegeten.....werkelijk voortreffelijk! Die snappen wat smaak en koken is....

Heerlijk gegeten. Door goede handleiding en paar simpele handelingen thuis lekker warm eten op tafel. Echt een aanrader.

Voorgerecht burrata van harte aanbevolen. Entrecote wordt bij afhalen gebakken en was heerlijk mals. Superkwaliteit. Complimenten voor de kok. Eet smakelijk.

Heerlijk chique geluncht, fantastische kok.

Wij hadden ons buitengewoon verheugd op ons bezoek aan Refter, maar helaas viel de avond tegen. Bediening is niet uitnodigend, heeft geen kennis van zaken, is werkelijk niet vooruit te branden, neemt geen initiatief, serveert een fles wijn die niet besteld is maar die wel al is geopend, laat het dessert omvallen maar serveert het vervolgens wel uit. De bisque vooraf was goed. Vervolgens de scholfilet uit het menu: hoeveelheid hollandaise en filet volledig uit verhouding. Twee filets waren voor de prijs van 12€ passender geweest. Vervolgens was de risotto (hoofd) van mijn tafelgenote droog en niet op smaak. Gerecht teruggegeven en gezien het tempo van de keuken en de bediening geen vervangend gerecht gevraagd. Chef kwam aan tafel en stelde voor het teruggegeven gerecht "op te piepen" met wat bouillon. Huh? "Nog een bakje frites dan?" Nee dank. Vervolgens bestelde ik het dessert uit het menu: abrikoos met vanille, amandelparfait en verveine. De parfait was geen parfait, maar ijs met kristallen en de abrikoos was te hard. De vanillesaus met verveine was wel lekker. Bij het afrekenen schoot de chef vlug de afwaskeuken in. De risotto ging van de rekening, maar er werd geen compensatie aangeboden. Ten slotte mochten we onszelf uitlaten.

Héérlijk gegeten,plezierige ambiance, prettige bediening! Zeker een aanrader!

Wat een pareltje in Winsum! De kwaliteit en bereiding van het eten. Goede wijnen en een heerlijk kaasplankje. Prima bediening en een chef kok die belangstelling heeft voor zijn gasten. Wij komen zeker terug.
