Brasserie Hugo’s Westervoort in Wijk 00

The food is excellent and the atmosphere is lovely. The service is terrible. I had to walk to the bar myself to order food and drinks, even though there were only three tables in the restaurant.

We had lunch on the 3rd day of Christmas with 4 people, nicely decorated, lovely atmosphere of Christmas and the nostalgia of an old farm

We had a really delicious meal. And we were able to talk quietly with each other.

We treat ourselves once a year and are never left disappointed. Hugo's exceeds expectations every time.

We went again today. We were lucky to find a spot again. The food was delicious, too. We were looking for a nice place for lunch, and we found it. We hadn't made a reservation, but there was still one spot for two people. So next time, make sure to book in advance, because we'll definitely be back. The service was excellent, and the dishes arrived quickly.

Not for the faint of heart and overpriced. The mushroom soup from one of the dishes we were served was the watered-down mushroom sauce from the schnitzel we had. The fries were lukewarm, hard on the outside, and hollow on the inside. The prices are like you've eaten premium.

At the end of October 2025, I dined here with (20) colleagues. We agreed on the menu beforehand. The price for a 3-course meal was €49. I find it quite high, but if it's really good, I'm fine with that. Starter: carpaccio. Like (almost) everywhere else, it was very thin, frozen-glued beef; not real carpaccio. The dressing was very average, and the sun-dried, sour, and overly hard tomatoes made it a mediocre meal. Main course: pork tenderloin medallions. For me (and someone else's), the meat was far too raw inside. Pork can be a little pink, but absolutely (!) not raw. It went back to the kitchen, and a while later we received a new portion, this time thoroughly cooked. The main course came with seasonal vegetables: 8 thin halves of green beans and 3 pieces of eggplant. Far too few vegetables, in my opinion. The eggplant was rock hard and therefore inedible. The meat was served with truffle sauce. As far as I'm concerned, that's unnecessary, because at this price point, the truffle is fake, and you can taste it. The main course was also served with fries; that's always delicious. Dessert: meringue with lemon sorbet. A nice mix of sweet and sour; predominantly sweet due to the large portion of meringue. The service is friendly. They did keep forgetting that I'd ordered both ice cream and lemon in my Coke Zero. Vegetarian options: one colleague was vegetarian and was allowed to order a la carte. Very limited selection (two items). She chose the falafel burger for her main course. Her words: "inedible." After a quarter, she left the remaining 3/4. Price-quality: not right for me; for €49, I expect better. Atmosphere: cozy, warm, "old farmhouse," nicely decorated. Perfect. Parking: plenty of parking spaces. Accessibility: excellent. Conclusion: a nice evening with colleagues, but not if I want to treat myself to a good dinner.

We didn't eat there. We just had a few drinks and nachos. They were delicious!

Located near the motorway exit, this is an incredibly good place to eat lunch. The atmosphere is very pleasant; thanks to the thoughtful ceiling design, it's nice and quiet even when the dining room is full. The portions are generous, the prices a bit higher, but very reasonable for the quality.

Well, the food was good but the service was horrible. I thought they had solved this problem but it was back, more than ever. Felt ignored. Saving grace was the food was tasty. Will I return? Maybe. I hadn't been for years because service was bad but when we went back at the summer, service was better but the old service has returned, unfortunately.

A charming brasserie with cozy decor and service with humor and flair. The food was delicious.

Great food and service in 3 languages. Highly recommend instead of the nearby Ikea/McDonalds when travelling through.

It might be nice if they put up a sign on the door saying that all dogs are welcome here (not just guide dogs). Then people with allergies could still choose to eat somewhere else.

Too bad the iced coffee was a bit too sweet, but otherwise it was a great experience.

Good service and delicious food

Very nice place! Also had a great meal. The only tip is to maybe move the smoking area a bit to the side of the building, so that the smoke doesn't blow in. And a charging station for the car would be super handy.

Nice location, not a very extensive menu. But, what is on the menu is fine. Nice people who work there. We were not looked out the door despite the fact that closing time was approaching. Great!

