Delicious food! Cozy and highly recommended.

You can eat incredibly well here! You won't be overwhelmed by the choice; the menu (thankfully) isn't overly extensive, so there's something for everyone. The food is beautifully presented (in a living room atmosphere or in the modern conservatory), and most importantly for me: the food is hot! Friendly staff with an eye for detail. They ask if you're enjoying your meal and if they can help you with any drinks. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely be back!

Yesterday, October 1, 2025, we had a delicious meal with the new owners. We had three courses, everything was excellent. Highly recommended.

As of October 1st, Gerrit and Maaike will be the new hosts. Together with a wonderful team of staff, they ensure a pleasant evening and a comfortable stay. I had a fantastic meal there and will definitely recommend it to others. Plenty of space inside, outside, and in the conservatory. It's a great place for lunch or dinner, but also a great spot for a cup of coffee or tea. Close to the station. It's also a great place for a business lunch or something similar. Good service, friendly people, and a warm welcome. There are some older reviews that aren't as good. That's a thing of the past. Gerrit and Maaike, together with their team, will ensure every visit is a pleasant experience. I will definitely be back!

What a fantastic experience we had at Huis ter West for our baby shower. We felt truly welcome. Everything was perfect: the location, the food and drinks, and the wonderful waitresses. Huis ter West, you're highly recommended!

We had planned a fun evening out with seven people. Upon arrival, we were told what was sold out. By 6 p.m., five main courses were already out of stock. The chef had forgotten to prepare one dish. One person in our party received hers later. My daughter wanted a vegetarian main course. There were two of them on the menu. Again, one dish was sold out! So, she essentially had no choice. The same thing happened when ordering desserts. The one we wanted was no longer available.

The food was delicious and it was very pleasant. I wrote this a few years ago. It hasn't gotten any better since they took over. Today was our third visit to the new owner. Everyone deserves a chance, but today was so bad that we decided it was truly the last time. It's a shame we used to go to Manfred's every week, but I'll pass on this one. If I want fried food, I go to the cafeteria.

Today (Sunday) I had drinks with my daughter and mother-in-law. What incredibly friendly and sweet waitresses; you really feel seen and heard. My compliments!

Very disappointing experience at Huis ter West Today I went to Huis ter West with my sister and her two young children to eat a cake. We came with high expectations, because we have always been helped well here in the past. Unfortunately, this time it was completely different. We had to wait more than 20 minutes before someone even came to take our order. After waiting for 10 minutes I kindly went to the waitress to ask if we could order something. Her only response was a mumbled "yes". In the meantime she was talking extensively with an acquaintance - first outside, and then again inside at a table - while the restaurant was almost empty. It felt like we were completely ignored. When we finally decided to leave, the acquaintance of the waitress even came after us to tell us that we "just had to be patient". This confirmed that it was indeed a friend/acquaintance, and so our time as a customer was apparently considered less important. Very unfortunate. We came for a pleasant afternoon, but left the place with a bad feeling. We won't be coming back here for a while.

Often eaten here, but since the takeover it has deteriorated. Very unfortunate. We were served a raw vegetable salad and it tasted really bad. A salad should never, ever taste like liverwurst in my experience. The steak was decent but well done instead of medium rare. The rest of the attachments such as fries, etc. were sufficient and fine. My partner had a cordonbleu that was supposed to contain gammon, but there was such a large tendon in it that this cannot be gammon and is really not tasty. Of course we told the waiter that we had a few complaints. He would pass this on to the cook, after which there would be no response or anything. If something goes wrong, that's okay, but take the bull by the horns and do something with it. Simply not responding to your complaint leaves you unheard and a next visit is therefore no longer in the agenda. It is a very beautiful location but the food leaves much to be desired. It seems clear to me that that is the main thing you are here for. I really hope that something will be done about this so that we can enjoy our home in the west again in the future.

Since it was taken over, I think it has become a messy idea. Long wait for your drinks etc. Had a cousins ​​day here in 2023 and it was very well organized down to the last detail. Last year things were not well organised. What I had agreed with the manager and had put down on paper did not correspond at all. I used to enjoy coming here for lunch or dinner, but unfortunately not anymore...

Teleurstellende ervaring bij Huis ter West Wij hebben een ontzettend slechte ervaring gehad met Huis ter West in Westervoort. Vorig jaar zijn we hier geweest om onze trouwdag te bespreken en afspraken vast te leggen. Vandaag kwamen we op afspraak om alles door te nemen, en tot onze grote verbazing bleek er niets op papier te staan. Alsof dat nog niet erg genoeg was, werd ons verteld dat bepaalde eerder gemaakte afspraken niet mogelijk waren. Wat echt onacceptabel is: er zitten gewoon andere gasten tussen onze bruiloftsgasten! Dit getuigt van een compleet gebrek aan organisatie en professionaliteit. Hoe kun je een bruiloft zo slordig plannen? Wij hadden verwacht dat een locatie als deze onze dag serieus zou nemen, maar dat is duidelijk niet het geval. Als je op zoek bent naar een betrouwbare trouwlocatie, zou ik Huis ter West zeker overslaan. Dit heeft ons veel stress en teleurstelling opgeleverd. Absoluut geen aanrader!

