We had a delicious 4-course surprise menu. All courses are truly a delight to look at and eat, like works of art on your plate! Highly recommended! Beautiful decor, lovely terrace, and super friendly service!

Had a delightful evening with a 5-course chef's menu. Beautiful and delicious dishes and well-chosen accompanying wines. A new gem on my fine dining list. Certainly also made possible by the excellent care of the charming hostess!

Last night, the four of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on the beautiful, atmospheric terrace. Super friendly service, delicious food (the tuna is amazing!), lovely ambiance in a relaxed, informal yet neat atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Our first experience at Brasserie Monsees was surprising. We wanted a nice location with our daughters and son-in-law to celebrate the end of our 55th wedding anniversary with a lovely dinner. The location and reception were fine, and the food was amazing. All in all, a good choice. However, there is some well-intentioned criticism, including the price of a bottle of still tap water (€6.25) and the nice gesture of chocolates with the text "Heartfelt congratulations on your 55th wedding anniversary" written in chocolate, yet noted on the final bill. Otherwise, we enjoyed the hospitality of Brasserie Monsees and certainly the excellent and friendly service.

Food very disappointing, steak tartare finely ground, tasteless and crunchy. Salad Monsees 30 euros very disappointing, nothing compared to the former Salade Vlaar. Paid 175 euros and went home disappointed for the 3rd time. For us, the last time.

The fish was advertised as sole, but it consisted of two thin fillets like a Dover sole. The taste was not fresh, and the fish was somewhat dry. They charged €50 for it, which is far too expensive.

Delicious dishes with surprising combinations, plenty of vegetarian options, good wines, a relaxed atmosphere, and hospitable staff. You can also have lunch or enjoy drinks on the terrace (with very good bitterballen), for example as a stop during a walk through the beautiful country estates of ‘s-Graveland.

Highly recommended! We had a delicious lunch at Monsees today and enjoyed the Salade Monsees and Salade Riche with beautiful South African white wine (Spier winery). Welcome and service were truly top-notch. Bread roll beforehand from the best baker in the Gooi region. Restaurant Vlaar is no longer there, but it was taken over by a real star 👍

We had a delicious meal last night and what a wonderful experience it was 🤍 We started the evening with a glass of bubbly, a great start right away. After that, we enjoyed tuna and scallops as starters, both super fresh and beautifully seasoned. For the main course, we chose the veal entrecote, perfectly cooked and highly recommended if you love good meat. And to finish… the crème brûlée 😍 Nice and creamy with a crispy sugar layer, exactly as it should be. All of this, of course, accompanied by a good wine, which made it complete 🍷 The atmosphere was warm and cozy, really the kind of place where you want to sit for a long time. In short: delicious food, great service, and definitely a place we will return to!

We enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner on March 28, 2026, in one of the private dining rooms. Service was efficient and fast, the food was top-notch, and the atmosphere a 10. Even better than we had hoped. It has been a long time since everything was truly perfect. Monsees is a huge asset to the region!

Dear Sir/Madam, I have been a regular at this restaurant for years and was unpleasantly surprised that there are no vegetarian dishes on the menu (except for 1, chicory). Furthermore, it took quite a long time for them to realize that we were there and therefore needed service. I also noticed that it took a very long time before I received the oysters and even longer before we received the main courses. All in all, disappointing. We dined at Restaurant Monsees in 's-Graveland on Valentine's Day, and it was truly fantastic! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and romantic, perfectly presented with attention to detail. The dinner was meticulously organized: creative, flavorful dishes, beautifully presented, and clearly prepared with love. Every dish was a little surprise. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. We felt truly pampered, which made the evening extra special. In short, Monsees made our Valentine's evening unforgettable. A charming venue with fantastic food and top-notch service; we will definitely be back!

Simply easy, 5 stars all round. We spent the whole day meeting in one of the two beautiful rooms. A pleasant space, beautiful light, and a great atmosphere. They thought of everything. Brasserie Monsees in 's-Graveland is a real asset to the Gooi region. The dishes are beautiful and delicious! Prices are high, but that's fine if you're good. On the other hand, they have excellent wines by the glass under ten euros. Very convenient if you want a good glass of wine but not a bottle. My only complaint is the large space, especially on quieter Sunday evenings. Where the wines are currently displayed, they should really put a taller open cabinet. That would make it more comfortable for a group of 20 people. Thanks again. And also for the gift for my partner's birthday.

Celebrated my husband's 60th birthday here with friends - the new location is fabulous! Although we miss the location in Hilversum town centre, this new location has more space - the high ceiling is wonderful and the interior is cool. There is also a separate party room which looks good. Go and eat here - it's great!

With a Christmas menu, lunch. What goes wrong at many Asian restaurants. Here: delicious, thanks to the kitchen, perfectly cooked. Very nice wines, and one maestro in the service is even more fun and understands the language than the next. A fantastic Christmas lunch!

There were two of us and we both had the 5-course chef's menu. It was delicious, and the appetizer and main course were generous portions. The service was perfect, even though the restaurant was almost full.

Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. The quality of the service and the food was much lower than when the restaurant was owned by Vlaar, where we were regulars. The staff clearly lacked the attention (and feeling) needed to please guests (this clearly didn't apply only to 'our' table). The time between courses was also quite long (50 minutes). The quality and quantity of the food were disproportionate to the prices charged. A restaurant should be ashamed to charge over €16 for a slice of cheesecake no more than 3cm thick/wide. They've unfortunately lost us as customers, but I hope Monsees takes this criticism to heart so that future customers can leave satisfied.

