This restaurant has such a vibrant atmosphere, and the staff is incredibly warm and friendly, making you feel as if you're relaxing in someone's living room. The food was outstanding, with a perfect balance of herbs and flavors. The prices were very reasonable, and the portions were generous. We absolutely loved it. The best Georgian restaurant in the Netherlands so far. Big portions, resembling true size of Georgian dishes typical for Georgia. What I highly reccommend are Acharuli hachapuri, Khinkali and all types of dishes cooked in small pan ("ketsi"). Amazing cook, multi-lingual service - amazingly kind people as well. Prices are surprisingly reasonable for such a perfect ratio between portions and quality.

One of the best meals out I’ve had in ages. There was a mix up with our reservation but the staff was so friendly and accommodating in making things right. All the food we ate was exceptional and our waitress made a great wine recommendation that we really enjoyed. We couldn’t stop talking about how much we loved the food all night—the worst part about the meal was that we simply had to stop eating. Coming back next time with friends so we can try more of the menu!

Delicious real Georgian cuisine.

I scheduled a pickup order for 5:30 PM. Upon arrival, I discovered my order was never saved in their system. The staff told me to wait an additional 30 minutes without offering any apology for the mistake. It's a shame, as we were really looking forward to the khinkalis.

We have eaten here several times now, because the food here is so tasty... and the people are also very friendly. Very special to be able to eat such delicious Georgian food here in the Netherlands. We are fans of the platter with its various delicious starters, and the khinkali is also delicious. We enjoy it every time and we keep coming back!

07.12 I would like to thank the cook for the delicious and fresh food. You are a true professional in this kitchen, we didn’t have to wait long and everything was very tasty. The waiter was friendly but knowledge of service standards was lacking, as was the uniform. You can hear the conversations of other guests and staff at the table, which causes discomfort. I recommend turning the background music louder so that conversations can blend in with the melody and become less noticeable. Despite the nuances, I would return because it is delicious. And the prices match.

The restaurant was packed on arrival and for good reason. My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Old Tbilisi. The food was absolutely delicious, if only we could have fit in more. The portions are big, the service is great - definitely one of the best food experiences I’ve had in Hilversum, also The Netherlands. Definitely recommend :)

First time enjoying Georgian cuisine but definitely not the last time. We shared three dishes which were delicious, the wine was great too and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

Nice to visit if you are looking for something different. Nice meal! Have a nice drink! (Green lemonade ;) ) Georgian mix grill eaten. Tasty desserts! You must love the herb coriander because it was very present in the flavor palette that we tasted. The tables and chairs were a bit rickety and in need of updating! Then I would have given it a 5 star rating.

Reading the review below, I really understand the chef (I’m not making excuses*). It seems to me that in some cases it is very important to explain to a person how to eat correctly, for example khinkali or Adjarian khachapuri. I myself have witnessed how people eat Adjarian khachapuri incorrectly, putting the cheese on plates (like pasta) and leaving all the bread. People just don't know the subtleties. Proper presentation of the dish will already be considered a big plus and a good atmosphere. You have wonderful waiters who can easily cope with this. Everything was delicious👌 Thank you

Unfortunately, I have to leave a negative review here. The taste of the food was okay, but in the middle of eating mine, I found a big piece of broken plastic in my food. I had to stop eating at that moment. I hope next time the kitchen staff will be more careful, because this thing could be dangerous.

Worst service imaginable, the opposite of hospitality. We had two small dogs, one on the lap, one on the leash under a chair. We were told that they don’t allow dogs inside the restaurant but only after we already started eating! We were told to tie them somewhere outside or leave. Trashiest restaurant.

We were with small dogs inside, already ordered and even started to eat. Then suddenly we were asked either to leave or to put dogs on a leash somewhere outside the place. Very rude to do so, this is a bad service. Even didn’t offer to change a table for a terrace or to finish the food. Just rude. I won’t come there again without dog and definitely not recommend to go there to anyone.

Yes, it is not a restaurant, but it is the best Georgian cuisine that I have tasted outside of Georgia Friendly staff that creates a feeling of home, a sense of hospitality I am very surprised by Ajharuli, it is really authentic and a very big portion, just like in Kubdar, which is so juicy that it is impossible to eat it and not stain your clothes Thank you, we will definitely come again and bring friends

I loved the place and can certainly recommend it! Their khachapuri imeruli was the best I’ve tried in NL so far. Chinkali were very nice, however one person in our group found them too spicy. We enjoyed a plate of mixed starters. I liked the one with aubergines the most (but it was a bit salty). Vine selection is great, so as atmosphere and service. The place gets busy sometimes, I recommend you to book your table in advance.

