Great restaurant, beautiful chapel, and you can walk in the park. There is also a cave where you can light a candle.

Last Saturday, four of us visited Brasserie Jacob V in Oirschot. We enjoyed the ‘High Tea’ we had reserved in advance. Reservations are highly recommended, as demand is high. Fortunately, booking the correct date and time is a piece of cake via the reservation module on their website. Brasserie Jacob V is located outside the center of Oirschot. You will likely need to drive there, but fortunately, there is ample parking available on-site. Landgoed Bijsterveld is currently in use as a luxury care facility for the elderly. In addition to a modern hospitality space, Brasserie Jacob V utilizes the former chapel of the Montfortan Fathers, who put it into use in 1910. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and escorted to our reserved table. It was already neatly set and ready, complete with a sign displaying our arrival time and name. Normally, High Tea is served in the chapel, but this time Brasserie Jacob V had a fantastic, canvas-covered terrace at our disposal. After we had taken our seats, we were asked if we wanted our glass of ‘bubbels’ with or without alcohol. Such a glass of bubbly is always a festive start to a pleasant High Tea! To whet our appetite, a glass of nachos with a tasty guacamole dip and another small bite (whose name I have forgotten) were served as amuse-bouches. This was immediately followed by a very tasty curry soup. Next, the first savory tiered stand was brought to the table, where the traditional ‘finger sandwiches’ had been replaced by a tasty sausage roll (we are in Brabant, after all), a filled wrap, and a delicious dish with pearl couscous. On top of the stand were 3 white and 3 brown rolls and 2 small bowls with tuna and chicken spreads. And this is where my point of criticism comes into play. These were two very small portions for 4 people to make their sandwiches with. We could certainly have asked for a refill, but from the perspective of ‘hospitality,’ they could perhaps have mentioned this themselves at the table upon serving. The next course consisted of the ‘sweet’ tiered stand featuring an assortment of sweet treats such as small warm scones with lemon curd and a warm pastel de nata that immediately reminded me of Portugal. In addition, there were various other sweet surprises, all of which were very tasty. I would also like to place a small point of criticism regarding this ‘sweet’ round. The portions of clotted cream and The lemon curd was on the marginal side for four people. It might have been enough for two, but with four people, there was unfortunately very little I could spread on my scone. During tea, three different types of tea (China White Hair, Shanghai Chai, and Tropical Heat) are served. Each has its own distinct flavor profile but complements the served products very well. And who has ever drunk their tea from a wine glass before? Very special! The above ‘minor criticisms’ do not detract from the fact that we were able to spend a pleasant afternoon here. Friendly staff, tasty products, a pleasant atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings ensure that you would gladly return here again. Especially if my two points of criticism are addressed!

After a minor hiccup with the service, who only wanted to serve us 3 dishes per table (there were four of us), everything was absolutely top-notch. The kitchen team, in particular, delivered a top-notch performance. Rarely have I eaten so deliciously, and most of all (personal preference) the veal cheek. A gem in Oirschot, beautifully situated in a breathtaking park. Worthy of a Bib Gourmand.

Tasty sandwiches and a lovely quiet spot!

Very beautiful place, friendly service, but the lunch itself was not very good. We had a club sandwich with black (inedible) bacon and the pastrami was tough and not very flavorful. For lunch, not worth repeating.

Very beautifully situated restaurant! The terrace has a beautiful view of the pond and greenery! The food was fine. The serving staff was also very nice, but she was working alone on a fairly full terrace, so that meant waiting a very long time until we finally got a menu and could order.

Had a wonderful high tea this afternoon. A cozy atmosphere, and we were able to sit outside with a lovely view of meadows and trees. The high tea really stands out from other high teas I have had. All small bites, very varied. It is highly recommended.

Surprised by the ambiance in this (former) church for a High Tea (in capital letters, because don't expect pots of hot water with a stack of tea bags and a tiered stand of snacks). Originally, we were going to have this high tea with 5 adults and a 4-month-old baby, but the baby got sick. In hindsight, a blessing in disguise, because this wasn't a location to be with a baby anyway. We were welcomed with a glass of bubbly (also non-alcoholic) and an amuse-bouche. This was followed by a tasty soup and a savory and sweet tiered stand in two courses. Accompanied by matching wines, uh, teas. 😉 We enjoyed it all and returned to our accommodation feeling satisfied and content.

I didn't know this charming spot was in Oirshot. Delicious food, nice atmosphere. The veal steak and gratin were excellent. The host provided excellent dinner service!

