Had a drink at De Berk in the evening. The gratinated Camembert was very tasty. The service was top-notch again, as usual! We come here regularly, but overall it just remains good.

Beautifully situated in the woods by a lovely lake, a super nice brasserie with a beautiful view. As soon as you walk in, you get a kind of living room feeling, but also a holiday feeling. I personally find the ambiance super beautiful, and the staff is also friendly and hospitable; the service is fast, you want for nothing. I was able to enjoy a cup of coffee and apple pie at 3:00 PM without a reservation; despite the crowds, a nice spot was shown to me, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I genuinely saw a beautiful menu and will definitely come back for dinner. But the service, hospitality, delicious coffee with cake, and location—yes, definitely worth 5 stars.

After playing, the children also enjoyed a delicious meal from the kids' menu. Tasty food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a child-friendly environment. Definitely recommended for families!

Unfortunately, one star is still too much for restaurant De Berk. What a disappointment! The lunch special, which we waited 1.5 hours for, was downright unappetizing (dried-out bread, soup like ditch water). The ‘dark cubicle’ we were seated in was also downright uninviting, with dirty chairs (sitting outside was not possible according to the staff). What a shame! Hopefully, this experience was just a one-off.

A super cozy backstreet brasserie by the old lake, featuring some sand dunes and a playground for children. Truly ideal if you go there with your kids, and a great area for a walk after dinner. The food was top-notch! Diverse choices on the menu, from meat to vegan. The location was nicely laid out, both indoors and outdoors; sufficient privacy but still a cozy atmosphere. A tip if you want to visit this place on a beautiful sunny day: call ahead to check if there is enough seating, because the place fills up quickly and it can go pretty fast. Otherwise, I would say: enjoy!

The food is actually quite good and the atmosphere is very cozy. Unfortunately, the service leaves something to be desired. The older lady behind the counter was very unfriendly, which did not create a pleasant first impression. Additionally, the staff frequently comes to ask if you want to order anything else, which I find annoying. You also get the feeling that it is not appreciated if you only want to order a drink, even though, as far as I am concerned, that should simply be possible.

Lovely spot, the terrace is beautiful and the view is great too! We dropped by spontaneously for a cup of coffee; apparently everything was reserved, so walk-ins are difficult. We did get a reserved spot (which is only logical if the reservation is made much later, you would think). Unfortunately, the receptionist was a real mess; she was incredibly grumpy, couldn't manage a hello or a smile, and apparently we were supposed to sense her walking us, because she suddenly disappeared without saying anything and came walking back with a huge grumpy attitude as to why we weren't following her. Such an experience makes such a nice-looking place look quite ugly. Next time I would ask for an extra shot of cappuccino, otherwise you mainly get milk. Compliments to the rest of the staff, because they were super cheerful and helpful! That made up for it!

Good restaurant that allows dogs. If you call ahead, you get a good spot where the dogs can lie comfortably with you without bothering others. The food is good and the service is welcoming. Afterwards, you can enjoy a lovely walk around the artificial pond and in the woods.

To our great surprise, we were refused entry at the door, even though the establishment was clearly open, there was ample seating inside, and there was no private party or event taking place.

A truly terrible experience. We arrived at 21:35 and were immediately told that we were no longer allowed inside because they were about to close. Even though the website clearly states that they don't close until 23:30. Moreover, it was completely empty, so that explanation didn't feel fair to us. What bothered me the most was how we were looked at immediately. From the very first moment, we didn't feel welcome and were stared at in an unpleasant way. That gave us the feeling that we were being judged based on our appearance. Perhaps that wasn't the intention, but that is how it came across. We went there with great respect and expect the same in return. Unfortunately, that was not the case at all. A truly disappointing experience, and for us, the first and the last time.

A very nice brasserie, good atmosphere, friendly staff and food at an affordable price.

Came here at 22:00 for ONLY some drinks. Got told the place is completely full despite many open tables on the terrace and absolutely no one inside of the restaurant. I could have understood if it was earlier in the afternoon, but at this time, I doubt people still come with reservations. As someone who have worked many years in hospitality, either they were lazy and didn’t want to work, or they didn’t like the way we looked

The food was otherwise fine, good value for money. The service was borderline bad. The drinks took a long time, with incorrect and forgotten drinks. The food took much longer; when it was finally brought, they forgot one dish. Eventually it was brought, but it was not the correct dish. At the end, I ordered a bottle of sparkling water which was brought without a glass; I never saw the glass again. In summary, not recommended unless you want to spend 2 hours on lunch.

