Blue Zone Espresso Best Coffee Zandvoort in Zandvoort Zuid

I've been there at least three or four times now. Initially, I was very impressed, but it diminished with each visit. This time was by far the worst. The service is absolute chaos. Even though there are only about twelve tables and plenty of staff milling around outside, they were either completely overwhelmed or ignorant. Both we and other guests at neighboring tables sat for at least 20-30 minutes in front of the dirty dishes of the previous guests. The menu said to order using the QR code if the staff were busy, but there was no QR code anywhere. In the end, I ordered inside. Meanwhile, the dirty dishes were still sitting on our table... Drinks and food came in batches, with the staff milling around outside in a disoriented manner, calling out who should have a latte macchiato, for example. I don't understand the system, especially since with so few tables, proper table service would probably save even more time. The food itself was not good and extremely overpriced. Scrambled eggs on toast were an untoasted, crunchy slice of white bread with dry, falling-off-the-crust scrambled eggs on top. No garnish or decoration, a sad sight. One would have even been grateful for a slice of tomato or cucumber. All for €9.50. My daughter had pancakes for €16. The portion itself would have been adequate, at least for a 12-year-old's appetite. However, the advertised fruit was just a few pieces, and the pancakes were burnt. Overall, very disappointing.

This is probably where you can find the best coffee (espresso, cappuccino, etc.) and the best smoothies in Zandvoort. 😋☕️

Just simle coffee, nothing special

I had high hopes of starting my first vacation morning with a good coffee at Blue Zone Café, something we’ve enjoyed in the past. Unfortunately, I was met with surprisingly rude service from a blonde-haired woman wearing glasses. When I asked about the difference between a small, medium, and large cappuccino, she rolled her eyes, sighed loudly, and replied with a dismissive “Allora”, offering no explanation. Stunned by her unprofessional and condescending behavior, I still went ahead and ordered two overpriced cappuccinos in medium and large. Now I know: there’s no real difference between the sizes—just the amount of milk. The espresso flavor was barely noticeable, completely overpowered. As a trained barista myself, I can confidently say what they served should not be called a cappuccino. Sadly, this kind of customer treatment and lack of quality makes it hard to recommend this place.

The coffee was good, but the food was meh. The avocado was tough,the mango was chewy and lame flavor, they forgot an order, (it was actually laying on the kitchen table) and food overall was too expensive.

Back three years later and now very disappointed. While the previous owners were very attentive and prioritized quality, both have declined significantly. It's now a mediocre coffee shop with an okay menu, poorly executed. It's remarkable that my "uitsmijter" with 3 eggs (€13.50) came with only one slice of bread, which wasn't toasted, as the menu promised. The large cappuccino came with a single shot, which was completely inadequate. The avocado bread (also untoasted) had unripe avocado. I paid €34.50 with two extra shots.

The cappuccino was delicious, the pancakes were okay. The service was very friendly.

A great breakfast spot, they serve really delicious sandwiches. You can sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle of the streets.

Delicious coffee, service could be better…. 05/2025 Previously under the previous owners, the great fun couple from New Zealand, this was a top place! Delicious coffee, and delicious food. It was taken over a few years ago and in the beginning it was still good but lately?! The sandwiches are really disappointing, nothing exciting. My sandwich at home is even tastier and more flavorful? Previously you had a sandwich with grilled vegetables on the menu was fresh and just delicious. Last time I ordered a sandwich was disappointing and an avocado toast that was hard with some tomato and spring onion. No, it was very disappointing, the price-quality ratio is really not right. Fortunately, the coffee has remained the same. Previously, I think you also got a small cookie with the coffee. It belongs somewhere in my opinion. My friend had a fresh mint tea and didn't get honey with it. Unfortunately, it's a shame that it has deteriorated so much. For a quick coffee date it's fine but definitely don't eat there too expensive and not great for what you get. Next time we'll skip you guys when we do a day at Zandvoort. Good luck!

If you want carelessly presented food, this is the place for you. The service in the café was really very friendly – ​​the staff are attentive and courteous. Unfortunately, the food couldn't live up to that. I had the avocado bread, which was disappointing: The avocado was hard and unripe, the bread untoasted and served without any spread. There were also no spices or creative garnishes at all, making the whole thing seem very carelessly presented – especially considering the rather high price. It's a shame, because with a little more attention to detail, this had potential. For me, the value for money here isn't right. €13.50 for this dry slice of bread.

