We ate here in August with four people; everything we ordered tasted excellent! Prompt and friendly service.

Great Chinese, Indian, and Thai food.

We placed an order via the menu on the website. Upon pickup, it turned out that they have been charging different prices since June of last year (new owners). We even had to pay for the plastic containers. It ended up being €35 more expensive. The spring roll was full of bean sprouts but tasteless. We will not be ordering from here again!

I've known Blue Lotus since I was a kid in the '90s, and I grew up here. We decided to try local takeout again, and you can see the restaurant hasn't changed much, except for the carpet and the freshwater aquarium. I understand it's also under new ownership recently. The language barrier was a bit of a challenge when placing our order, but we managed. The food is decent by Chinese standards, with generous portions and affordable (Bami goreng, spring roll specials, and satay sauce). 4 stars 👍🏻

Seated next to a wonderfully peaceful aquarium, the music is playing at a gentle pace, the service is very friendly and hospitable (although the language skills don't always work out completely), and the food is served on plates that keep it warm.

My favorite Chinese restaurant for years. Since the new owners, the food seems to have only improved! You can tell they're cooking more Sichuan-style. Tip: the spring rolls are fresh and divine. Look, don't expect Michelin-star quality here. But if you're looking for affordable Chinese takeout, Blue Lotus is worth the detour.

Usually it is reasonable but this was the last time the monthly menu was expensive and inedible, meat hard, very salty, babi ketjap thick, fried banana dry, tomato soup salty and thick, actually nothing tasty, a shame but it was very disgusting

Unfortunately, the food was truly awful. This was my worst Chinese meal in recent years. The classic dishes, Foe Yong Hai and Babi Pangang, had strange flavors; nothing like what you'd normally expect from a Dutch-Chinese restaurant. And the satay (sauce) had almost no flavor. Two stars instead of one because the staff was friendly.

After An Tong and Tong Ah closed, Blue Lotus is the only Chinese restaurant in our area. Unfortunately, the quality isn't great and they're incredibly expensive. Babi Pangang is far too thick with grease and a disgusting slimy, colorless sauce. The Fou Young Hai sauce is lumpy, as if it's been in the freezer for months, and it's incredibly salty. Cha Siew is also cut far too thickly and has very little marinade. Koe Lou Yuk comes without sweet and sour sauce. Only the Chicken Satay, Nasi Gou, and Bami are fine. A few years ago, Blue Lotus was much better. This was our last visit. I'll drive a bit further to De Bilt or Bilthoven from now on. Update September 18: We gave it another try because we were in the area and needed a quick bite. A world of difference from last time. Everything was delicious again. No lumpy sauce and not too salty. I read that there's apparently a new owner, who seems to have cleaned things up a bit. The only downside is that the sauce served separately with the fou young hai instead of on top, which leaves you a bit short, and the sauce with the koe loe yuk should actually be a red sweet and sour sauce. But I'm glad it's improved! Update November 16: Because it was so good last time, I ordered some more. And unfortunately, this time it was back to the usual poor quality. Cha Siew is thick, fatty, and gray, while these should be lean strips with a little sweet and sour marinade. The babi pangang sauce seemed like ready-made junk from the freezer again. Moreover, it has a hint of coconut in it and is very sweet, while babi pangang is supposed to be slightly spicy. And this time the satay also seemed less good; it used to be the best they've ever had, but both the chicken and peanut sauce tasted different. This was our last time. From now on, we'll drive a bit further to De Bilt or Bilthoven.

Just had dinner with my wife. Delicious food and friendly staff. The lady speaks broken Dutch, but that's no problem at all. We'll definitely go again!

Just ordered dinner. I have a gluten allergy, and when I asked if they could make the chicken curry gluten-free, they said they could. Once home, I discovered there was no sauce with the chicken curry; they hadn't mentioned this over the phone. When I called back and explained this, they didn't really offer a solution. The food was also very mediocre!

We went last Sunday. Then we discovered it was the owner's last night and that it had officially been sold. The atmosphere was super cozy, the restaurant was busy, and we always received prompt and friendly service. The food...? Absolutely delicious!!! Generous portions and delicious flavor. We'll be back soon to see the changes, but hopefully it maintains this quality, so we'll be regulars for the next 20 years! Best of luck!

I walked in and was told "yes"...I said yes. The lady walked up to me and said "yes" again. I said, "I want to order something"...yes, she said again. "What?" I thought, oh my...1 bami. "Yes, 7.20," the lady said. "Pay by card?" I said, "okay." I hadn't finished yet when she helped the person behind me. I went home. I was just eating scallions by then. Ugh. So friendly (but not really) and the food was inedible. I'll definitely never go back.

