Nice playground with a café/restaurant/pancake house. Highly recommended for a snack or drink after the walk, especially with kids!

Very disappointed with the “boerenpannenkoek& kaas” I ordered. I can’t believe they just put frozen green beans, carrots, corns mix inside pannenkoek! Not professional compared with the other Dutch pancake restaurants I visited. Hope can be improved!

I come here very regularly; it's a beautiful place, and the playground is great for the kids. The pancakes are also delicious. I had a grilled cheese sandwich once, but it wasn't as good. The service is inconsistent.

We used to eat pancakes here often with my grandparents and the kids. It's a lovely spot in the woods with a playground. Now we're back with a family and our grown teenagers, but unfortunately, the food was terrible. The satay was okay, the schnitzel was small, but the burgers were awful, like a flat disc of processed meat. My plate went back to the kitchen full; a surprised waitress, but unfortunately, no one came to apologize or offer me a coffee on the house. Such a shame for this lovely spot!

A century-old establishment that's sclerotic in every way. Gluten-free crepes are available, but with a rubbery batter drenched in bacon fat!

Very bad food. Not really friendly

What a great playground for children! I haven't been inside, only on the terrace. There is a baby swing for the little ones and plenty of other fun to play with. Fast service. Also very nice is that they sell local products. I was very satisfied!

Last time we were here, people smoked everywhere on the terrace, we stopped coming for a while, but not anymore. But sometimes people have to wait so long to get inside, and there are empty tables outside, inside. We got in early, so we don't have to line up, but I feel so sorry for those with kids and have to wait for 20 minutes to get in, other than that everything else were great. Good food, nice atmosphere, friendly staffs.

Beautiful summer day, first walk and then sit with the children at 't Appeltje for a snack and drink. Food excellent price quality. Fast operation, nice system with QR (not necessary). Excellent playground with fence around it. Beautiful surroundings. Top spot.

Fun for the children to play, there is something for every child, swing, climbing and sliding on the slide, jumping on the trampoline, cable car.

Super expensive for way too little food

Good afternoon, I would like to file a complaint about the dangerous dismount on your terrace. After a fun afternoon with a photo shoot in the forest as a whole family, we went for something to eat and drink on your terrace afterwards. We were having a drink and my wife went for a walk with her brother's baby because he needed to fall asleep. Suddenly we heard a loud thud and there she was lying on the street with the baby. Fell over the step onto the terrace. The baby hit his head very hard on the street and they are now at the emergency room in the hospital. My wife's leg had a serious abrasion. The entire family packed up and went home. End of nice afternoon. I would like to call on you to good entrepreneurship. I estimate that enough money is being made to tackle the paving and remove the step. There were four others in our family who had a near fall/sprained ankle with the same step. I won't be surprised if you get the first complaint about this. Also sent this by email but no response after a week. If you go here, be careful.

Nice place to have a cup of coffee after a walk in the woods while the children play. You can also have a (reasonably) good lunch there.

Very nice place, really an old-fashioned restaurant in a positive sense! With a nice enclosed playground. Unfortunately, they don't have lactose or cow's milk free pancakes, which is a real shame if you have an allergy! So if you are allergic to something, look for another restaurant.

Upon entering we were not received very hospitably, but we did not want to judge immediately. Drinks and drinks were absorbed quite quickly, but the food took quite a long time. Also, one of us only had our food 7 minutes later than the rest. One of the children thanked the hostess for putting down her drink, but she didn't even smile. This involved a dark-haired lady who wore a bun and had slightly tanned skin. Since we had ordered two children's pancakes, we would receive two coins for a present. Unfortunately, we had to go back for this after paying, because these were not given automatically. The moment we paid and walked outside, we met our 'hostess', as described above. Not a friendly smile or word came from her. I wished her a nice day, but there was no response to this either. This woman/girl is the epitome of unkindness. In any case, I wouldn't want someone like that walking around my restaurant. We will choose a different lunch spot next time...