We were here on Sunday, June 21, to celebrate my little granddaughter's birthday. We arrived at 6:00 PM. At 9:00 PM (much too late), we left with two angry and upset children because, after waiting, asking, waiting, and asking again for more than an hour, they still hadn't received a nice ice cream. An ice cream; how difficult can it be? We are not coming back.

Fast service and enjoyed a delicious meal by the water.

The atmosphere is beautiful and lovely, but if there are problems, you get brushed off. We had ordered a number of dishes for the wedding; some had fish and chips, but all of these left untouched because it was truly inedible—absolutely no taste, paid a lot for it—and when you point this out, the kitchen says "it should be good." If 8 people leave it untouched, it is NOT good; it's easily a "butcher judging his own meat." We were not helped with this, and all sorts of excuses were made up about what might have caused this, including the heat outside, the fan being on, etc., anything but the fact that the dish was simply bad. 2 guests had no food, and it finally arrived after an extra hour, after asking twice for extra, and they even indicated that these were extra because, according to them, they had delivered everything... not true. And they keep insisting that 2 people ate 2 burgers; what do they think? Even no one can finish that. If you ask for the manager, they even get angry. The birch tree has now ensured that 30 people won't go there anymore due to the bad experience. The last time for me 🫡

We had made a reservation for later in the evening; upon arrival, we were told that the last round would be at 21:45. For the Saturday after the Netherlands World Cup. We received the last round of drinks around 21:45. Two minutes later, the lady came with the bill asking if we wanted to pay in advance. We felt incredibly rushed to leave, even though it is supposed to be open until 23:30 according to the opening hours. Furthermore, you get the draft beer in a wine glass??!!

Delicious menu for lunch. Friendly staff. However, the number of people can be a bit noisy. It is therefore better to sit outside in good weather.

It is a real shame that there are so many dogs inside.. I don't like the combination of tasty food and a wet dog.. for this reason, I am now looking for other locations to celebrate something.. if I want to eat among the dogs, I'll just bring my sandwich to a shelter.

We had lunch here with a party of 8 people. Nicely situated in the woods and by a lake. The food was excellent, generous portions, and very reasonably priced. And what delicious desserts! You can summon service using a button on the table; it works well. Unfortunately, the full drink order didn't always arrive. All in all, highly recommended.

What an uncivilized place this is. We just walked in. Okay, so what, not reserved. But the lady was already a receptionist with an attitude. And we just asked if we could sit somewhere. "Yes, you can sit over there." So we went to sit in the scorching sun without a parasol. Because we always come here with friends. We saw people leaving. I went to politely ask if we could change seats. Immediately got a snap: NO, it's reserved. Okay, no problem. Then people sat down who hadn't reserved. Okay, ma'am and sir, you can sit here until a quarter to six. Well, I grabbed my bag and said, stick your drink in...

The opening days on Google are incorrect. There were many people standing in front of a closed door on Tuesday.

I am disappointed for the first time in years. I made a phone call asking if I could make a reservation. I was told that everything was booked but that I could definitely come by and a spot would surely become available. After driving for almost an hour, we arrived and were told that they had no space, and that there was also a sign saying there was no more room. So we said okay, then we'll wait in the hope that something becomes available. She came back 5 minutes later with the message that they were no longer allowed to accept anyone within fifteen minutes.😵‍💫 They certainly couldn't have said that an hour earlier just to prevent people from running out of gas for nothing and wasting 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back in 29 degrees while super hungry and thirsty!

Great restaurant in a beautiful location...

It is such a terrible shame. We really enjoyed coming here. When making reservations by phone, we always ask if the dogs are allowed to come along, and the answer was the usual "of course, dogs are welcome here." Until we went inside (to the front terrace). There, we heard the complete opposite from the man on the terrace. At that point, we picked up the dogs and left. So, we won't be coming back here either.

Delicious food in a great atmosphere

We’ve been here a few times, but unfortunately, we won't be returning anytime soon. Plus points: dog-friendly, beautiful surroundings, and friendly staff. The food was very disappointing the last time. The tea and coffee were lukewarm/cold. Even the croquette with the lunch was cold on the inside. The toilets were also filthy. There was no soap available, and a staff member went back to work immediately after using the toilet. Additionally, the tap in the ladies' restroom only works for a few seconds, making handwashing barely possible. That doesn't feel hygienic, especially so close to the kitchen. It's a shame, because the location has potential, but we wouldn't recommend this place anymore.

Beautiful space to eat or drink something good.