Everything served a bit boringly: sandwiches on a stand without any creativity. The sandwiches are poorly filled, especially the butter, but the bread is tasty.

Just the two of us sat down and enjoyed a schnitzel Hugo's style with mushrooms, peppers and melted cheese, highly recommended 👍! With a Brussels waffle with ice cream, whipped cream and warm cherries for dessert, delicious! Plus a good Cava👍! Just good food and free parking

The food itself was fine. We were given a menu because we were a large group. This was also communicated well and clearly in advance. However, the staff rarely came by to inquire whether anyone would like to order something to drink. Even after dessert we had to ask the waiter ourselves if we could get coffee. That was a shame.

Had a delicious meal at Hugo's. The roasted beef loin was perfect and to die for. The rib eye cooking was also great. Tasty fries too. The shrimp cocktail was what you expect. Good but not special. The schnitzel was again great. Excellent, smooth and friendly service, although a little more knowledge about the dishes is still a tip for some. Would love to come again when I'm in the area.

Attractively decorated, tasty lunch, beautifully presented... I added a small bowl of butter to the baguettes of the soup and some fresh parsley to the Mushroom Soup. Tap water in a carafe as an extra service would be an added advantage. I definitely want to come back again!

Unfortunately, we were faced with a closed door at Christmas. We made a reservation on October 14 and received confirmation of this. But unfortunately their system did not yet work through the Christmas registration. So we were left in the cold. Of course we reported this but unfortunately they still blame their system. Even though we send confirmation of the reservation twice. Well organized and thank you!

Having lunch with my daughter. Friendly service, beautiful restaurant and delicious food. Honestly too much on the plate. I'm a big man but I couldn't finish it, it's a pity that the food has to go. But quality excellent

Een gezellig restaurant waar je heerlijk kunt eten. Kwaliteit, kwantiteit en prijs zijn goed. Wij waren daar met onze familie, waarvan een zwager alleen gemalen/gepureerd voedsel kan eten. Het was hier geen punt om het eten te pureren. Mijn zwager heeft heerlijk op zijn gemak kunnen eten. Er zijn toch nog 2 aandachtspunten te noemen. Op de eerste plaats misschien een mogelijkheid om een extra afzuiging in de buurt van de keuken te plaatsen, zodat de kook- en bakluchtjes van met name vis, niet direct in het restaurant te ruiken zijn. Op de tweede plaats de parkeerplaatsen voor invaliden en een pad naar de ingang te betegelen, zodat mensen die moeilijk ter been zijn of in een rolstoel zitten, niet door het grind hoeven te ploeteren. Voor de rest alle lof over Hugo's Westervoort!!!

We happened to be in the area after visiting the shops in Duiven and wanted something to eat. Very pleasantly surprised with friendly service, delicious dishes and a cozy atmosphere! These are such nice surprises. 👌🏻

Cozy off-the-road restaurant near Duiven, for those who are on their way from Germany to Utrecht but do not want to have lunch on the A12 highway. The atmosphere and furnishings are typical of an old stable farm: a bit dark but quiet and cozy, clean and well cared for. The staff was very friendly and the prices are average. There is ample and free parking. We both had a salad (carpaccio or chicken), which was richly provided with various cold vegetables and in sufficiently large portions, see photos.

Beautiful outdoor restaurant, cozy atmosphere and pleasant environment. The service was nice and attentive, unfortunately the food was unimaginative and tasteless, its quality did not match the price.

Had lunch with the 3 of us. Nice that you can choose from everything at the same time (soup, salad, sandwich) if you can't choose. I also thought the etagere with the small sandwiches would be fun to taste everything, but no one wanted to join me. The food was fine. It was very cold because the doors were wide open. Legend: 1) Terrible! I don't recommend it, I will never come back! 2) Too bad, below my expectations, I won't come again. 3) Ok, nothing wrong with that, but nothing special, nice for once. 4) Fine, worth coming back. 5) Excellent! I recommend, I will definitely come back!

Stopped in transit this week. Very friendly assistance upon arrival, we were immediately asked if the dog wanted water.