I sat outside for 20 minutes and the waitresses brought and cleared away a lot of things at other tables. Then I ordered and paid inside. First came what I wanted to take with me, then my white flat with oat milk, tasty but quite small. Then I had to ask twice for my veggie toastie. The comment: "there's a lot going on" only counts to a limited extent for me. Because there were still tables available and guests who arrived after me got their food before me. Then perhaps it would be better to say to equalize: guests should order inside. And then serve them quickly and one after the other. Oh well: I would have also ordered using the QR code, which was pointed out, but I couldn't find it on the menu, online or on the table. There was no cutlery for the toastie, I also had to eat it with my fingers, but then I would have liked a napkin. I asked for the knife because I couldn't squeeze the toastie into the small dip bowl. That would be ok with fries.

We went to this cafe for breakfast today and were unfortunately disappointed. The food was mediocre and clearly too expensive. The toppings that you had to order separately were also overpriced. We also ordered two coffees - one came way too late. The pictures on the internet also look much better than what you actually get here. We cannot understand the positive reviews. Therefore we only give two stars.

We had two delicious breakfasts in the Blue Zone (yoghurt with granola and fruit and the overnight oats with fruit). The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was comfortable. We would love to come back when we are in Zandvoort again.

I ordered flat white and scrambled eggs with avocado. The service staff is very personable, but the food was without love (only bread and eggs). The recession photos 4-5 months ago looked much more appetizing, that was the reason we came here. Flat White was very sour, which I thought was a shame. Maybe we came at an inopportune moment

Went there for a little lunch with a toddler. Had a toastie, an avocado toast and a croissant - the food was freshly prepared, high quality and lovingly prepared, and definitely sufficient. To drink we had homemade iced tea, Babycino and a Dirty Chai Latte. All drinks were freshly prepared in barista style. The staff knows something about their craft. We would go to Blue Zone again and again!

Great place for a quick coffee. There are vegan options for milk. You can go here again. There are no cruelty-free options when it comes to pastries, but you don't have to eat them either. We waited out a rain shower here. Gladly again.

Rarely do I throw away coffee, but in this case I had no choice. As soon as they handed me my cappuccino, I knew I was in trouble. The cup was burning hot, indicated they scorched the coffee and the foam was off. And indeed I had been handed a piping hot acidy tasting coffee, for which I just paid 4.10 I understand the supply of speciality coffee places in Haarlem is limited. Yet if you’re going to carry that monicker, you can’t butcher a basic drink like this. The people who work in the place are very friendly and it has a cosy atmosphere but if you like coffee — just wait until you’re back in Amsterdam because at blue zone you’ll be burning your money for burned coffee

Nice coffee bar in the Haltestraat in Zandvoort. It is located next to Café Neuf. It is a cozy bar where you can enjoy a coffee and a pastry. The staff is very friendly and provides fast service! The quality of the coffee is not bitter. But nice and flexible. During the week they are open from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM and also on weekends.

The cappuccino was very strong and good. Bread with cheese was way too thick and the cheese melted in between. Very sophisticated. What felt like 20 people came into the store after me and the place was packed. A beautiful roar. Staff was very friendly.

The perfect start to a day of vacation. The atmosphere there was very relaxed and invited you to linger. Coffee and breakfast were very tasty - we went there twice in one week. The employees were also very friendly and had a certain calm about them. Despite many customers on our second visit, things weren't hectic at all.

I live in Zandvoort and waited for a good weather to have a breakfast with my family on the terrace in this place. But unfortunately I had terrible experience. We ordered food ( 2 coffee, juice ,2 fried eggs and pancakes ). We had to wait for an hour! Every time waiters did not know whose order it was and every single time they were just asking between the tables “is it yours, is it yours, did you ordered?” The waiters around 3 times tried to give us coffee or food we did not order and every time we asked where is our food. In the ends after an hour waiting brought our order and forgot one egg tost. Then they could not find the order to check, then they found order where was one egg because they forgot or misheard the order. Simply terrible experience with the service . Very very disappointing . Food was tasty but we did not feel it because of all mess and experience. Waiter was asking in the end is everything ok and I shared my experience but only what I heard back was “ ok” . Ok. That is not ok .

Not a pleasant atmosphere! If you don't ask yourself, you won't get a card and you'll be expected to order inside on your own?! We had to wait 45 minutes for drinks and food… The service was totally bad and disorganized, they had to ask us twice what we had ordered again🙄 It wasn't particularly tasty either.. except for the chocolate croissant.. that was ok.. Egg barely seasoned and avocado not at all, not even nicely prepared... What a shame! In addition, when the food was there, we were attacked by pigeons, a seagull and wasps! The animals were already used to always getting something there... totally annoying! We ate quickly and left straight away. It's a real shame because it was actually nice to sit there...

I'm sorry to give such a rating, but unfortunately it's not a place I know :( Scrambled eggs are bland, cooked like an omelette on a slice of bread. Not only was the breakfast so dry that it was impossible to eat, but I also had to ask for coffee because they forgot that I ordered it. The service doesn't help at all. Unfortunately, my favorite breakfast place is gone, I will look for a better offer. Under the previous owners, I would have given it 5 stars.