Had lunch today for the first time in a long time. Had the Indonesian chicken skewers; small portions. Bread wasn't served at first, even though I asked for bread or fries when taking the order. It was delivered later, but it wasn't fresh. You can definitely tell that a different supplier is delivering the items. Very disappointing; De Berk used to be much better.

Had delicious coffee and cake. Atmospheric music, but a bit cramped inside.

Nice spot by a swimming/play lake. In the woods, so great for walking. Lunch was well organized. Good flavors. Do be careful with allergies; sometimes ingredients are added to dishes that are not listed on the menu (for example, onions in my case). This is taken into account well, but definitely mention it. We had a tasty meal; everything looked good. If you can no longer reserve online, you can always try calling. With the nice weather, more tables outside on the terrace will likely be occupied.

You can eat well here, always tasty. When it's busy, you do notice that it can take a bit longer.

It's about time they updated the menu! The food is still good, but you can tell they apparently have new staff, because waiting over 40 minutes for your food (after the waiter, speaking at machine-gun speed, came very quickly and didn't come once to ask if we knew yet) is unworthy of De Berk. Unfortunately, for the time being, we're going somewhere else to get good service, because De Berk is no more (now) than it used to be ‼️

Great place in a beautiful location. The food is also delicious and there is plenty of choice. However, we experienced a disappointment today. We called spontaneously to see if there was a spot, and there was. Upon arrival, we were shown to a cozy corner. It took 10 minutes before our first order (drinks) was taken. We ordered tea. After a few minutes, we received the bowls of water, but no tea. After waiting another ten minutes, we decided not to order any more food and to leave. We reported this at the cashier, and they wanted us to pay 6 euros. But we had no intention of doing that. Unfortunately, the tea was incomplete; she apparently consulted with her supervisor first, and we were allowed to proceed. It is a real shame because we have eaten here several times, and the food, the atmosphere, and the location are amazing. We had another reservation which we cancelled immediately afterwards. But we will definitely be back and hope that the experience will be like it used to be; it probably just wasn't our day today.

Sent away in a semi-panic attack because we're NOT supposed to walk in ourselves and we're NOT supposed to sit down anywhere, while we're stared at sheepishly at the entrance without even a single hello, welcome, or anything else. What a level. Instantly reversed.

Super cute winter cottage on the terrace where we had such a cozy and delicious meal. We're totally fans!

I was there on a Sunday afternoon/evening and had a spot outside (next time I'd prefer an open spot, as it was a bit of a hidden corner in my opinion 🤣). Service is partly via a device on your table where you can check service and your bill. I ordered a Bosburger Classic without bacon, as I had someone with me who can't eat pork, and two Espetada Chicken burgers. The Bosburger arrived with a small blemish, so it had to be returned. The waiter told me it was a new burger and that they hadn't removed it from the "old" burger. 😊 The quality of the food was generally okay. The Berk is also nicely located near the water of the Bemmelenberg.

I've been here for lunch and dinner now, and both times the food was delicious. The restaurant has a charming atmosphere and the surroundings are beautiful. The service is excellent. In short, I'll definitely be back.

Thanks to the team at De Berk for making my partner's birthday celebration unforgettable. A very nice gift from the house upon arrival and a delicious meal in a lovely atmosphere.

We had a delicious meal this evening, and everything went smoothly. Drinks were on time, food was on time, and we were asked if everything was okay at the right time. I have to admit, I've had a different experience at De Berk before, but this time everything was fine. One small issue: the soup was served without a spoon, which we had to get ourselves. But the quality of the soup was so good that we quickly forgot about it.

Booked with family for Christmas Day, but got a spot in an outdoor conservatory in the cold. Only when we arrived were a few heaters turned on. Far too cold, especially for my in-laws, so we decided to leave, as having to wear winter coats and eat with freezing feet is not ideal. Unfortunately, the arrangements were terribly poor.

After years of perfect food, I chose fish and chips this time. The fish was overcooked. The calimaris were tough. The lettuce underneath was soggy and lukewarm. It's a shame that this time was a less than perfect experience. Come on, it can be better, you've proven that. This is meant positively and don't be discouraged, but do something about it.

We've been coming here for several years. It's always had a great atmosphere. But the food quality has really improved recently. We love coming here!

The two of us enjoyed a lovely dinner at De Berk. Once we were shown to our table, we sat for over 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drinks order. Drinks arrived quickly, but we were right on the edge of the entrance. The service was friendly, but everything was expensive and took a very long time. Once we received our appetizer, they arrived a few seconds later with our main course, which they then took back to the kitchen. There was a large group eating there who were a bit noisy, and a table next to us got into a fight with them. The food was fine, but the service was terrible. We won't be going back.
