Old Tbilisi *Georgian Cuisine* in Centrum

Surprisingly, we were very pleased, from the atmosphere to the simple but delicious home-cooked food. The khinkali were divine, the mixed grill was also excellent; we would have liked a little more adjika, as there wasn't enough for the whole dish. The kharcho soup was a bit overpriced for the portion and the amount of meat, but it was certainly delicious. The wine is an art form in itself, exquisite. We'll definitely be back, and we hope you expand and reach Utrecht.

I was treated for my birthday. What delicious cuisine...Comfort Food with a capital "F." What an incredible explosion of flavors. We were able to sample several dishes, as we were doing a kind of sharing dinner. If you love cheese, Yum Yum...I'm very curious about the rest of the dishes on the menu. Highly recommended!!!

If you love Georgian, it is the place to pay a visit. If you don't know what Georgian cuisine is, well, this is the right place to get introduced to it (ask the waiters). Reservation required

Ate here twice. Great food, great service, they serve tap water which is encouraging health-wise. Khinkali, eggplant rolls, mixed grill, khachapuri. We were there early so the ambiance was nice and relatively quiet.

Came all the way from Deventer just to enjoy delicious Georgian cuisine. We were not disappointed! The food was amazing and service was great, not even to mention the incredible Georgian wines! We will come back for sure! Loved it!

The food is absolutely delicious, the service is very friendly, and it's a great Georgian restaurant! Fantastic. I think the chef has changed because the food tastes different. Unfortunately, the downside is that it's less flavorful, the portions are smaller, and the prices are much higher. Previously, a mixed grill for two people cost 38 euros; now it's 48 euros, and the portion is 1/3 smaller. The potatoes lacked the garlic and spice flavor. You can taste the difference in all the menu items, both in taste and price. We, as regular customers, ordered our favorites: meat dumplings, a cheese and egg flatbread, mixed grill, and a bottle of wine. The bill was 30 euros higher for the same meal than before, which is a big difference.

The speed of service was excellent. The eggplant and zachapuri appetizer was very good. But the meat was disappointing: the pork was a little undercooked, and the lamb was overcooked. The dessert compensated for everything👍

We made a reservation, but when we arrived our name wasn’t on the list. Fortunately, they still accommodated us and gave us a table. The service was friendly and the food was fantastic—portions are huge, definitely great for sharing. The only downside was that our bill included a white wine we never ordered. We didn’t notice at first because we trusted the process and even added a €10 tip, bringing the total to €130. It’s a bit unfortunate to find an extra €8 item that wasn’t ours and it’s not a small amount. Quite upset about this. Still, overall a great experience—but just a reminder to double-check your bill before paying.

Honestly, the best service that I really miss in the Netherlands sometimes. The stuff is very friendly, always helps with food and wine suggestions. The portions are pretty nice and filling. The location is right in front of Q-park in the city center. The space is cozy and spacious.

Friendly waiters and very helpful even though they did not fully understand dutch. Very good food and maybe a bit too much. The music was a bit too loud so when you're sitting in the corner we could hardly understand eachother. Will definitely go again though!

I really enjoyed the food! Khinkali, shashlik, khachapuri—everything was delicious. The khachapuri was simply mind-blowing—the creamy flavor of the cheese was superb. The service was also good, especially considering how busy it was. The waiters were running around like squirrels in a wheel, but we were always heard, and every request was fulfilled. The staff was very attentive. The atmosphere of the place itself is nice and cozy, but it was very noisy. It's understandable: people come in groups, chatting, and relaxing. But there's a difference between casual conversation and shouting and loud laughter, especially when the place is packed; it feels almost like a cafeteria. Of course, this depends on the behavior of the customers, not the establishment. The restrooms were a bit dirty, but that's understandable given the number of customers. We still want to go back, but only midweek to avoid the rush and loud noise. The food here is definitely worth a return visit.

Finally a good Georgian place next to Utrecht Tasty, very natural flavour. Great meal with wine for 40 euro pp and you leave absolutely stuffed.

After discovering Georgian cuisine in Estonia and Latvia, we were looking for a Georgian restaurant in the Netherlands. We were lucky to find this gem in Hilversum nearby. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back, and we're even going to celebrate our birthday here with the family so they can also discover the delicious Georgian wines and dishes.

A little disappointed. All the food (starters and main courses) arrived at the same time, and the main courses weren't hot anymore. The lamb stew was more of a soup and was missing some ingredients. There was also no request for desserts or coffee/tea. Overall, everything felt careless.

10 out of 10 I've traveled around Georgia many times (Sakartvelo is one of my favorite countries) and tried both home-cooked Georgian cuisine and in cafes and restaurants. I can tell you, the Old Tbilisi team managed to distill the best recipes of traditional Georgian cuisine and transport them 3,000 km without losing anything. In some details, the taste was even better than in central Tbilisi.