Fantastic restaurant!!!👌 15 years ago, I regularly got my fillet steak number 140 in spicy sauce with nuts. I loved it then 😋 and to my great delight, they still make this delicious dish. When I tasted it, it was just as delicious with the unparalleled fillet steak incorporated. What a delight, and the restaurant is still just as neat and cheerful 👌. A sulfur geweldig Chinees restaurant met ook een kaart voor Thais eten. Ik ben vooral vegetariër maar voor de biefstuk in pikante saus met nootjes maak ik een uitzondering. Tip, met witte rijst erbij vind ik dit het akker lekkerste 🧑‍🍳😋😋😋 Alles blinkend schoon en kleurrijk binnen. Top locatie 👌🧑‍🍳🎉

We went back after a long time. We weren't really satisfied last time. It seems there's a new chef now. What a delight it is now! We had a set menu and it was excellent. Despite the slightly longer wait, it was very much worth it...great!

The wait is way too long!! Even after ordering online, I still had to wait half an hour. The staff is inexperienced and far too young. The food is usually fine, but last time it was mediocre and cold. (And very expensive!)

We were really shocked yesterday. We picked up two spring rolls, as usual. They were always great, fantastic. But yesterday we got something truly disgusting. Overcooked bean sprouts, questionable chicken (or was it egg?), a very mediocre, greasy meal. I wonder what's going on at the restaurant.

GEEN AANRADER/VERSCHRIKKELIJKE BELEVING. Na een uur stond het eten pas op tafel. Er waren twee tafels en zelfs na het opnemen van het eten wist men nog niet wat wij hadden besteld. De jongens kregen de schuld die het eten hadden opgenomen. De vrouw stond te schelden bij de balie op de jongens wat wij in het restaurant konden horen. Het eten was slecht gevuld. Echt minimalisme. Ongehoord! Zelfs bij het afrekenen wist mevrouw de tafels nog te verwisselen. Ook waren de wijnglazen voor een kwart vol. GEEN AANRADER!

We have been getting and eating here for years, the food is good. But the staff is all very young and inexperienced and no guidance, when they pick up the beer glasses to fill you do not get a new or rinsed glass but you have to remember what your glass is. You have to wait more than half an hour to pick up, while there is almost no customer and you just need very simple nasi and cow cake. Unfortunately it is a decline after all these years. Next time, look somewhere else.

This company sells under the name Cozy Vent on Bol.com and does not fulfill their agreement regarding the delivery time of a cat birthday gift. This organization is absolutely not recommended. The food in the restaurant will probably be delicious

The number of Chinese-Indian restaurants in Zeist is decreasing, but the Blue Lotus is still there and that's simply because the food is always delicious here! Highly recommended as a starter: 30a Ton Yam Kung soup, a bit spicy but very tasty Main course (my preference): 143. Yu Hung Ngau Yuk (steak with sambal, garlic and ginger in a spicy sauce) Try it very tasty

Slechter heb ik het nog nooit mee gemaakt - 1 uur wachten op het maandmenu terwijl er maar 2 mensen voor je zijn die ook al besteld hadden - Alle sauzen en de soep is zetmeel met wat smaakversterker - zowel de babi als ook een kip gerecht is oud, vies en vet.. Afvalvlees.?? - De gebruikte groente in het wok gerecht is slap en waarschijnlijk opgewarmd omdat de kleur van de saus in diep in de groente is ingetrokken.. Kortom : nooit meer, vermijden...

Not bad, but my (still) regular Chinese in Utrecht tastes much better. It seems like they use almost no salt at Blue Lotus. The Babi Pangang is tasty, but you really have to add salt yourself to season it. Maybe they do this to make sure you don't eat too much salt, but I haven't experienced this anywhere else. I also think that the containers with nasi/rice/bambi are quite small. I think they have gotten smaller over time. As a result, the price has remained the same in recent years, but you do get a little less for your money. The food is prepared quickly. All in all quite good, but I would rather continue visiting my regular Chinese in Utrecht.

Very tasty food. Service is attentive, but not professional...but a lady who does not know much about this matter... They have drinks on the menu but not in the bar... too bad. Food is very tasty and fresh...! Delicious. So applause for the chef. !

Niets wat we gekregen hadden was warm ( word tussen door nog een keer extra opgewarmd) slordige bediening die zeer slecht en onduidelijk Nederlands spreekt diverse muizen hollen door het restaurant te triest voor woorden één tafel bezet (door ons) gaan we dus nooit meer doen.

Wij kwamen hier vroeger veel nu halen wij er altijd en dat is altijd perfect en goede porties nu zijn wij er met kennissen wezen eten het et was wel voldoende alleen jammer ik had bamis ramas en dat wordt normaal op een bord gereserveerd nu voor twee personen een klein bakje bami en een schaal met de rest. doordat er met schalen werd gewerkt was het onduidelijk wat bij wat hoorde dat werd ook slecht uitgelegd kwaliteit was op zich goed een warm houd plaat was niet aan het eten was ook niet erg heet. Ik den k dat het komt dat het heel erg druk was waardoor ze het eigenlijk niet aan konden. Waren wel vriendelijk maar hebben een gezellige avond gehad

Peking eend en babi pangang, nasi rijst en gebakken banaan 50 euro is best wel veel geld. Zeker als je ziet wat je krijgt. De nasi zat in een halve bak en de peking eend was weinig met veel taugé. De gebakken banen waren geen bak banen maar niet rijpe " gewone " bananen die dan dus meelig worden. Wat een slecht eten.