We booked a high tea for six people. The location is lovely, in a beautiful park with other (residential) amenities. For the high tea, we were escorted to the chapel where a beautifully set table was waiting. The start with champagne (also non-alcoholic) and an amuse-bouche promised much, and it delivered. A delicious soup was followed by a savory and then a sweet tiered stand with matching tea, served in wine glasses. Everything was done at a leisurely pace and catered to any dietary requirements, with the adapted products just as beautiful and delicious as the originals. Highly recommended.

Delicious high tea!! A bit more luxurious than a standard high tea, without being too fancy. Matching tea served in a wine glass, delicious and slightly different snacks. I've been twice already, and the next one is already planned. Highly recommended, and the building and terrace are beautiful.

The high tea in the former chapel is highly recommended! After starting with bubbles, the delightfully served variety of savory and sweet snacks is a delight. Several offer a surprising taste experience, such as the unique amuse-bouche, and the curry soup was also delicious.

A very nice and beautiful location for lunch. One drawback is that there's only one woman present who has to take both orders and pay. This can be annoying when it's busy. It's a shame, perhaps this could be improved. Otherwise, everything was well taken care of.

Two of us came here yesterday for high tea. It was well-prepared, delicious, with some very surprising flavors, and the explanations were excellent. Everything was done at a leisurely pace, which is a valuable bonus with plenty of snacks ;). The service was excellent: a friendly, relaxed (Flemish?) lady with a wealth of knowledge. For two of us coffee drinkers, the tea was surprisingly delicious! Not your typical tea, and a nice touch: it was served in wine glasses. It's also a beautiful location, where you can take a short walk afterward if you'd like.

Lunchroom Jacob V – A hidden gem in the Oirschot woods We've been to Lunchroom Jacob V three times now, and each time feels like coming home to a fairytale corner of Brabant. This place is tucked away in the Oirschot woods and, in our opinion, an absolute must-see for anyone who appreciates ambiance, quality, and hospitality. The high tea is a treat in itself: beautifully presented, fresh, surprising, and lovingly prepared. From sweet treats to savory snacks – everything is perfect. But the lunch menu is also top-notch: creative, flavorful dishes that are just a little bit different from what you're used to. You can taste the care and passion in every dish. What truly makes Jacob V special is the friendly and attentive staff. They make time for you, have an eye for detail, and make you feel welcome – whether it's your first or third visit. Our first encounter with their teapot was a little adventure in itself – and still brings a smile. Without giving too much away: it's quintessential Jacob V. I had high tea here and it was all absolutely delicious! We tried so many different flavors; it was a real treat for the palate. We also had several allergies, which we communicated beforehand, and they were incredibly accommodating! Each bite clearly indicated what was in it and who could and couldn't have it. Top-notch service!

We had a lovely glass of wine there. We cycled past it and will definitely eat there again.

Had a super fun high tea with friends today! The food was really great and the staff was very sweet and attentive. They took our dietary requirements into account, which we really appreciated. Everything just felt right. If we could give more than 5 stars, we would immediately!

Had a great time today! The atmosphere was very warm and cozy and the lady who helped us was very warm and patient, and she really took the time to explain everything well, even when some of us did not speak Dutch very well. That made the service extra personal and pleasant - really great! We enjoyed a delicious snack board with fresh and tasty products, and the dessert was not only beautifully prepared but also delicious. The wines and beers paired perfectly. Definitely recommended!

A great location where brasserie Jacob V is located. Linked to a beautiful historic chapel. Beautiful modern furnishings with comfortable seating areas. The High Tea was really delicious with a nice matching tea for each round. Very friendly staff and good service.

Cozy High Tea location in a converted church. Not a standard high tea but different dishes, with good service. The quality of the food is mediocre. And despite the fact that we confirm with the waitress that my 6 year old daughter wants a children's high tea, this request is ignored and she gets a standard high tea. At checkout it is then indicated that we should have indicated this when making the reservation, although this was never explicitly requested.

Had a high tea last Sunday. We thought the price (34.50 euros per person) was not in proportion to the small quantity you get. The appetizer, curry soup, was tasty, but actually a bit too sharp and clear for the enthusiast. We had contacted the location by telephone 24 hours in advance to inform them that we did not want goat cheese, but we still received goat cheese snacks, which was quickly corrected. Moreover, the wait between courses was very long. The service was very friendly.

Had lunch today, opted for goat cheese salad and fish salad. We were both unhappy. Very little lettuce, a lot of bread croutons in the salad, which I really don't want in a healthy salad and the fish salad, little lettuce, little fish, 1 prawn and also a lot of croutons And that for that for that price.