We celebrated a friend's birthday at Old Tbilisi today. Everything was incredibly delicious, the dishes were beautifully presented, it was cozy, and the khachapuri was excellent. We were able to choose a table immediately upon arrival. We were helped immediately. The appetizer was served quickly. It was full of herbs and flavors—not quite to my liking, but perhaps for others. We had to wait a long time for the main course, a mixed grill for two. It was as if we had been forgotten while other tables received their main courses. The flavor of the mixed grill was very disappointing. The meat was dry and underseasoned. On a previous visit, we had requested a mixed grill without pork and cilantro, but unfortunately, this was served. The cheese bread was very tasty, the only recommendation.

We went there for Sunday dinner. Our food arrived after one and a half hours, even though we only ordered one pide (kind of a pizza), one hingel (boiled dumplings), and one shish kebab. Normally, these dishes shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes to prepare. If it is busy, maximum 30 minutes. From what I observed, the management doesn’t seem to be handling the new location very well.

I was so happy to visit this place to celebrate my anniversary with my boyfriend. The food and atmosphere were very good and i feel very sad that I live quite far from this place. It was nice for a change to be at very familiar atmosphere of warmth. The menu is big enough and you can choose whatever you can imagine from Georgian cuisine.

The food itself was decent, but the service was a real letdown. We waited far too long, only to have all dishes (starters and mains) dropped on the table at once, which made the meal rushed and unpleasant. The table was way too small to fit everything properly. To make things worse, one dish never arrived, and only after asking were we told they had run out — something the staff should have known and communicated right away. The whole service felt disorganised and inattentive, and it really overshadowed the food. Very disappointing experience overall.

We ate at Old Tbilisi in Hilversum, and it was a truly wonderful experience! The food was fantastic—very aromatic, full of spices, and simply delicious. We particularly recommend the grilled skewer with salad, the beef soup, the dumplings with meat and cheese, and the freshly baked bread with cheese and egg. Everything tasted authentic and was prepared with love. The staff was incredibly warm and attentive—you immediately feel welcome. One small note: We would have preferred some dressing or simply oil with salt and pepper for the salad, but that's certainly a matter of taste. Overall, we absolutely recommend it; we'd love to come back!

Very tasty, cool and atmospheric. The best place we've been to. The waiters and cooks are very eternal, attentive and friendly. A small wish - change the plates when several different dishes are ordered, otherwise we wiped ours with salted ones ourselves after three dishes :)

The food was delicious, but quite pricey for what it was. The service was very friendly. They did push a bit to order a lemonade as a drink. We asked if it wasn't too sweet. It wasn't that sweet, but it was incredibly sweet. But they were polite when we wanted to exchange the drink. All in all, it was a nice experience.

The restaurant got a new nice location. Mixed grill was delicious! Khinkali too. We were with 2 dogs, so we asked for 1 boiled egg 🥚. They brought us 2 and didn’t charged for it ☺️ So it is their favorite restaurant now 🐶 Also gin & tonic is ridiculously cheap. Going back only for that!

The food here was amazing. The khinkali are big and flavorful and the pork and garlic dish we had blew us away. Service was fast and attentive and you can tell that they want to do a good job. We live a ways away but will definitely make the trek back to Hilversum just to eat here.

Note: They've moved; the new address is Groest 33, and it's still incorrect on Google Maps. We had a delicious meal here! The staff are also Georgian, and our server even shared some personal details, like how the cake here resembles his grandmother's recipe and how he grew up with the lemonade, which I love. It really adds authenticity to the experience. The atmosphere is great, and the prices are reasonable. We'll definitely be back.

When we took the khinkali home, after 2 hours of waiting. We opened them and they were like they were all crumpled up, there was also a light hair in one of them, and they were falling apart, they also looked like they were undercooked, judging by the top. And they didn't smell very good either.

Really expected more but unfortunately our anniversary meal was a disappointment. 2 out of the 5 meals we shared were good, the rest were very forgetful and bland. You can see the location is new as the poor staff struggled to keep people happy waiting over an hour for food... We got our main meal before the starters, and from other tables complaining about the long wait, you could sense the kitchen just can't keep up, especially on a Saturday...

As someone who grew up with a Georgian family and authentic Georgian food, I found this restaurant a huge disappointment. The dishes we received had little to nothing to do with the flavors, preparation, or experience of true Georgian cuisine. It almost felt like an insult to Georgian culture. Bland, poorly prepared, and completely soulless. I understand that many Dutch people might find this "tasty," but that's mainly because they simply don't know what it's supposed to taste like. If you've grown up with traditional recipes and a love for Georgian cuisine, this hurts. Definitely not recommended for anyone looking for anything even remotely authentic.

Six months after our trip to Georgia, known for its exquisite cuisine, we were eager to see if Old Tbilisi could match that level. Well, absolutely! We felt like we were back on vacation, not least because of the accompanying music. Try this, discover this, and don't forget to sample some typical Georgian wine or lemonade!

As a big lover of Georgian food and wines, I was very happy with this experience. All the classics are on the menu (plenty of great food for vegetarians too!) and the wines are delicious, especially the qvevris. As is usual in the Georgian eating culture, it is best to order many different dishes and share everything! So far havent had such a nice Georgian meal in Holland. If I hadnt been driving, I would have taken shots of chacha in between too and toast to the good things in life 😁 My sincere compliments to all of you and we will surely be back with family and friends!