Disappointing experience at Huis ter West We had a very bad experience with Huis ter West in Westervoort. Last year we were here to discuss our wedding day and make arrangements. Today we made an appointment to go through everything, and to our great surprise there turned out to be nothing on paper. As if that wasn't bad enough, we were told that certain previously made appointments were not possible. What is really unacceptable: there are other guests among our wedding guests! This shows a complete lack of organization and professionalism. How can you plan a wedding so sloppily? We expected a location like this to take our day seriously, but that is clearly not the case. If you are looking for a reliable wedding location, I would definitely skip Huis ter West. This has caused us a lot of stress and disappointment. Definitely not recommended!

Zondagavond 1745 gereserveerd, er werd meteen verteld dat 3 van de 6 hoofdgerechten niet meer te bestellen waren. Druk weekend?????? Keuze wordt dan wel beperkt, verder oogt het niet supergezellig.

Nice place to have some lunch; ample parking nearby. The tables - especially downstairs - are a bit close together, so you can't tell your life story to your group. Service is excellent and friendly. The quality of the food is good, although in my opinion the Caesar salad would be better called chicken salad. The recipe and dressing were not as the Caesar salad is intended. Furthermore, it was lovely to sit in, nice and authentic and beautifully renovated.

We had made a reservation with a group of 12 people for a farewell dinner for a colleague. We were given 2 menus in advance in different price ranges, one of which we were allowed to take. Very nice that that option was offered. The menus were very well put together with something for everyone. We had a delicious meal, had a nice seat and the employees were all very friendly and attentive. The decoration was already in the Christmas spirit and very attractive. In short, we had a very nice evening and will definitely come back.

Very tasty large portion of homemade tuna salad on 2 slices of bread. The club sandwich was also large with lots of crispy chicken. No meager portions here.

We thought we would have a bite to eat at the house to the west. Upon arrival we were immediately informed that if a large group arrived we would have to move. Once the food arrived we didn't know what happened to us. We ordered 1x chicken skewer and 1x schnitzel. The food is way below par. The chicken skewer smelled chemically and was unedible. And if you say something about this, apparently people cannot handle criticism. Because according to them there is nothing wrong with it. This had nothing to do with a charcoal skewer We were told to leave the tent! Scandalous. Apparently the waitress's acquaintances also felt it necessary to get involved. Moreover, the waitress felt it necessary to discuss her private problems/affairs with these acquaintances in front of the customers. It's a shame it was taken over because it hasn't gotten any better. Pilgrim had more decency and treated his customers differently. Apparently the waitress had also joked that we had told her off. Running a business like this doesn't have a long life. We certainly don't advertise.

Went last Monday, September 9, 2024 in the afternoon (around 3 p.m.). Unfortunately, the friendliness was hard to find!! First of all, upon entering, none of the staff said hello, didn't even get up! We all sat around a table chatting... After taking drinks, it took a while before we got our drinks... Had to wait 5 to 10 minutes before they came to take the next orders... We got up and left... Rather be lazy. the ass together then satisfy the guests.. There were 4 to 6 guests so they were not busy.. Sorry busy chatting with each other!!

Nice place to have something to eat and delicious ice cream. If you sit outside, the traffic is sometimes disturbing, but you can also sit inside. Plus point: cash accepted.

Went for lunch last week. I had the cheese steak, the meat was good but unfortunately on a slice of cornbread which was completely soggy due to the moisture. A friend of mine had a hot meat sandwich, but the fricandeau was not even baked, but it was resolved when reported. Staff friendly but all in all a disappointment unfortunately.

The dishes taste fine, but one could pay a little more attention to them. Two slices of bread with a meatball ordered with mayo is served with peanut sauce. Furthermore, this dish is very bare, even a little garnish is missing. In the hour and a half that we spent on the terrace, we heard two people comment about the crispy chicken sandwich. How on earth are you supposed to eat the thing with any decency? We had not ordered it, but we wondered the same thing when we saw the sandwich. Egg dishes are served without salt. That's fine in itself, of course, but make sure you put a salt and pepper mill on the table. These are small things, but all together they give us reason to say that just a little more attention could be paid to the dishes.

Went to eat ice cream. Old station building with lots of atmosphere. Sandwiched between the track and the road, space is used optimally.