I had a wonderful meal with my colleagues. The steak tartare is highly recommended. The guinea fowl was perfect, and the Basque cheesecake was absolutely delicious. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back.

Mediocre, strange combinations: salmon with madelines, rendang with sirloin steak, cheese sauce—well, flavors so far apart that the dishes lack cohesion. The service is unprofessional, a training company, but that shouldn't be the dominant factor. A decent wine list, though. And while we're on the subject of feedback, the font and size of the menu aren't appropriate for the target audience; they're so small they're almost unreadable. Not an improvement over Vlaar. Our next visit will be with the new owner. The price-performance ratio isn't good.

Upon entering, we were immediately given a warm welcome, and our coats were taken and hung up for us. It was quiet on Saturday afternoon, December 5th; was everyone celebrating Sinterklaas? Large dining room, but thoughtfully furnished with cleverly placed tables, mainly round and oval ones. We love that. A reasonably extensive menu with all kinds of delicious items. The Salade Monsees is a particular highlight. Very high-quality ingredients are used. You can taste that. Very nice. We will come back for that and greedily order the large portion. The wine list has a bit of everything, with varying prices. I won't venture into the entry-level wine. So it will be a bottle to share. Dishes are beautifully presented and the portions are fine. Not overloaded, but not tiny either; everything is delicious. Excellent service, friendly staff. Great value for money. Hope to come back for lunch soon.

I eat a lot in the Gooi region and surrounding areas, and I wanted to try a new place. The website looked good, and my partner and I dined there for dinner, a three-course meal. I had a wonderful experience at Brasserie Monsees. We were kindly helped with our coats and escorted to our seats. It took a bit too long for the first service to arrive, but after that, everything went smoothly. The courses arrived quickly and were delicious. Wonderfully tender meat and fish, and a dessert that was truly exceptional. My partner's Aperol Spritz was €11, but it was completely filling! The male server didn't quite know how to pour a zero-proof beer; it came out a bit foamy. Nevertheless, the service was very friendly. The atmosphere was very neat and understated. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and, above all, the food was delicious. My partner and I were both full afterward, thanks to the well-prepared food.

I also really appreciate that my four-legged friend is always very welcome; that makes it a place I'll definitely keep coming back to. We've rarely had such a disappointing restaurant experience. We were curious, especially because we'd always enjoyed our meals at the previous owners (Restaurant Vlaar), but this was a fiasco. The welcome was downright unpleasant: the menu was brought by a surly, unkempt woman with a greasy, smudged menu. When I asked about the fish of the day, she curtly replied, "I don't know," walked away, then returned, shouting, "It's a turbot." No explanation, no smile. When I asked what accompanied the fish of the day, the young waiter didn't know and made a guess—"maybe fennel and risotto, well, I don't know." He didn't even go to the kitchen to check. The wine list is steeply priced: bottles that cost around €7 are listed for almost €30. The waitress casually insisted on pouring the bottle of Pinot Grigio into the used Chardonnay glasses. She then spent over an hour chatting loudly with the staff at the bar—inappropriate in a half-empty restaurant where guests were still eating. The oysters were good, but they didn't come with a fork or a plate. The bouillabaisse tasted like it came out of a can. The guinea fowl was bland, partially raw, with rock-hard, inedible leeks and a watery purée. When I mentioned it, I heard the waiter shout loudly from the kitchen: "He says it's raw!!!" And to make matters worse, the dish still showed up on the bill. Brasserie Monsées advertises itself as "pure, honest, and carefully prepared," but in reality, it's sloppy, disinterested, uninspired, and grossly overpriced. A place without soul—absolutely not recommended.

Whether you're dining for two or with a group of friends, this is a wonderful place to dine. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, with a very pleasant terrace at the front. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely attentive. They understand the needs of the table. And then there's the food...delicious! Prepared with love, you can see and taste it in every dish. An idyllic spot with a wonderful restaurant. Definitely worth stopping by for lunch or dinner!

After years of excellent experiences at Vlaar, we were very disappointed. The dishes were overly simplified, the service was sloppy (I didn't know what the fish of the day was), and the dessert menu was uninteresting. I also noticed that the menu looked quite worn. Such a shame.

With high expectations, we went here for dinner with four people. We chose the 5-course chef's menu. The food was delicious. However, the service, while friendly, went a bit wrong. They forgot water, brought the wine list, but no one came back to ask what we wanted to order. After the fourth course, we were asked if we wanted coffee or tea. We said the fifth course, dessert, was still to come. That then took another 45 minutes. The bill also took a long time. We saw the staff chatting and drinking while we were still waiting for the bill. There was no one to see us out, no one to hand over coats. And upon entering, there was no welcome at the entrance. So all in all, we felt the rather high price was disproportionate to what we received. It's a shame.

I've been meaning to go here for a while since we live in Hilversum. Now that we're in 's-Graveland, we've been and were pleasantly surprised by the food. Unfortunately, the service was a bit lacking; they forgot about us early in the evening. Considering the price, they could also use more enthusiasm, suggestions, and explanations.

We enjoyed a Saturday lunch here, à la carte. The dishes were beautiful and delicious, and the service was excellent. The only downside, if I had to find one, was that a family of flies seemed to enjoy our fish dishes as well. The dessert deserves a special mention. The mille feuille with white chocolate mousse, amarena cherry, and mint coulis was a truly spectacular taste experience!