Delighted dishes: smoked fish, eggs salad, fresh green salad with tomatoes, grilled salmon, beef steak it is tremendous good, the Chef served us a great Christmas meal and thank him ! Staff very friendly, approachable and assertive. I spend a very nice evening on the company Christmas feast.

Originally reviewed 5 yrs ago, google blocked review in error so reposting; Very nice place for young and old. Situated next to the city in a forest area it screams calm. There's a big fenced playground area in front to give your younguns time to run around and release some energy (so you can relax even more). This is part of the restaurant. 't Appeltje (the small apple) is a pancake/waffle house first, with the usual like look/interior (old barn) but they also serve other dishes. Had myself a steak which was prepped just right, good chefs working the kitchen. The staff serving drinks and food were very attentive and friendly. This has been a pleasant experience and would recommend it for a quick stop, lunch or evening meal.

Strange that smoking is allowed on the terrace of a children's playground. As far as I'm concerned, children and cigarettes don't go together. I read more comments about this, so owner: do something about it. The playground is beautiful, the staff friendly and fast. Our granddaughter enjoyed it. There is plenty of seating and even on a hot day like today (28 degrees) there was plenty of shade from the many trees. The location in the forest is excellent. Would like more vegetarian options.

Too bad there is smoking on the terrace. There are also children who play there. I think it's a shame that you try to enjoy delicious food in the smoke of others.

Incredibly bad, as is the name!

Now coming here for the second year to let grandchildren play. The benches outside are green with moss, they can clean this sometimes, especially after a rain shower, your clothes are green.

Upon entering we were approached and asked to find a seat. We then waited for fifteen minutes and no one had come by to take our order. Some waitresses were chatting at the bar. Unfortunately a lesser experience.

We had our party here on July 5. Great location!

Super location to stay with family with children

We had dinner and party evening here during our wedding. Was extremely well taken care of. The food was delicious and during the party no one was left wanting for anything due to the good service. And all this for a very good price. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a wedding location!

We always have a delicious meal here. Now Threw a big party for 44 people with a BBQ. Very well taken care of and it was explained in advance what the intention was and how it would go. To be repeated.

Had something to eat here after a round of hiking and mountain biking. The playground is fun for the children. We didn't like the food as much, the idea that the children's pancakes had already been baked and had only been warmed up, just like the gluten-free pancake. We thought there was little flexibility... nice for once, but we won't be back anytime soon.

Upon arrival, you quickly joined the cozy fireplace and quickly ordered a drink. Too bad the waitress was too busy chatting... about 16 minutes of trying to make eye contact, I decided to get up and ask for attention... Really a missed opportunity on a rainy day with only 3 tables and 4 people serving... I was allowed to pay 18 euros for 4x dry white wine, but the 2 euro tip was not worth it. Great place to sit and relax. Nice in the forest

This visit was in connection with a funeral. This was carefully taken into account, and family, friends and acquaintances were able to catch up again while enjoying a cup of coffee and a sandwich. It's a shame that this has to happen after a funeral. Should also happen more often for cheerful reasons.

Nice restaurant and playground... you can sit inside and outside. Clear, you can keep an eye on your child(ren) while you have a snack or a drink. You can enjoy delicious food in a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended for your family...

Very nice place to have a drink or something to eat. Near the forest, a large playground for the children. You can sit outside, covered or not, as you wish. Enough space inside and very comfortably furnished, even with a fireplace. Come there regularly. Super fun and affordable.

Faded glory, ice cold, schnitzel was so small it blew off your plate, a pitiful pile of salad, latte was lukewarm and never again for €50, my personal opinion and experience.

Altijd leuk om hier wat te eten of drinken na een fijne boswandeling. Voor kinderen is het hier een fijne plek om lekker buiten te kunnen ravotten in de buitenspeeltuin en er is een mini cars baan. Om de speeltuin zit een hek. Parkeren kan gratis voor de deur.

Mooie locatie om na een mooie wandeling een drankje of hapje te doen. De Tomatensoep was lekker.

