Good place for family but especially for the children

A truly fantastic place for (young) children! They can play safely and supervised in a large space with fun play equipment. My son had a blast for over two hours! The food is great, the coffee is fantastic! It's also reasonably priced for a fun morning or afternoon where your child(ren) can play and their parents can enjoy a peaceful meal! I definitely recommend going! 🥰

Lots of young families, chill vibe. Good coffees with water glasses. Sun. Much enjoyed!

The kids really liked this place, lots of opportunity to run off some energy. We adults liked it as well, we could sit with a coffee watching the kids run off some energy. What a perfect combination!

Op 29 maart bracht ik samen met mijn zoontje een bezoek, iets wat we vaker deden en waar we altijd van genoten. Helaas was deze keer een flinke tegenvaller. Bij binnenkomst viel me direct op dat er een lege tafel bij het raam was, zonder bordje “gereserveerd”, en met zicht op het speelhoekje — ideaal voor ons. Toch werden we door de medewerker naar een andere tafel gestuurd, aan de linkerkant, waar wél een “gereserveerd”-bordje op stond en die geen zicht had op het speelgedeelte. Toen ik aangaf liever bij het raam te zitten zodat ik mijn zoontje in het oog kon houden, werd gezegd dat die tafel niet schoon was. Ik gaf aan dat dat geen probleem was en dat ik wel wilde wachten tot het schoongemaakt was. Plotseling was de tafel volgens haar toch “gereserveerd”, terwijl er bij aankomst geen bordje stond. Toen ik haar hier op wees, werd ik bot afgewimpeld: “Nee, die tafel krijg je niet.” En toen ik aangaf dat ik dan maar zou vertrekken, kreeg ik als antwoord: “Ja, dan niet.” Ik kom hier al jaren en heb nog nooit zo’n ongastvrije houding meegemaakt. Erg jammer, want mijn zoontje vond het er altijd fijn. Maar na deze ervaring weet ik zeker dat ik niet meer terugkom.

Liever hete koffie in kopjes met oortjes. Ontbijt was goed (brood naar mijn smaak) en de speelplek ook voor onze 2.5 jaar oude kleinzoon. Het ziet er mooi en licht uit. Ik ken de plek via mn schoondochter, die er ook is geweest. Verder grotendeels woke, bakfiets en literair cafe publiek.

Amazing!!! The kids are is big, fun and safe. We went with a 1 & 3 year old and it was perfect. The service was also spectacular, the staff is attentive, and just plain kind. The food was simple but delicious. We were visiting but if ever back in The Hague definetly coming back…

Great place for kids, but a bit pricey

Prices too high, slow service, few challenging playing facilities.

We are going to this place now since 2021 and we and our kids still love it 🥰 The atmosphere is nice, the staff is friendly. It is worth to be mentioned that is a non-profit group taking care of the cafe

Great place for big and small babies ☺️

The play area is quite sad, there are train tracks with no train and other useless areas. Our 3-year old was bored very soon, which is unfortunate as you also have to pay the fee for playing - 3,5 euro per child. Food is unremarkable for the high price, cutlery is not sharp enough to cut the sourdough bread with, so sandwiches are a bit of a struggle. Staff is not paying attention until it’s time to clean the table after you - then they magically appear and start taking things from under your nose while you are dressing. Very weird impression…

Really nice atmophere, our child loved there! The food was also nice. Shame we can't say the same about the juices! Would be better if they make them fresh, at least the orange juice! I was surprised, specifically in such a place where they promote "healthy" food.

Nice atmosphere, a very nice spacious indoor playground and the food and coffee are delicious! And the staff is welcoming and cooperative!

I can’t praise this place enough. Almost 2 years ago I relocated to the Netherlands from Scotland. This place has the most welcoming &kind staff ever (they always remember us) lovely atmosphere and great food…it definitely made The Hague starting to feel more like home for me&my 2 boys. Bedankt De Boombutten, je hebt ons hart! 🌳

Incredibly cool place to quietly enjoy your coffee with an active toddler. In short, nice entrance, spacious seating, beautiful play area, clean toilets, overview of the play area from the table, nice atmosphere, nice service, tasty coffee and food. The only point for improvement would be that the service visits the tables more often, we now had to order at the bar because no one came, and perhaps an extra sign above the entrance to the play area that shoes are not allowed, we saw quite a few children with shoes playing. All in all, highly recommended and one we will definitely return to!

Well spacious, but with sufficient view of the playground where the children play. This way you can keep an eye on your little one. The staff are hospitable and are nice to the children. For the rest, good coffee, beans from friedhats, delicious cake and plenty of goodies. Remember that you have to pay for the play corner, I would prefer to see it differently, but I understand the concept. We will definitely come back here again.

This is a fabulous place for little kids, especially on a cold or rainy day. The only negative for me is that the food is really quite expensive and basic for what it is. €9 for a toastie that was tasty, but had nothing else on the plate, just two slices of bread with filling. A little bit of fruit or vegetables…even a few chips on the side, would elevate the value.

Dit was toch wel even een tegenvaller. De site was al wat karig in de informatie maar het eten was dat helaas ook. 6 euro voor één inimini tosti (en dan bedoel ik écht klein; zelfs m’n 5 jarige had nog honger toen we thuiskwamen) en bijna 5 euro voor een (wel groot) glas aanmaaklimonade…het mag dan allemaal biologisch zijn maar dat zagen we niet aankomen. Het was lekker, maar qua hoeveelheid zeker het geld niet waard. Het speelgedeelte is leuk, maar niet erg groot en daar betaal je dan ook nog los voor (3,50 per kind) terwijl je daar ook gewoon zit te lunchen…heel vreemd. Het is een leuk concept maar vooral vanwege de prijzen wordt het, ook op verzoek van m’n 5 jarige, toch maar weer schreeuwpaleis monkeytown.