Ordered Picanha. Steak vd Grill. Was very tasty. Excellent side dishes. Little to complain about. Reasonably priced.

Next time, try serving a separately ordered warm starter and a warm main course consecutively. Now it was time to work hard.

Delicious ice cream, terrace is less, just like sitting under a Christmas tree

Had lunch there, well the meatballs were like flour balls, really not tasty. And a carpaccio sandwich, the bread underneath was old and stale. This was once but never again

Initially we sat outside with the whole family and due to the hot sun/weather we were all able to take a seat in the conservatory with air conditioning, which went smoothly. Then everyone's orders (+- 16 people) were taken, so far they went well, but then they asked several times which bread had been chosen. The first drink was coffee, but the next one took a very long time. A little later I ordered a coke, but it never came. To finish, just have coffee and leave the cola alone. Oh, that's further down because no one responded, was the message! You know who ordered and deliver it right in front of them. Oh yes, the food. I had a carpaccio, a large ball but sparsely topped. And my wife's was still frozen. That was indicated and the response was a substantiation of why it was frozen, uh, I don't care about that, you then indicate: oh, apologies, that's not the intention, back from the kitchen there are only pieces of bread with the carpaccio on the plate, all the dressing, green and pine nuts had been thrown away, yes it was such a mess was the response. Ma'am, if you don't like the work, go to a snack bar. When removing the plates, the question was also: was it tasty? Usually I hear in the catering industry, it tasted good, everything was to my liking.... at the very last I had ice cream and there was nothing wrong with that, it was tasty and a nice portion. All in all, I might come again for the ice cream, but the food and especially the friendliness. no thanks.

Delicious food last Saturday, friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere

Had dinner here, it didn't start well. The sandwich took a very long time, the starter arrived almost immediately while we had only just finished the bread. Starter was very sparse and tough. Main course was not special for the price they ask for it. The food came in stages so some things were already cold. Furthermore, you were also looked away from where you were sitting, which was a bit strange. Furthermore, the service: the service also left something to be desired. Don't ask if it is enough, don't ask if it is to your liking, and just take away the food in front of you without even asking if everything was to your liking and/or sufficient. The atmosphere is fine, nothing else to complain about. All in all a major disappointment. We doubt we will appear here again. Definitely some room for improvement!

Ate twice at HTW. Delicious food both times. Friendly service and informal atmosphere. Highly recommended: steak tartare and the Picanha. We will be back soon!

Been today, Had tomato soup and asparagus soup. Do not wash fresh soup, but from a package. There was no asparagus to be seen with the asparagus soup. Main course, 3 people received their food, the fourth person's food came 8 minutes later. Kitchen fault. The staff was also busy with other things than with the customers. We were here a few weeks ago, everything was perfect. Now it was far from perfect, a major disappointment.

Super cozy place with large terrace in Ibiza style. Price-quality really good, we had a large prawn skewer and a skewer with tenderloin tips from the grill with mushroom sauce. Served with baked potatoes, fries, grilled vegetables and salad. Great, highly recommended.

We used to like coming here and the service and food were always great, as soon as you walked onto the terrace you were immediately asked what you wanted to drink and you were given the menu, friendly staff, in short, we liked coming here. Now with the new owner, so we wanted to see if it was still as perfect and good. We just went, it was very quiet, the back terrace was completely empty, so we sat there. Waited for over 20 minutes, didn't see anyone, except a waitress who was clearing a table (stacking chairs), no boo or yuck, walked back inside and wasn't seen again. We got up and walked away, we'll order something somewhere. Very unfortunate this change and not for the better. We are not going anymore. So I can't judge food and drinks, because we didn't get anything 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nieuwe eigenaar?? Prijzen enorm gestegen. Bodempje rode wijn in plaats van een glas. Vlees hoofdgerecht was in orde, minimale hoeveelheid groente en frites. Kwam ook nog eens veel later dan het vlees. Frites bij gevraagd, stond op rekening. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar

Delicious food in a beautiful atmospheric atmosphere. We had a Burrata and Carpaccio beforehand. Both beautifully presented, generous portions and excellent flavors. Our daughter had a sandwich with spreads. Went down to the last crumb. Then the mini spare ribs, half a chicken and the prawn skewers. Generous portions here too. Buttery-tender chicken and prawns with a delicious flavour. Spareribs really a full portion! The ice cream parlor was closed...(extremely bad weather so understandable) But our daughter was still allowed to go with the host to choose flavors. She came back with a full tub of ice cream! Enjoyed!! The wine was also more than good and everything very affordable. Cheers! We will definitely come back.

I just got 2 big ice creams. at Manfred it was always great 3 large scoops and real whipped cream now at the new owner a disappointment little ice cream from a spray can and paying €11.25 we will not do this anymore.