Wederom weer geweldig gegeten, de kids hebben zich weer prima vermaakt. Service was uitstekend.

Leuke locatie in het bos, leuk voor individueel bezoek maar ook voor feestje en partijen. Genoeg in de buurt te doen zoals klimbos voor de kids of gewoon lekker wandelen.

Een zaterdag in september : Mooi weer/druk op terras.2 Mensen arriveren om 19.15.Ze stellen de vraag ,of ze nog kunnen eten.Medewerkster antwoord:,,De keuken sluit om 19.00 U,toch zal ik ` t even vragen". Ze is snel terug en de gasten krijgen te horen:,,Als u direct voor een hoofdmenu gaat,is het nog mogelijk". Dit is nog eens KLANTVRIENDELIJK ! Ga zo door Robbert en team!!

Altijd een leuke gezellige sfeer

Vriendelijke bediening, maar duurde een 45 min voor onze pannekoeken er waren. En nog wat vervelender: wij zijn beiden slecht geworden na het eten van de pannekoek, dus er was duidelijk iets niet meer goed.

Leuke omgeving om te vertoeven. Voor kinderen volop speelgelegenheid. En het eten was lekker en het personeel deed het top.

Leuke plek voor ontspannen samenzijn met familie of vrienden.

Wij hebben hier onze bruiloft gevierd en het was fantastisch! De eigenaar dacht goed en enthousiast mee en dat is de reden waarom wij voor deze locatie hebben gekozen. Er is een sfeervol prieeltje en een mooie feestzaal. Het eten was goed en ook onze gasten hebben het goed naar hun zin gehad.

Mooie locatie in het bos. Leuke plek voor een hapje en een drankje. Voor de kids een leuke speeltuin en een hertenkamp.

We hebben daar een tussen stop gemaakt wat gedronken was redelijk druk maar wij vonden dat we goed geholpen zijn.

Wir waren heute im 'T Appeltje. Die Location ist total gemütlich. Der Spielplatz ist super. Die Pfannkuchen und Waffeln waren sehr lecker.

Het blijft een gezellig restaurant met persoonlijke aandacht. Zeer waardevol.

Lekker eten en vriendelijke bediening.

Hier ga je heen voor de speelgelegenheden niet voor het eten en al helemaal niet voor de service . Wij wouden telefonisch reserveren maar er werd gelachen en gezegd ‘het is geen zaterdag hoor kom maar gewoon’. Ter plaatste bleek dat ze om 18:30 dicht zouden gaan waarom geeft men dit niet aan? Ook geen enkele ontvangst van een gastheer of vrouw. Dus wij naar binnen ‘kies maar een plek ‘. Dat gedaan met 8 man, kwam de dame naar buiten ‘jullie mogen de tafels niet zo neer zetten’ … dan had je meteen even moeten meelopen !! Of gewoon een reservering aannemen !! Het eten: smaakloze pannenkoeken klef en droog. ‘Wiener’ schnitzel die zo klein is dat je hem bij een kindermenu prima kan serveren. Burgers waren prima, groot en betaalbaar.

Prima kipsaté en frites. Zeker aan te bevelen

Met de kleinkinderen naar 'T Appeltje. Een feest voor de kids en ondertussen kunnen opa en oma op het terras kijken hoe ze zich uit leven in de mooi aangelegde speeltuin. Leuke en vlotte bediening, eten is goed te doen en de sfeer is prima. Bij mooi weer is het wel druk en soms lastig parkeren dus kom op tijd.

Zaterdagmiddag 27-05-2023 geluncht met kinderen en kleinkinderen! Drankjes waren er vlug. Het eten daarentegen duurde écht wel lang. Als een kereltje van 4 jaar een pannenkoek met kaas besteld en een uur moet wachten is dat niet echt leuk!! Jammer! Eten was wel lekker!!

Leuke speeltuin. Vanaf het terras kun je de kinderen goed zien spelen.