In all these years, today so disappointed in Blue Lotus. Paid a lot of money for really bad food, sorry to say. Peking Duck was still good in terms of taste, but a tray of 1/3 duck, the rest bean sprouts (€20) and a small amount of sauce (which matched that bit of duck 😉) Babi Pangang like I've never had before with a slimy vaguely colored sauce (felt really gross in your mouth) Pisang goreng was not a plantain, just a hard banana with fried dough around it. And two small bowls of nasi and noodles. Blue Lotus do something about it, because this is not going well. The last time for us for a while.

We have eaten here a number of times. It is a very nice restaurant with a beautiful aquarium, attractive decor and always very neat. The food is delicious and made by Chinese chefs, definitely recommended. The service is also pleasant.

The food was tasty, the vegetables were fresh (not like some Chinese restaurants where you can taste that it has been on the fire for hours), I thought the price / quality was very good. Staff nice, we got a free large spring roll and prawn crackers. I ordered for 10 people and the food was more than enough, and everyone ate with taste.

Had something delivered once and was sick of it. Original review deleted even though I didn't say anything offensive there at all. Maybe the owner would be better off putting his energy into keeping the kitchen clean, instead of reading all the reviews?

Had a delicious meal in the Blue Lotus restaurant. The Aquarium also remains an attraction. The service was very friendly. We will definitely go back again. 😀 The only "downside" is the difference in takeaway dishes and the dishes you can eat on site. The Menu is essentially different from the takeaway menu. You can enjoy a number of dishes on site, but not as a takeaway meal and vice versa.

Don't know what's going on, ordered something twice now and just not tasty babi pangang tough meat sauce not tasty. Kolojuk tasty with sweet and sour sauce, not so kind of soy sauce just disgusting. No, I ate a lot with you and picked it up, but this was the last time, which is a shame

I went back there on my visit to Holland because of the fond memories of their delicious big size loempias when I lived close by in the 1980s. It did not disappoint !! 👏

The food was disappointing, not served hot enough. I think you're better off taking it off. Unfortunately, eating on site is not worth repeating in my opinion. Staff are friendly.

Picked up food because our 'own' Chinese is still on holiday. Ordering noodles Signapore would take more than 45 minutes, so I chose another dish with shrimps. Also turned out to be a 'special' dish: waiting time about 30 minutes... 🙄 Plus a combination dish. Shrimp dish was tasty, combination dish was very bad. So no more Blue Lotus for us...

Very bad! After we had made a choice from the menu, we were told that it could not be made, because there was one less cook. Ok, ordered something else, we got the wrong thing, rice and nasi were taken away and then the good stuff was brought, although less (1 IPV 2 satay) than indicated on the menu, but full price. Food is quite pricey in the restaurant compared to takeaway. Paid €5 for a small bowl of soup with the consistency of sauce, the taste was fine. The glass still had the lipstick from the previous visitor on it, this was indicated and the drink was taken off the bill to compensate. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Never again,!! It used to be really tasty, but clearly not anymore in recent years. Today took the cake: - very dry chicken satay, with a watery satay sauce that really doesn't taste like anything - babi-pangan consists of 3/4 sauce and atjar. The little pork is mud fat - the chicken fillet with kuan-bo sauce tastes more like chlorine or an extreme amount of flavor enhancers In short, every euro is one too many here... Increase the price and make something delicious again...! Maybe we will come back again someday... Never again....

Very long wait for the order. Not customer friendly, no compensation or understanding. Ultimately tasteless monthly menu. Babi pangang lots of sauce and sour, with some pieces of meat floating. It looked like it was left over from the restaurant and thrown into a container.

Had a nice meal with a large group. We had opted for fairly "standard" (NL standard) Chinese dishes, which tasted slightly different and were of better quality than the average "takeaway" Chinese. The quantities were not ridiculously large, just just right. No known post-chinese nausea, belching or 3 day aftertaste. Beautiful sea aquarium, friendly staff. Recommended.

Whether you pick up your food or sit down in the cozy restaurant, you will always receive friendly and good service, very friendly and hospitable staff. The quality of the food is simply great! If you pick up; you get enough food for 2 days and pay a normal price for it. The restaurant; good service, price/quality ratio is top, the quantity you get is more than sufficient. For enthusiasts there is also the option to sit next to a beautiful large aquarium. It is definitely recommended to have a nice meal here.

While the staff was somewhat friendly, it took them very long to notice me coming in and seat me, which they then did in a remote corner of the restaurant. The food was well prepared... yesterday; it tasted like it had been heated five times before and was as dry as a shoe. Prices are very reasonable, but the food was simply plain tasting and generally terrible. Would not recommend
