Brasserie Sailor's Inn in Wijk 05 Bruinisse

A prime location, but my idea of ​​good food is quite different. The food was nothing special, and the portion sizes varied wildly. Some side dishes were missing. I wouldn't eat there again. It's a shame, really, for such a beautiful harbor area.

Beautiful restaurant in the harbor of Bruinisse. Tastefully decorated in a lovely location. The kitchen turns the food into works of art. See the photo of the Asia Carpaccio. Making a reservation might be a good idea to avoid disappointment.

Missed opportunity, we were really looking forward to having lunch at the Sailors Inn.. First of all, we had to ask for service.. after about 10 minutes. The wine and beer arrived in no time.. Fair is fair.. But we had to wait for our lunch order again.. Again, no one came to take our order.. Now off to Zierikzee, hoping things go better there 😄

We went for dinner last year and are giving it another try this year, but unfortunately, it remains a disappointment. Not worth repeating. The young girls and boys are very friendly, but the team leader has an unpleasant attitude. The quality of the food is mediocre. The patio furniture was dirty, and this time, too, we constantly had to chase after everything. We won't be mooring here next summer.

It used to be our absolute favorite spot, but unfortunately it has changed a lot in terms of atmosphere and selection. The lunch menu isn't interesting and is very limited. There is little atmosphere, and the staff isn't very enthusiastic either. The food served, however, is still okay.

The ambiance was nice, the food was okay but nothing special, and very overpriced. We had to wait well over an hour for our main course after our appetizer, and we were also charged for items we never received. Therefore, this will unfortunately be our first and last time there.

We stopped by to make a reservation and it was only available at 6 pm. My wife called afterwards and we could come around 7:30 pm, but inside. We arrived at 7:30 pm and were allowed to choose from 2 tables outside? That counts for organization and planning.... We had to wait more than 20 minutes for an extra portion of fries and then returned it. Of course, it was charged, but it was rectified afterwards. The fact that a place like this scores lower than the chip shop on wheels certainly raises questions.

We spontaneously decided to go to Sailor's Inn today. Even though the previous reviews (most of which are several years old!) seem mixed, I have to strongly disagree. I made a reservation by phone, as I don't speak Dutch, but it wasn't a problem in English or German. When we arrived, we were shown to a table on the terrace overlooking the marina. The ambiance is beautiful. The service was very friendly and attentive. As soon as a glass was empty, someone was immediately ready to take another order. For our main courses, we ordered the Black Angus burger, the pork medallions, and the sea bass. The food was fantastic! Both the fish and the meat were cooked to perfection, the side dishes were very well seasoned and delicious. The portions were absolutely ample and satisfying. Many people have complained about the prices, which I also can't agree with. The dishes were high quality, and therefore the prices are definitely justified! We can wholeheartedly recommend the Sailor's Inn and will definitely return when we vacation nearby again next year! This restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

We could always eat well here, beautiful dishes, good and fresh ingredients. Yesterday, full of optimism, we went back to our trusted restaurant, but it was disappointing. I was sick all night. The fish salad was of poor quality. The dessert looked like it had been sitting on the plate for days; according to the menu it was sorbet, but it was ice cream. A shame, but they won't be seeing us here again.

Beautiful spot by the water. Here you can enjoy delicious fried mussels. They're usually boiled, but I'm a fan of the fried kind. The whole thing is served with vegetables and potatoes and a delicious sauce.

Nauseous after eating the very small mussels. 1 small portion of fries for 2 people. Small piece of salmon for my partner. Tried here again after the experience where my partner was sick for 2 days from the “fish soup”. I’m done with it now. A shame, such a beautiful location, and as a berth user at the harbor it could be so lovely. Could be a regular guest and it is convenient at the harbor. If nothing changes, they will only see us for a drink from now on.!!!

The waitresses were all very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, my mustard allergy was completely ignored. I received mussels with mustard sauce even though I had specifically asked for a sauce without mustard. Very disappointing. The other dishes were good, and the fries were too.

We had a delicious meal here in the evening and can highly recommend the brasserie. The location is stunning—especially at sunset—and the service was friendly and very prompt. The food was fresh and the portions were very generous!

