Very good food, nice atmosphere

Took a break during a walk and had a nice lunch.

The staff is always incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is always cozy and pleasant!

A very cozy place to grab a nice bite to eat or drink. It is a pleasant atmosphere here, and the service is very good and quite fast. You can enjoy a wonderful view of Maastricht and the surrounding area from here. Highly recommended if you are in or near Maastricht.

We enjoyed it to the fullest! Our group was completely spoiled by very friendly staff. Lemmens pie. Had a fun game of mini-golf. Dinner was tasty and affordable. Wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Soft music in the background in the tent. Beautiful view of the mountain from their terrace.

We were served very well yesterday, a group of 20 people. The food was also very tasty. The sour meat was especially good.

Brasserie Monte Nova is one of our favorite spots! The onion soup is truly the best onion soup ever, but the other dishes are also delicious and prepared with care. The staff is incredibly friendly and hospitable, making sure you feel welcome immediately. The atmosphere is always cozy, whether you are sitting inside or on the terrace after a walk on the Sint-Pietersberg. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a good meal in beautiful surroundings.

Nice spot after the finish of the Pieterpad to catch our breath for a bit. Celebrated with a delicious piece of flan and a cold beer.

The food is good, they have a nice selection of drinks, but above all, enjoying the view from the terrace after a walk gives this brasserie something special.

We were playing minigolf with our grandma and wanted to finish off with a drink. There were five of us, but we weren't allowed to push chairs together to sit all five of us. The reason given was that "the chairs have to go where the chairs have to go."

Half way up the road to plateau stPieter it is easy to overlook, hidden to the right a bit at the base of the Fort … Excellent value for money ! Arguably the best you will find in Maastricht. Very relaxed atmosphere with beautiful view. Very friendly staff … Re-discovered by us a month ago, we have been there 3 times since … Hopefully not too many people will read this review :) One of the few places in Maastricht which have not yet become overpriced, too busy tourist traps … Please keep it as it is :)

Very fast service, very attentive, very dog-friendly.

Quick and friendly service in a very pleasant brasserie. The portions are generous and the prices quite reasonable. We had a wonderful time, especially enjoying a lovely aperitif. We'll gladly return!

We received a friendly welcome upon arrival, the food was excellent, and the reopening was clearly noticeable! The staff was at our table almost immediately, and we were able to enjoy a delicious drink right away. My experience with the Limburgplankje was positive, and we will definitely be back. We were here again a while ago.

What a fantastic place! Beautifully situated on Sint-Pietersberg Hill with a magnificent view of Maastricht. Inside, you'll immediately receive a warm welcome in a cozy atmosphere, with pleasant music playing in the background. The dishes are hearty. The service, especially the owner and the Belgian lady, is very pleasant. Absolutely recommended after a lovely walk. And even if you're not into walking, this is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal, drinks, or a delicious slice of pie. Parking is certainly no problem.

We had a late lunch at Monte Nova. The restaurant has a very cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The food was excellent, we tried fish and chips and videeke for lunch that beautifully presented and full of flavor. The bitterballen is so scrumptious. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared, and the portions were just right. We ended our lunch with some coffee and the pannenkoeken, perfection. The staff were friendly and attentive which made the experience even better. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a warm, original and authentic restaurant in Maastricht. We’ll definitely come back!

This restaurant is located right next to Maastricht's fortress and impresses with good food at a good price. The friendliness of the staff is particularly noteworthy. There's a dining room, a tent, and a lovely outdoor area. Incidentally, our server also spoke German.

Great atmosphere for the holidays and really well-prepared food. A small chicken chili salad, a decent portion, and delicious.

On Wednesday afternoon, November 26, 2025, my wife had fish and chips. The fish wasn't good; a lot of liquid (water) came out and it didn't look appetizing. I returned it to the chef, but he said it was the water from the fish. Never heard of that, don't make a big deal about it; a good restaurant will cook a new one. I had the rabbit, which was tasty, but in my opinion, a small piece for that price. So, we concluded we won't dine there again. I consulted the waiter, but had to consult his chef (boss), but that didn't help us much at the time. A real shame.