Had a baby shower/high tea yesterday. Well cared for. Tasty snacks and tea. Everything looked very neat. We have had a really nice time. And everyone thought it was a beautiful location. We were also allowed to sit on the balcony in the chapel, which was of course absolutely beautiful.

Enjoyed a high tea with friends last weekend. Beautiful surroundings and super friendly staff. A chic high tea, with both small snacks and a tier with sandwiches, etc. Some more unique flavor combinations and distinct flavors. I like trying new things, so I really enjoyed that. If you like simpler flavors, it might not be your thing. Delicious tea was also served. All in all, a huge success!

Yesterday we enjoyed a tour with a card club of 10 people by guide Wim, on the grounds with the buildings and the gardens with the beautiful trees. Then enjoyed a delicious surprise menu. Food was fine and the atmosphere is ok (although the terrace in real life is a lot less beautiful than in the photos). Unfortunately, the service was downright bad: we had to wait 20+ minutes for our first drinks and our lunch order was lost, so we ended up having to wait more than an hour for it. There were no apologies from the staff. There seemed to be more than enough staff around, so it seemed to be disinterest rather than workload. Too bad, we had a much better experience at Maurik Castle!

Everything was fantastic! Tip, do something about the air conditioning, cold air that it blows. But it was resolved very well, so certainly no complaints!

We had our wedding at Bijstervelt Castle. Everything was perfect, from start to finish. The staff is particularly friendly. They were also very flexible during the preparation and took our wishes into account. The day itself was perfect. We were even able to eat outside under a party tent on the lawn. The chef had put together a menu for us which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our guests have complimented the food. The party in the chapel was a highlight of the day for us. Bijstervelt Castle, THANK YOU!

Although food was great the service left a lot to be desired. Furthermore it was very hot 🥵 inside, various people complained but nothing was apparently possible to do about it the heat.

Sometimes, when you think about going out to eat somewhere, you call in "Connoisseurs". We also. Our daughters didn't hesitate for a second when we asked them and they shouted, well we had a High Tea at Brasserie Jacob V yesterday and it was excellent! So don't hesitate and make a reservation before 7 p.m. Just the surroundings and the walk to it, the terrace, the meadows and the rural tranquility surrounded by beautiful architecture and buildings was a treat. Of course you can expect the food from this Chef to be excellent... and it was. Not only in terms of taste but also the design and everything that surrounds such a surprise menu. The advice about wine and drinks, the conviviality and the personal attention received. Everything perfect. So for a nice price we were in the most beautiful surroundings and could enjoy the sounds and all the rural views for hours. And we also received a FANTASTIC surprise menu! The service is excellent and the attention we received was very friendly. So, don't hesitate at Brasserie Jacob V in Oirschot.

My stay was in the care hotel at the same location where Brasserie Jacob V is located. A beautiful setting, location and entourage. Very friendly employees who really fulfill the wishes of their guests from their catering heart. The chefs get an excellent 10 from me. Price-quality top, as far as I am concerned this restaurant is worthy of one Michelin star. Unfortunately I couldn't finish dinner because my pain was getting to be too much. My husband and I were allowed to continue eating the remaining course menu the next day. This is an exceptionally high class service. We also completed it the next day. For new guests, this dining opportunity is more than worthwhile with top products, fresh and served worthy of Michelin.

Great location and good food, but we do have some critical comments. We were 4 people on April 6 and had to wait a very long time for the menus, so I asked for them. We also had to wait a long time for coffee and tea and it was indeed busy, but we don't experience such slow service very often. With the delicious soup we, 4 people, only received one bread roll with some butter, very poor! The chosen wine turned out to have run out, no problem, we ordered another wine. When ordering a second glass, it turned out to be empty again. The wine that was still in stock turned out to be one euro more expensive...8.50...a considerable amount! Once again, delicious food, but here too sparseness: perhaps there could be a bit more added vegetables and certainly for those prices!! Too bad, we feel a bit cheated!

Had a delicious meal tonight at brasserie Jacob V. in Oirschot, part of Kasteel Bijsterveld. Attractive restaurant in a beautiful wooded area. The chef cooks gluten- and lactose-free as standard! A gluten-free high tea is also possible

We enjoyed a wonderful high tea here. What a special and luxurious experience this was. The high tea was served in courses, where we always received a detailed explanation of the tea we were served (in wine glasses) and the accompanying delicacies. Fantastic structure from amuse to soup to savory snacks and finally sweet snacks. Unusual dishes with special flavors (combinations). The environment is also very cozy, inside was beautiful, but we also enjoyed sitting outside because of the warm late summer weather. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend it to everyone!