We looked it up on Google during our vacation in Zandvoort and went there for breakfast with great anticipation. We were even more disappointed. A snooty/arrogant waitress (not all of them!) takes my order and then messes it up - that's karma I guess. My wife and I were there and asked for the seat before we sat down (so it was clear to this waitress that I wasn't alone)... I ordered scrambled eggs twice on bread with avocado and bacon inside (you can't do it outside...). and two drinks. I should pay after my stay. The drinks and one of the meals came quickly, after 5 minutes. We thought the other portion would follow immediately. When 5 minutes later there was still nothing, I went in to ask. The same waitress admitted that a mistake had been made, but the lady turned around during the conversation and a (friendly) colleague took over. An absurdity...especially since it's not clear to me why only one meal was made, since we knew there were two of us and two coffees were brought...bizarre. The second meal for me came after about 15 minutes...my wife had already finished her portion. I actually lost my appetite, but I ate and paid anyway. Unfortunately, contrary to the many positive reviews, the food is nothing special...we get much better scrambled eggs at home (they were dry, not salted, placed on dry bread, bacon was fried for too long...the avocado was at least fresh). In my world - and I have to deal with customers myself when working - after a mistake like that (which can happen) you should do everything you can to make the guest happy and apologize... at least I, as the operator, would have the coffee off the bill taken.

Small but adorable place. Staff of 10! All of them, but the woman who served us was charming. The coffee was delicious, the girl's chocolate too. But what I can't describe in words is the smell of the pastries🤤. The croissant we ordered was spectacular. We have left delighted.

Bei Ankunft schenkte uns das Personal leider kaum Beachtung, was wir später auch bei anderen Gästen beobachten konnten und normalerweise anders gewohnt sind. Obwohl das Café relativ klein ist, dauerte es recht lange bis wir an unserem Tisch bedient wurden. Den Tisch wischten wir selbst mit übrig geblieben Servietten ab, was das Personal auch registrierte, sich aber nicht verantwortlich fühlte. Die Overnight Oat Bowl war absolut in Ordnung und schmeckte gut. Das Rührei auf Brot mit zusätzlicher Avocado war leider ein Reinfall. Viel zu viel Ei auf einer Scheibe Sauerteigbrot mit drei Scheiben einer Avocado (+3 EUR), welche lieblos neben dem Brot lag. Hier fehlte leider jeder Geschmack, es war eben nur Rührei auf Brot, ohne alles andere. Insgesamt ist dies schon eins der schöneren, moderneren Cafés in Zandvoort. Leider erfüllte es uns absolut nicht.

Ambiance and service was very great. Friendly, open, communicative. Unfortunately the food wasn't that good for the price. Unfortunately, the avocado on the toast was still hard and everything was a bit dry. The veggie toast was also very dry and just had too much cheese. Unfortunately overpriced and nothing special. The spices had collected at the bottom of the chai latte, which made it taste rather bitter and you ended up with your mouth full of powder. This is really expandable.

Unfortunately not as expected. The bread with egg and avocado is exactly what it is. Very bland and far too dry, no spices, nothing. The acai bowl was ok, unfortunately very sour and far too few toppings for the portion. The orange juice and the chai latte were good though.

We were looking for a cozy cafe for breakfast. The quality of the food and coffee was very good. They also had oat milk on offer! Top. We didn't really know how to order, the cafe was well staffed and the service seemed chaotic. We ordered at the bar. The cappuccino with oat milk came quickly but the rest only came upon request. Unfortunately the same thing with food. My breakfast didn't come, but my girlfriend's didn't come, even when I asked again. A pity Nevertheless, we were able to enjoy our stay in the sun.

The Blue Zone is the Zara of Germany. Sorry we live.

I'm a cafe hunter. In every city I visit, I look for a cafe with a unique local atmosphere. Yes, blue zone coffee is a concept invented in New Zealand, but in Zandvoort it's a cafe full of local people with their local dogs, surreal and spirited staff lady communicating simultaneously in Dutch, English, Italian and with hands. You can sit right on the sidewalk of the picturesque street, watching how cars, bicycles, dogs, cats, children from kindergarten, supply trucks, seagulls, pigeons and tourists mingle on a few meters wide road. The coffee is intense and very tasty... served in glass cups 😃. I also tasted sweet pastries with cardamom and sugar coating, after which I licked my sweet sticky fingers for a long time.

The staff is very friendly. The bowl was very tasty, the egg could have been seasoned a little more for our taste, but it was still delicious! There are enough tables inside and outside, but you can sit outside directly on the street. Could therefore mean a little more hustle and bustle. All in one a great café for breakfast.

For the second time, we had been sitting in this small cafe with only 4 tables for 20 minutes and no one from the staff across from us paid attention to us or responded to us. Ultimately we decided to leave.