The food and atmosphere is great, but, unfortunately, good luck paying if you are visiting Netherlands from United Stares. We have already spent lots of time at the restaurant with no end in sight. Very, very frustrating.

Since we have no experience with this cuisine, we asked the waitress to recommend us a menu. We were four people. That worked out well. We received a board with a selection of all starters. Extremely surprising, but above all delicious. Spinach balls with nuts and herbs, eggplant also deliciously seasoned and something with beets, nuts and again Georgian herbs. Never tasted anything like it before. The main course was quickly (too quickly) put on the table. But looked fantastic. Grilled meat, something like pickled onion with dill, potatoes, small mushrooms and small peppers. And a 3 cheese cake / bread. What is it and what can you compare it to? Once again fantastic in taste. The dishes do not look complex or complicated, but the flavors are certainly complex and layered. Enjoyed this with a delicious white wine, for a very attractive price. We concluded with various desserts that cannot be compared to anything else. Grape juice, but like a kind of pudding, balls of nuts and honey, very solid and incomparable to Baklava. A great evening. Delicious food and a restaurant we will return to.

Impressions from the restaurant are mixed. The interior is nice, the bartender was nice, and the food is delicious. BUT! I wish there was a closed kitchen. Perhaps this way we wouldn't have to listen to the chef's dissatisfaction for half of our visit. I won’t specify what we listened to, but his statements were very tactless. He didn’t like that I rearranged the khinkali (as shown in the photo) and had to listen to it in a rather loud tone. He allegedly explained to the bartender, but in a voice so that every customer in the restaurant could hear it. Please note that if there is a serving feature and you cannot touch the dish when it is served to you, you need to be warned about this (although it sounds a little absurd, doesn’t it?). When we arrived, we were offered to sit inside or outside. We chose a table inside and regretted it. After the khinkali were served and I touched them - which, I believe, should not have been done based on the cook’s indignation - I just wanted to leave. But we didn’t do this because we were expecting the next dish. The food left a good impression, but the emotions remained negative. I'm not sure that we will want to visit the restaurant again.

The food here is fantastic. Incredibly fresh, well prepared and full of flavour. The prices for the dishes are also very good. We had a lavish meal here with two people for €75. Where else can you find that in the Netherlands? The service was good and fast. The service is very friendly. The restaurant is very small when it rains, because the terrace is not open. The inside of the restaurant is fine, but certainly nothing special. It is nicely decorated with Georgian accents. I recommend everyone to eat here! We would definitely like to come back here again.

Our 3rd time here and our experience here is consistently excellent! Food options, flavors, and portions are fantastic, wine is superb, service is always nice, friendly, and pleasant. Acharuli Khapachuri and the mixed grill are our absolute favorite! The shqmeruli and khinkali are very very flavorful too. I wish we could eat those with rice ❤️ It wont be our last, and we will always recommend Old Tbilisi to our friends!

I have lived in Hilversum for 20 years and only yesterday we found out about this restaurant. Everything was very tasty with a unique taste. They even make their own cheese for one of the plates. We will go again next week.

Great restaurant. Lots of choice, all Georgian classics on the menu, from khachapuri and khinkali to grilled chicken, lamb stew, lobio (bean stew) and delicious walnut salads. Excellent wines (also Georgian orange wine!) and very fair prices.

Very disappointed about the service... We drove 25 minutes all the way to Hilversum because we were really fancing some kinkhali and khachapuri. When we arrive there; we got to know that they cannot find our reservation (even though I called and got a confirmation for a table for 3 persons by phone at 8 pm) We got asked to wait by the bar until a table is free; ordered some wine which did not come.. We had to ask again for it... The waitress was not helpful at all.. When we asked when we can get a table she just replied : I do not think it is possible without any further help ... So we ask her manager who says we need to wait a bit but unfortunately there is no more kinkhali and khachapuri ... At this point we were just extremely disappointed so we decided to just leave. My boyfriend pays for the drinks and the waitress just asks if he "needs the change back"... Please review your service; it is so unfortunate for a restaurant with such a good cuisine.. Note that I also had a bad experience before when I booked for 5 people via the website only to call one hour before and find out they also cannot find our reservation...