We eat here occasionally, the food is ok, my husband loves the Goulash there, I love coming to this area in the summer.

Charming mountain brasserie – lovely terrace, delicious black pudding & friendly staff A great spot at the top of the mountain, where after the climb you're rewarded with a view and a brasserie that does what it's supposed to do. The black pudding sandwich is surprisingly good – highly recommended for anyone who can handle a bit of culinary daring. The menu also has a fairly standard brasserie menu, but sometimes that's exactly what you want: no fuss, just good food. The terrace is lovely, the service friendly, and the atmosphere wonderfully relaxed. In short: a fun, tasty stop on the mountain, perfect for hikers, cyclists, and anyone who enjoys a local sandwich. 🍽️⛰️

The waiter didn't bother saying anything when taking our order. Until he announced that there would be no more pie with coffee at 2 p.m. Oddly enough, guests after us could order pie. Your staff member barely wanted to say a word and didn't bother to look at us. He must have been tired from the morning rush. We were tired from our long walk and, judging by the high ratings, expected more hospitality.

We came here for the mini golf, but the course was a huge disappointment. It wasn't playable, the ball kept falling off the course, and the obstacles (loops, spirals, and jumps) didn't work. The terrace was nice, though, where you can enjoy a drink for a reasonable price.

We had a pleasant and delicious meal with just four adults and two children. The service was extremely efficient and friendly. The portions could be a bit larger for the adults, though.

We had a truly delicious meal and the service was friendly and efficient. But what really disappointed us was that while we were still enjoying our meal, chairs were being put on tables elsewhere in the restaurant. In other words: we were kicked out! It was 8 pm on a Sunday evening.

Monte Nova is first of all beautifully situated against the Pietersberg in Maastricht. But what made it special (in our case a party for 60 people) was the super service, personal touch and very friendly people. Moreover, everything was done to make us as happy as possible. An absolute must

Bitter customer experience. We arrive at 15.30 and order drinks. Then we wait for a good while to get someone's attention to order food. We are not the only ones, I notice that many customers stand up and walk to the counter to ask to pay or to order... The place is probably at 10% capacity, so not sure what was keeping everybody busy. Finally someone comes at 16.01 on the clock. I ask for one dish that was served till 16, and I am told that they won't bring it, because it's 16.01, and the boss said so. Good sense of business, boss, I ended up not ordering the dish, nor the coffee + dessert that I wanted afterwards. My partner orders a salad and asks whether it is gluten free as she's intolerant. The waiter doesn't know what gluten free means. We explain, and he confirms that the salad is 100% gluten free. When the salad arrives, it is covered in croutons. Can't say we enjoyed our stay.

Actually we only wanted to have a drink here. But because of the friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere, I decided to take a look at the menu. We had a delicious meal there. With nice, pleasant music in the background. We think it is highly recommended. We will definitely come back again when we are in Maastricht or the surrounding area.👍🏻

A super nice place to have a bite to eat after walking. We came in on Sunday at 12 and there was still plenty of room (it got busy shortly after that). Friendly service, delicious food and good coffee. The atmosphere was very cozy and homely. We were surprised at how cheap it actually was (€18 for a sandwich, latte macchiato and water). Highly recommended. The bouncer is definitely worth a try, super delicious!

We came for a quick visit, after a tour of Fort Sint Pieter, we had half an hour until the start of the next guided tour in the cave. We received a super friendly welcome, the service was thoughtful and super fast and we had a really delicious meal! It's a shame we had so little time, it was a cozy, atmospheric atmosphere. Thanks for the tip which way to walk, we were on time for the tour! We will definitely enjoy it longer next time!

Once again we had a delicious meal, with rabbit as the dish of the day. But everyone, there were 6 of us, had a delicious meal. So we will definitely come back here next year

A top location, small-scale, a small, versatile menu with plenty of room for vegetarian choices and a very relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. Dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients and that little bit of extra care that characterizes a good kitchen. Highly recommended! We held our 50th wedding anniversary here. The place on top of the mountain created a cozy atmosphere. The BBQ was well prepared and very tasty. Everyone enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