The selection is very limited for vegetarians (goat cheese salad or cheese ravioli), and vegan is definitely not an option. The taste is fine, but it's a bit pricey for what you get.

€28.50 for a plate of mussels and fries: the fries were ridiculously small, and there could have been more mussels. If you wanted more fries, you had to pay extra. The only vegetarian dish was ravioli, and there was more bread than ravioli on the plate. Way too expensive for what was on offer!

Everything is small and expensive. Having to order a 0.2 liter drink and fries at surf and turf isn't worth the price.

A beautiful place next to the harbor. The dishes are absolutely phenomenal, always presented beautifully and very tasty. Definitely a recommendation for who is around, they will satisfy your taste. Very friendly staff. Surely worth a visit when around, recommended!

What a horrible experience. I've never seen anything like it. I ordered ravioli and after an hour and a half, I received penne pasta. They tried to sell it as ravioli. Of course, I sent it back to the kitchen. The response: yes, the ravioli is gone. So you can eat this or order something else. While the rest of the group has already been eating for ages. Horrible. Incidentally, it's not the service's fault. Very kind and friendly.

Six of us had to wait a very long time for our main course. When our order finally arrived, penne was served as ravioli. When we pointed out that penne wasn't ravioli, the waitress was sent from the kitchen to tell us they were out of ravioli and that the penne dish was the only other "vegetarian" option. It was disappointing and just plain strange.

We've been eating here on vacation for years. We're always impressed. The dishes, whether fish or meat, are all delicious. Yes, the portions might be small for some, but this isn't a chip shop. We always get full. There's never been a problem with our dog either; there's always water for our four-legged friend.

We called from the boat that we would be a little late. We thought it was neat, right? We were allowed to be a maximum of fifteen minutes later, otherwise he would have rebooked our table. Upon arrival within the ultimatum 😉 there were still plenty of tables available, so I have no idea what the threat was for. The menu is limited. For the vegetarian in our party, there is a choice of 1 main course, Gado Gado. Not really a choice…but okay. That was it. In addition to a bottle of wine, we also ordered a bottle of sparkling water. We found all kinds of mold on the inside, the bottle was almost empty already. Still, I kindly reported it to the hostess. We ordered a new bottle. (The first moldy bottle was still on the bill). There was nothing to complain about on baguette with spreads. The main course. Steak with fries was fine. I have never eaten cooked mussels so badly. Some mussels had been cooked for so long that they may have been completely dry and shriveled above the cooking water. Not to eat. I ate the good mussels and left the rest on the plate. The Gado Gado came, it looked more like a bowl of crudités than an Indian dish, what a travesty. As a good measure, a cup of coffee/tea was provided. In any case, not worth repeating for us. It's a shame, if you're in such a nice place and you don't get the most out of it. It's not exactly cheap either. Definitely not value for money. I didn't take any pictures, it wasn't worth taking pictures.

Steak with pepper sauce as a main course, this portion would still be too small as a child's portion, it was served with 1 chopped mushroom and half a small chicory, 3 of these plates would make a meal for 1 adult, all in all very sparse, I also find it shameful as a local and berth holder, this puts us in a bad light. After dinner we had to eat again on the boat even though we also had a starter and a basket of baguette (5 slices for 2 people with tasteless butter). We will skip dinner here from now on.

Steak with pepper sauce and gratin potatoes was a very meager portion. Barely any gratin potatoes and the pepper sauce was gone after a few pieces of meat. The steak itself was tasty, but not worth the price.

We arrived by boat around 8:30 PM and the kitchen was already closed. Looking in Bruinisse with 2 children, because there would still be plenty open there during the Fisheries Days. Ended up at the local shawarma place on a Thursday evening 🥲 Luckily we were able to have a good dinner there on time the next day...

Had a party on Saturday July 1 for anniversary. Perfectly organised, excellent service, delicious food. Everyone was very satisfied. We look back on a very successful evening.

Hele lekkere gerechten met mooie smaken. De prijs is prima voor wat je krijgt en nu na 2 avonden kan ik wel zeggen dat de bediening erg vriendelijk is. Wij komen hier graag terug.