Quite an experience. We came in, asked if there's a table - there was one available for 2.5 hours (that worked for us). We got the menus, but 2 minutes later the waitress came back to tell us that this table was just booked online and we had to go. We asked if we could get take away, she said yes. We ordered, and a moment later heard her ask the cook when it would be ready and him yelling that he's not making take-away. Then she came back to us saying it will be 1.5 hours. We ate here before and the food was good (though that other time they brought out the wrong beer, took it away and then brought it back saying that this was the right one - honestly, the difference between blond and brune is not subtle enough for this trick). Overall, the service is quite poor to say the least.

Cozy restaurant. Friendly staff. Tasty food, lots of meat. If you are with a child, keep in mind that most of the meat dishes are a bit spicy, but the adults were delighted. I especially liked khachapuri, kubdari, tobacco chicken and eggplant rolls

A Georgian restaurant with quite the variety, and one of the few in the Netherlands. The portions are really big and they justify the price. The shqmeruli I had was quite delicious at first, but after eating more and more it becomes too fatty. The khinkali were tasty and overall I recommend it.

Good georgian food. Kubdari was fatty, shkmeruli was not special, while Khinkali were very good. Big portions and has all the general georgian classics expect soups.

I discovered Georgian cuisine a while ago in Kyiv - amazed by this experience, I was eager to try the « old Tbilisi » in Hilversum. Unfortunately I do not know if this was the taste of Georgia or ….the taste of Russia? The food is not bad but the taste was missing. Could be improved. Edit: the owner does not seem to appreciate a comment that is not 100% positive but learning from errors is always a way to improve. Otherwise you will always stay mediocre…

It was a spontaneous visit. The food was very tasty, no question. Service is also excellent, explanations about the differences in the dishes were clear.

When guests come to us, we never think about where to go with them; our choice is always “Old Tbilisi”. Always tasty, atmospheric and pleasant. The portions are large and very filling. If you can’t finish everything, they’ll pack everything for you. The staff is patient and polite, they will always change devices as needed. This is a place where you always want to go and never get tired of it.

Yesterday my friend and I wanted to have dinner somewhere after work. We didn't think for a long time. Of course, Old Tbilisi. We come here often. And every time it’s a “celebration of the belly.” Delicious. Friendly, attentive staff. Small room, but so cozy. I recommend booking in advance.

Nice small restaurant with a nice varied menu, also suitable for vegetarians. I made a grill dish for 2 (see photo) with a nice glass of red wine. The wine tastes different from the average French or Italian wine due to the soil, grape variety and method, but it certainly goes well with the dish. We had time because it took a while before the dish was served (it was a Sunday), but it was fantastic in composition and taste. And that for very reasonable prices, even today. In short, a nice restaurant, excellent cuisine, affordable and something different from the standard hamburger, spare ribs and tapas places. Recommended 🇬🇪

Great place, delicious food, super chef and waiters!

Today we visited this place for the first time. We love Georgian cuisine! We are both very impressed with the skill of the cook. Chinkali was unearthly delicious, the best we have tried so far. Our hearts were also stolen by the outstanding kubdari, which we could no longer fit in our bellies.... Because the portions are gigantic! Highly recommended to all lovers of eastern flavors and also to all those people who want to try something different. In this restaurant you will not only eat deliciously, but also be served at a very decent level. I recommend heartily!

We made a reservation with my partner and got a confirmation that it was successfully made. Upon arrival at the restaurant we found out that the restaurant should as well separately confirm the reservation. The guy serving just simply said that without a reservation we won’t be able to dine-in. Giving an alternative could have made a difference but I guess it’s not their usual practice. The food may be good but I guess we will never know.

A sad story about how I waited a very long time for my order (after an hour my stomach was already churning from hunger), no one warned me about such a long wait, and in the end they brought a very disappointing Adjarian-style khachapuri with thin sides and a huge chunk of butter with hints of margarine from above, it was hard to eat... And it’s so strange, there are few tables, and it takes such a long time to serve orders. Khinkali was ok, but they couldn’t fix the situation, I regretted coming to this place.

We just returned from Old Tbilisi to Hilversum. We were unpleasantly disappointed, we had dinner and ordered pkhali and eggplant rolls to take home, in the end we put rolls and some kind of bread. The girls didn’t have change, ok, they left a 20 € tip, and for they received bread instead of ordering. Carefully study what they give you, I don’t know if they were deliberately deceived or an accident. But we were celebrating a wedding anniversary and such negligence ruined the holiday for us.
