Borski in Wijk 01 Overveen

We ate at restaurant Borski in Overveen. What immediately stands out: it's a beautiful place. The location is fantastic, the terrace is lovely, the bar looks inviting, and the atmosphere is really good. The staff was also friendly and attentive, and the drinks were tasty. In short, the first impression was promising. But unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. And that's what you ultimately come for. Lobster croquettes; not homemade. Not very exciting, and with regular mayonnaise, not necessarily a good addition either. The lobster bisque; it was clearly not homemade – and you can taste it. It also contained crayfish, which has nothing to do with a good lobster bisque (freshwater vs. saltwater, the difference is significant). The rouille on top wasn't freshly made either. That's just a shame. The sea bass was served with a bouillabaisse sauce, but it turned out to be exactly the same as the lobster bisque – so again, not homemade. The steak tartare was fine, but it also felt like it was pre-made. The fries and mayonnaise, on the other hand, were delicious. And then there was the limoncello tiramisu; definitely not homemade. And not even good. I didn't taste any limoncello or tiramisu. Such a shame! For a restaurant with such high prices, you really should expect more. It doesn't feel fair to charge such high prices for food that isn't fresh or artisanally prepared. It's a shame, because the restaurant has everything going for it—atmosphere, location, service—except the most important thing: good food. Hopefully, they'll change something about that, because the potential is definitely there.

Very atmospheric, fantastic food, good service and on request you can reserve a separate room upstairs for several people (up steep stairs, so you must be able-bodied). The recipe for a great evening with friends or family.

A place with a lot of attention to detail and a perfect crème brûlée

Vanmiddag vlak na opening met een goede vriend binnengelopen, we waren de eerste en het was toevallig ook de eerste dag van de nieuwe kaart. Het sharing concept is grotendeels losgelaten, maar daarentegen bevat de kaart en verzameling mooie gerechten. We hebben totaal 4 gerechten gekozen en stuk voor stuk uitstekend. Dat gecombineerd met een mooie fles op basis van trebbiano druiven heeft geresulteerd in een super ervaring. Een niet te vergeten de zeer attente bediening. Jullie zien ons snel weer terug

Very tasty food and nice atmosphere in the restaurant

What a wonderful place to start the weekend. Nice French quiet music at a pleasant sound level, staff has a nice mix between polite and friendly and a delicious meal in the bistro. Also tasty cocktails and good wine. Upstairs the restaurant has a completely different atmosphere with a number of attractive rooms to eat in. We will definitely come back!

Bij escargots behoort (stok)brood; werd niet geserveerd. hiernaar gevraagd; kwam eindelijk nadat de escargots inmiddels waren "genuttigd"; jammer. Kreeg wel de rekening voor de schamele en te late 6 dunne plakjes stokbrood met de omschrijving: 1 EXTRA brood...............geen reden om terug te komen

Very nice Bistro like place with tasty food, great drinks, very friendly service and a perfect atmosphere. We hat the burrata, snails, cheese, fries, ravioli and affogato. Don‘t get fooled by the first impression right next to the street. Look around the corner and enjoy!

Nice ambience. Music, waiters. Lots of people meeting up after work, having a bite to eat and a drink. The wine was good, the waiter was nice, the food was disappointing. 4 scampis in hot oil for €13. Tasted like nothing. It didn't convince me and I know French bistro cuisine differently.

Tekort aan goed personeel was hier overduidelijk. Een vriendelijk meisje wat nog geen bord of drankje goed kan uitserveren. Daarnaast gerechten zoals steak tartare en carpaccio die uren in koeling hebben gestaan. En als afluister €9 voor glas chardonnay en €15 voor glas Valpolicella die beide niet hoogstaand zijn. Ambiance is wel leuk en personeel zeer vriendelijk en een van de twee was ook kundig. Al met al een teleurstellende ervaring

Great experience in this lovingly run restaurant. Very nice 50's atmosphere, beautiful decoration, nice smooth service and above all delicious food. Most tables are on the 1st floor, keep that in mind. The prices are great and the quality is really good. So good that we forgive them that not all the cutlery was properly polished.

We have lived in the area for years but have never eaten here before. Big surprise! Delicious French bistro dishes with an Italian twist. Excellent onion soup, prawns in garlic perfect, beautiful vegetable dish with eggplant and zucchini in tomato sauce with parmesan. Confit de canard delicious, artichoke carpaccio top. Good wine list, delicious Italian Sauvignon Blanc. Pleasant attentive and friendly service. Would love to come back here!

Erg leuk ontvangen door de bediening erg gastvrij en spontaan. Een leuk concept met kleinere gerechters (hoeveelheid voorgerecht) alles was echt goed op smaak.

Gezellig, goede service met aandacht voor de gasten

Op weg naar het strand, zagen we het terras van Borski en besloten hier te lunchen. Parkeren maximaal 1 uur in de doorgaande straat waar wij stonden. Een zeer verrassende kaart met wat kleine gerechten zoals de bediening uitlegde. Dat maakte dat we met ons tweeën 3 gerechtjes kozen. Ik had de Saint Marcellin (indoopkaasje) samen hadden we pane Italiano en mijn partner een gerecht met groene asperges. Heerlijk, glaasje wijn (verdeggio) erbij en een heerlijk zonnetje. Restaurant binnen is erg bescheiden, maar je maakt een mooie tijdreis naar 1920.

Echt heerlijk gegeten! Zeker om nog eens te komen, een echte aanrader.

The service is good, the staff are very nice and friendly. The atmosphere is lovely. The food is mediocre and quite little. Don’t go here if u go for food. It’s great for a drink or a snack or just a day out without food

Heerlijk gegeten en de bediening was top.

The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is warm and attentive, the Caesar salad and various small plates are delicious, and the bartender makes a fantastic Aperol spritz. Borski is a great place to rest during a bike ride, and it is definitely worth the quick trip by train from Zandvoort or Haarlem.

Small portions and large beer is 0.25ml. Other than that a great place.

Zojuist hier geluncht. Heerlijk vers eten en wat een ontzettende vriendelijke bediening - kreeg zelfs een korte tour door het sfeervol ingerichte restaurant. Aanrader en niet over te slaan in Overveen!

De sfeer was okay. De bediening was goed. De kwaliteit van het eten was zelfs bijzonder goed. De porties zijn klein, maar daar word je voor gewaarschuwd; het is een 'concept' (vergelijkbaar met tapas). Voor de kleine porties zijn de prijzen wat aan de forse kant, maar de gerechten zijn verzorgd en smaakvol. Al met al zal ik er niet wekelijks terugkeren, maar het is zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Heerlijk gegeten, echt verzorgd Frans bistro-eten. Leuk dat de porties kleiner en goedkoper zijn zodat je meer verschillende dingen kunt proberen. De bediening was vriendelijk, kalm en prettig. Er is veel oog voor detail, dat merk je aan alles, van de glazen en afwerking van de toog tot aan de toiletten aan toe. De fraaie art deco inrichting is erg sfeervol en mooi verlicht, en daarmee geschikt voor bijv. een date of intiem diner. Boven zijn nog ruimten voor wat grotere groepen. Je kunt ook aan de bar zitten om een goeie cocktail te drinken en ‘s zomers is er terras met veel zon. Ik kom heel graag nog eens terug.