We ate there 3 times during our stay. Right on the harbor with a great view. We mostly ate fish... simply brilliant 🤩, super fresh and super tasty. Service was very friendly, the atmosphere was great and, above all, super clean. Even if it's a little more expensive, it's worth it! Clear recommendation from 3 ladies who love to eat!

The staff is very friendly. The varity of choices on the menu is such a joy if you don't eat meat. We tried the menu of the day, for starter the salad with shrimps, main course sea bass (oven dish) and for dessert rasberrry icecream with a petit lemon pie. The food is served with such elegance, as it looks very colourful on the plate. And the taste of all is really wonderful. We will definitely return to this establishment!💛

The atmosphere during the week was much less than at the weekend. Depends on who is serving... Super fresh, super tasty, super nice service The dishes are specially interpreted and are a bit upscale but at a very good price-performance ratio. The hit is the family portion for 4 to 5 people, the price is 5€!!!!!!!. We were there twice with 5 people and will definitely come back.

Verständigung auf Englisch ode Deutsch völlig unproblematisch, Wir verstehen überhaupt nicht die vielen mäßigen Bewertungen aus der Vergangenheit, aber vielleicht liegt es am neuen Pächter?

Lekker gegeten met een grote groep, aparte kindertafel. Vriendelijke bediening en goede kwaliteit. De scroppino met pandan als dessert is een aanrader!

Heel gezellige brasserie, vlakbij het Grevelingenmeer. Gelegen aan de haven van Bruinisse met zich op de boten. Mooi en ruim terras. We hebben hier heel lekker gegeten en zeer correct qua prijs. Hele vriendelijke bediening! Ook de akoestiek is hier prachtig opgelost! We komen zeker terug.

Leider stimmen Preis/Leistung nicht überein. Geschmacklich war es ok, aber viel zu teuer. Die Lage ist schön am Hafen, aber nicht sauber. Toiletten nicht gereinigt. Leider nicht zu empfehlen.

De eerste serveuse sprak geen Nederlands en zei gewoon:" English please!" Toen we haar dan in het Engels een vraag stelde, gaf ze een compleet verkeerd antwoord! Dit was even een minpuntje. Voor de rest, alleen maar positieve commentaren. Het eten was zeer lekker en verzorgd. De rest van de bediening was super. Ze waren heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Zeker een aanrader.

Not happy at all with the service. One week ago I booked a specific table for an evening meal last Saturday (for my stepmother birthday). Whe' I book d the table I was 1st on the list and was confirmed that I would have the requested table. The day of the reservation that table was given to someone else (these person were not from the 1st shift). We were provided with another table. I complained and we where proposed to go on another table that was not even cleaned yet. The service is very poor. Meals are ok. I've a season place at the harbor, it was the second time I came at the restaurant. There will be no 3rd time.

Tolles Restaurant und tolles Ambiente. Das Essen hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Selbst unser Hund hat vom Personal einen Kauknochen bekommen. Somit konnten alle in Ruhe Essen. Wir können sagen, das Essen dort ist preiswert, also den Preis wert. Top Qualität, bei top Lage und top Bedienung. Da zahlen wir gerne mal ein paar Euros mehr.

Dit blijft een topadresje, maar je merkt dat de horeca het moeilijk heeft in topmomenten personeel te vinden voor het vele werk, en dus moeten de horeca ondernemers zelf met de rem op rijden. Das jammer

Heerlijk eten met een fantastisch uitzicht op de jachthaven van Bruinisse. Leuke lunch- & dinerkaart met heerlijke gerechten en een jonge en zeer vriendelijke bediening. Wij komen zeker terug!

Wederom prima gegeten. Prijzen zijn goed, bediening is in orde en eten is prima. Hier ga je met een goed gevoel van tafel. Lekker eten in gemoedelijke setting. Niets op aan te merken. Ik weet niet wie er achter de potten en pannen staat, maar keep on the good work.

Zeer mooie accommodatie, en lekker eten en vlotte bediening. Groot voordeel is dat je kan kiezen wanneer het hoofdgerecht komt. Geen overvolle borden, maar zeker (vol)daan gevoel bij verlaten restaurant. Over het algemeen Engels sprekende bediening.