Nice place to go with small children. You can reserve two hours from morning to afternoon, which is more than enough. Children can play, eat and drink, non-children can eat, drink and have a drink... Recommended...

Turned up without a reservation as I'd just stumbled across it as an option for kid friendly dining. The host was very helpful and accommodated us well: first me at the bar whilst my girl played and then at a table when there was a gap in the reservations. The space was packed around l nchtime so highly recommend booking ahead of time on the weekends (I'm not sure of during the week). There's a large room dedicated as a kid's play space with a multi sectioned tree house so lots of space for the kids teeming everywhere. The bathrooms were clean and our meals were delivered promptly once we got the table seating. If you're in the mood to shop they also have a selection of wines and the like, kids apparel and Tshirts for the fans. Definitely worth a visit or three with your kids play groups and just the family.

Perfect place to go with kids; children have fun in the 'tree houses' while as an adult you can order good coffee and tasty dishes for breakfast and brunch/lunch.

The playground is absolutely lovely.

Heel leuke mensen, lekker biologisch eten en speelplek voor kinderen. Ik en een vriend zijn laatst komen eten voor ome steef zijn bijzondere soto. Het was een heerlijke soep. Wel moesten we 2 uur wachten op het eten. Lekker bijzonder bier. Ook is het heel leuk ingericht.

Prijs kwaliteit verhouding maakt het wat duur. De boomhut is gaaf, maar terugkomen . . Nee.

Perfekt für Eltern mit Kindern, weil es einen riesigen Spielbereich gibt, der etwas abgetrennt vom Café ist. Das Essen und Kaffee war sehr lecker.

Super leuke plek voor zowel de kids als volwassenen. Tevens kun je er lekker eten en drinken.

Heerlijk eten en drinken. Super leuk speel gelegenheid voor kinderen tot ongeveer 6 jaar. Er zit een glazen wand tussen het eet / speel gedeelte waardoor je redelijk rustig kan zitten. Het personeel is super vriendelijk.

Een fantastisch concept om met jonge kinderen heen te gaan. Leuke speelruimte met verschillende speeltoestellen (groot klimhuis) en tegelijk kun je als ouders lekker eten/drinken. Daarnaast kun je gratis water tappen en fruit pakken. Reserveren is verstandig. Ze hebben tevens een deal voor bezoekers die vaker komen. Je koopt dan een soort abonnement, waarna je korting krijgt op eten / drinken. Entree is gratis.

De beste plek in Den Haag om met jonge kinderen naar toe te gaan. De kinderen spelen en jij kan genieten van een heerlijke kop koffie of een biertje in de middag.

Heerlijke plek voor ontbijt. Prima gegeten en mijn dochter kon lekker spelen. Je moet wel van kinderen houden, want die zijn er erg veel.

De leukste binnen speelplek van Den Haag! Met goede koffie en heerlijk eten. Al het personeel heeft hart voor de zaak en veel geduld met alle rondrennende kindjes. Tip: reserveer van te voren zodat je zeker weet dat je een plekje hebt.

Mega fijne plek in Den Haag. Ideaal voor gezinnen met jonge kinderen. Een gedeelte om te ontbijten/lunchen met een koffie en een gedeelte voor kinderen om te klauteren en rond te rennen. Lekker eten! Heel smaakvol! Goeie koffie. Reserveer zodat je zeker bent van een plekje. Aanrader!

Very nice and cozy place for parents with little kids. A very nice playing room for kids. Friendly staff and you can have membership if you want to go often. We liked it very much.

De Boomhuttenclub provides the perfect spot for young kids and their parents or grandparents. Food's nice, local and organic, but the main appeal is the indoor treehouse playground. Trust me, you deserve a nice cup of Coffee while you keep half an eye out for your kid, along with the other parents.

You should reserve, but don’t have to. They have a bizarre membership structure which is never fully explained anywhere. I ordered coffee and snacks (e.g. croissant) but was not told that I had to pay an additional entrance fee until after the fact. My son was mainly interested in the Brio train set and was perhaps a bit small to go on the large play set that the older kids were using so I perhaps wouldn’t take him back until he is 5. I would potentially consider a membership for the winter once he reaches this age as it’s always good to have an indoor place to go to during the winter. They need to improve their service though and make the membership and reservation structures more transparent.

Este comedor es uno de los lugares raros en La Haya que también ofrece una opción para jugar para niños pequeños. El comedor en sí está muy bien decorado, es amplio y luminoso. Ofrece una buena variedad de opciones de alimentos de calidad para el brunch, el almuerzo y / o la hora del té. El personal es amigable. El parque infantil cubierto es ideal para niños pequeños y niños de 1 a 5 años. No hay nada previsto para los bebés. No hay un área reservada para que los bebés jueguen mientras los padres comen. Esta bien puede ser una oportunidad perdida. Mientras los niños pequeños juegan en el área de juegos interior, ves a las mamás almorzando con sus bebés en su regazo en el comedor. Pero entonces de nuevo. . Los padres con niños pequeños no tienen muchas otras opciones de almuerzo en La Haya. La única alternativa real sería un comedor con opción de parque infantil ubicado en el sur de La Haya (restaurante PEX), pero esto está bastante lejos del centro de la ciudad. O grandes salas de juegos interiores (líder del mercado Monkeytown). . Esos lugares ofrecen comida poco saludable y de baja calidad, y una atmósfera loca con padres gritando fuera de control y niños hiper corriendo. Todos juntos. . Estamos muy contentos de tener el boomhuttenclub:).
